Hockey fight or boxing match?. DRAW

Posted by pjfoster13 on October 25, 2008 at 05:34 PM

Hugfest. This fight was so boring that they panned to footage of David Clarkson standing around doing nothing. Fights are wayyy better when guys just jump at one another and start heaving bombs. Cote is usually much more aggressive. draw for boredom

Posted by Gunslinger on October 25, 2008 at 09:12 AM

Le-Blond fights Cote after boarding him earlier and holds his own. I give it a draw cuz nobody does much, if any, damage. The colour commentater sounds like a jackass though. Who is it?

Posted by BattleAxe13 on October 25, 2008 at 07:22 AM

Pretty boring for a Cote fight, Cote had only a few good punches as did P triple L, no one a clear winner.

Posted by sasso09 on October 29, 2008 at 10:06 AM

Anyone who voted either way shows blatant bias and nuthuggery, this is the clearest draw i've ever seen.

Draw. Alot of Foreplay, not much action

Posted by staceyb on October 25, 2008 at 05:57 AM

Leblond incurred the major boarding penalty in the first period that led to Philly getting back into the game being down one goal and desperate for their first win of the season. Sutter can't be too happy.

Posted by Filthadelphia on October 24, 2008 at 10:23 PM

Draw. Too much hugging in the beginning of the fight.

Posted by Sukoshi84 on October 25, 2008 at 05:28 PM

yet another Draw being scored a win

Posted by bostonrs555 on October 25, 2008 at 02:57 AM

Good fight with bad intentions.... defensive tussle with calculated blows to each others facial region. The amount of effort here is not in question, yet its the substance that lacks...... DEERAWWWW!!!!!!!

Posted by Ragtop1day on October 24, 2008 at 11:06 PM

Flyers - Devils and Cote finds somebody to go with...what a shock....both landed some shots but not much at least from this camera....nice effort by both....I bet they go again sometime down the road....

Posted by flyers32cote on October 25, 2008 at 12:07 PM

very close fight long fight each had their domination parts draw

Posted by Behn Wilson on October 26, 2008 at 02:28 PM

Good long scrap that had its moments, but never realized its potential. Leblond with quantity and Cote with thequality. Draw.

Posted by Flyersfan4life2 on October 25, 2008 at 11:29 AM

I gave this one a draw. Both fighters got some punches in. ARe all the flyers haters in here or what. Voting for Leblond? Bad voting on here as usual. Leblond didnt control the fight or anything. Also, Leblond skated away with a bloody lip.

Posted by Hell of a TILT on October 27, 2008 at 01:34 PM

Both guys landed some good shots.....I give it a DRAW!!

Posted by Brashearfan on October 25, 2008 at 06:10 AM

I thought Cote would have taken out his anger on Leblond, but it ended in a draw. Hopefully round 2 is tonight.

Posted by BooSanta on October 25, 2008 at 01:38 PM

I was there. It looked like the P3L club was winning because his punches looked bigger, but when we got home we had both feeds to look at , the NJ feed thought the fight was over and switched away briefly. The Philly Feed kept the camera on them and had a closer view. P3L got 3 good rights in throughout, one appeared to connect where Jody shelly connected the other night aggravating the shiner under Cote's Eye, but Rocke Sockem Riley landed some good snapping lefts, even more than P3L landed.. Cote was trying to get revenge on the first period boarding and both guys were tired late in their shift so this looks alot more undecided and a rematch is needed today. Head to Philly today for these two as they play home and home. Not sure if Cote is ready to go because his left is busted open pretty bad right now. As for this fight, it appeared to be a draw because Cote actually landed more short punches and P3L had the bigger hits. As for moral victory it seemed to wake up the Flyers, they actually went ahead and won a game after this. Hope the devils keep P3L here to entertain the fight fans.

Really good fight, each landed a couple really nice shots. Love Cote. Draw.

