A lot of misses but good fight. Draw

Posted by BrettB on April 04, 2011 at 09:52 AM

Big #4 going for some payback. Good early, but Boll comes on in the end. I'll give this a draw.

Posted by DanHalen on March 31, 2011 at 09:34 PM

couple good shots each on helmets Erskine had a bit of an edge but close enough to call it a DRAW!

Posted by shane0mack on April 01, 2011 at 11:37 AM

I'm not really sure why this is overwhelmingly going in Erskine's favor, except for perhaps some homers. As an outside party, this looks like a clear draw to me as many of Erskine's punches missed or got nothing but shoulder pad (especially as re-seen at the end of the clip). Looked like they landed an equal share of punches with equal effectiveness. Boll definitely got at least one good one in on Erskine. Decent fight b/w 2 heavyweights but short so I give it a 6 & draw.

Good fight. Erskine is a tough defman not given enough credit on this forum. He absolutely kicked my boy, Lucic's ass in recent history. He reminds me of a modern day BobMcGill. Good luck fighting him. It's a draw, but Boll will remember this fight. lol I hope Shane Knighty fills that role for us and gives Thornton a break. Of course, Cluade actually has to play him on a regular basis

I feel Boll is getting the short stick on the reviews... Erskine probably threw more but Boll landed just as many. Good spirited bout. I see a 6 and a Draw.

erskine is a beast.i love how he didnt give boll any chance to fight his boring defensive minded style.gave it 7 but i dont think they landed much except that erskines first it draw but im fine with edge erskine too

Posted by rocky 1 on April 01, 2011 at 07:22 PM

Good little scrap and so i give it a draw!Stop voting homers if you can not be unbiased in your voting!

boll,s very underated,.takes on all the bigs...draw.

Posted by mark verbiest on April 01, 2011 at 11:19 AM

Good fight.Lots of punches thrown.Erskine connected early, then Boll caught him late.

Posted by pepsigenerate on March 31, 2011 at 10:50 PM

Erskine threw them wild swings for the win.

Posted by slavv on April 02, 2011 at 04:30 PM

Boll got very lucky that Erskine's shots were off the mark. Erskine was dictating and Boll was praying until the jersey went over Erskine's head...

Posted by kbelanger33nyi on March 31, 2011 at 10:41 PM

Erskine is a beast! Loved him on the Isles-would love to have him back, instead of our smurf defensemen.

Posted by staceyb on April 01, 2011 at 08:54 AM

Confucius say when losing fight pull jersey over adversary's head. Boll was losing up until that point. Erskine with the win.

I love watching Erskine fight. He punches from his soul...Every throw could be a fight-ender.

Posted by Juha82 on April 01, 2011 at 09:47 AM

NARROW WIn Erskine, he landed more/better. Good fight but not great either.

Posted by b.t.wilson on March 31, 2011 at 08:59 PM

Boll has the courage of twenty ordinary men. He is lucky he didn't get caught because Erskine truly chucks to kill. Boll stood in and threw, didn't seem like an awful lot landed but I'm going edge to Erskine. Two good scrappers put on a good wild scrap. 6.

erskine gets the win in this fight.

wow boll just sucks

Posted by Avlos on April 02, 2011 at 01:21 AM

erskine fights to kill. boll fights not to get killed. win john e.

Posted by Behn Wilson on April 01, 2011 at 01:18 AM

Love the way that Erskine launched into things, but Boll, to his credit, hung in there for the duration of this condensed bomb-fest. I don't get to say this often, since the by-gone days of Dick Irvin, and Danny Gallivan... but that was some quality commentary by the (|I'm assuming) Caps play by play crew.

Posted by ETR on March 31, 2011 at 10:02 PM

Edge to Erskine for throwing some bombs.

Posted by tattooedkingpin on April 03, 2011 at 10:49 AM

Man, Erskine's a big dude. W for Erskine

Posted by Detroit_Caps on March 31, 2011 at 08:30 PM

At least Boll didnt die. . .

Posted by Don Berry on March 31, 2011 at 08:40 PM

I'll go with Erskine there. Early advantage for sure.

Posted by sedinfan on April 01, 2011 at 12:03 AM

Erskine doesn't win them all, but he so much fun to watch. Win Erskine in a short but sweet slugfest.

Posted by Ajaxechkin on April 03, 2011 at 04:20 PM

Erskine brings the Thunder, Lightning just didn't connect.

