Every goon or so-called enforcer in the league needs to watch this. This is what every goon should do when they run in to Steve Downie. Try to punch his head off.

Downie has a bald patch on the back of his head in the shape of four knuckles. I don't mind Carkner fighting a smaller guy, they've wanted Downie since he took one of their guy's head off. Downie had the option to skate away but shoved Carkner into the net, so game on.

mcb I love you, you are such a gender bender. You must shop on "both" sides of the isle if you know what I mean. Perhaps you were thinking that Downie was in the red sweater. Complete beat down from Carkner. Downie is a yapper cheap shot artist ala Dino Ciccarelli in his early days, much as I hated him, Dino turned into a goal scorer. Downie will always be a punk.

it was only a matter of time before someone beat downie like this. downie is cheap and dirty and i doubt this will be the last time someone beats his sorry ass

Any time Downie barks up the wrong tree and gets his azz handed to him, it's a good day.

Carkner just too big and strong for Downie.Downie should stick to fighting the middleweights!

Carkner fed Downie fists all the way. Downie was outclassed.

Downie picks a fight with a bigger badder Carkner who obliges him. Carkner did what he wanted to do all night and that's beat the snot out of that little dirt bag.

As for the guys hating on Carkner, if Downie didn't want to throw down he didn't have to, but he's just not that smart!

Why would you give him slack for being a smaller guy? If he is going to play cheap and push the big boys he has to be prepared to back it. size is not a factor. at least he dropped the gloves. good on Carkner for giving it to him. If you are a little and dont want to get beat up then don't push the big boys and keep your mouth shut!! Lets stop making excuses for little guys. This is a man's game and if you can't handle it play soccer.
