It is close to Valentine's Day, you know! ;)

Posted by Taubi on February 08, 2009 at 11:53 PM

Boring, i think its a Draw! Boulton landet 1-2 good rights, but not enough for a clear win.

Posted by Flyers5532 on February 08, 2009 at 07:20 PM

Everyone that says cote is hanging on is an idiot. Boulton has both arms wrapped around cote while he is trying to punch him. At the end boulton threw more punches because i think he wore him down draww nothing landed.

Posted by hal29 on February 09, 2009 at 07:45 PM

i call it a draw one punch landed by baulton one by cote, boring fight none the less

Posted by Belak_Norris on February 09, 2009 at 12:00 PM

Nothing much happening, Boulton's shots hit air or jersey, draw!

Posted by FlyersDosage on February 09, 2009 at 05:23 AM

Part 1 - Cote Part 2 - Boulton Result: DRAW Both guys got in shots but nobody really controlled the fight either way. Of course, Cote's hair flailing around makes it appear he got hit ... really most of those to the back of the head. Good for Cote to stand up for his teamates. Later on when Boulton put a puck into the Flyers net on a delayed call...he should have been pummeled for being a punk. I think it suprised me that people voted Boulton the winner here...I know the type of broadcast plays a huge role in how it's "perceived" as well. You hear the PHilly broadcast & you may lean towards Cote, although Keith Jones also called it a draw on that broadcast for the exact reasons I did.

Posted by wildbunch on February 08, 2009 at 09:03 PM

What do you guys watch on here? There was no way this was a win for Boulton. This is a straight up draw!

Posted by dcmac on February 08, 2009 at 07:41 PM

That was a clear draw.

Posted by Flyersfan4life2 on February 09, 2009 at 10:13 PM

Umm i dont think boulton did much in this fight but hug cote. Cote started early and boulton kind of answered at the end. Boulton didnt dominate. Why does everyone hate cote. THe man does his job well. He puts on good fights and he stands up to anyone. The never back down attitude is what you need.

Posted by Riley32 on February 09, 2009 at 03:51 AM

cote has changed....its disappointing....is he saving his energy for his four minutes of "hockey"? clearly a draw....you people need to mute the video

Posted by BSTnougat on February 09, 2009 at 08:38 PM

I'm guessing Riley is getting just as tired of getting punched in the face as we are of seeing it, cuz he's been really huggy his last couple bouts. That being said, he actually landed a few this time, but he still lost the fight.

Posted by ticktickboom on February 09, 2009 at 04:21 PM

Alright i give it a draw for the fact that buulton did alot of hugging at the begining but he landed way more at the end

Posted by Liberal Flyer on February 08, 2009 at 08:47 PM

Your a bunch of nimrods. If any of you ever watched boulton fight all he does is hug that is his style. Cote is a rock and sock em tack some and give some. I'm not going to say Cote won or drew, He lost. He is also one of the toughest men in the nhl. If I wanted a team mate it would be Cote. Boulton is a hugger. At least my team isnt afraid to rock the barn.

Posted by oilersfansylvan on February 10, 2009 at 08:12 PM

Weird scrap...two strong guys

Posted by Cid on February 08, 2009 at 07:44 PM

yawn. Boulton beats Cote again.

Posted by tyrone on February 08, 2009 at 08:51 PM

Cote absolutely sux. I could kick his @$$.

Posted by Remyy on February 10, 2009 at 12:11 PM

dumb jerseys. what is this football...

Posted by nighthawk walt on February 08, 2009 at 11:13 PM

Started off as a terrible fight, picked up at the end.Boulton with the win.all Cote did was hug and eye gouge.

Posted by tiburon4 on February 10, 2009 at 06:37 PM

A root canal would've been better than this! But Boulton got more punches in, wins.

Posted by trpaulson on February 10, 2009 at 02:43 PM

Boulton wins. Cote wrestled too much.

Posted by moore33 on February 08, 2009 at 08:31 PM

idc how bad people say cote is, he does have a huge heart and will take on anyone he needs to, thats why i would give him some respect

Posted by Muscles on February 09, 2009 at 07:02 PM

Boulton wanted to fight, and Cote wanted to hold on. Not a great fight, but Boulton punched enough to win.

Posted by balddyd on February 08, 2009 at 07:56 PM

see cote like to throw em'. he doesn't like a fight plan

Posted by Jellyczar on February 09, 2009 at 08:31 PM

Boulton slight edge...... Cote is the modern day Keith Magnuson.... a whipping boy.