Posted by ilehmanj on April 01, 2011 at 07:14 AM

Erskine landed the two big punches.... Boll's were glancing blows to the back of the head

Posted by chiclets on April 03, 2011 at 03:16 AM

Boll looked like Avery in that fight.

Posted by GreatMurray on April 01, 2011 at 08:27 AM

Erskine wins. Good fight from a couple of bomb throwers

Posted by TommyGun29 on April 01, 2011 at 10:41 AM

Ersky with the W. Boll can take a punch man...the first one was right on the button.

Posted by koolpunch on March 31, 2011 at 10:36 PM

Erskine is a beast. Shaking Boll with his left between throwing with his right....

Posted by sentientcheese on March 31, 2011 at 08:57 PM

They need to get a binding UN resolution to stop erskine from dropping those bombs. thank goodness for the extra shoulder pads.. or this woulda been a KO

Posted by Madhouse27 on April 01, 2011 at 06:50 PM

I give a ton of credit to Jared Boll. I wouldn't fight John Erskine with a bat in my hands. He's just one of the genuinely tough dudes. Erskine definately gets the nod here in a good close fight. Again props to Boll for hanging in there and firing some shots of his own. Been lurking on here a long time. Feels good to finally be registered and making my first post.

Posted by TAZDEVIL on April 01, 2011 at 01:24 PM

Seriously!!!! This fight was no draw. Pay attention to the beginning of the fight. Erskine lands a flurry of hits and when he wasnt pounding him with his free hand he was shaking him around with his other hand. The power in Erskines hits would crumple a regular man. Boll is a fighter no question and he can take a hit, he just proved it, but he might want to stand back of the championship ring for a little while longer. Going toe to toe with Big Johnny E might not be a real positive career move. John Erskine is a brawler and a player. I'm not a big Washington fan but this guy is fun to watch. John Erskine has been overlooked and underestimated for far to long. I wish he played for the Habs. They could use a solid defencemen that can be counted on for all aspects of the game.

Posted by AZfromNJ on March 31, 2011 at 08:41 PM

What a ight of fights!!! Lessard-Hordi was a dandy but these guys took it another level, they were throwing BOMBS!! Erkskine would have knocked Boll through the ice with that first big right hand, the ever impressive Boll then absorbs 3-4 power punches and comes on strong at the end almost landing another BizNasty knee-buckler. I'll give it to Erkskine and an 8 in a very close and very entertaining fight. These are two of my favorite players!!

Posted by mr hockey on April 02, 2011 at 10:18 AM

boll slight edge ,landed a few better

Posted by capitan crunch on April 01, 2011 at 11:49 AM

looks like boll got better punches landed

Posted by tocchetblue on April 01, 2011 at 06:02 AM

erskine is a real tough guy

Posted by holidaysintexas on April 01, 2011 at 10:56 AM

erskine loves to throw bombs...but none of them actually land. the win goes to boll for actually landing a few punches. decent scrap, though.

Posted by jnk07899 on April 01, 2011 at 04:59 PM

Boll with the win.

Posted by Snoka on March 31, 2011 at 10:14 PM

Edge to Erskine.

Posted by NHO3713 on April 01, 2011 at 11:29 AM

i could feel the power of those punches from here. wow. solid draw good fight

Posted by Big_Fat_Dan on April 01, 2011 at 07:10 AM

Johnny Erskine to powerful for Boll, Boll got some ok shots in but was always of balance. Win Erskine.

Posted by msn8ive on April 01, 2011 at 10:18 AM

I love Laughlin a Benenotti announcing games. They really know what they're doing. As for the fight, a lot of misses on both sides, but Erskine still manhandled him. Love seeing Johnny get after it.

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on February 27, 2015 at 02:02 AM

The difference in this fight: Boll swinging and missing, Erskine swinging and connecting.

Posted by chad420 on April 01, 2011 at 01:31 PM

Johnny is a bad MotiFo..prob the most underrated Heavy in the HHHEEEEEERRRRREESSSSSSS JOHHHNNNEEEEEEE

Posted by muskokadangler on March 31, 2011 at 09:36 PM

Looks like the boys are throwin them tonight!!! Big Johnny E with the win!!!!!!1

Posted by kkdowning on April 01, 2011 at 01:56 PM

Erskine certainly throws with bad intent (and Boll was not blowing kissses either) and gets the win. Boll's "take down" was defensive and does not warrant any win votes.

Posted by Langway on March 31, 2011 at 08:46 PM

Erskine with the edge in a great scrap. Huge blows thrown but not enough landed to do major damage.
