Give credit to Boll for hanging in there, but Barch controlled the fight from beginning to end.

Posted by Air Dump on October 12, 2008 at 01:55 AM

Ring around the rosie....jersey jab, jersey jab Crap fight

Posted by Sasky001 on October 11, 2008 at 08:41 PM

Have to call it a draw because Barch punched Boll a couple times while Crumbeen had Boll tied-up. Garbage fight between two garbage teams from garbage hockey cities.

Posted by creeperama on October 15, 2008 at 10:08 AM

not as good as the rating on this one. I would have given it to Barch if 3 guys didnt hop on top of Boll from the get go. Then Barch gets his best shots in right after the other 2 guys let go. Next I want to see a fair fight from the start.

Posted by SirYohans on October 11, 2008 at 09:07 AM

This was a very entertaining fight I thought. Props to Boll for just getting up and continuing this fight and making it what it is today. Boll also landed some big punches. This is a DRAW for me. I just can't bring myself to give Boll a loss after the effort he gave. @Glennzky - LOL. Seriously, they were jocking those jersey jabs a lil TOO hard. Then they miss/ignore a bomb that Boll landed at the :50 second mark. You Friggin' Knuckleheads!

Posted by billiam71 on October 11, 2008 at 10:33 AM

For everyone getting down on Boll, he is coming off a broken hand in the off season, he will be back with a healed hand this year!!!

Posted by Muscles on October 13, 2008 at 04:27 PM

Barch certainly controlled that fight. All jersey jabs and missed haymakers until the end when Barch landed a few solid blows.

Posted by Bigmurf8758 on October 11, 2008 at 10:04 AM

OK fight, Barch with the majority of the major punches, doesnt look like Boll's hand is quite at 100% as he didnt look willing to throw to many heavy punches. Im a Boll fan but the win goes to Barch

Posted by alesek1979 on October 10, 2008 at 11:55 PM

Fair fight. Give edge to Barch for being more active. ...still wish that one of them would try to switch up hands and connect some real punches, but I guess today's scrappers are too afraid to take one. ...btw, Barch's looks remind me of Ryan Vandenbussche; but thats as far it goes. Vandenbussche would kill Barch any day.

Posted by mAnYsTyLeS on October 14, 2008 at 04:28 PM

Very boring fight. Some people actually said it was the best fight they've seen in a while...LOL! Weird. Win goes to Krys Barch.

Posted by PolakMaly on October 12, 2008 at 11:16 PM

Why was this allowed to go on for so long???

Posted by staceyb on October 11, 2008 at 01:49 PM

This is the Cam Janssen effect on hockey fighting--stand away holding onto the guy's jersey, try to sneak in some left jabs, and then throw right hand bombs that usually miss or hit the guy's helmet. They ought to add two minutes each for delay of game. Ho-hum--c'mon, stand toe to toe and let 'em go!

Posted by epstein88 on October 11, 2008 at 10:05 PM

Barch early and late Boll didnt want to fight.

Posted by Andie041 on November 13, 2008 at 03:58 PM

Boll looked tired so Ill give it to Barch

Posted by chilly on October 11, 2008 at 10:54 AM

barch had him at the start and finish. good thing they had the intermission to rest up too

Posted by Juha82 on October 11, 2008 at 03:29 PM

Not so special fight here, long but mostly dull. Barch was enough sharp to getting NARRow win.

Posted by bruiser11 on October 11, 2008 at 02:07 PM

boll is only capable of pummelling people like ryan hollweg and stortini, he does hang in there and is very game though.

Posted by Stretcher on October 11, 2008 at 04:10 AM

It started with domination, later it evened up. Props to Boll for coming back

Posted by NYRangers30 on October 11, 2008 at 05:01 PM

very good scap gotta love barch with rabbit punches at the beginning and ended with the shot to the temple also gotta love the commentary they think there boxing commentators its great

Posted by glennzky on October 11, 2008 at 03:00 AM

Could Reaugh sound like a bigger retard by saying "sneaky lefts" constantly?! Doesn't he know that the word "jab" already applies? Glad I don't have to listen to his stupid comments too often.

