Vwry close if pressed would give edge to Erskine. Made up for the last bout.

Posted by FistofFury on December 02, 2011 at 09:45 PM

close draw lot of heavy ones thrown

Posted by paddyd on December 02, 2011 at 10:20 AM

I find it a bit hard to buy into Erskins answer that it had nothing to do with the Beagle incident. Why would a heavy weight go after a smaller middle weight when England had skates on the ice. In any event, I think the smaller guy acquitted himself rather well. The fight did little if anything to spark the Caps and I have to call it a draw.

Posted by GlenMeister on December 26, 2011 at 05:32 PM

Erskine looking for some pay back, traded some hard blows but know one had the upper hand...draw.

Posted by AceWilde on December 02, 2011 at 02:54 AM

Wow, read the small blurb on the websites home page. Erskine says it wasn't about retribution. He saw an oppurtunity to get his team going and knew Asham would drop the mits. Solid Draw. As far as Jay Beagle goes, he was taking liberties trying to mix it up when he knows he's not that type of player. Asham went to put him in check. Beagle knew what he was getting himself into before he dropped the gloves... go back and watch the fight. He was a willing participant. He got knocked the hell out. Where's the redemption? What did Asham have to "pay for"? The gesture? Please.

Posted by slavv on December 02, 2011 at 08:19 PM

Both throwing heavy and wild. Gave it a draw. Asham did not go down from an Erskine punch, though at first glance it may have looked that way....

Posted by Mark1967 on December 01, 2011 at 11:29 PM

Lots of missed punches. Couple from both land.

Posted by BigDaddy20 on December 02, 2011 at 08:33 AM

I love Pens fans! Along with their 2 announcers they may be the biggest homers in all of sports! With that being said, I say it was a draw with maybe a slight edge to Erskine. Props to Asham for going , and Erskine for stepping up.

Posted by rangerfantwins on December 02, 2011 at 06:11 AM

i would love erskine on the rangers.also does any one know where colton orr is dont see his name in any box scores

Posted by bigpucks on December 02, 2011 at 04:58 PM

Draw, Asham landed more punched but slipped to end fight.

Posted by deanwormer on December 02, 2011 at 10:20 AM

I like how the announcer melodramatically states "Erskine says to Asham do you remember Jay Beagle...?" In fact, right after the game Erskine said the fight had nothing to do with Jay Beagle but wanted to get his team going immediately following the Adams goal. Also, Erksine landed helmet only and the club to the back knocked Asham off balance. Don't see how this could be anything but a draw... maybe edge Asham for actually landing a few decent blows

Posted by FreeCandy on December 03, 2011 at 02:06 AM

1. I wish it had gone a little longer because I think both men were about to go all helicopter with the right hands. 2. I wish I could see what happened at 0:15. Landed punch or hit the glass? 3. Arron Asham is not asian.

Posted by joeg on December 02, 2011 at 07:52 AM

Come on people....Erskine goes about 6'5" 250lbs vs a 5'11'' 190lb middle weight. And it was still a draw...slipping on the ice doesn't count as a knock down. Even Engelland is only 200lbs-not a true Heavyweight. Erskine needs to save the hero act for guys like MCyntire. And then nonsense about Asham "going after Beagle" is BS. Beagle was throwing himself around and chose to fight Asham after Asham told him to settle down.

Posted by rocky 1 on December 03, 2011 at 12:25 AM

I do not have a dog in this fight but man they both really where throwing!I did not see a punch knocking down Asham so Draw!I wonder why the pens don,t play MacIntyre to fight these heavies,a little mysterious!

Posted by Goose7187 on December 02, 2011 at 11:17 AM

GREAT BOUT!!!! I wanna see an Erskine v Engelland fight badly.

Posted by BoilerUp88 on December 02, 2011 at 12:33 PM

Draw all the way. Especially with middleweight against heavyweight.

Posted by shusixty on December 02, 2011 at 01:38 AM

First time watching I thought Erskine won decisively....after watching a couple of times each landed what appeared one solid punch and the rest glancing blows, with Erskine falling on top of Asham at the end of the fight. Good Tough Toe-to-Toe Fight.

