boring useless fight. janssen's style is so old and tiring. absolutely no entertainment value what so ever. send him back to the minors where he belongs or show him some riley cote bouts so he can see what a true enforcer is supposed to be doing out there.

Outlaw the jersey jab. It's a way for the middleweights to "say" they take on bigger guys.

Posted by b.t.wilson on October 24, 2008 at 11:48 PM

Looks like a lot of good hits that game. Lots of fights, though seemingly none were all that good. I hate Janssen. He fights like an ignoranimus. Too many rabbit punches. I called it a draw.

Posted by Filthadelphia on October 25, 2008 at 02:54 PM

Those jersey jabs were PATHETIC!

Posted by Gunslinger on October 25, 2008 at 08:59 AM

Pretty good scrap. Janssen lands a lot of sweater jabs and O'Donnell tries to land the bigger shots(I do'nt know if any really landed). I call it a draw 'cause nobody got hurt by anything.

Long fight. Draw

I used to think Janssen was good...

Posted by Juha82 on October 25, 2008 at 04:45 AM

not good fight but good show from O'Donnell. You can expect that Janssen would win but he didn't win. A DRAW,

Draw.

ok, first things first. does anyone that is signed up for this site have any clue about hockey or even hockey fights? who in the HELL voted that O'Donnell won? the old man didnt even land a punch... also i dont believe O'Donnell has ever won an NHL bout before, so obviously he wouldnt win this one. ohh and yea , obviously thme jersey punches*/jab were effective cause it almost looked like O'Donnell was going to drop everytime one landed. also people hate Janssen. why? cause he beat the guy you grew up in love with? the kid barely ever loses. ohh and for the one that said Janssen should fight heavyweights? hmmm he just did didnt he? and yea he one. like he ussually does. also he should fight heavyweights why? heavyweights should fight Heavyweights and middles weights should fight middleweights. and he is a middleweight. so yeaaa im done. win Janssen

Cammy wins

Posted by staceyb on October 25, 2008 at 06:11 AM

I hate it that a one-dimensional hockey player like Janssen fights an older veteran like O'Donnell.

Posted by aj99ny on October 25, 2008 at 11:18 AM

St Louis gets the award for worst song to be played during a fight. Serioulsly Pink!? WTF. Janssen owned the whole fight but nothing huge landed.

Posted by caps05 on October 25, 2008 at 02:13 AM

Janssen ran into O'Donnell along the boards and O'Donnell turned and they dropped the mitts. O'Donnell was throwing mostly jabs, while Janssen looked like he connected on a few rights. Win Janssen.

Posted by Behn Wilson on October 26, 2008 at 07:07 PM

Slight edge to Janssen for his flurry at the end, but those amatuer jersey jabs made the whole thing feel cheap.

Posted by billy jack on October 25, 2008 at 08:28 PM

give the old guy of hockey credit man,he fought a much younger man and stood tall.something he has done his whole career.

Posted by brazos on October 25, 2008 at 04:30 PM

Janssen had control the majority of the time, landing a lot of jersey jabs keeping ODonnell off balance. He threw some other punches which landed but no major damage. A lot of hanging on and trying to gain position. Entertaining but not a toe to toe. Since when does the type of punch determine whether it is effective? If grabbing the other guy's jersey and hitting them continuously in the face keeps them from throwing then that is a good strategy. The object is to hit the other guy more than he hits you. Review with an open mind instead of "hating" one or the other.

Gotta give the win to Janssen. But O'Donnell showed some heart for an old guy.

Posted by tattooedkingpin on October 25, 2008 at 12:04 AM

Janssen wins via 35 rabbit punches.

Posted by bruins34 on October 25, 2008 at 03:21 PM

Nice heart by OD. He gets props for dropping the mitts, but Janssen showed his chops by using whatever tools available for the fight. Loved the jabs that kept OD off-balance. After watching this, though, I wish the !B's had kept this guy. Nice to see a defensive corps with some guts. Take note, Ms. Chara!

Posted by jealeman on October 25, 2008 at 03:00 AM

Damn I miss Cam. He totally owned O'Donnell from beginning to end. Great fight on his part!

Posted by Spanky_Jazz on October 25, 2008 at 04:10 AM

Not a bad fight. O'Donnell does a decent job, but Janssen obviously controls the fight from start to finish, thus Cam gets the win.

Posted by bostonrs555 on October 25, 2008 at 02:31 AM

Cam is one of the best, ever?!?!?! Cam owns him and is in control most of the fight just waiting for a mistake. Cam's patience in this matter seems to be the turning point as his picks apart his opponent to Blues fans delight!!

Posted by kingpintoo on October 27, 2008 at 12:33 AM

Cam is gonna see a lot of action against bigger guys this year without king in the line up with an injury. Good job Cam. Hey, you Jersey Jab complainers, go jump in a lake. It's a fight, not a dance, and you use everything you can to keep the other guy off balance and inflict punishment with the fists. This is just smart fighting and allows smaller guys to stay with bigger guys and allows more action in the NHL. So shut up you complainers and enjoy the action.

