great job by ovechkin, obviously didn't win the fight, but did what captains do. it was a beautiful hit, you can almost feel your wind leaving seeing that, it was a hell of a collision. in 99 out of a 100 different hockey players, everyone would be hollerin' about the captain leading his squad, gaining respect, etc etc, but since its cool to hate ovechkin, he gets no such acknowledgment. are we fight fans here, or hockey fans?

Couldn't tell if it was two old friends hugging at the airport after not seeing each other for 40 years or a wrestling/dancing act. - great hip check by Ovechkin, don't blame him for trying to fire up the team since the Caps "instigators" seem to have lost heart. Don't see how grabbing a guys shirt can be called a devastating uppercut. I suspect if they had not been winded being at the end of the shift it would have been a better fight and there is still time left. I vote for a real fight and real punches.

Posted by joeye4 on December 13, 2010 at 08:09 AM

The check was clean and the ranger announcers are idiots.

Posted by YCCKK on December 14, 2010 at 12:02 AM

now that is a captain. i respect Ovackin...more and more over the years. Probably the only player in the league i will actually make sure i watch if he's on TV.

Ovi looked slightly better than Semin in his fight. Draw.

Posted by upyours on December 12, 2010 at 10:58 PM

Two f-a-g-s drop the gloves and make out.

Posted by Big Little Tank on December 15, 2010 at 04:54 PM

Again.....Crosby dominates another category the "Great Ape" cannot. Stick to missing the net, Geico Caveman! LMAO!

Posted by Clifford1364 on December 14, 2010 at 01:28 AM

Credit to Ovechkin for dropping the gloves. I gave this fight a draw, based sorely on the fact that neither of them really landed any big shots.

Posted by Behn Wilson on December 12, 2010 at 10:46 PM

Exorcising obvious overall Capital frustration for his team's recent ''Slide-asauras Rex''... Ovechkin throws a strange, but semi-legit-looking hip check, and then practices preemptive retaliation.

Posted by brazos on December 13, 2010 at 02:00 PM

I didn't see anything on the video to give this fight to either player. Lot of swings and very little connecting.

Posted by hockey450 on December 13, 2010 at 01:02 PM

pretty much a draw, nothing great.

Posted by Langway on December 15, 2010 at 04:22 PM

I don't know how anyone can pick a clear winner here. You might not like a guy but that doesn't mean that he lost the fight. Ovechkin had someone go away from the play completely and make a run at him and he defended himself. How is that cheap? You see it all the time. This was a draw.

Posted by petiepab1 on December 14, 2010 at 10:38 AM

Slight edge Dubinsky. Nice hip check. Not a great fight, but OV steps up. That being said, I would've loved to see him get his clock cleaned. Tired of the NHL applying different rules for different players

Posted by QUIGGS22 on December 13, 2010 at 06:49 AM

Sweet hit by Ovechkin..fight was a draw.

Posted by DarylshutzSydor on December 13, 2010 at 02:03 PM

Draw, anyone who thinks Dubinsky outright won this fight is silly.

Posted by DARCY T on December 20, 2010 at 06:41 PM

oh,thats a strange results.this fight is the definition of draw.but im used to see strange results on this site.i like that hip check

Posted by tovar on December 13, 2010 at 01:59 AM

'hip hit' was awesome...

Posted by Heyzeus on December 13, 2010 at 05:49 AM

Dubinsky dominates? What the f*ck are you people watching? Are you all half retarded? DRAW

Posted by Santokh_Gill on December 13, 2010 at 05:13 AM

Great check by Ovechkin , in my eyes Dubinsky landed more body shots but ovechkins enthusiasm to start the fight , well a Draw ...biased to Ovechkin i guess , he is a remarkable player, love his style of play .

Posted by triple deke on December 12, 2010 at 09:00 PM

Nothing wrong with hit by OV. Only good part about fight was that OV was involved.

Posted by iambigd33 on December 14, 2010 at 06:29 PM

All I can say is that the Caps must not be a complete hockey team because no matter who or what started this fight everyone on the ice for the Caps should have been jumping in to protect their franchise player. No wonder they are losing however i give dubinsky a very slight edge in fight but give Ovechkin credit for dropping the gloves.

Posted by bluesrule on December 13, 2010 at 04:50 PM

OKAY well let me start off by saying ovechkin is a scorer and needs to be scoring .not fighting he shouldve went to the enforcer king or Erskine to fight this guy beacuase its obvious ovechkin cannot fight and needs a enforcer to do that they traded for king for a reason. OVECHKIN CAN DO MANY THINGS BUT FIGHTING IS NOT ONE OF THEM. BUT AS FOR THE SCRAP NO CLEAR WINNER HERE BOTH LANDED A GOOD SHOT AND THAT RELLY WANT A TAKE DOWN CLEARLY A DRAW HERE!!