Posted by PhuckFilly on December 02, 2011 at 09:57 AM

Posted by kryon24 on December 04, 2011 at 08:31 AM

Wow were those 2 throwing with bad intentions. If any of those punches from either caveman would have connected, it would be Beagle all over again. Very slight edge to Big John but holy smolly double AA never backed away or ducked. One of the best this year for its intensity.

Posted by swjankovic on December 02, 2011 at 09:23 AM

can't see this as anything but a draw. Asham goes down, but it's not a punch that puts him down. DRAW

Posted by aces50 on December 02, 2011 at 08:07 AM

Erskine was lucky Asham lost his balance. Most of John's punches were behind Ashams head. Arron landed twice as many as John did. I would like to know what fight a few of these people with comments were watching.

Posted by nypd6476 on December 03, 2011 at 11:24 PM

Whoever gave Erskine the win in this fight is a f***ing idiot. You think this was retribution for Ashams last knockout. LMAO! Not even close. Erskine used his weight to knock Asham down. Erskine knows he never had a chance so he pushed him over. Eskine is a heavy wait and knew he didn't have a chance that shows alot about Asham. Erskine never landed a punch,

Posted by upyours on December 02, 2011 at 07:09 AM

Asham 2....Caps 0 The only retribution still needed is for somebody to take out Ovechicken with a knee like he does and sideline that cheapshot, whiny baby.

Posted by Doogle on December 02, 2011 at 04:01 AM

Asham didn't go down cause of Erskine. Watch it again. Win Asham

Posted by pgriech2001 on December 02, 2011 at 10:40 AM

Asham gives up a lot of lbs to fight that old fart.... F the caps and that big goof erk fell on him!!! Winner ASHAM the best middle weight in hockey!!! END OF STORY

Posted by Lucic_Power on December 02, 2011 at 12:09 AM

Asham :D...My favorite other than Lucic and Staubitz. Steps up against the biggest the Caps can offer and arguable pulls a draw. BTW Asham would have destroyed Boyle.

Posted by cosmid on December 02, 2011 at 05:57 PM

I don't know what many of you were watching. Erskine was throwing bombs alright, but he only connected on one. AA was the one landing them. Edge AA.

Posted by BigDaveBrown21 on December 02, 2011 at 12:34 AM

Asham wins on shots landed. Erskine falls on him at the end. Win Asham.

Posted by jnblose on December 02, 2011 at 12:24 AM

Asham in my opinion.

Posted by msanford on December 03, 2011 at 05:43 AM

AA punch after the punch knocking Erskine's helmet is the only punch of the fight and looked like a good one. Looks like Asham takes a dive still feeling a bit bad for the last beating.

Posted by RV_camper on December 02, 2011 at 10:36 AM

Both guys swinging hard, but most of Erskine punches miss. It's close, but I've got to give the slight edge to the smaller guy. Huge size difference, but just coz a guys bigger and swings and misses, doesn't earn the win.

Posted by JaCort16 on December 02, 2011 at 08:24 AM

Honestly, the size difference is remarkable that Erskine really couldn't land anything. I am sorry to say but if you watch the fight, nothing was really landed, the best punches were thrown by AA and Erskine for as big as he is couldn't do much, Have to give the edge to Asham.

Posted by mcb798 on December 02, 2011 at 12:56 PM

asham wins.

Posted by raymi2 on December 02, 2011 at 06:12 AM

Erskine missed too many punches. Best punches by Asham. Winner Asham.

Posted by EDDUBBS on December 02, 2011 at 12:32 AM

What is there to say.Clearly Asham.

Posted by tyrone on December 02, 2011 at 12:08 AM

I agree with Kid Roberts. I don't like Assham, but he gets the nod. His fall was just that, and not from a punch.