Janssen has a nice jab....

Posted by bruiser11 on October 25, 2008 at 12:29 AM

hahahaa the left sweater jabs!..jassen the slight edge, but odonnell aint no slouch

Posted by Thunder Cat 2 on October 25, 2008 at 07:46 PM

Good fight, Janssen wins it but o'donnell stood his ground. Janssen was swinging for the fences.

Posted by EvilVirus on July 12, 2009 at 03:19 PM

O'Donnell did pretty well for someone who is thirty seven but Janssen is the clear winner in this decent long scrap.

Posted by lostit23 on October 25, 2008 at 01:37 AM

O'donnell hanging on for dear life! win by Cam.......

Posted by Franchise on October 26, 2008 at 07:34 PM

I laughed at the fact O'Donnell was in a fight even before watching it. Not suprisingly, he got worked.

Posted by BooSanta on October 25, 2008 at 02:08 PM

Lots of little jersey jabs here from Janssen again. It's been debated whether or not this enhances the fights. They didn't appear to damage, but rather, annoy Ol' donnell and make him try to squirm away. When they got a little more free of the grabs and jabs the punches missed a bit. Win to Janssen because he was the one who landed the overhand right which was the real nasty punch in this bout. Check out the first punch ol'donnell threw in the slowmo. that was also a good one

Posted by blackgoldfan on October 25, 2008 at 11:34 AM

Cam does well for a little guy (by nhl standards) and convinces me to give him the "W"

Posted by pontusxman on October 31, 2008 at 12:05 PM

Janssen again shows that he will nto be showed up in his house( St.Louis Native). O'donnell doesn't fight to often, but when he does he usually opens a can of you know what with his old man strength. Here, you see in this fight that Janssen's has a very strong core and uppper body strength to hold off and position O'Donnell throughout the fight and controls the pace. If only Janssen were a good 6'3'' or better, he'd be the number one enforcer in the league, being the number one middle weight in the NHL is a close second.

lil' lefts, classic Cam

Posted by PatL25 on November 21, 2008 at 04:10 PM

I like all the labs by Cam

Posted by hughtrain on November 05, 2008 at 10:56 PM

Janssen giving up the size and just dominates the old guy

Posted by perezj on October 26, 2008 at 04:52 PM

Janssen is a joke with the little pussy jab of his. Let him take on a good fighter not one that is old...

Posted by azjim on March 29, 2009 at 07:16 AM

Behn Wilson - those amatuer jersey jabs made the whole thing feel cheap. Don't they? O'Donnell landed his first right and ought to have said "that's what I say to your pussy jersey jabs". Hate that people use them to judge a fight.

Posted by sharpeye on October 25, 2008 at 01:46 AM

I'd give the edge to Janssen is he wasn't such a shit fighter. Those little hang-on jersey-jabs are pathetic. He landed 2 good ones. But he should be fighting real heavyweights, not O'Donnell.

Posted by chad420 on July 20, 2009 at 10:50 PM

win CJ vs an overmatched opponent...nice job throwin OD

Posted by baseballplyr210 on October 26, 2008 at 10:54 AM

Janssen threw the jersey jabs and then came with the rights. Clear W for janssen

Posted by gmr133 on October 27, 2008 at 11:29 AM

Never been a big fan of the jersey jab, but Janssen makes good use of it against a bigger guy. Win Janssen.

Posted by Wild_KO King on October 25, 2008 at 12:20 AM

O'Donnell was looking for bombs, while Janssen fed him about 20-25 jabs. (O'Donnell might have better luck hitting his target if he was looking at it...) Janseen was definitely more active and more effective. Win Janssen. *Can't hate on O'Donnell too much, I still remember when he was the Wild's first captain. Good times.

Posted by Let-m-Go on October 25, 2008 at 11:19 PM

Well neither landed anything worth a win purely on on damage or domination but Janssen lands 10 or so jersey jabs which are more annoying then anything else........with that said its enough coupled with one or two nice over hand rights to get Janssen the win

Posted by werk22 on October 27, 2008 at 12:19 PM

O'Donnell retaliated to Janssen's hit and drops his gloves first, so you can't blame Cam for fighting an older guy. Janssen is only on the ice to change the momentum of games by big hits and fights. He clearly did his job here the blues just didnt respond. Janssen wins.

Posted by Rynryn on October 25, 2008 at 11:29 AM

Cam jabs him into distraction and lands a couple solid blows. not close, but i'm surprise o'donnell did as well as he did.

Posted by TBLightningGuru on October 25, 2008 at 01:33 AM

lol 30 rabbit punches thrown by Jannsen while trying to get the right elbow pad. effective backup plan . Janssen with the easy win

Posted by chelios247 on October 25, 2008 at 02:02 PM

bam bam wins.