Posted by rocky 1 on December 14, 2010 at 11:45 PM

Clean hit by Ovechkin and a clear draw in this tilt!

Posted by xoptimuscrimex on April 10, 2011 at 05:25 AM

just because OV fucks up your favorite player from time to time with a CLEAN hit, doesnt make him dirty. VERY clean textbook hipcheck and tho he seems to drop the gloves early on Dubs i call ot a draw. A takedown doesnt mean a win. props to O with the fact hes European and started the fight, props to Dubs for being, well, Dubs...7 and i call DRAW. How often do you see a euro captain fuck someone up then initiate a fight?

Posted by fightallnite on December 12, 2010 at 09:35 PM

good to see ovy motivate his team with a decent scrap....draw

Posted by brainumbc on December 13, 2010 at 11:02 AM

Tight one. I'd say a draw. FYI: Landing on TOP of someone doesn't mean you that person wins the fight, people.

Posted by jbaktai on December 12, 2010 at 11:09 PM

Draw, straightup said it all in his post.

Posted by Rantavahti on December 16, 2010 at 10:56 AM

I would've given a penalty for that hit, it was so obviously an "injury seeking" hit...Ovechkin is a good player but has no respect for other players

Posted by bluto1313 on December 13, 2010 at 05:01 PM

Max Talbot hit the nail on the head when it comes to Ovie.

Posted by The Mob on December 12, 2010 at 09:06 PM

Now that Ovi realizes Crosby is twice the hockey player he is, he's now trying to become a goon. The problem is that Crosby is also twice the fighter Ovi is too. Time to head to the KHL Ovi. It's over bud !!

Posted by yngblonde1 on December 13, 2010 at 10:06 AM

Did you see Ovechkins face after the fight..It was all messed up..Whats that? Oh I forgot, he is really just ugly..He jumps on a guy not expecting a fight and still gets his caveman face beat....

Posted by delos on December 13, 2010 at 02:28 PM

Yawn. Glorified slap fight after a border line cheap hit by Ovechkin during a blow out.

Posted by Clark75 on December 13, 2010 at 12:45 AM

Nice hit. Crap fight.

Posted by Big_Goon on December 13, 2010 at 05:05 PM

Caps fan for close to 30 years. I'm seriously hoping they dump their idiotic coach who can't win the big games and scratches King nightly... OV needs to take some fighting lessons, its obvious he doesn't know what he's doing. With his size and strength he could put a thumping on people (although you don't want your star dropping them). I laughed as the Caps homer announcers made it sound like OV was taking on Bob Probert. Slight edge to Dubinsky in a pretty non eventful fight. As for the MSG fans cheering OV getting injured by a puck. Classless prix...

Posted by Dammit-Man on December 15, 2010 at 05:38 PM

Ovie had a clean hit, on Girardi, followed by a Cheap shot on Dubinsky, then got his Ass Beat...lol

Posted by wheebill on December 19, 2010 at 10:20 PM

Personally, I HATE Ovechkin. His entire career has been a highlight reel of incredible goals, dirty play and an outright refusal to be accountable for his cheap shots and EVER drop the gloves. In this instance the hit was a clean hip check and to my sheer amazement, he goes after Dubinsky and drops the gloves first. Unfortunately, Ovie looked like an old lady trying to fend off a mugger with flailing her purse with the weak lefts he attempted. Dubinsky throws the more meaningful, telling blows.

Posted by ghjkfdhgfd on December 12, 2010 at 10:41 PM

Posted by LA KING FANATIC on December 13, 2010 at 11:28 AM

Ovechkin is a great offensive player no doubt, but he needs to stick to scoring as he can not score a punch in this one. A clean hip check and then he jumps Dubinsky. He was acting out of frustration for sure but am I the only one who thinks his family has Neanderthal blood in it? That is one ugly dude, That commercial he did where his head is in the kid's locker haunts my dreams...crap!

Posted by Jellyczar on March 09, 2017 at 04:17 PM

Not an everyday check from Alex... so he gets tuned up by Dubinsky

Posted by Juha82 on December 13, 2010 at 08:04 AM

Dubinsky with the NARROW WIN for landing best shots. Ovy with cheap eartly-punch.

Posted by bruins rule on December 12, 2010 at 10:51 PM

dubinsky gets the win in this fight.