Posted by Air Dump on December 02, 2011 at 12:03 PM

Foreskin with the win?? You're joking right? Asham got much better shots in. Win to the much smaller Asham

Posted by shawn46 on December 02, 2011 at 09:54 AM

Beagle smeagle... apples and apeholes... Just like the other mentioned fight the capital invited it and got what he asked for. Outsized by weight and height AA accepted the challenge as always showed he is as tough as everyone thought and did well against a cro-magnon.

Posted by yngblonde1 on December 02, 2011 at 05:59 PM

I watched the fight on dvr about 5 times..On here twice..Honestly Erskine landed 1 clean punch and a tackle..Asham had to punch up but had 3 clean hits..Give a close call to the much smaller Asham....Many are saying Erskines throws Bombs...He may but none landed..Open your eyes and actually count how many time his knuckles hit Asham?? MAYBE once, the rest were with his inner wrist/arm for missing badly..

Posted by Donm8r on December 02, 2011 at 10:45 AM

Erskine does a beat down, payback? Bah what a load of crap. AA stood his ground against a way over sized opponent. Erskine is lucky AA did no land the huge right handed bomb at the start or he would have been Beagled. If anything 2 points to Erksome for wrestling take down.

Posted by Mayhem2011 on December 02, 2011 at 12:35 AM

Erskine tried and did not disappoint but Asham is the clear winner

Posted by simonpwns1021 on December 01, 2011 at 10:26 PM

It was easy draw to call (maybe even edge Asham) until the end, when Erskine connected with a good couple and put Asham off balance. Draw, maybe edge Erskine.

Posted by mbassy on December 04, 2011 at 10:43 AM

contrary to popular opinion i gave this to asham, i think he landed more. good fight for both!

Posted by rags1965 on December 02, 2011 at 07:50 AM

I gotta be honest. How 65% of people vote Erskine is mind boggling. Laying your weight on a guy 50 pounds lighter so he falls and ends the fight is not a win. Asham clearly LANDED the heavier

Posted by dogace on December 02, 2011 at 10:17 AM

great fight! but eskine never connected, slight edge asham! sick fight

Posted by 24kokanee on December 02, 2011 at 10:23 AM

Erskine is 5 inches taller and 20 pounds heaver, i give the win to Asham for fighting the bigger guy and going toe to toe with him, he landed just as many punches and better quality ones at that. Beagle is and was a nobody before and after the ko and had nothing to do with this fight.

Posted by Truk on December 01, 2011 at 11:50 PM

Asham wins as far punches landed to face.

Posted by PghBri on December 01, 2011 at 11:12 PM

Asham 5'10" 196lbs Erskine 6'4" 219lbs. Asham won the fight. He stood and banged against a guy a lot bigger than him. Caps can SmyD. Their chump got knocked the f out like a chump. We all laughed. Then they throw a guy how much bigger at Asham? Give me a freaking break. Can you get any more pathetic. And then Asham handled his own and won. Caps are such a bunch of pathetic posers. The only people who don't see this for what it is, is a bunch of Pittsburgh Jealous Haters. Maybe next game we can let Steve MacIntyre have a go at Erskine and see what kind of man he really is. Asham for the win, over a much larger wannabe.

Posted by tonetone1 on December 03, 2011 at 04:16 AM

besides the fall at the end i thought asham landed the bigger shots.

Posted by Bandito77 on February 28, 2012 at 04:56 PM

Asham actually landed his punches!

Posted by cppalermo on December 05, 2011 at 10:35 AM

I got a kick out of how the homer cap announcers were saying Erskine was standing up to Asham......Erskin is 6-3 and Asham is Asham did just fine and as usual is one of the best pound for pound fighters in the game

Posted by jnk07899 on December 02, 2011 at 09:55 AM

WOW! What a fight! The punches these two threw at each other had vicious intentions! I gave the win to Asham. He landed some solid rights and was always countering! Erskine landed a few big ones and probably the biggest on the takedown but I admire heart in a fight. Asham knew he had to step up for what he did to Beagle and he did. Heart and effort go to Asham. Size goes to Erskine. With Asham being the underdog and doing as well as he did, I had to give him the win. What a great fight. I respect both of these players greatly.

