Draw. Orr didn't really land anything. Godard was picking his spots. Anyone can go out there and swing for the fences and make it look good. I didn't see anything convincing of a win on either part.

Posted by aces50 on January 08, 2009 at 09:42 AM

Does orr ever punch his opponent. Another let me rattle the back of your helmet. Ranger fans for sure. Orr suc**!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Posted by PSM1966 on January 05, 2009 at 11:59 PM

Orr throws alot of haymakers that graze Godard. Godard took awhile to get going, had fewer but quality shots and drew blood. Orr hurt his hand and realized he was in trouble and pulled down Godard to end fight in draw.

Posted by pitthull on January 13, 2009 at 08:40 PM

a good workout for orr but he was swatting at air on 90% of his attempts -- godard stays with him the whole time and throws a few counters at the end -- have to go draw as most missed completely and those that did land had minimal effect.

Posted by BSTnougat on January 07, 2009 at 07:39 PM

I hate both of these teams so i have no bias here...I think it was a draw. Orr threw a whole lot but most landed on the back of the helmet. Godard landed a few so this was a tough call. Draw.

Posted by Hellnobama.com on January 05, 2009 at 11:46 PM

The only thing beat up in that fight was a helmet. Orr was busy, but hitting plastic. No winner. Orr throwing more, only legit hit went to Godard. Draw.

Posted by Pittsburgh Dan on January 07, 2009 at 12:09 AM

Orr throw many more punches but they landed on Godards helmet. Godards land a couple at the end of the fight. Yes I am a homer but got to call it a draw.

Posted by bloodyknuckles2 on January 06, 2009 at 01:31 PM

Orr land 2% of punches thrown and 0% were effective. Number of punches thrown doesnt dictate who wins. If that his how you judge a fight than Semin gets win vs. Stall for his tantrum slaps.

Posted by EDDUBBS on January 07, 2009 at 03:48 PM

Orr is overated

Posted by mckendo83 on January 06, 2009 at 08:49 AM

I disagree with the review on the main page - almost all of Orrs "blows" hit helmet...Godard had his on the entire fight and it actually may have cost Orr more than Godard (injured hand vs supposedly losing the fight)... Orr threw way more and was trying to pound godard but i dont think he landed many flush punches

Posted by mikebflorida on January 06, 2009 at 09:53 AM

Wow! This is a lot tougher than it looks. Having watched this several times just to be sure, most of Orr's punches missed or hit Godard's helmet which must have been welded on. I can't believe it didn't come off! Godard didn't appear phased by those punches as he came back strong and then Orr dumps him to the ice or they fell, whatever. It certainly looked like Orr was dominating but he clearly wasn't and hurt his hand in the process. I'm going with a draw because both guys landed a couple of clean punches each, Godard certainly was able to keep fighting and had Orr in a bad way at the end. I can't give Orr a win but it's obvious every Orr lover and Ranger fan will no matter what but I'd rather be honest in my fight reviews.

Posted by Art24 on January 06, 2009 at 05:58 AM

Usually Orr has Godard's number, but not in this fight. Orr landed one great punch, but Godard landed two. Orr's usual early flurry got him in trouble later on. The guys are rating this fight wrong. Watch it again - it's a draw.

Posted by leeder on January 07, 2009 at 09:55 AM

It was all helmet punches!?!?!

Posted by fistface on January 06, 2009 at 05:27 PM

How to call a Orr the winner for just punches thrown. I like both these guys. It is like those who said Stock beat Peat in that epic fight in 02...so what if Stock threw 80 punches...Peat wins with the better shots just like this is a draw.

Posted by squish81 on January 13, 2009 at 10:22 PM

Clear draw. Orr threw a lot but landed about 1/2. ALL of Godard's landed. DRAW. Good fights this season between these two tough guys.

Posted by jbaktai on January 06, 2009 at 12:26 AM

Ok after watching the fight a couple times Orr threw about 10 more punches atleast then Godard but if you watch really closely he landed only about 2-4 if hes lucky, the best punch of the fight was an uppercut by Godard which looked to stun the hell outa Orr i have to give it a draw only because Godard did the most damage (which really should mean he won the fight) but Orr just went nuts and landed 1 or 2 more. Key word LANDED not thrown. DRAW

Posted by dogace on January 06, 2009 at 10:35 AM

i am a big godard fan...but i will give orr slight edge..great fight though!man these guys are not afraid of getting tagged..these 2 might be the top 2,easy top 5

Posted by stevkrause on January 08, 2009 at 01:28 PM

I don't know HOW the hell Orr could have gotten so many votes for this - CLEAR DRAW... Orr comes out jack hammering, but lands NO quality shots, almost all helmet and graze shots, Goddard actually lands more quality shots, but due to Orr's sheer energy, I'll call it a draw... takedown for Orr, not fight related.