Posted by slavv on December 14, 2010 at 02:43 PM

Yes, the hip check was legal, and yes, Dubinsky won the fight, but he should've been able to handle punk-ass Ovechkin much more easily than that...

Posted by Willy WILL on December 16, 2010 at 07:50 PM

Dubinsky with then win. OV showing a bit of heart for a change this season. Good to see his name on the score sheet!

Posted by h8zkingpin on December 13, 2010 at 09:38 AM

I dont think ovie hit him even once. Win Dubinsky for actually landing something

Posted by j sto on December 13, 2010 at 06:17 PM

Wow his gloves arent glued on. About time he answers the bell for himself instead of letting others always do it. Win Dubi.

Posted by elp20 on December 15, 2010 at 10:52 AM

This fight sucked...ovie fights like a 13 year old girl

Posted by Pellatzo on December 13, 2010 at 03:45 PM

I actually think Ovechkin does well for a guy who doesn't fight often. Dubinsky should have beat him to a pulp. I don't like the hit he threw. He squared up like he was going to go shoulder to shoulder then drops down and throws the hip into Girardi. I don't think it was a "cheap" shot but it definitely was a chicken 'bleep' hit. Ovechkin wants to go shoulder-to-shoulder, go for it. Don't drop down and throw a hip check.

Posted by pope414 on December 28, 2013 at 02:34 PM

Ovechkin tried to jump Brandon but bit off more than he should of. It was a bush move the sneak attack but Dubinsky more than held his own he won the fight. Alex should be a man and square up and drop them . I think if he did that Dubinsky would have destroyed Alex.

Posted by slshbleed on December 12, 2010 at 09:59 PM

How many times have you seen an enforcer put a hit on a guy and then skate to a guy that fights or wait for a guy that fights to come to him? That is exactly what the little O does (the big O will always be Oprah Winfrey). I like it. Little O seems to be a red ass to some degree.

Posted by range on December 13, 2010 at 08:29 AM

He is no Crosby. He is just mad that he is now the 3rd best player in the league and tumbling down that list.

Posted by pirate19 on December 13, 2010 at 11:53 AM

has anyone noticed that OVECHKIN looks significantly smaller then last year this having coincided with the steroid scandal involving the Capitals trainer and admissions that a supplier of steroids was making them available to members of the Caps----just a though, but I would have believed that someone else would have noticed this

Posted by jacobbealsabres on February 22, 2011 at 03:21 PM

ovy is awesome he can hit very well and score goals that fight was close

Posted by Jflah53 on December 15, 2010 at 02:49 PM

Dubinsky in a close one. I was under the impression if a player initiates a fight WITH A SHIELD ON , he gets an x-tra 2 minutes, a major & ten minute misconduct. Oh yeah, just caught myself, it was OVECHKIN that did that !! SUPERSTAR STATUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by swjankovic on December 13, 2010 at 08:36 AM

Ovenchicken has been a dirt bag his entire career. While this wasn't a dirty hit, I wish Dubinsky would have drawn blood.

Posted by tattooedkingpin on December 13, 2010 at 12:41 AM

clean hit. nice to see Ovie answer for his own actions. edge Dubinsky

Posted by staceyb on December 13, 2010 at 05:57 AM

Dubi got Ovie in this one. Ovie was showing his frustration with the Caps poor performance of late and in this particular game. Ovie is lucky he didn't take on Prust. Near the end of the game Ovie took a slapshot on the inside part of his right leg and he limped back to the bench. The Garden crowd was cheering loudly at his injury.

Posted by tonydomi1 on December 13, 2010 at 05:51 PM

Stick to scoring goals Ovechkin! You got a couple of cheap shots in early and still got your ass handed to you. Too bad you can't fight as good as you throw those hip checks.

Posted by no123one on December 13, 2010 at 01:05 AM

Ovechkin loses again and is now 0-2 in the NHL both against smaller opponents. For a big guy with apparently good balance, Ovechkin is a huge pussy.

Posted by FotiuNystrom on December 13, 2010 at 08:25 AM

Good stiff hit from O on Girardi. Then looks to see who's comin',and its Duby..Spirited exchange, Props to both for stepping up for their team, narrow win Dubinsky

Posted by giantsfrey on December 12, 2010 at 09:33 PM

ovi's hit was great--maybe a little late though... but then he went and jumped dubinsky out of the blue. that was odd. he must be pretty frustrated with how much he and his team suck, now losing 6 straight and him dropping off the board in the points race. as far as the fight goes, dubinsky recovered quickly after ovi jumped him, then got the slight edge with a couple connections. i'd have sure liked to see ovi's first fight involve him leaving the ice with a bloody face, but oh well. at least he got punched.

