You cant really see on this video... but while watching the game, Simon busted open Fedoruk's eye. I give this one to Simon hands down although Fedoruk did stun simon at the end with a couple blows, but then Simon threw those big uppercuts on him and I call it OVER

Posted by Rebel Banker on February 28, 2007 at 08:47 PM

Great fight...I give it a draw...simon won early but fridge came back with some big shots of his own...i give simon credit for dropping the gloves eventhough his team was up 4-1...also, it was nice to see fridge take some big shots and come back...hopefully, this will be a sign of him getting over his injury... frdige says he was greatful for simon going with him... "i asked him to go and he ak=sked me if i was sure"..." i told him i needed to do something to get my team going" ...that takes a set ofbrass ones after the year he has had...also showed class by not throwing them once simon lost his balance

Posted by jkeeso on July 20, 2007 at 07:57 PM

Fedoruk hung in there, but Simon was in control 80% of the time.

im going to miss todd

another loss for fridge...he's not been the same since he became part of boogaard's highlight reel

Nice fight Simon!

i have to go with simon on the win, but very good and tight fight

Posted by ithockey158 on March 04, 2007 at 01:09 PM

wow...thats all i have to say

Posted by bronx1981 on March 15, 2007 at 09:52 PM

Even though i like seeing Simon get blasted in his mouth, i give it to him, but A for effort on Fodoruks part.

Posted by dpistawka on March 02, 2007 at 05:43 PM

looked ugly for fedoruk at first, but he came back with some of his own. simon's tough, but i wouldn't be so quick to give him the win. for a guy who had a crushed face, fedoruk showed alot of guts.

Posted by hrngmprd on February 28, 2007 at 03:42 PM

This was a great fight which Simon won hands down. I respect Fedoruk a lot more now for NOT hitting Simon while he was down. Not a lot of guys would have done that.

Posted by luggage on February 28, 2007 at 01:06 PM

second half of the fight todd won

Posted by Leafs2006 on February 28, 2007 at 06:39 PM

Simon is a big dude, but i give Feds credit for hangin in there. Those NY announcers are annoying to listen to, too one sided on their commentary. Decision Simon.

Posted by Tony Esposito on February 28, 2007 at 07:55 PM

Chris Simon has not lost a step yet. He is a great fighter. Fridge looks like he was trying to prove something and was willing to take a few to prove he belongs there.

Posted by Gunslinger on March 03, 2007 at 08:25 AM

Nice to see Simon starting to fight again. Maybe he thinks its time to reclaim the heavyweight crown. Have to admire Fedoruk,s willingness to fight in light of his injury and he is slowly getting back to his old form but he still isnt there yet.

Posted by Boris14 on March 01, 2007 at 03:28 PM

Close fight but I would give the decision to Simon. It looked like Fedoruk was on the defensive for most of the tilt. Nice shots landed by both.

Posted by thomas59 on February 28, 2007 at 02:57 PM

Good scrap for Fridge. His last few fights where he got hit in the face seemed to make him grab and hold on, kinda testing the new orbital surgery...Its good to see Fridge take a few on the face and fire back this time. Have to give the nod to Simon for connecting more often....

I love what was said by the announcers, Fedoruk's face must have heeled quit nicely.

Posted by The Linkster on February 28, 2007 at 11:57 AM

The Fridge was game, but he's lost his game. Simon can still throw them-when he wants to. Hope Fridge doesn't end up a punching bag like Garrett Burnett did.

Posted by corboy on February 28, 2007 at 09:16 PM

Simon won this fight with some big lefts, but I give Fedoruk credit for weathering the blows. Fedoruk landed some nice rights near the end, but not enough to sway the vote. Good fight.

Posted by jjowen on February 28, 2007 at 07:17 AM

Back and forth but I think Simon landed a few more quality shots.

Posted by chl37 on February 28, 2007 at 07:59 AM

Simon a clear winner, although was best showing for Fedoruk in a long time. Philly still without quality heavyweight. The cheap shots against Crosby and other Pens will soon stop with LaRaque now in the division.

Posted by Big Trip on July 03, 2007 at 02:33 PM

that was awesome

Posted by The Don on October 24, 2007 at 08:08 PM

Simon busts up damaged goods in Fedoruk.... It's a real shame that Fedoruk looked so bad that season.

Posted by JKidd on February 28, 2007 at 10:30 AM

Great bout. Both guys threw the knuckles with ill intent, and Simon got the better of Fridge.

Posted by FlagsFan on February 28, 2007 at 06:20 PM

Win Simon, end of story.Fedoruk is still iffy on taking punches.