Posted by jjerele on August 03, 2009 at 08:14 PM

Boll needs to stop this toe for toe fighting style and go back to the hard nosed BA he used to be...

Posted by slshbleed on October 11, 2008 at 04:20 PM

Barch wins with the stinky left.

Posted by suckerpunch on October 13, 2008 at 03:01 PM

Who are these fuking retarded announcers? Best fight since lockout? Hardly. This was mostly Jersey jabs and shots to the shoulder... A decent tilt, back and forth until that late right from Barch giving him the edge. Barch was more active, but I don't give much weight to those "sneaky lefts with the grab hand", What a joke. Go back to baseball commentary. ya dipschitt.

Posted by xcal1887 on October 15, 2008 at 01:33 PM

Good start, good finish. I went for a popcorn in the middle.

Posted by Wild_KO King on October 11, 2008 at 12:32 AM

I give it to Barch for being the aggressor, but wow quite the long tilt. I half expected see ring girls come out after they split up.

Posted by BooSanta on October 10, 2008 at 11:58 PM

Lots of goodies in this one. First, Barch throws some of the best jersey jabs I've seen. 2nd, the refs just let them go throwing haymakers for 2 1/2 minutes. 3rd, Barch eventually wears out Boll and lands some clean ones. Win to Barch. 4th, and best of all, the arena starts playing the fight training music we all remember when playing Mike Tyson's Punchout on our NES systems. Sounded like this version was played on an electric violin

Posted by mcdonald on October 11, 2008 at 01:57 AM

Barch was the aggressor, Boll was stunned too many times

Posted by b.t.wilson on October 13, 2008 at 03:28 PM

Was definitely a good fight. Barch had some nice shots. I don't know how anyone would call it a crap draw. But in my humble opinion, still nowhere in the league of the Tucker/Ruutu fight last year when it comes to great fights of recent memory.

Posted by Humper on October 11, 2008 at 11:05 AM

Barch wins in a decent fight where both showed great willingness and persaverance.

Posted by wildonefan on October 11, 2008 at 05:34 PM

Boll got some jersy jabs, but did no damage.looked like everything big he tried to throw missed. winner.. barch. good job to both guys for hanging in there for so long..

Posted by Tenzin on October 11, 2008 at 10:45 AM

Barch with the edge as he outlasts Boll.

Posted by Behn Wilson on October 11, 2008 at 09:43 AM

Great Fight. Props to Boll for hanging in there but Barch showed some serious fighter savvy throughout, and won decisively.

Posted by dukeofearle on October 11, 2008 at 06:02 PM

A couple really nice shots landed by Barch. That first left really caught him, along with the push to the ice, Boll was never really able to recover. That last bomb was because Boll wanted that fight ended 2 mins prior.

Posted by Ripper20 on November 14, 2008 at 12:30 PM

A sandwich fight with Barch winning the start and end and Boll taking the mid rounds. I think Barch staggered him with the last 2 big rights. Why does Boll wait so long to start throwing the offense. Nice use of the tie up left by Barch. Barch clearly wins this one.

Posted by Killah_punk on October 12, 2008 at 08:06 AM

Marathon bout here, surprised the linesman let them go that long.

Posted by dcmac on October 11, 2008 at 11:25 AM

Hats off to both players.

Posted by buddha on October 11, 2008 at 07:34 AM

A fun, long bout between two seasoned heavyweights. Each was throwing haymakers that weren't landing until the last round when Barch, with more stamina, landed two of them rocking Boll!

Posted by Crocosaur on October 11, 2008 at 02:50 PM

These two look like they're in midseason form, but I'll give this one to Barch.

Posted by WV16 on October 11, 2008 at 12:19 PM

great fight. i was in sect 101 right behind the fight. the opposite angle from the video posted. what you cant see is Boll tapping the linesman's arm to end the fight. i think the last two from Barch took it out of him

Posted by jasontjames on October 13, 2008 at 06:07 PM

What a great way to start the 2009 fight season. Now the Stars just need to figure out a way to get a win.

Posted by JETTA KNIGHT on October 12, 2008 at 10:14 PM

boll is tough, but he kept forgetting to punch!