Posted by rangers16 on December 12, 2010 at 09:22 PM

ov first to drop the mits then dubi feeds him some upper cuts and gets the take down, dubi all the way. Love seeing players like this fight

Posted by jtl6713 on December 16, 2010 at 10:08 AM

Good for Dubinski for sticking up for his teamate. I'm suprised as I thought Ovenchkin was a better fighter than that. He looked weak....

Posted by shawn46 on December 13, 2010 at 09:13 AM

About time Ovie drops his purse and decides to fight... and looses... Suprised that he actually looked for that .... and as to what captain wins fights? You know the answer he's sitting in PGH. AND... what was up with the Ref assist???

Posted by EastKing on December 13, 2010 at 02:35 AM

Nice to see Ovie finally drop the gloves, though he did not win. After seeing Crosby's post fight success in the goal scoring department Ovie thought it was time to do the same thing. Edge Dubinsky but good to see Ovie finally throw em.

Posted by JaCort16 on December 12, 2010 at 09:25 PM

WHAT? Ovi has lost his mind. He actually fought, and did not have Bradley jump in for him?/ He lost.....so not only is he losing in the discussion of best player, he is also losing fight. At least he actually fought....I think he would at least beat Semin in a slap fight. Hahaha. What a punk.

Posted by Whoabot on December 12, 2010 at 09:13 PM

Rangersfan10, you are an idiot. I'll grant you Dubinsky wins the fight, but that's not a cheap shot. Just because a guy's down on the ice afterward doesn't make it dirty. It was a hipcheck, thrown above the knees and not from the blindside - it's CLEAN, you miscreant. Secondly, Semin punches? Those are PUNCH punches, not bongo punches, you blind moron. And it's a loss less of a hugfest than what is normally called a hugfest. Here's how it went down in the *real world*: Ovechkin catches Girardi with a *CLEAN* hip check - Dubinsky has some words for him after they skate off, they drop the gloves, punches are thrown, jerseys are tugged. Ovechkin misses a few punches, Dubinsky lands more than he does, plus scores the takedown. Decision Dubinsky. Also "The Mob" is a dolt for the ages. One season in which Crosby outscores Ovechkin and suddenly he's "twice the hockey player" - give me a break. RETARD.

Dubinsky with the win.

Posted by The_Superhoo on January 02, 2011 at 03:45 PM

Love seeing Ovie drop gloves! Gave it to Dubinsky for the takedown.

Posted by fernben8 on December 13, 2010 at 11:56 AM

Absolutely nothing wrong with the hip check... Agreeing with 'Behn Wilon' that this is mostly due to Capital frustration, Caps should be ashamed that Ove had to take matters into his own hand. Where's King ? Props to both fighters...Ove for leading as a 'C'. Can't fault Dubi, as he was jumped... (On a lighter note, to what we saw...I really think Crosby can take Ove any day ! )

Posted by Chalupa on December 16, 2010 at 01:36 PM

After watching Oforeskins 2 "fights" so far....he had better be glad that b1tch Bradley jumped in to fight Downie last year. Diggity would've sent him back to the stoneage. ...Edge Dubinsky in this one...just because he got jumped and still held his own landing a few uppercuts and taking Cptn. Caveman to the ice.

Posted by Bustert13 on December 13, 2010 at 12:27 PM

First off I'd like to say koodo's to the rangers fans that realized it was a good CLEAN hip check by Ove. to the rest of you ranger homiers your really need to get a life. Wah Wah Wah..it was a cheap shot..really it was hip to hip..that's called a hip check in the real hockey world and it's legal. Dubinsky with the narrow win in the fight..although he has had a few more fights than Ovi I thought he should have done better,, but still a win for dubinski.

Posted by Caps44 on December 13, 2010 at 11:18 AM

Frustration ruled the night, yet again, for OV and his troops. (The pipes around the Rangers net must have bruises today.) Dubinsky has a lot more practice fighting in the NHL, and should have done better. At least it was a very clean fight. Bradley just needs to teach Ovy how to fight properly.

Posted by HMai802915 on December 13, 2010 at 10:05 AM

Dubi with the win!!

Posted by mrwhale on December 12, 2010 at 11:52 PM

Posted by flpole on December 12, 2010 at 10:15 PM

Ovie is a bitch!

Posted by ThogSmash on December 13, 2010 at 01:20 AM

Ehh I give Ovie credit for dropping the gloves, doesn't change the fact that he lost though. That was about the only emotion the Caps showed all night!