Posted by localmotionsrfr on December 02, 2011 at 10:55 AM

Good, passionate fight! Bombs left and right. Have to go with Asham though. Erskine took him down, but a take-down isn't a win. Asham in this one.

Posted by Riomouse911 on December 02, 2011 at 11:16 PM

Frankenhelmet didn't put JE to sleep, in fact he took the loss.

Posted by digitalroc on April 04, 2012 at 08:24 PM

The W for Erskine. Asham is classless, and deserved to get fed a few punches in the face.

Posted by Gillesthebeast on December 02, 2011 at 08:41 AM

Pens3Cups Asham had that coming for fighting a non fighter and mocking him.... stop your whining especially considering you have Matt Cooke on your team

Posted by BigBadBruin22 on December 02, 2011 at 02:13 AM

Draw to slight edge for Erskine. Asham is a good light heavy to middle and Erskine is caveman strong! I will say this; I think, given a second chance, Erskine would rock Asham or Engelland. On the other hand, Big Mac would handle Erskine handily. FYI. Custombreaks is an absolute moron. Haha

Posted by Behn Wilson on December 02, 2011 at 10:56 PM

Great, short tilt between two warriors, with both guys swinging for the fences. Liked the stagger-start intro by Erskine, who, somewhat surprisingly, seemed to handle the ever-game, Asham, this time out.. Size may have played a factor, but that initial fling, and punch combo against the boards...looked painful.

Posted by boxerlavean5 on December 01, 2011 at 10:32 PM

Okay fight probably a 6 or 7 i'll give it a 7 and win Erskine.

Posted by moneybags on December 02, 2011 at 12:11 AM

Erskine a little much for asham, good bout

Posted by staceyb on December 02, 2011 at 05:53 AM

Big Johnny E. with payback on AA, though AA challenged throughout.

Posted by hal29 on December 05, 2011 at 12:47 AM

Win Erskine , yeah I would say the size may have played a factor but I feel Erskine is just that much of a better fighter. He hit harder and that combo at the start looked nasty and then the last to rights that put Asham where he needs to be. On his a$$. Win Erskine

Posted by rowbearprobear on December 02, 2011 at 06:25 AM

I watched this fight 150 times on DVR/ this site/ in my head. After a close call, Aaron Assham loses against raggedy Andy. Dont like either team, but oddly enough, like both of these guys...

Posted by mudman55 on December 02, 2011 at 07:10 AM

I love both of these guys. And Erskine throws BOMBS. I mean, those things are death blows.

Posted by SabresFanatic on December 04, 2011 at 11:23 PM

That's why hockey is awesome! No other pro sport can you take another player to task for their improprieties!

Posted by xycer on December 02, 2011 at 05:09 PM

i love how some people are making it out as if erskine won easily. he won, don't get me wrong, but it was only a small edge. asham did well considering the size difference. I would even call it a small edge/draw if erskine didn't get the takedown at the end.

Posted by MACMAN214 on December 02, 2011 at 03:02 AM

Erskine wins, but smart of Asham to take a dive before the main assault.

Posted by mckendo83 on December 02, 2011 at 08:53 AM

Middleweight fighting a heavyweight. win erskine but i cant give him my eastern confernce middle weight title because hes not a middleweight.

Asham has always been and always will be, a tough dude. But the more I watch Erskine the more I believe he is the toughest guy in the league, bar none. That includes Pronger, Chara, Tootoo, any of them. If Erskine and anybody go into a dark alley...Erskine is coming out.

Posted by DARCY T on December 02, 2011 at 06:18 PM

now that's what im talking about.i like to see asham fighting one of better fighters again.edge erskine and gave it a 7

Posted by bigdude on December 02, 2011 at 08:28 AM

Nice to see Asham hit the ice. Too bad he didn't go to sleep.

Posted by farmer365 on December 03, 2011 at 04:16 PM

Good fight, looks like a slip up at the end on Ashams part from the bigger stronger Erskine puttin him off balance. Was gonna call it a draw to support Asham but in all fairness slight edge Erskine. Asham should still be considered the undisputed middleweight champ so far this year.