Posted by Bear72 on October 11, 2008 at 05:44 PM

Good bout this is one I would have enjoyed in person Barch handled him though but it was a dandy

Posted by tattooedkingpin on October 11, 2008 at 08:03 PM

helluva fight. both landed some nice punches. barch landed more though.

Posted by jacketsfan11 on October 12, 2008 at 11:42 PM

Gotta give it to Barch. Good showing by Boll, though. Marathon fight.

Posted by brendonmorrow10 on October 18, 2008 at 02:34 PM

great fight by barch. those sneaky lefts r killers

Posted by HUTCH80 on January 04, 2009 at 11:45 PM

Barch had total control of fight, no question

Posted by shrk33 on October 14, 2008 at 04:31 AM

Best fight I've seen Barch in. Solid fight all around.

Posted by boxerlavean5 on October 22, 2008 at 03:33 PM

wow..long and great fight

Posted by Jellyczar on October 11, 2008 at 08:16 PM

very good fight and very close....edge to Barch.....saw a little too much of Peters fighting style from Boll.

Posted by ETR on October 12, 2008 at 11:19 AM

What a marathon! Barch with the edge for landing more especially early with the the shirt grab jabs...kudos to both guys though and to linesmen for letting it go that long. jellyczar, good call on the peters comparison, I was thinking the same thing watching the fight.....

Posted by DetroitIan on October 11, 2008 at 01:45 AM

Boll started to come on midway through. But Barch dominated him in the beginning and end of the fight. Gotta give it to Barch. No doubt about it.

Posted by tnaveler on October 12, 2008 at 02:00 PM

Barch all the way. Great fight, Boll got guts good effort

Posted by Bigford83 on October 11, 2008 at 03:59 PM

Marathon! Barch controlls this one, and shows that those jersey jabs, while not the most exciting method to watch, can work if properly executed.

Posted by simonfan1996 on October 14, 2008 at 10:31 PM

this fight lasted pretty long but it goes to barch for the sneaky lefts

Posted by JoeSchmo on February 27, 2009 at 08:43 PM

Way to hang in for Boll. Long, decent fight.

Posted by Ajax11 on October 11, 2008 at 01:29 PM

Great fight

Posted by blackgoldfan on October 11, 2008 at 12:33 PM

this was definetly fight of the night! if bolls hand was healthy this could have been that much more entertaining! barch with some huge rabbit punches and a couple of bombs to end it off!

Posted by Super Dave 1966 on October 11, 2008 at 12:53 PM

Barch has really set the bar high for Avery. That was a great fight !!!

Posted by pjfoster13 on October 15, 2008 at 05:00 AM

lol @ the sneaky left. Boll showed good heart to at least get some shots in and not get completely pummelled. Very good finish by Boll. We need more Krys Barches and fewer Andrew Peterses/George Parroses. lol @ punch-out!!! where on earth did they get that sound bite and who thought it would be a good idea to play it for 18,000 people?? I'm definitely in favor

Posted by IMTank on October 22, 2008 at 06:17 PM

Wow was that a long fight between two worthy opponents- best in a long long time.

Posted by robhockey82 on October 11, 2008 at 04:08 AM

Barch is the man. Great fight though, long tilt, better ones you will see.

Posted by Wensinkfan on October 11, 2008 at 12:52 PM

Great fight. Hats off to the guys in the stripes for letting them go. Barch got Boll good in the beginning with Boll coming back later. The knockout to me was the helmet coming off Boll after a shot to the side of the head. If Boll would of got going sooner it would have been closer. Nod to Barch all the way ; and the officials.

Posted by djaye on October 11, 2008 at 03:58 PM

Maybe fight of the year this early in the season?

Posted by Boogeybacker on October 11, 2008 at 07:41 AM

Really good fight, Barch with the edge. Barch is getting tuned up for a rematch with Carcillo Nov. 15th, cant wait for that one!!!!

Posted by saxydogg77 on October 12, 2008 at 03:22 AM

Tight "Mike Tyson Punch Out" tune at the end of the fight there

Posted by BattleAxe13 on October 12, 2008 at 12:12 AM

Great fight early in the season! Good job both guys but you gotta give this one to Barch. He dominated the beginning, Boll came back strong but then Barch took over again wailing on Boll a few times as the fight came to an end.