Posted by nyrbaker on December 13, 2010 at 12:34 PM

Ovi jumped him..punk move. if they square off, Dubi would send him back to Russia.

Posted by Bluetiedown44 on December 13, 2010 at 12:16 AM

Dubinksky had to overcome the surprise more than the punches thrown. Weird hit by Ovechkin then he decides to fight Dubinksy, who handles the fight. Ovechkin does knock Dubinksy's helmet off, but that is about all. You can tell how strong Ovechkin is by Dubinsky working on him for awhile. Surprised Ovechkin didn't get an instigator, just kidding, no call.

Posted by sbutler05420 on December 15, 2010 at 02:52 AM

Ovie was a little too mad for his own good in this one. If he keeps his head he takes this match. Props to Brandon for stickin em with a few good shots and getting the takedown

Posted by pensuck87 on December 13, 2010 at 10:47 AM

not bad. i personally love the way ovechkin plays. it's a physical game and he's one of THE BEST hitters in the league. someone with that many hits is bound to have a so called "dirty" one here and there, just part of hockey i guess. glad to see actually him do something when someone runs their mouth to him. cuz thats all people do. that's what a captain is supposed to do. i wish he did these kind of things more often!

Posted by MrMagooo on December 14, 2010 at 07:12 PM

Ovi should stick to taking runs and shooting

Posted by GarthButcher on December 13, 2010 at 02:46 AM

Clean hit. Ovie throws with both hands! Judging by this footage, I think Crosby could take him. All in all, some good entertainment.

Posted by truby12 on December 13, 2010 at 12:46 PM

Clean hit by ovie. Girardi is going to have a pretty nice charlie horse bruise though. Props to ovechkin for trying to motivate his team, he was looking to fight someone. Gave it to dubinsky for landing more.

Posted by billgoldberg14 on December 14, 2010 at 09:41 AM

Win Dubinsky. Ovechkin tried to pull a Crosby and catch Dubinsky off guard and it didn't work.

Posted by Aussie Muzz on December 13, 2010 at 07:42 AM

I feel the need to weigh in, given the amount ofname calling being bandied around. Declaring my bias, if any, as a Penguins fan, I would have said Ovy was very frustrated, that he took a fight that came his way and he was outclassed. The hit was clean, that much is obvious and whilst you can argue that Ovy "jumped" Dubinsky somewhat he put himself in a position to expect that sort of reaction. A good player not performing up to his high expectations and getting frustrated, watch him nail a hat-trick next start.

Posted by Waridin on December 14, 2010 at 10:59 AM

Dubinsky threw more, landed more, even with him not dropping the gloves first. Ovie can't win at anything right now.

Posted by drowninpeace on December 12, 2010 at 10:28 PM

As a Ranger fan I respect OV(hate crosby). This was Ovechkin obviously trying to amp up his team after so many losses in a row and a horrible mid-game deficit. This fight was very close but it still clearly goes to Dubinsky.(If Crosby did this I'm sure I'd be outraged, at least I can admit it) I'm quite upset because I was about to get a ticket to this game tonight and I missed the 5:00 deadline to buy and download tickets by just a couple minutes. I was already dressed in my game jersey. Damn- I couldn't have missed a better game for the Rangers.

Posted by saapgh on October 14, 2011 at 09:14 PM

Posted by Jordybats99 on March 06, 2016 at 04:34 PM

Pretty good fight. Edge Dubinsky.

Posted by shaggykd on December 13, 2010 at 11:37 AM

I used to love watching Dubinski when he played in Portland for the Winterhawks. So I guess my vote is a little bias.

Posted by skierleeub on December 13, 2010 at 12:00 AM

Clean hit and then Ovie looks for a fight to fire up his team which failed to show up tonight. Kudos to him, I doubt you'll see Crosby do that unless he can land a cheap shot first. Dubinsky gets the edge for a couple late uppercuts, but Ovechkin definitely held his own. Just good, old-time hockey here.

Posted by Wensinkfan on December 13, 2010 at 10:27 AM

Its about time this "great one" dropped the gloves. He did not win the fight but its so far from the point. The point is he acted like a man for a change rather than pound guys all night and be able to say no to challenges. He dropped em first, fought and lost. Now he's like everyone else. And a GREAT win for Dubinsky.

Posted by lb1631 on December 13, 2010 at 10:44 AM

Dubinsky with a narrow win. I wish the two announcers would shut the f...k up. Nice clean check by Ovechkin. Nice job by Dubinsky. Cheap early punch by Ovechkin.

Posted by Laserman on December 13, 2010 at 09:49 AM

Not a good night for the Craps! Give Ovie credit for trying to fire up his team, but the results are epic fail! Dubi with easy win!