Posted by bernie on December 18, 2009 at 01:18 PM

it was a draw but the coaches should seperate them before someone gets badly hurt...

Posted by Spanky_Jazz on October 25, 2008 at 04:14 AM

Kind of a long fight for what action took place... I gave Leblond the edge.

Posted by Humper on October 25, 2008 at 10:40 AM

P3L gets the win by a thin margin. The waltzing at the start brought the entertainment value way down.

Posted by wannago on October 25, 2008 at 04:04 PM

Cootie is horrible. This was crap until the end when PLLL started teeing off. Cootie should be in the AHL. He is a liability on the ice.

Posted by blazers76 on October 25, 2008 at 04:16 PM

Win P3L. Landed more and left 'ole Riley a souvenir.

Posted by Ortmeyer on October 27, 2008 at 01:50 AM

Good job by PL3

Posted by njteech on October 25, 2008 at 08:33 AM

Leblond with the edge

Posted by paddyd on October 25, 2008 at 11:05 AM

Slight edge to Leblond

Posted by jealeman on October 25, 2008 at 02:55 AM

Good fight by both...have to call it a draw here.

Posted by chl37 on October 27, 2008 at 08:13 AM

not even close. green rookie handles cote easily.

Posted by SirYohans on October 25, 2008 at 11:29 AM

Weird looking fight, considering Cote was involved. Leblond landed some decent shots here and there.

Posted by mr. putzoo on October 25, 2008 at 05:42 PM

How anyone thinks Cote can fight is beyond me...The guy is a punching bag who throws a lot of punches but rarely lands a good shot. The guy will be out of hockey in two years.

Posted by SCOTTSO on October 25, 2008 at 10:23 AM

Posted by Juha82 on October 25, 2008 at 07:56 AM

Not so amazing fight but they did nice job. Leblond with the EDGE.

Posted by brazos on October 25, 2008 at 10:06 AM

A lot of "homers" reviewing this fight. LeBlond had the better of the action. Cote also had a big welt on his left cheek and eye. Both scored some as evidenced by the damage but LeBlond had the advantage.

Posted by neutralfighter on October 25, 2008 at 12:47 PM

Not as good as most Cote fights but the usual result with Cote losing, although it was very close. Gotta credit Cote though, he hangs in there.

Posted by Locco on October 25, 2008 at 12:47 PM

PLL came into the game with stitches from a minor league scrap. He looked calm and landed more. Cote though was rammed into the boards and may have suffered effects. Edge PLLL.

Posted by Lucy Brown on October 25, 2008 at 10:56 AM

Wow Cote is a bum. He cant buy a win.

Posted by dedevil on October 25, 2008 at 09:07 AM

I was watching the game live. Love how Cote went off the ice at the beginning of the shift, rested, and then came back to challenge LLL at the end of the shift.

Posted by bruiseyoureye on April 10, 2009 at 10:30 AM

cote got his ass kicked

Posted by Jellyczar on October 25, 2008 at 06:51 PM

P-L L-L is victor. Cote is losing more fights than last year. I expect more players to start going with Cote....

Posted by DetroitIan on October 25, 2008 at 04:06 AM

Leblond landed more head shots and landed more body shots. Gotta give him the win here.

Posted by Josh6708 on October 25, 2008 at 11:01 PM

Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond! the guy is an animal he can take one anyone in the nhl and hold his own just wait you will see soon enough

Posted by doolinator on October 25, 2008 at 04:29 PM

PLLL bringing it to the big man in Cote, and winning!!! this is exactly what new jersey need, a good fighter who can stand up to guys like Cote. Although I do have alot of respect for Clarkson he just isnt a great fighter, its time for him to step aside and let PLLL take over in that department.

Posted by blackgoldfan on October 25, 2008 at 11:16 AM

Real good match up from these 2 fighters. Sorry but after real close investigation PLLL lands more punches. More body shots more head shots. Cote gives us another highly entertaing scrap and nearly K.O's PLLL at the end. But not enuff to take away the "W" from PLLL.