Posted by Gunslinger on February 08, 2009 at 08:28 PM

Why did Cote bother?Boulton easy. I see MCB789's meds wore off already. Now he has a man-crush on me. I'm flattered!

Posted by capsfloors on February 08, 2009 at 06:58 PM

Not a normal Cote fight as he didn't seen to have the energy he usually does in these scraps. Lots of hugging early, Boulton late as the much more active fighter.. I can see this as a Draw..but I thought slight edge Boulton.

Posted by Dampland on February 09, 2009 at 08:04 PM

BORING - 1:50 of hugging, and 10 seconds of punches, BOULTON with easy win

Posted by evol_lurk on February 09, 2009 at 08:16 AM

Boulton more active, win Boulton. What was Cote trying to achive?

Posted by adambomb13 on February 09, 2009 at 03:40 PM

Agree with PaddyD, Cote has HUGE heart but he's going to get killed soon. Cote always answers the bell but the Flyers need a legit tuff guy as do my Blackhawks who have Matt Walker as our top cop. Asham needs to be the top cop here as he can always hold his own and does not get beat down night after night. I really do appreciate Cote and Walker to the 10th power. Hey Flyers, we got a guy named Ben Eager... W to Michael Boulton.

Posted by bsbully32 on February 08, 2009 at 11:53 PM

I don't understand it. All Cote does anymore is grab and get pummeled. He doesn't knocked down usually, but he rarely wins. Would love to see him throw some hay-makers, because watching him get beat every night is starting to get depressing.

Posted by firefightnchuck on February 16, 2009 at 04:33 PM

in the past when the flyers played the rough suff , then to us in phila they had no draws just an asskicking or a loss the asskickers the flyers had won five out of six most of the time.. cote would have been long gone back then but we want a stanley cup now and with all the euros playing now it not feesable to pay 4 or 5 enforcers who just can fight... the game has changed so much dem day will soon be lost forever besides a great check is alot better than these modern fights but i could be wrong......rick tocchet ,probert, w clarke, cam neely .where have you gone........

Posted by bruiseyoureye on February 09, 2009 at 03:36 PM

started out as hugfest...then bolton got loose and beat the shhiitt out of cote......mopped up the ice with his long straggly medusa looking hair.....cote sucks.....win to bolton

Posted by fishquad on February 10, 2009 at 07:31 PM

hufest turned into a couple good hits

Posted by wannago on February 08, 2009 at 07:06 PM

Why does Miley Cootie even try anymore. He got owned by Boulton last time they fought. It just happened again. As soon as Cootie decided to stop trying to make out with the guy, he ate about 7 big rights to the head and face. This was a long fight with a lot of hugging by Cootie. In the end Boulton tooled him. Win Eric Boulton.

Posted by powpow on February 09, 2009 at 01:26 PM

Seriously have to be a homer to try and justify a Cote win here...I mean do you think your voting changes what we all watched? Not a great tilt anyhow, but one guy clearly controlled and landed and one did not. The Flyers have some serious issues on the toughness front when you think they other option is Gratton. Yikes...

Posted by joaquin on February 09, 2009 at 11:29 AM

Another manhandling of Cote by Boulton.

Posted by paddyd on February 09, 2009 at 11:21 AM

I can appreciate the loyalty of the flyer fans but lets give this man a break before he ends up a punch drunk. He's no legit heavyweight and in the background sits Gratton who is even worse. Flyers need a legit heavy. One can certainly admire RC but come on the man is taking some serious hits. I can't remember the last time I saw him without 2 black eyes. Not an interesting fight and the edge goes to boulton.

Posted by huddles on February 08, 2009 at 07:33 PM

boulton with win, by the way, they were both holding on

Posted by jealeman on February 11, 2009 at 02:11 AM

Wow...Kotex was owned...AGAIN! Win for Boulton...

Posted by Bad Dawg on February 10, 2009 at 04:01 PM

You got to like Cote for trying!!

Posted by Lucy Brown on February 09, 2009 at 09:36 AM

cote is getting worse, he's lost just about every fight this year

Posted by mikebflorida on February 09, 2009 at 09:44 AM

Boulton takes this one but not by a whole lot. He simply tired Cote out as Cote threw one punch with conviction after the 1:00 mark and Boulton threw about 7 or 8. Cote looks way to defensive, he's better off opening up and going toe to toe. he still might lose but he's a much better chance of winning also.