Posted by dbakes on January 05, 2009 at 11:05 PM

Good thing for Godard his helmet stayed on.

Posted by stich on January 11, 2009 at 11:33 AM

These are the top two heavies in the league right now! Vicious brawlers to the core who love to fight! Orr threw alot more punches but I can't believe Godard didn't knock him out with that wicked right cross, these guys are some of the most dangerous people walking the planet.

Posted by elk412 on January 05, 2009 at 10:40 PM

this was a great fight...godard never seems to disapoint, win or lose, its a very entertaining fight, i dont get to see orr at all but he looks entertaining also im going draw...i am unsure if orr landed most of those punches he threw and alot of them hit gods helmet, godard came back in the end to force a draw awesome fight

Posted by drop_the_gloves on January 06, 2009 at 06:54 AM

Orr threw 20, and landed none unless you count hitting the helmet. Godard landed on big one. Slight edge to a really nothing fight to Godard.

Posted by narinsvy on January 06, 2009 at 09:03 PM

sides of helmet or missess doesn't count for shits, eric land more while orr got all the helmet and hurt his hand

Posted by Riley32 on January 06, 2009 at 08:34 AM

orr must think hitting godard's helmet was doing damage...what a moron, not a good fight. win godard for hitting skin. I am a flyer fan and am voting for a penguin....honest opinion obviously

Posted by mcb789 on January 05, 2009 at 10:01 PM

good fight. godard was the clear cut winner in this bout. orr landed 1 or 2 punches. godard landed several good punches to the face of that ranger punk orr. RANGERS STILL SUCK.

Posted by bruiseyoureye on January 05, 2009 at 11:04 PM

orr was throwing at the skies but did not land shitttttt.......godard landed the only shots to orrs melon...watch it very closely.......maybe some 75% give orr the win for the takedown maybe........fukkking homers.....dont vote like that.....vote for real....orr didnt land one punch....you people make me sick ....i just lost alot of respect for alot of you lame ass homers

Posted by kilroy123 on January 05, 2009 at 11:37 PM

I have been in enough scraps in my career to know that punching a helmet, repeatedly, may look good, but is utterly fruitless. It tires you out, and hurts like hell. It also opens you up to take a hard smack after you tire out, case in hand. Yeah, Orr looked good, but he is the one that is going to be hurting tomorrow, hand and face.

Posted by Mcfluffkin on January 06, 2009 at 03:59 PM

What the heck are you people watching? Just because Orr threw 106 punches doesn't mean he won the fight. He landed about 2. Godard landed more punches...plus I hate the Rangers so raspberries to Orr

Posted by Black Ice on January 09, 2009 at 07:02 PM

Godard with the win, Orr just swinged but did not hit

Posted by gnitterhouse on January 10, 2009 at 10:56 AM

Godard landed the better punches. Orr landed mostly helmet punches and those hurt the hand more than the opponents head.

Posted by Mike_O on January 18, 2009 at 06:45 PM

After seeing Orr go after Crosby how can anyone ever respect this piece of garbage? A typical low life Ranger.

Posted by mrunohoo on January 06, 2009 at 09:50 PM

Win Godard's helmet.

Posted by hollywood8 on January 06, 2009 at 05:35 PM

hopefully they had a bucket of ice in the sin bin for orr's hand, very close fight godard definitly got some good shots in

Posted by MatchPenalty on January 06, 2009 at 05:56 PM

If you're scoring on activity. Orr with the W. Domination? Hardly. 25 punches to the back of Godard's helmet. Wouldn't be suprised if Orr took a couple nights off to ease the swelling. Looked exciting though.

Posted by egdirdle6667 on January 05, 2009 at 10:05 PM

Orrsie tough, I will give him the win!

Posted by Dell on January 06, 2009 at 07:00 PM

Orr hit his helmet the whole time - landed a couple late. It is not the amount of punches thrown if they are ineffective....it look good but does nothing to the opponent,,,in fact an argument could be made the Orr lost based on the sore hand he ended up with.

Posted by ahartnack on January 07, 2009 at 05:52 PM

If Goddard was not wearing that helmet.....lights out.