Dubinsky isn't even ready for the Ovie won Konobi train and he still takes him down to the approval of the MSG faithful, Ovie got his own later in the game when he took a puck to the groin... ha

Posted by TonyDanza on December 13, 2010 at 01:09 PM

Glad to see Ovechkin finally dropping the gloves (even if he did get thrown on the ice)...hopefully, this won't be a one-time thing.

Posted by True Blue on December 14, 2010 at 12:55 PM

Win to Dubi, landed a couple nice uppercuts. Props to Ovi for trying to get his team going, with a fairly clean hit, but he's still a d-bag, he started swinging at Dubi before he could even drop his stick and gloves.

Posted by rangersfan10 on December 12, 2010 at 08:56 PM

Ovi throws a cheap hit at Girardi. Dubi stares him down so Ovi wants to go and Ovi starts hugging dubi and throwing semin punches and then dubi gets 2 good upper cuts and takes ovi down. Ovi is a cheap shot artist

Posted by 5minmajor22 on December 12, 2010 at 11:04 PM

Ovie tried to rally his troops with a cheap low hit on Girardi. Future captain Dubinsky gave out a good beating. Win with authority to Dubinsky!

I was suprised Dubinsky fought as well as he did against Ovie, a guy who you would think would destroy a middleweight like Dubi. I'm giving the win to Dubi.

Posted by ItalianHunk21 on December 13, 2010 at 11:24 AM

Wow! Great job Dubi! Nice haymakers!

Posted by ORR TO THE BOX on December 13, 2010 at 10:29 PM

Who even voted for ovie? lol prob all the ovie lovers...faggggots

Posted by cppalermo on December 13, 2010 at 10:08 AM

HAHA Ovie got dropped and it was well deserved. What a baby ovie is...he goes out of his way to put a hit on Girardi which in my opinion was fine but then he goes after Dubinsky only to get dropped. I also think he went after duby because he has more goals than him this year LOL Clear win Dubby, Ovie go back hooome your not cool! What a pussy, finally this guys true colors are coming out. Ever since he snowed the little kid in Montreal I have lost total respect for him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyOA7SRPwxU

Posted by jhurl on January 21, 2011 at 01:38 PM

Ove is a loser who can't fight. he sucks massive balls. dubinsky beat him down while ovi sucked balls

Posted by ballgame247 on December 29, 2011 at 12:40 PM

the funny part is ovi never won a fight and he never will. he is the biggest wimp ever crosby would destroy him any time.

Posted by mb1679 on December 14, 2010 at 10:51 AM

Dubie did pretty good for being jumped by Ovie. As for Ovechkin i was really disappointed in what i saw. He should probably stay away from Crosby in future games so he doesnt risk getting embarrassed.

Posted by nypd6476 on December 13, 2010 at 12:31 AM

Man you Ranger fans have nothing better to do. You guys are probably the only ones who vote and only vote for your own team. Come on be honest, I am a Kings fan so I really don't care but all three guys on the Rangers that fought all lost by landslides. It wasn't even close. You guys are a bunch of p*****s. Do you know anything about fighting. Come on

Posted by Detroit_Caps on December 13, 2010 at 08:36 PM

Ovie landed more shots and the best one, just lost the tug of war. . for being only his second fight, Dubinisky should of done way better. Win Ovie Of course the Hens have to come in a say Ovie lost pffft whatever, that first jab would of taken Cindys head off

Posted by jschroe14 on December 13, 2010 at 08:51 AM

Best thing about this was the great hit by Ovechkin.

Posted by m4rine77 on December 12, 2010 at 09:43 PM

oh my god there's just no winning for ovechkin. first everyone calls him a punk for never fighting and now that he finally does he's a punk for getting in a fight? tell me how that makes sense. this is obviously not a fair vote because everyone who doesn't have ovechkin on their team hates him. EVERYONE'S going to be voting against him so what's the point anyways. i'm losing all respect for this website when i see all the ovechkin haters and no one actually reviewing the fight. kinda pathetic. now for the fight, i guess you could say that ovechkin lost but not nearly as bad as everyone thinks, he threw a couple good punches that either missed or hit the helmet. he fought finally and evidently he's still a b*tch? i guess that makes sense. he's a captain sticking up for his losing team that's all. get over all the jealousy and review the fight

Posted by 5fourfighten on December 13, 2010 at 09:21 AM

Great hit. Regardless of what those 2 moronic commentators say. OV went at Dubinsky, who had no choice to defend himself. Dubinsky wasnt sticking up for anyone. Slight advantage to OV. Way to many homers voting on this one.

