| Tucker and Avery have some words before the draw and jostle for position. The puck drops and Tucker immediately drop his gloves while Avery turns around and starts to skate away. Tucker skates after him and Avery ducks his head while Tucker asks him if they are fighting or not. Avery then turns around, drops his gloves, and grabs ahold of Tucker. Avery starts things off by connecting with an uppercut. Avery takes Tucker's helmet off and then throws a right cross that misses, allowing Tucker to throw a flurry of three rights that knock Avery's helmet off. Tucker switches hands and throws a left that Avery is able to counter with a right. They then go back and forth with rights until Tucker loses his balance and falls to the ice. The linesmen are quick to jump in and grab the two. They get back to their feet and exchange some more words before heading to their respective penalty box. | ||

| Right off of the faceoff Lapointe finds Stortini and challenges him. The two drop the gloves and grab ahold of each other near the side boards. Stortini quickly gets Lapointe's helmet off and they grapple for a bit. Lapointe connects with two short rights to the side of Stortini's helmet. Lapointe then gets Stortini bent over and throws four hard rights. Stortini comes back with two rights and an uppercut. They get in-tight and Lapointe throws three more short rights to the side of Stortini's head. Stortini unloads a flurry of four rights, an uppercut and two body shots while Lapointe tries to move away from the punches. Lapointe tries a locked-out right and then takes Stortini to the ice. The linesmen are right there to jump in and break things up. | ||

| Gratton takes a run at Murray near the benches and falls to the ice. Gratton gets back to his feet and shoves Murray just before the two grab ahold of each other and drop the gloves. They end up leaning on the San Jose bench with Gratton throwing a short right that hits the side of Murray's helmet. Murray wraps his left arm around the back of Gratton's head and then proceeds to throw five straight rights with a few of them connecting. Gratton lands a right towards the end of the flurry and they skate away from the boards. Gratton throws two overhand rights to the back of Murray's helmet. Murray gets turned around, but quickly reverses that position and takes Gratton's helmet off in the process. Gratton gets Murray's helmet off and they go back and forth with a couple of short rights while they grapple. Murray throws two more rights and Gratton responds with four rights to the back of Murray's head while Murray pushes Gratton into the boards. They continue to exchange overhand rights and body shots while leaning over the benches until the linesmen finally decide to intervene and the end the fight. Other Penalties: Gratton received a cross checking. | ||

| Cote and Janssen find each other near the side boards and drop the gloves. They skate out to center ice and square off. Cote grabs ahold of Janssen and connects with a left to the side of Janssen's helmet. They tie each other up and Cote throws a short left while Janssen shakes off his elbow pad. They then throw simultaneous punches: a right from Janssen connects flush, causing Cote's left to veer off to the side. Janssen throws an overhand right and they start going toe-to-toe with punches: Janssen staying with the right and Cote choosing the left. Cote switches hands and throws a right. Janssen throws two more rights just before Cote goes back to the left and they start going toe-to-toe once again. They stop throwing for a moment and Cote throws a right. Cote switches hands for the second time and they go toe-to-toe for the third time. Janssen throws a left that comes up short and they grapple for a moment. Janssen gets his right free and throws three rights with the last one connecting on a bent over Cote who is struggling to get his arm out of his jersey. The linesmen then quickly grab them and break things up. | ||

| Vincent Lecavalier buries Frantisek Kaberle into the boards, causing Tanabe and a few other 'Canes to go after him. O'Brien comes to Lecavalier's aide and shoves Tanabe to the ice. Tanabe gets back up and they drop the gloves, squaring off at center ice. They grab ahold of each other and wrestle for a bit. O'Brien throws two rights at the back of Tanabe's helmet while Tanabe tries to push O'Brien into the boards. Tanabe goes down to a knee, allowing O'Brien to take his helmet off. O'Brien then throws three rights to the back of Tanabe's head as well as getting in an uppercut. Tanabe falls to the ice and O'Brien quickly lets go just as the linesmen start to move in. | ||