Posted by Jim02351 on January 07, 2009 at 09:18 AM

Why not make it mandatory that fighters that do not remove their helmets when fighting get an extra 2-4 minute penaly for unsportsman like conduct?

Posted by Chivas Regal on January 06, 2009 at 10:08 AM

Orr wins in my book just because he didnt turn away from the fight. Godard gets a couple in but in my book thats nullified cuz he's a pussah for turning away the entire fight.

Posted by bradass81 on January 06, 2009 at 09:13 AM

Orr was off the hook. Throwing nonstop.... NOW THAT IS HOW U FIGHT. Godard landed a couple nice ones, but took more than he landed. Win Orr

Posted by Anders 9 on January 25, 2009 at 09:53 PM

Orr through a lot of punches, obviously, but didn't get good wood on most of his swings. Godard handled himself like a pro, but mostly played defense. Even though he through only a few punches, Godard had a better percentage of connects for punches thrown; but Orr determined the direction of this one.

Posted by Leafs2006 on January 05, 2009 at 10:59 PM

Wow,...the Pens miss George Larauqe! Colton with the easy beating, i cant wait till saturday when Colton meets Christine in Ottawa...i betcha Christine dont go.....?

Posted by Diehardfan419 on January 05, 2009 at 11:46 PM

Utter Domination by Orr. Godard has become Orr's punching bag now.

Posted by Gunslinger on January 05, 2009 at 11:39 PM

Orr with the advantage until he hurt his hand on Godard's helmet, which gave Godard the chance to get in some shots of his own. Edge to Orr, Godard to slow to get going. bruiseyoureye needs to open his! He's raggin' on homers yet his bio says he lives in Pittsburgh and the Pens are his fave team. So who's the homer now bitch?

Posted by oilersfansylvan on January 06, 2009 at 05:36 AM

Thought this would be a great tilt and well, it was ok alot of missed and glancing blowes, really didn't add up to much......Colton for the win I guess

Posted by nycbob on January 06, 2009 at 08:21 AM

Did Goddard play a shift in this game? Seriously i think he was inthe locker room watching it on tv. Orr was clear still fired up from the Orpick run and took it out on Godard. Easy win orr

Posted by digitalroc on February 11, 2009 at 09:44 PM

Godard with a few good punches on the target at the end, but Orr had many punches thrown, and a couple on target. Ice the the knuckles Orr.

Posted by westside on January 06, 2009 at 11:55 AM

Good scrap. Orr threw a ton but did not land a lot. Godard just seems so hesitant against him... I'm a pens fan but you have to give the nod to Orr here even if it was close.

Posted by Crowdpleezr on January 06, 2009 at 01:33 AM

As Christopher 'Big Black' Boykin would say: "My boy Orr did work right there, son!"

Posted by rowbearprobear on January 06, 2009 at 05:51 PM

orr was certainly more busy, but few of his punches landed. i watched this whole game and thought that goddard wasn't even dressed. not really fair for a guy to sit for 59 minutes and then get tapped on the shoulder to go out and fight one of the toughest guys in the league. goddard was so lethargic that i thought he might be hurt. even with all the excuses, solid win for orr.

Posted by Muscles on January 07, 2009 at 06:48 PM

I'm not sure how many solid punches landed, but Orr was throwing.

Posted by JayMiller29 on January 06, 2009 at 12:16 AM

Colton with the win here. More punches in the face of your opposition= W in my book. There is no reasoning with a homer guys. MCB sees it his way, the rest of the world sees it the way it really played out. When over 80 percent of people are voting for a particular winner, it usually means its pretty obvious. I am not a fan of either of these guys or teams. I'm a fight fan. I watch the fights and dont listen to the announcers either, they tend to throw off your true impression of how the fight went. Crowd noise does too. Watch them muted to see who you really think won....Just a suggestion.

Posted by TheGouch23 on January 05, 2009 at 11:58 PM

Orr win. Smoked Godard, particularly across the side of the head a couple of times. Godard landed a couple but nothing punishing, and the hits to the back of Orr's head were mostly glancing. Orr controlled the fight from the beginning. Hope his hand is OK.