Posted by Les_Habitants on December 12, 2010 at 10:28 PM

Ovechkin he very angry and wins. Mais ze announcer he really is crap no?

Posted by timlol on December 12, 2010 at 09:06 PM

Decent attempt at a first real fight for Ovechkin. Pretty even. @rangersfan10 Cheap hit? Take off your homer glasses - that was as clean as it gets.

Posted by tpr1960 on December 13, 2010 at 06:04 PM

Great hit ! And good to see Ovechkin fight . He was the aggressor for sure . And the Rangers still suck .

Posted by laughriot on December 13, 2010 at 03:53 PM

Hard to say which of these punches landed, but it was a good bout overall. Ovechkin got some good shots in at first, Dubinsky countered, and Ovechkin got in what appeared to be a temple shot at the end whereupon Dubs decided he'd had enough and went for the takedown.

Posted by Sportaholic on December 13, 2010 at 09:37 PM

clean hip check, dubinsky confronts ovechkin for the second time in the game, ovie drops gloves trying to fire up his team. they cut the part after the fight when ovie skated towards his bench and tried to get his team fired up.

Posted by Double Nickels on December 24, 2010 at 01:17 AM

Good on 'em.

Posted by bubblehockey1 on December 12, 2010 at 09:30 PM

Nice win by Ovi. He obviously got the better shots in and then Dubinsky just fell on top of him. Pathetic for an experienced fighter like Dubinsky.

Posted by wrburket on December 14, 2010 at 11:42 AM

I'll tell you why i picked Ovie. Not ONLY did he land a HUGE hip check. . and a clean one at that. . but there was some jawing going on before, and Ovie wen't after. No B/S. . just Clocks Dubie. Ovie takes a few shots. . but eats an uppercut, and right after CLEARLY phases Dubie with the hit that follows. As soon as Dubie lost his helmet from the russian tanks headshot. . he folds. . and tries to take him down. Take a look at the last shot taken by Ovie. Dubie's helmet goes FLYING, and Dubie hugs him. . is clearly tired. . and falls to the Ice. I give Ovie the Win.

Posted by graserk on December 28, 2010 at 05:38 PM

Ovechkin with the win. Not sure what some other people were watching...

Posted by worldwatcher on March 23, 2023 at 08:43 PM

Ovechkin is a coward. He has fought 3 times and never a guy his size.

Posted by Oil Can Henry on December 12, 2010 at 10:06 PM

Good show,...nice job by Ovechkin. Good, clean hit....that's the way to play hockey! Not a "run", either,...plain, old-fashioned hip-check. Fight was a draw with Dubinsky just trying to wrestle him down. Homer-vote will get the Ranger a bogus "W", no doubt.

Posted by biglite351 on December 13, 2010 at 10:31 AM

Draw - they looked like highchool girls trying to fight! HA!

Posted by Andyman on December 14, 2010 at 09:35 PM

at least Ovy actually fights unlike the other major NHL superstar who prefers to hit players in the nuts while they are being held down

Posted by Tony Esposito on December 12, 2010 at 10:35 PM

Nothing wrong with the hit, fight was a draw.

Posted by bustsomechops on December 13, 2010 at 01:37 AM

What the hell is wrong with Ovechkin and Semin. They throw the weakest punches I've ever seen. They shouldn't be fighting. If they actually landed a punch the other guy would laugh at them. Hey Whoabot, watch the video again you blind dipshit, particularly Ovechkin's lefts. If you think those are PUNCH punches then you are a bigger pussy than Ovechkin. Those would probably knock your bitch ass out.

Posted by tiggs on December 13, 2010 at 11:51 AM

ovenchkin trying to get his team going throws a not so questionable hit then drops the gloves and gets punched in the face... i am going to agree that crosby could take ove

Posted by piney on December 13, 2010 at 04:42 PM

would have like to seen him get popped in the nose. Ovie is one of the dirtiest players in the NFL

Posted by straightup on December 13, 2010 at 12:37 AM

Hey at least he didn't do the Semin slap-fest routine. Good for Ovi trying to fire up his team. I don't think he liked that uppercut so maybe he'll stick to scoring goals. What's with the linesman trying to prevent Ovi from fighting? He's freakin' huge, let him man up. That wasn't a cheap hit. Hip to hip and the puck had only just left. Hey what the hell was Bruce Boudreau complaining about? His guy threw the hit, his guy wanted the fight... PS - TAKEDOWNS NEVER SCORE POINTS! A takedown is a way out of a fight. Why do people think it's a fighting move? You'd think guys on this site would know what a fight is, but oh no bail out by tripping a guy and you're a friggin' legend.