Posted by boxxy161 on February 08, 2009 at 07:03 PM

as a life long flyers fan i feel sorry for cote, he is put in situations were he is just going to get his ass kicked. he's a team player with a heart as big as philly and new jersey put together, and you have to give him some credit for sticking his nose in night after night, but the flyers only have three fighters cote , asham , and richards all of which are tough guys. none of which are heavy weights.

Posted by qmchugh on February 08, 2009 at 10:04 PM

Didn't think the fight was ever gonna get going, but to Cote's shagrin, it did. Boulton still has his #.

Posted by JETTA KNIGHT on February 09, 2009 at 03:29 PM

NoKnuckles said what i was going to.

Posted by moneybags on February 09, 2009 at 03:06 AM

bolts landed more..cote never got going

Posted by blackgoldfan on February 09, 2009 at 10:56 PM

i should have just read the reveiws, fast fowarded the fight and saved myself some time...but i didn't and yes boulton won but don't waste your time fast fowardto about halfway then watch...yeeesh.

Posted by bruins rule on February 08, 2009 at 06:37 PM

pretty decent scrap.alot of holding on and hugging by boulton in the beginning of the fight and then he started to throw them.

Posted by smackdown time on February 11, 2009 at 05:30 PM

Cote is just like the broadcaster said... Soft as a Q-tip. Has anyone ever seen this chump actually win a fight? Dude is a joke. If I liked the Phliers, I'd be embarrassed each time Cote drops his gloves.

Posted by BigArmSmallH on February 09, 2009 at 07:56 PM

Did Cote ever won a battle ? Everytime I look at fight from him and get destroy... punching bag cote should be is name...

Posted by Ash45 on February 08, 2009 at 10:03 PM

Boulton won the fight not a very impressive fight by either.

Posted by NoKnuckles on February 09, 2009 at 10:15 AM

Cote tries to pin Boulton up against the boards for most of the fight. But then Boulton gets him away from there and starts landing some alright punches. Cote's got nothing left and hangs on for dear life. Win - Boulton.

Posted by Behn Wilson on February 08, 2009 at 08:12 PM

Suprising win on points by former Crooner, Boulton.

Posted by joeye4 on February 09, 2009 at 07:15 AM

Cote just wants to hang on.

Posted by Juha82 on February 09, 2009 at 02:17 PM

NARrow win Boultonm

Posted by mcb789 on February 08, 2009 at 07:15 PM

homer annoucers. cote got some good shots in also. boulton did not hit cote 20 times as the homer atlanta annoucers said. win cote. BRUINS SUCK!!! RANGERS SUCK!!! GUNSLINGER SUCKS!!!

Posted by BooSanta on February 09, 2009 at 07:22 PM

Cote and Bolts dropped at the same time but because Bolts laid on the big hit to a Flyer before hand the ref's thought this was a vigilante deal and threw the BS instigator call at Cote. These 2 were jawwing throughout the period. bolts knew his team was down 3-0 and had to stir the pot. Since he won this fight and his team almost came back to finally beat a team that's had their number for about 3-5 years now you can certainly see Bolts put up the effort here. Rockem Sockem was rocked and socked the last time so he had quite a bit to fight for here and gave Bolts a run by getting the upperhand in the beginning. It looked about all Bolt landing with Cote holding on after the early flurry. Bolt's punches were harder and more convincing. Riley seems to get outpunched a bit now and has some facial contusions that won't heal, so he keeps fighting in close so he doesn't get slaughtered as much.

Posted by tattooedkingpin on February 08, 2009 at 07:15 PM

Good fight by Boulton. Gets the W

Posted by staceyb on February 08, 2009 at 07:46 PM

Cote gets the instigator, a 10 minute misconduct, and a five minute major and he still loses the fight. I dunno about this guy. Flyers won, however.

Posted by MajorGroove on February 09, 2009 at 12:30 AM

Just like their last fight Boulton wins it after a lot of hugging and wrestling. Boulton doesn't dominate but must have learned something from Shanahan the other day. Cote lands nothing of consequence and this one is not close. With Cote's lack of offence I can't score higher than a 6. Lot's of good defence, but come on, hockey fights are not won on defence.