Posted by metaone525 on October 11, 2009 at 10:35 PM

Orr won this one. He was possessed for the first half of the video. I love both of these heavyweights. Great Fight from a Great Feud

Posted by billy jack on January 06, 2009 at 05:40 PM

Goddard got beat down, also does goddard have his helmut glued to his head.it never comes off.But orr beat him soundly right to the ice.Ya orr hurt his hand, but thats what makes him a warrior, reading goerge larocks blog is like reading about a big guy who weighs 275 and makes a mill a year but fights to stay around forever not the heat of the moment or the thrill of the scrap, just so he can do steroids body build and fight 4 times a year,he even said he ducked dave brown, now thats a warrior, not,he is no old time enforcer, orr fights like he means it.

Posted by the_dude_202 on January 06, 2009 at 03:34 PM

As a Penguins fan it was tough to watch this in MSG. Everyone seemed to think Orr blew Godard out of the water. While he threw a lot more, he didn't actually land all that many. Still, I give Orr the edge.

Posted by bigredbaer on January 06, 2009 at 11:07 AM

Coming from a Pens fan, I have to admit Orr definitely won this scrap. He threw so many he got himself all tired out, and Godard got some in at the end, but Orr definitely took it. More punches and definitely more landed.

Posted by BrianTheAdsFan on January 06, 2009 at 12:31 PM

Orr with this one. Too bad he hurt his hand on Godard's helmet. Maybe Bettman should look into outlawing them to prevent hand injuries in the future.

Posted by capsfloors on January 05, 2009 at 10:17 PM

Or with the edge here, threw more, landed more and tired himself out. Godard with a nice showing and came back in the end to make the fight alot closer. mcb789: you are a complete A-hole. YOU SUCK!

Posted by towner35 on January 06, 2009 at 09:40 AM

Posted by MNBonecrusher on January 06, 2009 at 09:51 AM

You know, i watched this a few times, and yeah Orr hit the helmet a lot, but he also landed some shots. He does seem to have Godard's number. It looks like he just controls him by using brute strength!

Posted by Blackhawk23 on January 06, 2009 at 02:11 AM

Solid fight by two of the best in the NHL, win Orr.

Posted by jcstokes on January 05, 2009 at 10:39 PM

All Orr- Godard didn't have a chance to throw anything, Orr was too busy keeping him off balance and throwing em. Godard can't hang with Orr.

Posted by neiljc on January 06, 2009 at 11:07 AM

slshbleed is dead-on accurate with the review here. Godard will dominate everyone except for those slight few who may be better than him. Plus, intensity was a factor here too. Obviously, both wanted to punch each other's lights out, but Orr was pissed off about Brooks Orpik, and Godard spent most of the night on the bench watching his team suck. That is the reason for the intensity difference and the fight might have been closer is Godard's whole heart was in it. That being said, when Godard doesn't start off strong against his equals, he doesn't get killed, but usually won't win. Thankfully as a Pens fan, this is usually not the case. Quality scrap by two of the best. Win Orr by a smaller margin because of the misses and Godard bombs at the end. Also, good reviews by azjim and mckendo83. The review on the main page isn't completely accurate.

Posted by staceyb on January 06, 2009 at 05:27 AM

I'm not a Colton Orr fan but he is quite impressive this year--I watch the MSG telecasts on NHL Center Ice and it seems that every Garden game Orr will scrap with a noted heavyweight on the other team early in the contest. It puts a charge into the crowd.

Posted by GetUrWigSplit13 on January 06, 2009 at 09:22 AM

win for orr....he was the agressor and he basically overpowered godard in the first 3/4 of the fight...he did land a lot to the helmet but godard wasnt doin much newayz...then he broke his hand(i think) it looked like it on tv newayz and it seemed like he just wanted the fight to end, godard got in a couple, orr a painful couple more and then orr wit the takedown...i really hope his hand isnt broken tho cuz the rangers dont have neone to rely on but voros who isnt the greatest fighter and if i have to watch dubinsky fight i wont watch the game!!

Posted by TIRE TIM on January 06, 2009 at 10:26 PM

Posted by chelifisch on January 06, 2009 at 01:11 AM

Can we get rid of the homer announcers please? "Goddard had him where he wanted him" STFU! Goddard didn't do jack! I'm not a fan of either of these teams, but Orr obviously controlled this fight not matter if he hurt Goddard or not.

That's why they get the big bucks. Nice tilt. Sore hands and heads for both, no damage. Pens are a hurtin unit. What's with that?

Posted by MajorGroove on January 06, 2009 at 07:22 PM

How in the world can anyone give Godard the win? His helmet did more fighting than his fists. Orr dominates. Nice to see Godard took everything Orr had and fought back but Orr far more active. I'm sure we'll see a rematch. Give it a 7.