Posted by dropkick25 on December 13, 2010 at 08:47 PM

Think the hit was clean.Wasn't much of a fight but give Dubinsky the edge.Looked like he landed the only two.He has more fights than Ovi but most not very good ones....Good win this time being he got the late start...

Posted by trueblue3044 on December 12, 2010 at 10:03 PM

Duby with some nice uppercuts and out-muscles Ovi. Clear W for Dubinsky. And bubblehockey1 i hope youre joking. ovechkin did not land one punch. you are either blind or retarded. and rangersfan10 please stop being such a homer. that was a beautiful hit

Posted by rudyk on December 12, 2010 at 11:41 PM

Did Ovechkin's mom drink a lot while pregnant?...

Posted by JBox3 on December 13, 2010 at 01:28 PM

Ovie has no class. Good clean hit, but to jump a guy afterwards? He's a punk thats steamed about being removed from the "Best player in the world" talk this season.

Posted by chad420 on December 13, 2010 at 09:27 PM

edge Doobie ....Ovis a dirty player...face it

Posted by hok1n on December 12, 2010 at 11:20 PM

I used to like players like Ovechkin & Sid. Till I really watched them play, and they deserve there titles as cheap shot artists. Although this hit was semi legal, knowing Ovie I would have assumed it was dirty.

Posted by jcstokes on December 13, 2010 at 12:35 PM

Dubes takes this one against a very frustrated Ovechkin, who had a great hit on Girardi. Ovechkin was looking for something. He didn't find it though.

Posted by tim daddy on December 13, 2010 at 12:06 PM

hey no problem with either of these guys, they gave it a go , and did their best, however once again you can see the slime covered mandate of the buttman/campell duo being carried out by the ref, yes folks we will eventually make this sport into the NBA. oh yeah, edge dubinsky

Posted by BigBadBruins68 on December 22, 2010 at 10:20 PM

Win for Dubinsky, it was surprising to see Ovechkin go looking for a fight after the hit. The hit looked to be alright, but then he goes looking for a fight, like he's trying to paint a target on his back. Well, he found a fight, and he lost.

Posted by gatgarson on December 13, 2010 at 04:43 AM

Nice hipcheck, don't see many of those these days. Dubinsky clearly won the fight; I'm surprised Ovie doesn't throw them better, he does everything else well. Clearly some frustration there with his team struggling. Good job guys...not too exciting but all done by the book.

Posted by Fast Hawk on December 12, 2010 at 11:57 PM

Go Brandon!!!! Good hit by # 8

Posted by Snoka on December 12, 2010 at 09:31 PM

Cheap hit Obitchkin and then he loses the fight.

Posted by jhm8071 on December 12, 2010 at 10:07 PM

Dubinsky with the (marginal) win.

Posted by 1fatchub on December 13, 2010 at 12:30 PM

Did ya'll see those uppercuts? Dubinsky was outweighed and still took it to Ovechkin sticking up for his teamate, nice

Posted by callahan2strong on December 12, 2010 at 10:29 PM

Dubi with the win. Watching this game live, I figured Dubi was sticking up for Girardi after Ovi destroyed him, but it was Ovechkin that really initiated. The hit was clean, don't worry, not every Rangers fan is crazy. It just caught Girardi by surprise to see Ovechkin come in so low. Too bad this fight had the reverse effect for the Caps; Rangers went on to put in 3 more after the fight... LET'S GO RANGERS!

Posted by Rags4Life on December 12, 2010 at 09:36 PM

Dubi's uppercuts wins the fight for him. Good on OV for trying to fire up his boys

Posted by NYRfan1724 on December 14, 2010 at 04:39 PM

It was a good clean hit on Girardi and Dubinsky said after the game he wasn't going after Ovechkin, he was just going to see if Girardi was ok. Girardi said he knew a hit was coming, but was expecting shoulder to shoulder. Rangers won 7-0.

Posted by Sather-Satan on December 12, 2010 at 11:13 PM

Hit was odd but clean(ish). Ovie probably should have gotten the extra 2. Fight was solid, nice job by Ovie, but Dubbie clearly dominates. I dont get it, since Ovie is way bigger and stronger. Hmm, doubt Crosby will be picking any fights with Dubs after this showing.

Posted by TrueBlue26 on December 12, 2010 at 10:02 PM

atta boy dubie!

Posted by rocky7482 on December 13, 2010 at 03:25 PM

I gave this one to OV simply because he dropped the gloves. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come, and the day arrives that he can be called a legitimate power forward