Posted by dpappas1 on December 02, 2011 at 06:59 PM

Always a good fight when Asham is involved. If only he was 6 inches taller....

Posted by Wensinkfan on December 03, 2011 at 12:41 AM

A good win by Erskine. He got more blows in plus the takedown. Nice payback.

Posted by Jellyczar on December 01, 2011 at 10:35 PM

Many hard punch's thrown with Erskine getting the better shots in.... Asham with no drama after this fight ... Winner Erskine

Posted by Sasky001 on December 02, 2011 at 11:10 AM

No showboating from Asham after that fight. Good scrap. Erskine was trying to punch Asham's head off.

Posted by mpagano22 on December 02, 2011 at 09:19 AM

No celebration tonight Ashole. Not to easy when you fight someone thats been around. Close boudt but Erskine was relentless.

Good bout, but no replay?? Who cares that Asham tooled Beagle ... win for Erskine.

Posted by bruins rule on December 02, 2011 at 08:05 AM

Posted by Don Berry on December 02, 2011 at 07:04 PM

Erksine takes care of Asham here. Good fight! A note to Asham, seriously pick on fighters that last deal vs the Caps was a disgrace. Anyway, back to hockey..

Posted by Esjay1980 on December 02, 2011 at 09:27 AM

Very close fight; at first it seemed like a clear win for Erskine, but after watching it four times, its pretty clear most of his punches missed; in the end, Erskine landed 3 solid shots to Asham's slight edge to the big fella.

Posted by m4rine77 on December 01, 2011 at 10:20 PM

i love watching erskine fight. that guy is fearless. much respect to asham though as he answered the call like a champ. no holds barred fight and much enjoyed. both guys were trying to take eachother's heads off. good, clean and entertaining draw

Posted by commander on December 02, 2011 at 10:47 AM

I love Asham, but he did an uncharacteristic celebration when he knocked out Beagle in the previous meeting with the Caps. Tonight he paid for it at the hands of one of the toughest guys in the League!

Posted by fernben8 on December 02, 2011 at 12:45 AM

Holy cow, talk about power punches ! I like these retribution fights and kudos to both, Asham for showing up and big brother Erskine for representing Beagle. Considering the size difference, Asham did very well, Would have given it a draw based on points, but giving the slightest Edge to Erskine only because Asham was not able to stay up on his feet ( and it was not a knock down). Gave it a 7. Good one boys !

Posted by thinkblue on December 02, 2011 at 01:20 AM

Great fight! Asham hasnt disappointed this year. Seems a lot of his fights are good 7s. This is a tough one but i give Erskine a slight edge

Posted by BrettB on December 05, 2011 at 04:45 PM

A lot of vicious swings by both. A slight victory to Johnny Boy. I'll give it to AA, he fought a heavy weight and held his own. Erskine always seems to throw rights with murderous intent!

Posted by Sportaholic on December 02, 2011 at 12:03 AM

I've seen Big John in some good ones recently, including against Andrew Bolton, and Big Mike Rupp in the WInter Classic, both last year. But I don't think I've ever seen him throw that hammer with such fury. And he didn't even make any mocking gestures towards his home crowd after he won the fight.

Posted by Capszilla on December 02, 2011 at 12:12 PM

Hail to Erskine. hands down. Asham's good fighter, but Erskine kicked his butt this time!

Posted by Snow-ape on December 02, 2011 at 08:24 AM

Love to see the pens fan girls showing up and telling Erskine he needs to challenge England, cause he'd get "rocked"... Like when England tapped out early with Erskine at the wc? Please, this was a code fight... Another pens fan that doesn't know hockey...

you can hear Erk laugh at the piece of trash as his punches do nothing to the superior fighter. Give Asham credit for surviving, moron doesn't realize he can't withstand dominant punching power and take his pad off. He should of turtled and saved himself some humiliation. There is no way Ashammer won this, homers are just justifying. Ignore the Hens trash.

Posted by bruins34 on December 01, 2011 at 10:24 PM

Closer fight than the ending suggests with Asham appearing to land a couple of good ones early on. But Erskine overpowers him at the end. This one had a lot of nastiness to it. Good on Erskine for stepping up.