Posted by lefthook25 on January 06, 2009 at 09:29 PM

Orr got a grip and started throwing. Godard needs to lose the helmet

Posted by 23BOOM94NYR on January 05, 2009 at 11:33 PM

I'm guessing anyone voting for Godard did it simply because its easy to hate a winner. Win for Orr.

Posted by ChrisNilan Poet on January 06, 2009 at 01:11 PM

Orr shoulda pulled off the helmet while he had the chance, coulda saved the meat hook for future use. That being said, Godard stuck in there admirably but Orr the better and more active man. Orr's got his number no doubt.

Posted by J.R. Abel on January 06, 2009 at 08:29 PM

First off- I gave the fight to Orr because he controlled the fight landed more punches and got the takedown Second- Godard couldn't beat Orr if his life depended on it. Don't know why, Orr just has his number for some reason. Third- Orr definitely did not DOMINATE this fight as many of you morons have said. Punch count for Orr was- Thrown 33, landed 3 maybe 4 (couldn't tell if 1 landed because of the camera angle). Good showing for both guys. Both are probably in the top 5-7 heavys in the NHL.

Posted by Big Little Tank on January 06, 2009 at 06:30 PM

I am a Pens fan, but Orr get this one....AGAIN. It's like Laraque and Brashear. Laraque can normally take most fighters, but can never take huggy bear. Good go early by Orr and Godard again takes too much time fussing over his elbow pads.

Posted by slshbleed on January 06, 2009 at 08:56 AM

I think Orr wins, but it was closer than it look on the surface. A lot of Orr's punches missed or landed on the helmet. Godard landed a couple solid shots as well. It looked like Godard was wide open for an uppercut. Orr could have really dinged him, but Orr kept throwing the crosses. When the announcer says something like " Orr hurt his hand right there". Orr may have hurt his hand, but it looked like Godard landed a very nice body shot at the same time. Just after that Godard gets in a little better position and lands a couple head shots. If Godard lands a big right in a fight, he very dangerous. When he can't get the big punch off, it ends up being a fight like this.

Posted by plum29 on January 08, 2009 at 10:26 PM

good fight, and Colton Orr threw 32 punches in total. how many landed is another story, but the scrap was quite entertaining indeed.

Posted by dala56 on January 05, 2009 at 10:50 PM

Orr with the nod against Godard again! Once Orr gets going like that he will most likely win the fight, doesn't matter who's on the other side.

Posted by hipchecker20 on January 07, 2009 at 10:06 PM

Posted by brad houghton on January 06, 2009 at 09:42 AM

Godar and Orr two guys that are tough to figure out......Godard looks so confident against the big boys like MacIntrye and Boogy and fights in fear of Orr seemingly due to one big punch a few years ago that has had him on defense ever since against the other Orr and Orr is so hot and cold....some nights i think he is making his move other nights not Orr by a wide margin to his personal door mat??

Posted by OriginalSix on July 12, 2009 at 05:43 PM

Orr simply was the winner tonight. More punches landed, but Godard did rock him in the gut with the uppercut.

Posted by chl37 on January 06, 2009 at 07:47 AM

two of the best go at it. orr with the win though many of his shots were to the helmet. by the way, the stick whacking against the boards by teamates on the bench after a player fights (very commonly after losing) is getting really old.

Posted by mwags on January 06, 2009 at 12:39 PM

Orr seem to hit the helmut quite a bit. Goddard got some in late but a little too late. Orr wins.

Posted by KSchram17 on January 06, 2009 at 05:20 PM

Godard was saved by his helmet in this fight. He was clearly beaten by Orr who got about 30 punches in compared to Godard's 12. Orr threw so many hard punches, it unbuckled his helmet and it fell off. Godard got in a few at the end after he had gotten destroyed for a good 30 seconds and Orr had tired himself out. Credit Godard for taking it like a pro and staying in the fight but Orr comes away with an impressive win.

Posted by JDForCommish on January 05, 2009 at 11:29 PM

I watched this a couple times as i had it taped and Orr landed about four direct solid hits and Godard one towards the end. It really wasn't close as Orr controlled the fight. He did have that look in his eye towards the end of the game. Thought godard would have done better since he didn't play all game and Orr played a regular shift. Much respect to Godard though as he hung in there and showed he has got one tough jaw. clearly two of the best in the league right now, they both will have there share of losses but that's what happens when you go toe to toe and aren't afraid to take a punch to land 2. Orr was just to much in this one.