Posted by Odgersfan on February 09, 2009 at 12:50 PM

cote is game and ready to go with anyone but boulton looks like he could be the best pound per pound fighter in the league...smaller than cote but has beat him twice recently. remember boulton's great showing against colton orr in another looong fight earlier this season? boulton goes about his business quieter than the more well known enforcers but he's as tough for his size as they come. as far as picking one with shanny on friday, i think it was payback for rupp breaking his nose with an elbow while boulton was down...go after the talented guys if your enforcer is gonna take cheap shots...i'm not saying it's right, it's just payback.

Posted by sgrant72 on February 11, 2009 at 07:56 AM

Cote was smart to stay real close to Boulton....Eric much stronger than Riley....more shots landed by Boulton.

Posted by digitalroc on March 06, 2009 at 12:46 AM

good fight. edge to boulton.

Posted by huskie on February 09, 2009 at 08:27 AM

slow start but ok fight in general

Posted by ilovenyr on February 09, 2009 at 06:37 PM

Riley Cote seriously needs to leave his gloves on. This guy loses about every scrap he's in. Like come on man.

Posted by Happy2 on February 08, 2009 at 08:10 PM

Today Boulton is good enough for Cote yesterday he was not for Shanahan... go figure. Too many ignorant on the site, too many guys who probably never played the game.

Posted by Tweeks on February 09, 2009 at 08:54 PM

I thought I was gonna fall asleep watching that makeout session between two men. . .but, Boulton got it going and boy does he swing hard.

Posted by giantsfrey on February 08, 2009 at 10:07 PM

that looked tiring. at least they got away from the hugging for a little while so boulton could slap him a few times. boulton win, not close

Posted by apollo13jim on February 08, 2009 at 09:35 PM

Awesome. I was there and got pictures of the whole thing!

Posted by EDDUBBS on February 09, 2009 at 02:21 PM

Cote gets the nod here. Boulton is boring and all that BS about waiting to the end...he is a huger. COTE with the WIn. PS Bring back Dave Brown

Posted by samtheman on February 10, 2009 at 07:59 PM

Boulton threw more but it didn't look like any landed, despite what the announcers said.

Posted by gmr133 on February 09, 2009 at 12:14 PM

Everything that's wrong with fighting today. These guys are hugging so tight for a full minute they look like they're on a game show trying to change jerseys without letting go. They each eventually throw a few lame punches. lame draw.

Posted by dropkick25 on February 09, 2009 at 11:50 PM

Pretty much a hugfest here.Hard to call a winner in this one.

Posted by Boogeyman2383 on February 08, 2009 at 06:52 PM

God I never thought these guys were gonna stop hugging. W/o Boulton's few punches thrown, i woulda given each 2 minutes for unsportsmanlike hugging. Cote is an overrated fighter. Edge Boulton

Posted by Heavyweight2 on February 08, 2009 at 08:50 PM

cote = most overrated fighter in the nhl period

Posted by DaBomb1 on February 09, 2009 at 09:37 PM

cote and boulton are both overrated big time

Posted by Fightsfan748 on February 08, 2009 at 08:56 PM

Posted by RhonaMitra1 on February 08, 2009 at 09:00 PM

Posted by RMKB on February 08, 2009 at 09:03 PM

Win Boulton

Posted by Jack_Edwards on February 09, 2009 at 12:06 AM

That was just painful to watch. @Heavyweight2 He's not overrated, everyone knows he's THE WORST fighter in the entire league. I think they just keep him around because he'll fight literally anyone, even though he keeps getting his ass kicked.

Posted by bigdog2007 on February 10, 2009 at 06:33 PM

Man Miley Sucks. He just hung on against Boulton. He should have received and extra 2 minutes for boring the crap out of everyone.

Posted by Oil Can Henry on February 08, 2009 at 07:09 PM

Wasn't a very good fight, but Boulton did enough to get the win.

Posted by Flyers32 on February 08, 2009 at 08:07 PM

Being a Cote fan this year feels a lot like being a Detroit Lions fan...

Posted by chad420 on February 10, 2009 at 03:10 PM

win boulton

Posted by CocoQuaker7 on February 10, 2009 at 12:30 PM

I don't understand Cote. You'd think he'd be a better fighter for as often as he tries.

Posted by mrsnake on February 19, 2009 at 08:45 PM

Riley Cote is the biggest punching bag in the league. Nobody gets hit harder or more often then Cote.

Posted by Jakernator on February 09, 2009 at 10:30 AM

Just like the last one...Boulton with the win.

Posted by Andyman on February 09, 2009 at 08:31 PM

Cote needs to quit beating Boulton's hands with the back of his head or his face...
