Punching the guy when he is on the ice is crap. Downie is trash.

Posted by hpfour on November 23, 2014 at 08:53 AM

Downie would have won, but I can't vote for a guy who punches a guy after the fight is over and when the ref is holding him down.

Posted by Mounty in NC on November 25, 2014 at 07:51 AM

Downie with the obvious win....I find it funny though that some on here are saying Downie took a cheap shop at the end but did Harmonic not throw a punch when Downie went down on one that not a cheap shot also. Guess Islander fans only want to see things one way

That was a nice scrap. Love Downie's intensity!

Another great insight from a female reporter....Thanks for pointing out the obvious...

Downie is such a pussy.. Hamonic is down and Downie is still trying to hit him.. what a loser!

Posted by blbjd on November 23, 2014 at 08:44 PM

Wow, this is the state of hockey, downy and harmonic are the best fight of the night. How pathetic, where the hell is Mcgrattan, orr, bouiton, thornton, all the real fighters? they just disappear and we have to watch crap fight over crap fight and how boring and pathetic this game has become.

Posted by briggsy on November 23, 2014 at 11:25 AM

Anyone else see the hot cheerleader around the :40 sec mark as Hamonic left the ice.................very nice!

Win Downie, I really like this revitalized aggression from Downie this season. Albeit I highly dislike his antics but, I have a unwavering respect for what he does. Downie & 4

I'm I hearing the NHL resorting to musical accompaniment when there's a fight FML, this is as sad as it gets.

Posted by DirtyBird on November 22, 2014 at 08:55 PM

Downie landed the more quality punches.

Posted by gsrae on November 23, 2014 at 12:46 AM

Donnie in a close one

Posted by rocky 1 on November 23, 2014 at 01:17 PM

Steve Downie pretty easily here!It seems that no one has commented that guys like Downie are still in the league because the real fighters remain unsigned or unable to get ice time to fight.New league unwritten rule(No real heavies fighting will be tolerated)

Downie with the win here

Posted by Elegance on November 23, 2014 at 04:08 AM

Winner: Steve Downie. bout a 5, Downey a 5, Hamonic a 4, kind of close. Good fight. While Downie leads the league in PIMs, he has up till the 3rd period kept his game fairly clean, but that fell off tonight. Anger got the best of him and he did something stupid, which is no surprise. I would not be surprised to see a suspension coming his way, and I can not defend him on that. I'd like to see Sill vs. Martin, that would be a hell of a fight. Not sure why Sill is not fighting, but when you play goon minutes you need to play like a goon. Sill has had some good hits but he has 0 points in the season, and soon he may find himself down in Wilks Berrie/Scranton.

Downie wins..landed several clean shots, Hamonic only 1 or 2. Would have liked it better if he didn't throw a couple of cheap shots at the end

Posted by English_Bruin on November 23, 2014 at 02:05 PM

I gave it 5 for that woman at the end :o Win Downie

Posted by bigmike53 on November 23, 2014 at 12:20 AM

Downie effectively ties up Hamonic's right hand to hammer out the win. Downie with some cheap shots when Hamonic is on the ice.

Posted by TexasFlood on November 23, 2014 at 09:14 AM

Downie is a little punk

Posted by Behn Wilson on November 23, 2014 at 06:17 AM

Somewhat surprisingly Downie exposes Hamonic as the poor man's Matt Martin that he is

night of rematches.1st campbell vs weise now downie vs hamonic win downie...can such a humiliating end of the fight be classified as tko?hamonic seemed desperately waiting for linesmen to save him

Posted by thrillram on November 23, 2014 at 09:25 PM

Harmonic is very weak.

Posted by dcmac on November 23, 2014 at 08:15 PM

Downie took care of business. Wish it had been the other way around. Hamonic never had a chance to get going.

Posted by Great Murray on November 23, 2014 at 09:12 AM

Heck of a fight. It's good that Downie missed that date with Martin. He had a lot easier time with Hamonic...TKO...Travis was clearly looking for smelling salts at the end.

Posted by killravens on November 24, 2014 at 10:14 AM

Obviously no love loss between these two. Win Downie, in a good scrap. No the NYI fans; Sill wanted to go with MM the whole game to no avail.

Close at first but Downie took over, winning decisively.

Posted by irishdefense on November 23, 2014 at 05:10 AM

Downie with the clear win. Shouldn't have given him the extra shot when he was down.

Posted by doobi1 on November 23, 2014 at 12:20 AM

Downie went down, had a bloody nose, but still whipped the snot out of Harmonica. Tough to play the jazz riffs when you don't know how to play the harmonica. Solid win to Downie. Lets go Pens!

Posted by Jordybats99 on December 18, 2016 at 12:38 PM

Good fight. Win Downie.

Posted by nait on November 22, 2014 at 08:52 PM

Downie was pssed

Posted by KnckleSndwch on November 22, 2014 at 11:10 PM

Downie with the clear win.

Posted by Humper on November 22, 2014 at 09:03 PM

Spirited match between two fairly evenly matched guys. It was heading for a draw until Downie got his spinach on and nailed the win.

Posted by kkdowning on November 23, 2014 at 11:19 AM

It really hurts me to give Downie the win. But I have to, even after deducting a point for hitting after bell when Hamonic was on the ice. At least Downie being a dunce turned around the game later when he took a stupid penalty and a 10 minute misconduct

Posted by Massive Coiler on November 22, 2014 at 08:45 PM

This one's pretty close, I think Downie gets the close edge. That being said, I really don't like that he was trying to hit him while he was down, even if that last shot didn't connect, it was a cheap move.

Posted by ironbar44 on November 23, 2014 at 09:29 PM

DOWNIE with clear win, hard to like the guy.picks his spots .wonder if he would step up to BOULTON ,he beat a tough kid bit he isn't a good fighter

Posted by King of Goons on November 22, 2014 at 11:19 PM

Downie hides from Matt Martin and picks Hamonic instead. Typical Downie. These two have fought twice this season. One win apiece.

Posted by mr. puttzo on November 22, 2014 at 11:31 PM

a chicken shit punk who picks his spots. Wanted no part of Martin

Posted by MikeVee on November 23, 2014 at 12:50 AM

Homers-Downey is NOT a fighter and doesn't need to fight Martin or Boulton. He fought someone his own size and beat the hell out of him. Stop repeating what the idiot Islander announcers said and think for yourself.