Posted by Sukoshi84 on January 05, 2009 at 10:48 PM

How do you vote for Godard?? Orr with the win here. Yes, Godard got in a few really good shots (especially the one to the body). But, Orr went right at him with numerous rights MOST landing pretty good. WIN ORR!

Posted by Luque1 on January 05, 2009 at 11:05 PM

Orr mor agile in this fight, Goddard isnt as fast as it is needed in such a direct way of fighting. Good strategy, Orr seems to be quite brainy :)

Posted by tattooedkingpin on January 06, 2009 at 09:54 AM

Orr gets the W for the mass quantity if punches thrown and connected

Posted by kmeyers68 on January 06, 2009 at 12:38 AM

Orr gets a clear Win. Godard barely had a chance to breath while Orr was throwing all those punches. Even more credit to Orr to be able to throw that many hard punches that quick. Godard didnt stand a chance.

Posted by glaxko on January 05, 2009 at 11:43 PM

Man if Orr landed more of those punches, someone would be sent to the hospital. win for Orr

Posted by BigJtheCanuck on January 06, 2009 at 08:31 AM

Godard get embarrassed every time he fights Orr.... you'd think he would learn. Orr Win

Posted by CairnsNYI33 on January 06, 2009 at 04:53 PM

Great fight. Orr started out like a psycho throwing bombs. But Godard hung in there and took Orrs best and he started to take over the fight when Orr took him down. Orr gets the decision, but I would like to have seen 10-20 more seconds of this fight.

Posted by KJNYR on January 05, 2009 at 11:00 PM

Very good fight. Orr with some bombs right out of the gate. Godard battled back at the end as Orr was losing steam, but Orr was just too much. Win Orr mcb789- God, you are an idiot. Your best one by far was voting against Redden the other day because as you put it RANGERS SUCK. You either must be 10 years old or someone who opens their beer bottles with their teeth. Either way its obvious you have little to no brain cells. One question though. Why make a screen name that brags about the number of men you went down on last year?

Posted by tiburon4 on January 07, 2009 at 07:58 PM

Too little, too late, Eric! Orr wins easily.

Posted by Wods317 on January 09, 2009 at 08:47 PM

Orr dominated this fight. For anyone who says that he was just hitting the back of his helmet it was because Godard wouldnt face him like a man so he had to punch the back of his head. Orr was much better and threw the much better shots, not close.

Posted by sabersfan4life on January 07, 2009 at 02:46 PM

too close to call orr with the win

Posted by Hendo67 on January 07, 2009 at 08:48 PM

Wow, Orr was throwing haymakers and would not stop, haha

Posted by hockeyfan87 on January 05, 2009 at 11:17 PM

Win for Orr.

Posted by probiehawk24 on January 06, 2009 at 09:23 AM

Orr with the win. He didn't duck, Godard did a few times. That tells you that even if Orr was hitting helmet, his punches still hurt. Nice chant in MSG, "Crosby Sucks!!!"

Posted by MorphinityNYR on January 05, 2009 at 11:25 PM

Orr gets it for laying down absolute bombs in the beginning and getting the takedown even though he hurt his hand.

Posted by Stac797 on January 06, 2009 at 07:04 AM

Godard just came back from being injuried. But everyone knows he can kick ass but i have to vote for Orr

Posted by gsw33me on January 06, 2009 at 01:27 PM

Orr just threw his hammer fists at Godard's head and even though he landed most of them on Godard's helmet he did connect a few with his face. I do think it was a closer fight then it looked because of all of the helmet contact but Orr is the hands down winner.

Posted by GoalAssistSCRAP on January 06, 2009 at 03:20 PM

More fights should be like this.

Posted by BrEaKyAfAcE on January 06, 2009 at 04:14 PM

all of you are retarded who say that it was close. if you really pay attention, yeah some of orrs hits hit the helmet but alot hit the side of godards face in the cheek bone. and it wasnt so much of his hand that got hurt because godard did get a good body shot in. but who the hell takes body shots in the NHL???.. Orr won that fight hands down. and what really pisses me off is when the announcer says that orr is in trouble after a small hit that godard snuck in. in every fight that Orr and Godard have, Godard always gets beat terribly. Colton Orr wins with out a doubt

Posted by COLTONORR=GOD on February 14, 2009 at 03:25 AM

obviously we all no who the winner is.....