Posted by anc2514 on October 20, 2008 at 06:55 PM

Another one bites the dust. For skill, Krys Barch is hands down the BEST fighter in the league.

Posted by bltlord on December 19, 2008 at 08:31 PM

great bout by both but boll got rocked

Posted by eddieshore on February 09, 2009 at 12:36 AM

Boll should have stayed down after the first few punches. Nice fight.. Barch is your clear cut winner.

Posted by havens551 on July 23, 2009 at 01:47 AM

still looking back on the best fight of the year

Posted by HoboMaster on October 11, 2008 at 05:51 PM

Fantastic fight. Barch really put some good hits on Boll early, Boll started coming back in the middle, and Barch ended it with some solid hits. This might end up being the best fight of the season.

Posted by azjim on October 14, 2008 at 11:58 PM

Just because a fight lasts a long time doesn't make it a great fight. The total number of punches thrown was pretty low. I thought Barch caught Boll off balance with thos first jabs.

Posted by Lils27 on October 11, 2008 at 12:34 PM

While Barch easily gets the nod in this fight. Shouldn't he have gotten 3rd man in, as Boll was engaged with another player already and Barch came in from somewhere other then the immediate area. On the replay, he came flying in from the left side of the screen, well after the scrum started and went right after Boll and then proceeded to "cut" him from the pack and then lay a beat down. As he's pulling Boll from the pack, you can clearly see a Stars players hanging on to Boll's jersey.

Posted by piney on December 06, 2009 at 12:45 PM

Barch not close more spinning around than a washing machine

Posted by Jackets47 on October 11, 2008 at 07:46 AM

Gotta give this to Barch. Boll seemed to have tripped over some equipment before the scrap really got started, and while he did recover a bit and threw a few decent punches, it seemed like he wasn't in the position he would have wanted to really land the good ones. Meanwhile Barch was landing some pretty heavy shots, including that helmet-knocker toward the end. Good fight, but I would have liked to see less shoving into the glass from both of them, though.

Posted by kasparaitis6 on October 11, 2008 at 12:39 PM

both crombeen and barch want boll but barch gets em and they skate a lil to the side. barch starts of with a series of hard lefts one which knocks boll down but he gets up and the trade a bunch of punches. very long fight and its lookin like a draw but right near the end barch lands a right that gave him the win imo.. thank god for this fight tho, the rest from last night were disappointing

Posted by eadamson on October 12, 2008 at 02:10 PM

Definitely give credit to Boll for hanging in there, but Barch manhandled him. Some good shirt punches from both sides. Barch wins.

Posted by gryphon7878 on October 11, 2008 at 02:54 AM

Nod to Barch for sure.

Posted by bigdog2007 on October 12, 2008 at 07:46 PM

Boll couldnt reach him

Posted by goleafsgo12665 on October 24, 2008 at 11:09 PM

A nice long fight. Krys Barch comes out firing and Jared never really made a decent comeback. He made an attempt, but doesn't complete it.

Posted by BigBadBruins68 on March 10, 2009 at 03:09 PM

Great fight, Barch with the win.

Posted by Defence4Life on March 23, 2009 at 04:30 PM

Pretty good bout, nice to see the officials allowing it to play its course! I would say Barch gets the nod for this one.

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on February 25, 2015 at 06:14 AM

Barch destroyed Boll!!! Boll may have connected with 3 shots out of 20 thrown, while Barch landed about 30

Posted by chad420 on October 12, 2008 at 04:22 PM

good fight...bout time nhl produces in 08....lucic owned boll last year

Posted by Kappy2424 on March 08, 2009 at 11:39 PM

Nice fight, the linesmen should have been in there sooner but a great fight. Barch definitely gets the decision.

Posted by blackngold on October 11, 2008 at 11:38 AM

Best fight I've seen in the NHL since the lockout. Wow. Props to both these guys.

Posted by Cnshockey06 on October 12, 2008 at 09:31 PM

good fight but it would have been better if boll was cought up with one of the linesmen