Posted by EDDUBBS on February 16, 2009 at 02:35 PM

slight edge to Cote

Posted by Flyersfan68 on October 25, 2008 at 04:51 AM

Close fight, I thought Cote got more punches in

Posted by scorp1on on October 26, 2008 at 05:31 PM

Leblond had to reset the nueral connections three times from solid Cote punches while Cote was only shaken once. I agree with Behn Wilson on the draw - with PL3 quantity and Cote quality - but since so many have PL3 winning, I have to address this imbalance with a homer move of my own. Win Cote.

Posted by smwarpig63 on October 24, 2008 at 11:33 PM

I really think it is a draw but it is ridiculous that at this early stage 40% of you are saying Leblond. It was way to even to call a winner, but I am saying Cote to balance out the biased voting.

Posted by Wild_KO King on October 25, 2008 at 12:30 AM

Was there a fight? I fell asleep waiting for it to get going.....j/k, pretty good scrap, both landing some good lefts, Double L looking like he got the best of the exchanges. Going to have to call it a draw though, no one did anything to earn the W.

Posted by Zodijackyl on October 26, 2008 at 04:28 PM

Worst fight so far this season.

Posted by gmr133 on October 27, 2008 at 11:22 AM

Each guy with some good punches, nobody goes down. PL3 taking on whoever he has to take on. Cote should spend less time trying to take the guys helmet off and more time just punching. Draw.

Posted by barnibizer on October 24, 2008 at 10:45 PM

I thought it was a good fight. Tactical and some decent, stern punches thrown, but no haymakers. Not sure what fight the other comments were watching. These boys landed a few nice shots. Draw.

Posted by TBLightningGuru on October 25, 2008 at 01:28 AM

lol love the thing by the announcers where he said "smart fight by both" "they didnt stay in close" AS THEY WERE HUGGING lol.

Posted by bloodchurn on October 26, 2008 at 04:38 AM

Great Draw!

Posted by mbgrocki on February 24, 2009 at 02:57 PM

good fight, but nothing stands out to give either an edge...draw

Posted by bam932 on October 24, 2008 at 10:36 PM

Was starting to think that Cote couldn't have a dull fight.... I was wrong. Neither guy deserves the win - draw all the way.

Posted by rb97 on October 25, 2008 at 04:55 PM

cote is 0-4 on the season by vote

Posted by chad420 on January 25, 2009 at 09:06 PM

edge P3L

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on March 05, 2015 at 02:45 AM

PLLL won even though Cote split him open a bit

Posted by Let-m-Go on October 25, 2008 at 04:55 PM

Very close fight and I live in Philly ......Im a huge Cote fan but I always preach "damage" and Cote is sporting a nice shiner which actually just turned into a closing eye from his fight today with Rupp.......Cote is a great anytime anyone kinda fighter but Leblond didnt have a scratch no him........slight ege to Leblond

Posted by demodogpack on October 26, 2008 at 01:04 PM

Leblond tripped when Cote landed the 2 lefts. Before that Cote was eating big rights the whole time.

Posted by CocoQuaker7 on October 25, 2008 at 09:13 AM

For as often as Cote fights, you'd think he'd win more fights.

Posted by bigdog2007 on October 25, 2008 at 07:19 AM

Love watching Miley Cote's head get snapped back!! Was that Cote or Huggybear Brashear? What was he waiting for at the start of the fight? Balls? Miley landed a few. Leblond landed more. Simple. When will Miley win a fight. It's not enough just "showing up".

Posted by illukka on October 27, 2008 at 03:07 AM

obviously pierre 3L's 1st blows hurt riley, as he started to hug for his life a clear win for p3L

Posted by flyboy88 on October 25, 2008 at 09:24 AM

I've come to accept the fact that A: no one on this board likes the Flyers B: you can't judge a fight. How anyone say this as Blondie winning is nuts!