Posted by DARCY T on March 26, 2009 at 06:20 AM

great fight.orr all the way

Posted by dropkick25 on January 05, 2009 at 11:45 PM

Nice Scrap.Orr with the edge.Although most were to the helmet he did land more solid 5-2.Godard played it smart dodging the storm and landing a big one.Orr is always great to watch, always going for the quick kill.Hope he is more careful with that right hand, just a matter of time before he ends up like Kocur.Lay off those helmets dude.

Posted by dool325 on January 05, 2009 at 10:12 PM

Orr wins. He landed more punches and more quality punches, too.

Posted by SirYohans on January 06, 2009 at 02:42 PM

Orr had that look in his eye early on and just overwhelmed Godard. Orr hurt his hand and slowed down. Godard came back a bit and landed a couple himself. Orr was just too much and gets the edge in a great bout. C'mon some of you guys voting Godard winner are reaching extremely. If it was your fighter doing this to someone, you'd be jumping for joy shouting "Owned" and "Domination." So don't bullshyt us, you know who won the fight. When Orr is angry (as he got late in the game last night,) there is absolutely no one who can handle this guy. But like all fighters (and for whatever reason,) even Orr has his off nights and inconsistencies and loses some fights. Orr and Godard are still the 2 best fighters in the league. PERIOD! The So-Called-Champs of the NHL just use their overwhelming strength to not lose. Whatever, undefeated but sadly unimpressive also. I'll take these 2 pure brawlers instead any day. BTW, Hey "MikebFla." Yes, we know already, you could never give Orr a win no matter what happens. The hatred is quite predictable. Try to mix it up a bit, then maybe more people will listen to your rants. Didn't Artyuhkin beat the back of a guy's helmet the other night? We know, it's a Domination when your team's fighters do alot less than what Orr did here.

Posted by J C ALVARADO on January 06, 2009 at 08:29 PM

That comentator is stupid!! jaja "Orr is in trouble!!" Duh! Orr wins and has had Goddards number for a long time now. Way to go Bobby Orr!!!!!

Posted by b.t.wilson on January 05, 2009 at 09:51 PM

Well this was a beauty. In my VERY humble opinion, the two best fighters in the league right now. Please don't insult me now, I'm not a homer, I'm a Flyers fan! (The word "homer" is getting a little old too I'd say). Anyways, I didn't even know Godard was in the game until I heard the announcer yelling. Orr got off many more shots, especially one gigantic bomb to the back of Godard's helmet while Godard was trying to lose the elbow pad. Godard landed a couple more quality shots to Orr's mug me thinks, but all told, I am voting a very slight win for Orr, although I can totally understand this going any of the three possible ways for a result.

Posted by Don Gorgon on January 06, 2009 at 12:27 AM

"He's got Orr in trouble now..." LOL

Posted by PICKLEHAMMER on January 06, 2009 at 09:00 AM

Orr all day.

Posted by blackgoldfan on January 06, 2009 at 10:19 PM

Goddards elbow pad grabs his @$$ and orr absolutley pumbles him. Not even close.

Posted by bruins rule on January 06, 2009 at 07:53 AM

colton orr with the win.he threw some very big punches.

Posted by kimocoyote on January 05, 2009 at 11:08 PM

Orr with the edge, he will have sore hands in the morning. Living in west don't get to see either of these guys that often but they're two of the best when it comes to scraps.

Posted by boldbilly on January 06, 2009 at 08:46 AM

ORR is one tough hombre!

Posted by ECHO1 on January 07, 2009 at 04:12 PM

ouch. Orr beat the crap out of his hand on Godard's head!

Posted by reddo on January 06, 2009 at 08:30 AM

Orr is an animal and I like him, just watch his fights, man he is such a beast, I would definitely give him a payrise.

Posted by kingpaolo on January 06, 2009 at 12:22 AM

Orr with a clear win... MCB what's on your mind.... vote,.. but vote honest

Posted by Cid on January 05, 2009 at 11:45 PM

I miss this guy in Boston! Great scrap... another win for Colton, the "Face Breaker"

Posted by kitcarnut on January 06, 2009 at 12:09 AM

Orr gets cranked up doesn't he.You can just see the man loves his work.

Posted by Lucy Brown on January 05, 2009 at 11:04 PM

MCB789 you should be banned for voting for Godard. What a chode. Clear win for Orr. I was at the game. Replay doesnt show how dazed Godard was after the fight. Orr hurt him. Orr also hurt his hand. I think this is going to be a problem in the future for Orr. Again replay doesnt show the aftermath, Godard seeing stars and Orr in pain with badly bruised hand if not worse.