Asham did well in defeat - a tough monkey fighting way out of his weight class against a super-heavy draft animal throwing 2000 lb. haymakers. Every Caps fan was delighted to see Big John stand up for Jay Beagle, who hasn't skated in a match since Asham dropped him in October.

Posted by sedinfan on December 02, 2011 at 12:52 AM

pen3 cups is all worried about Asham handling himself with the bigger Erskine, but I guess it is alright for Asham to take on a non fighter, knock him out and them mock him. Typical homer reaction. I like both of these fighters, but Erskine with the edge for sure.

Posted by JBar595 on December 02, 2011 at 01:05 PM

Asham is just another Avery.

Posted by Pens3Cups on December 01, 2011 at 11:52 PM

Yeah, Big deal...Erskine 6ft 4in....goes after Asham 5ft 11. for payback?? What a Joke,,,If he really wanted to fight a Hvyweight, he should have danced with Derek Engelland and he would have gotten rocked. As a matter of fact, until he landed that last shot, Asham was beating his Ginger face!...Great fight Aaron and go Pens!

Posted by johnnyrock555 on December 02, 2011 at 06:23 PM

Asham is one of my favorite players in the league. He holds up well here, though he did lose. I said when he made the good night gesture in the Beagle fight that Asham would not mind a retribution fight. He is always game no matter what. Great fight.

Posted by districtmovment on December 05, 2011 at 12:18 PM

Damn what a great one! From a Caps fan it was GLORIOUS to see the payback for poor Jay Beagle. Asham is a mean mofo and can throw with the best of them, and definitely showed how tough he was, but the winner is NASTY JOHN ERSKINE who, if anyone has ever seen/been in a streetfight, would have MURDERED Asham once he fell on top of him like that. Erskine, hands down!

Posted by FightsOfHockey on December 01, 2011 at 09:34 PM

huge haymakers thrown in this one Asham stayed in there but Erskine just got the better of him very good fight

Asham is the smaller of the two and manages to keep his head above water with some good shots early on,.. but it's like taking a .22 single shot rifle on against a Howitzer. Erskin just thunders down the punishment.

Awesome to see Asham got his a$$ kicked.

Posted by bammer24 on April 05, 2012 at 03:32 AM

Erskine makes Asham look like an idiot just for the stupid gesture from the last fight alone. Who ever said Erskine didn`t connect watch the video over and over til you see it right. Asham what a waste.By the way he also walks around 5`10" 200lbs he is no middleweight.

Posted by eaglesrule3620 on December 13, 2011 at 01:25 AM

Nice to see Asham get what was coming. Especially loved that haymaker square in the face against the glass. Anyone bitching about how Erskine's bigger...Asham went after Jay Beagle. Sure, Jay accepted the fight, but Asham accepted this fight too, so take off the fan goggles. Shittsburgh fans are the worst in any sport by far.

Double A is HARD AS F'CK....answered the bell vs the mammoth and very dangerous Erskine...and Ash held his own. Both guys throwing NASTY, NASTY shots...that had they landed...would have send someone to the hospital.

Posted by GreatMurray on December 03, 2011 at 04:52 PM

Great fight. Good job by both guys doing what they they get paid to do. Erskine lays the wood to the indian. But Asham is a tough guy...takes a licking and keeps on ticking! Erskine with a knockdown and a win.

Erskine puts Asham to sleep, Asham is a pussy

Posted by mikey178 on December 01, 2011 at 11:30 PM

I love bomb dropping. Both guys skate away satisfied, if only Ash coulda kept his skates under him we might have had more. Oh well, the sun will shine tomorrow.

Asham win? Ovie a whiny baby? Lol! First Asham is a classless tool. Erskine rocked his ass. Would loved to have seen him knock him out, the taunt him like Ali. Wait, John has class. Second, Whiny baby would go to Crosby.