Posted by Oliwa 29 on February 28, 2007 at 08:24 PM

Wow, I really find myself pulling for Fedoruk these days after his Boogaard beating. Good to see that he remembers what got him into the NHL and whats going to keep him there. Of course as a Flames fan when it come to him and Godard I gotta go with my team. GO FLAMES GO

Posted by BENNETTWOLF on February 28, 2007 at 03:35 PM

Great heavyweight fight between two guys who have seen better days but can still hurt people. Simon won with two seperate flurries, connecting solidly with lefts and a big uppercut. Fedoruk (who is having an off year-orbital bone) looked to bloody Cy and connected on a few himself. Always classy, win or lose, He didn't win but always game and exciting. Simon evoked days of old.

Posted by shane0mack on March 10, 2007 at 02:20 PM

simon scores a goal and when fedoruk tries to give his team some fire, simon just denies him. great fight

Posted by lekid_16 on February 28, 2007 at 06:34 PM

I think Simon won, but he needs to be much stronger on his skates now that Laraque is in the same division and looking at becoming the bully.

Posted by ItalianHunk21 on February 28, 2007 at 01:29 PM

Wow... Simon landed some early monster shots... but give Fedoruk some credit. He took a beating, but kept going... I would have liked to see the ended had Simon not fallen. Simon was the winner, but it was getting real close towards the end.

Posted by sedras on February 28, 2007 at 09:03 PM

At least Fedoruk was up for the challenge, but Simon handled him easily.

Posted by IceCop on February 28, 2007 at 10:08 AM

Good fight. Simon showed he can still throw when he wants to. Fedoruk looks like he is starting to get back in form after his injuries . Two guys who still give the fans their monies worth. Win Simon in a nice tilt.

Posted by jealeman on February 28, 2007 at 12:52 PM

Interesting fight... Simon got the early punches, Fedoruk didn't cave, showed heart and responded, and Simon finished strong until he was thrown to the ice by Fedoruk. Probably Fedoruk's best fight since the Boogey Man crushed him, but still have to give it to Simon for better showing. Overall good fight.

Posted by dennis duffy on March 05, 2007 at 10:51 AM

good fight, with some bombs from both. Edge to Simon.

Posted by Icedog on March 01, 2007 at 02:45 AM

Simon will never be someone anyone should take lightly.

Posted by PensFanDave7187 on March 02, 2007 at 12:58 AM

Fedoruk did a good job of hanging in and taking the first wave from Simon and got in some good shots of his own. Simon should have KO'ed him but hey some nights u just cant get that one real good shot in. Simon gets the win but Fedoruk gets an honorable mention for taking abuse and still coming back

Posted by Finned Senator on February 28, 2007 at 06:56 PM

Simon completely took Fedoruk out in this fight. No competition.

Posted by es6115 on March 26, 2007 at 12:55 AM

i like the comment about Fedoruk having a cut under his right eye.........you know where the metal plate popped through.......Simon wins this big time but Todd keeps going so hats off to his heart

Posted by Jordybats99 on April 01, 2016 at 02:14 PM

Simon dominating win.

Posted by chris_mcallister on February 28, 2007 at 11:49 AM

Simon definitely landed some bombs and cut Fedoruk with one of those lefts early in the fight. Fedoruk took some punishment, which was the best thing that could have happened to him and then almost took over the second half of the fight at one point landing two straight rights that seemed to stun Simon. Win Simon

Posted by buchockey221 on March 03, 2007 at 12:11 PM

simmon win thats that

Posted by wallysy1 on March 01, 2007 at 12:06 AM

Fedoruk looked a lot better and less hesitant in thi sfight. He took some stinging hits--some incredible bombs and still managed to lose just a close one. He hit Simon with some decent shots as well. Clearly Simon, but my respect for Fedoruk is renewed.

Posted by wellwood42 on March 02, 2007 at 04:58 PM

Haven't heard much from physco Simon these year, great to see Toddy throwin bombs again. Awsome tilt..... Score one for Simon

Posted by blairrice on March 01, 2007 at 02:31 PM

What a start from two big guys great fight, good to see when Simon went down that there was no more punches thrown.

Posted by Tex Creelo on March 01, 2007 at 08:15 PM

great bout. holdin' w/ one and throwin' w/ the other

Posted by weedoggy on March 04, 2007 at 12:30 PM

looked like an old kyte.

