I rarely do the ''long review'' thing...
but in this case, I have to make an exception.

If you told me at the start of the season that the fight of the year
would involve the likes of Cam Janssen and Pete Leblond...
I'd tell you that ''you'd better dial down the crack habit, Dude''.

I mean seriously...WTF was That???!!!

Despite the slight size difference, you'd be hard pressed
to find two more evenly matched fighters, stylistically,
especially with Leblond joining in on the theatre,
and mocking Janssens' ''I'm gonna blow at any minute'' routine.

Leblond looked like Barnaby on steroids,
while Janssen looked like...well...Janssen,
only a more durable version
than the standard broken-nosed, nervous-tick,
bleeding variety, that we often see.

In the end, Leblond held the edge in...
power shots, combinations, upper-cuts, and jersey jabs,
although Janssen landed some bombs as well,
and, more importantly, he never seemed to be in any real trouble,
despite getting truly popped on numerous occasions.

Highlights include Janssen being turned into a bobble head at one point,
and Leblond cocking his right, in the way Janssen (fake) waves off the refs.

Great stuff...Bravo to both guys...I didn't think that you had it in you.

I don't see how Janssen was still up on his skates at the end. The two of them might still be going had the linesmen not intervened. It got to the point where the refs should have tacked on a delay of game call to both fighters.

That is unbelievable. Pierre landed a few more bombs, but very close.

Janssen looked like a damn bobblehead doll.

Great long fight...possibly longest NHL fight ever apparently.
Reminds me of...but not as good and intense as the one between McSorely and Probert years ago.
Good rights by both...though felt PLLL connected with the better ones...hitting Janssen to the side of the head a few times.
I feel PLLL ought to watch his bobbing or cranking his right for the wind up..a smart fighter will time it against him next time.
Gave it an 8.

That was a LOOOOONG Fight!!!! No complaints here!!!!

Jannsen fights are good to watch but no comparison to Marasty fights as far as excitement,,,,check out Marasty /Bosse rounds 1-7 and then marasty /Yablonski

Leblond never stopped waving that right around, and no matter how many rights he took, he still stared right back at Janssen and kept hitting him back. He looked like he wasn't phased at all by getting tagged square in the face. I give the slightest of edges to Leblond for not being shaken and answering every punch he was hit with, and so he takes the win by decision.

Fight of the year? Not. But still the best left-arm-lockout, jersey jab fight I've seen in a few years.
PL3 added a new dimension to the style with that jab-jab-jab-under-over combo that he used twice.
Janssen was simply out-Janssened in this one as PL3 takes it.