Posted by Dampland on January 09, 2009 at 11:57 PM

Orr with easy win

fucking great fight.

Posted by Thorrus on January 06, 2009 at 10:59 AM

Orr win!

Posted by johnnyfitzo on January 05, 2009 at 11:20 PM

orr with another Win godard did keep on his feet the whole time though, and didnt try to grab his dick like crosby does!

Posted by Oil Can Henry on January 06, 2009 at 12:40 AM

Orr missed with most-everything he threw and punched-himself-out. Godard finally gets started then falls down. No winner in this one.

Posted by biglite351 on January 13, 2009 at 12:15 PM

Orr just keeps hitting Godards helmet until he breaks his hand. That's smart.

Posted by azjim on January 06, 2009 at 05:45 AM

Orr threw a lot more punches, and they were haymakers, but hardly landed any. Most that did land were on the back of Godard's helmet. Just because a guy throws tons of punches doesn't mean he wins. Draw

Posted by bigdog2007 on January 06, 2009 at 04:12 PM

Orr missed with 90 per cent.....he was more active. Poor start by Godard...

Posted by silvertipsfan on January 06, 2009 at 01:30 AM

absolute draw, just because u throw more punches doesn't mean u win, orr deserves a broken hand if he wants to punch a hemet 20 times.

Posted by davebrown21 on January 15, 2009 at 10:33 PM

i give this to godard. orr didnt land but one, maybe two of his punches. those were all bounces off the helmet. godard landed three dandies early and then maybe another late. remember, its the quality of the punches, not the quantity

Posted by eadamson on January 07, 2009 at 01:44 PM

surprised at the high ranking... Orr probably won the fight, but all those punches and Godard's helmet never came off... they weren't very damaging, whereas Godard got a few solid shots in. I almost called this a draw.

Posted by NikkiZ13 on January 05, 2009 at 10:26 PM

Orr landed alot of good punches Godard tried to make a comeback late but did not land enough. Orr takes it easily

Posted by GaryW on January 06, 2009 at 06:44 AM

Total domination by Orr. Godard just can't handle Orr.

Posted by mod13 on January 06, 2009 at 08:56 AM

I will give the win to Orr, BUT I will bet he is the more battered and hurting man today!!

Posted by PigIron on January 10, 2009 at 12:30 PM

W for Orr - he beat the daylights out of Godard's helmet.

Posted by Bosoxfan3 on January 06, 2009 at 02:03 PM

Even though Godard ended the fight really strongly, I have to give the win to Orr.

Posted by travist on January 06, 2009 at 12:43 AM

need to take the helmet off! man his hand must have been busted up!

Posted by Pops Ryan on January 06, 2009 at 04:31 PM

For all you people who hate New York let me ask you this. Who would you have rather been in this fight? About 15% of you idiots said it didnt matter (draw) and incredibly 5% thought Godard won. OK, so you would rather land 7 punches and eat 23 ? If this fignt was Godard and somebody from Phoenix, Godard would have gotten about 0%, which my immature little friends, would be more accurate than the way you voted.

Posted by Daave on January 08, 2009 at 06:40 AM

Orr threw eight zillion punches, and if more than four had landed, Godard would be in the hospital. Ignoring the wild punches, it looked like Godard landed a couple, Orr landed a couple more. No domination here, but I think Orr does get it.

Posted by redwhiteblue on January 05, 2009 at 11:19 PM

I hope Orr didn't break his hand.

Posted by imissbarnaby36 on January 05, 2009 at 11:25 PM

orrrrr throwing BOMBS if you dont vote for orr im sorry but u honestly have fucking down syndrome seriously he kicked the shit out him like wtf his day was fucked up by orr

Posted by tim daddy on January 06, 2009 at 09:51 AM

gerat fight, watched it many times (without sound) godard did get in some nice shots, but not as many of orrs hit helmet as it looks like especially those first two, that seemed to stun godard right out of the box also, some of those helmet shots were right on the earhole and thats gotta hurt, not to mention screw up your balance. win orr

Posted by chad420 on January 12, 2009 at 10:37 PM

colton orr continues his domination of godard

Posted by ORR TO THE BOX on January 06, 2009 at 01:46 AM

Oh man, i hope orr didnt break his hand he will be absoutely useless if he did lol