Posted by Leeskee on February 28, 2007 at 05:11 PM

This was an awesome fight...suprised fedoruk never quit, holy smokes he can take a beating... I was never an Islander fan, but man there making some good moves this year. They acquired some more great offence , and possibly the toughest team in the league proving that last night. Way to go Ted Nolan and Garth Snow. If I didn't live on the other side of the continent i'd be a season ticket holder

Posted by UnderdogDMG on February 28, 2007 at 11:01 PM

Chris Simons left was unbelievable note to contenders.

Posted by mikebflorida on February 28, 2007 at 09:18 AM

Great bout! Simon looked to be destroying Todd when Todd comes back and earned some serious respect. Simon takes it on points.

Posted by jsr1034 on March 03, 2007 at 11:57 AM

Simon pwned

Posted by spiderlakeDave on June 14, 2016 at 05:35 PM

Simon early but great comeback by Fedoruk. Simon overall lands more bombs. Great fight.

Posted by slshbleed on February 28, 2007 at 04:50 PM

Simon had a shoulder problem for a while. For a few years, he was inconsistent. With modern sports medicine, better training methods etc, we get used to guys coming back quickly from injuries. Fedoruk made it a great fight by hanging in there. Is Simon didn't fall down, the fight might still be going.

Posted by Denman on February 28, 2007 at 10:52 PM

That was a great fight! Lots of punching and landing for both.

Posted by islesfan10 on March 01, 2007 at 06:21 AM

Simon dominated, busting open Fedoruk. You can tell that Simon was tired from scoring the goal on his previous shift otherwise, I see him fighting even better.

Posted by Vukota on February 28, 2007 at 08:58 PM

Simon destroyed the Fridge. He looked more like a mini fridge last night. Simon can still throw with the best of them. Bring on Laraque!!!!!

Posted by smash1 on March 01, 2007 at 02:35 AM

happy to see the fridge get back on the horse against a guy who could be one of the toughest out there if he would fight more. win simon but todd looked alot better than he has following the boogard fight.

Posted by CujoSmith on March 02, 2007 at 07:00 PM

great fight i think simon had a few more good punches in that one. if that moster popup keeps popping up on me on this site im gonna stab something arrrgghhh. great fight

Posted by Dragonized on June 02, 2007 at 03:39 PM

Good fight!

Posted by Juha82 on February 18, 2010 at 03:04 AM

EDGE/NARROW WIN C.Simon who landed more shots here. Fridge answered with some of his own well. keeping the fight more close than one-sided.

Posted by lazygarcia on February 28, 2007 at 06:58 PM

Great fight, but once again Fedoruk gets beaten up. It was a shame to see Simon fall to the ice near the end of the fight. It's possible there was a KO coming! Simon has destroyed the last few guys he has fought! At first I thought it was another Mark Fraser like beating coming to Fedoruk, but the Fridge made it closer than expected by the end of the fight. He still isnt doing a good job of protecting his face when he fights. I thought he wouldve learned from getting it crumpled in by Boogard awhile back! Either way, this will be contested as the best fight of the year, at the end of the NHL season.

Posted by Iljas on February 28, 2007 at 05:42 AM

Simon started with good punches, then come Fedoruk ... in the end a close victory for Fedoruk thanx wrestling-put (but more punches get from Simon)

ok this was a shock of a fight for me and i am thrilled!!! both guys really gained huge from this fight Fridge is finally back and was in a REAL fight for the first time since Boogy and there was not quit in our guy and that was like the old Fridge...he took some heavy shots but looked to gain confidence as the fight went on almost like....hey that wasn't so bad and big tip of the hat to Simon who really looked like he was into it and we all know how tough he was and in this fight it took me back to the good old Simon days for even one fight given where these guys started from before this fight ....both were kind of on the outs IMO.....this fight was shocking, really great, both guys won huge....and i have it as an 8 out of 10 and a top 5 fight of the year sorry to sound so giddy its just so cool to see these guys throw down like this!!

Posted by Lucy Brown on February 28, 2007 at 09:46 AM

T Fed is done. Sad to see this guy get pounded everytime now. This guy needs to quit before somebody hurts him again. He was lucky Simon didnt break his face again. Clearly a lopsided win for Simon. Also for the couple of people who thought T FED won or that this fight was a draw, I have to ask what fight were you watching? Maybe you watched this fight thru Flyer colored glasses.

Posted by CrueL on February 28, 2007 at 11:48 AM

Fedoruk won...Simon was down first on the ice...

Posted by hateuall on February 28, 2007 at 04:20 AM

Simon destroys Fedoruk with real hits that really land on target. Fedoruk throws a few punches, before realising its no use and wrestles Simon to the ice. Easy win for Simon.