Retribution fight of the first degree. Great hockey fight

Classless by the bigger, taller Erskine. I note he didn't try picking on someone his own size. Asham was all heart to earn the draw. Erskine... if you can't soundly beat someone 6 inches shorter and 25 lbs lighter, maybe time to hone your other skills

Posted by dropkick25 on December 01, 2011 at 11:19 PM

Lotta fierce bombs but really not much landing.Draw.Asham answers the call like a man for the un-Asham like showboating after dropping Beagle.Luckily for him he ducked that last right from left field by Erskine...

Posted by buzzgun2000 on December 02, 2011 at 01:45 PM

Erskine puts out the challenge to defend Beagle's honor. Asham willingly accepts and goes toe to toe with a big tough lumberjack. The finishing tackle means nothing in the outcome of a fight. Hard fought draw. lmfao DZA!

Posted by Big_Fat_Dan on December 03, 2011 at 05:32 AM

Good bout, and i have to say draw here, both getting in some good punches.

Posted by perezj on December 02, 2011 at 01:46 PM

Close fight! I like both fighters but I will give it to Asham.

Posted by bigdog2007 on December 03, 2011 at 09:38 AM

Asham is a tough litle bugger. He came looking for Erskine, he didn't run away from the much bigger heavyweight. Many props.

Posted by Kid Roberts on December 01, 2011 at 11:51 PM

Why does Erskine get this win? It was a draw or edge for Asham if anything.

Posted by Oh Canada on December 02, 2011 at 08:42 AM

No decisive winner here. Good bout. I thought Asham landed more, even popping Big E's helmet off. Slight edge to Asham.

Great fight

Posted by jschroe14 on December 02, 2011 at 01:40 PM

Asham is one ugly mofo

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on March 09, 2015 at 11:26 PM

Erskine is just a little too powerful for Asham

Posted by biglite351 on January 18, 2012 at 01:18 PM

So... The Caps were mad that 5'11 205 Asham beat up 6'3 215 Beagle and then did some mocking... so they send 6'4 220 Erskine after him. 4 inches and 10 pounds isn't enough of an advantage for the Caps, they need to try 5 inches and 15 pounds... Poor Caps...

Posted by Oil Can Henry on December 01, 2011 at 11:35 PM

...Asham needs to stick to the middleweights,....was in way-over his head in this one,...

Posted by tommyboy220 on December 02, 2011 at 02:18 AM

I don't usually comment, but had to answer Pens3, yes this was payback. Why would Erskine go after Engelland, he's not the one who made the stupid gestures in the last game. Asham did something stupid, he's the one that has to answer for it. And while i will agree, it was not a knock down, AA was definately bailing out. Erskine wasn't trying to punch AA, he was punching through him.

Posted by CloweStaubi on December 02, 2011 at 07:32 PM

wild punches

Posted by JeanLaValette on December 07, 2011 at 05:37 AM

Erskine throws some heavy bolts down on Asham...great tilt...Asham shows a great chin in a close loss to Erskine.

Posted by chad420 on December 05, 2011 at 01:33 PM

Double A pays "The Piper"....another W for Erskine

Posted by cji1065 on December 01, 2011 at 11:01 PM

No dancing here both throwing bombs . Love how both of them fight rarely see a hugfest whoever these guys fight.Slight edge to Erskine

Posted by muskokadangler on December 02, 2011 at 08:23 AM

Big Johnny E throws the hammer down on Asham!!! That was a classic tilt and asham lost but showed well in the loss :) Thats just fun fighting!!!

Posted by kkdowning on December 02, 2011 at 08:17 PM

Nice job Asham, but Erskine with the win -- more on strength than technique. Pens fans are really the worst and their comments are silly

Posted by Langway on December 02, 2011 at 08:35 AM

Of course the Pens fans are going to cry about Asham being smaller than Erskine. I notice they didn't say anything when Asham took on Beagle who had never fought before. Well done, Erskine. Even though you say it wasn't sticking up for your player we all know that's exactly what it was and that's one major reason to love hockey.

Posted by dutchman on December 02, 2011 at 09:07 AM

Ah...."Vengeance is MINE" sayeth John Erskine. It's a beautiful thing.
