Hamonic with the moral victory, while Gudbranson wins in a physical reality sense.

Posted by bigmike53 on October 03, 2018 at 11:24 PM

Harmonic literally takes one for the team. Gudbranson works him over pretty good to get the TKO win.

Good on Hamonic for stepping up for a teammate, but BOOM... Guddy brought the hammer down. Or up, technically. And then down.

Posted by von_swine on October 04, 2018 at 02:18 AM

the guy with Ham in his name loses... Gudbranson doles out a guud pounding to the Flames D-man.. #44 FTW

The flames are just like last year going to get bounced around and scorers wil get hit and taken advantage of because of size, The Flames have some great fighters that they don't play, just gonna take a Johnny hockey or young Dube getting taken out to finally bring someone in . Get rid of Lazar and Hathaway and bring in some fighters, those two are not going to score goals or win fights. Total Shame.l

Hamonic won't be playing his mouth organ for a while. [It feels like the first day of school here]

I think Hamonic should have been given 2 extra minutes for stupidity!I see that Behn Wilson is off to his old adage that more is more.Ha!

Brutal uppercut to end it. Looks like a facial fracture for Hamonic. Not sure he'll be the guy to "take one for the team" ever again.

Posted by canamrugby on October 04, 2018 at 11:28 PM

Oh boy, Hamonic is lucky to have his face still intact. Calgary of course up to its familiar tricks of sucking at everything, including fighting.

Posted by Double Nickels on October 04, 2018 at 05:57 AM

I think he caught him in the throat with that punch. Ouch.

Posted by GreatMurray on October 04, 2018 at 08:41 AM

Gudbranson way too much for Hamonic. Points to Hamonic for stepping in for the rook but a TKO was his reward.

Posted by hardcase on October 05, 2018 at 12:17 PM

Behn is back with his bullshit posts

Posted by AxlRose91 on October 05, 2018 at 01:38 PM

It's too bad Gudbranson sucks so badly at hockey. Dude can fight

Posted by Behn Wilson on October 04, 2018 at 07:35 AM

Well well well... Here we go again... Hope that you all had a great summer and although it seems like the meteorite is perpetually Yucatan bound... let’s at least still try to enjoy the last days of the dinosaurs while they continue to roam open plains in their ever diminishing herds Here we kick things off with a decent start to the festivities... as Gudbranson misreads the situation and decides to use an intensive punch-based version of the reverse Heimlich maneuver... in a misguided attempt to dislodge an accidentally inhaled harmonica from the throat of blues legend L’il Travis PS Nice to see some of my fave familiar faces again like Big Mike (my personal T-Rex bodygaurd) Von Swiney Looch and the rest Here’s to a great season

Hamonic avenges his fallen rookie teammate. Unfortunately he joins Dube in the falling department. Brave but, misguided. KD for Gudbranson after a huge over and under combo.

Posted by double d on October 05, 2018 at 05:18 PM

BOOM!! i think he broke his f...ing face. when travis gets on the ice again he'll be wearing a full cage on his brain bucket.

Posted by ItMe_Gritty on October 03, 2018 at 11:22 PM

Gudbranson popped em!

Posted by staceyb on October 04, 2018 at 09:19 AM

Not that Hamonic did that badly but at the end Guddy really rocked him with the uppercut. Ouch.

Posted by alanster on October 03, 2018 at 11:18 PM

Hamonic was brave but overmatched.

Posted by Hilaker on October 05, 2018 at 11:23 PM

Poor Hamonic played the good teammate and got this teeth knocked down his throat. I got to think Calgary is going to be pushed around all season if they don't get some toughness to protect the youngsters.

Posted by day4nite2 on October 04, 2018 at 12:17 AM

Got to hand it to Hamonic he was stepping up in weight classes for a earlier hit Gudbranson made on the rookie Dube. After a early slip, Guddy imposes his will and puts the hurt on Hammy.

Posted by tacomania on October 04, 2018 at 01:47 AM

gudbranson ,I wonder if he broke harmonic face

Posted by 89Blakey on October 04, 2018 at 09:46 AM

Gudbranson has stone hands and Hamonic face found that out the hard way

Posted by Alex_2754 on October 04, 2018 at 07:48 AM

Close fight and a good one. I say an 8. Gudbranson win via ko

Posted by Jimmy Paek on October 17, 2018 at 05:01 PM

Hamonic shows heart defending his teammate and stepping up against a bigger man. It didn't end well for him this time but a VERY tough dude to finish the game despite suffering a facial fracture here... (stick taps)

Posted by efp on October 04, 2018 at 01:24 AM

Hey!!! They squared off!!! This punching the back of the head garbage. If he ducks come up under. Whats with these fights?

Posted by Lumpy310 on October 14, 2018 at 02:23 PM

Behn Wilson continues to break me up. Luv ya Pal.

Posted by Jim02351 on October 04, 2018 at 12:38 AM

Hamonic should stick to picking on people his own size.

Posted by Mounty in NC on October 04, 2018 at 07:01 PM

Congrats to Harmonic for standing up for his teammates but he was no match for the much bigger and more experienced fighter. TKO and a 5 for Guds

Posted by claire alexande on October 06, 2018 at 03:32 AM

Valiant intent from Hamonic, but he learns the hard way that while short arms are useful in some aspects of life they are a distinct disadvantage in the realm of hockey fights.

Posted by lucic17 on October 03, 2018 at 11:31 PM

Ouch. If it hurt to watch it must have hurt much more to take that punch. A game but overmatched Hamonic gets smoked. I give hime a lot of credit. He never did much his first few years with the Islanders but then he started to step in, got aggressive and actually throw punches. Glad to see the progression, especially since we see so few decent fights these days.

Posted by GlenP on October 04, 2018 at 09:37 AM

Nice to see opening night with a good "go". Hopefully this will continue through the season.......miss guys who can throw'em.

Posted by WhoWearsHelmets on November 10, 2018 at 04:27 PM

Respect to Hamonic going against a big dude like Guddy

Posted by grrbronco81 on October 05, 2018 at 12:51 PM

Great tussle and Ham really took this one on the chin. Hope he's not out long, but he won't be sticking up for his guys for a while regardless.

Posted by fightingiswrong on October 06, 2018 at 10:02 PM

Can’t stand Hamonic. Glad that Gudbranson broke his stupid ugly face. Hopefully there’s a round two and he can break the other side and maybe knock out a few teeth. I sure do love to see a dingleberry like him get seriously hurt trying to be a tough guy. He’s lucky that he still walks among the living. Calgary is full of twerps like him, and they all need to just shut up and take their medicine. This is a game for men. Men with big, juicy balls and hairy faces. I urinate on the Calgary Flames logo daily.
