Comments: Tucker and Avery have some words before the draw and jostle for position. The puck drops and Tucker immediately drop his gloves while Avery turns around and starts to skate away. Tucker skates after him and Avery ducks his head while Tucker asks him if they are fighting or not. Avery then turns around, drops his gloves, and grabs ahold of Tucker. Avery starts things off by connecting with an uppercut. Avery takes Tucker's helmet off and then throws a right cross that misses, allowing Tucker to throw a flurry of three rights that knock Avery's helmet off. Tucker switches hands and throws a left that Avery is able to counter with a right. They then go back and forth with rights until Tucker loses his balance and falls to the ice. The linesmen are quick to jump in and grab the two. They get back to their feet and exchange some more words before heading to their respective penalty box.

I was at the game and they threw roughly the same amount of shots at eachother. Clearly, the best shot of the fight was thrown by Tucker...a nice square righthand to the grill of Avery. Unfortunately, it had little effect and (what you can't see on the video, thanks to McCabe) is Avery's roundhouse knocking Tucker over. I keep reading that Tucker "lost his balance." He did so as a result of Avery's fist pounding him in the side of the head. On my card Avery wins on points for the uppercut at the beginning of the fight, the knockdown, then for the effect of the fight on the fans and the team. If Tucker thought he'd put Avery in his place by dropping the gloves with him, he was completely wrong. So much so that Avery later completes a Gordie Howe hatter and the end result is a complete KO of the Leafs.

The Canadian TSN-Feed shows that Tucker was DROPPED with a right-hand, by Avery...

Clear win for Avery... It was all over ESPN as well as TSN.ca that Avery not only had 2 goals and an assist, leading the Rangers to victory, but also DROPPED DARCY TUCKER WITH A RIGHT HAND!

The folks at MSG last night were also saying it was a clear knock-down, at the end of the scrap...

Avery by a take-down. Nice to see these two fight each other. Clean up the gene pool a little.

Sure Tucker really pounded him?????? Sounds like some angry Leaf fans that realized they got a butt whipping in there most important game of the season. Avery got up and laughed at Tucker after the fight and then continued to trash talk every leaf in sight including tucker. Tucker wouldn't even look at Avery the rest of the game even after Avery smashed him a couple times. Then avery called him out after the game saying Tucker is a b****. As for the person who said avery had a mark on his head. It was a pimple that he himself made fun of in his postgame interview on MSG.

A great show from both agitators.
A solid DRAW in my paper.
Tucker landed one heavy right flush to the mark.
Avery figths still enough well for the draw.

This one's too hard to call. Avery got in the first bomb. Tucker got in three bombs, and seemed to be getting more punches in, then McCabe got in the way. THe last I saw, Tucker went down pretty hard. I liked the fight. Whoever said these guys are nancyboys is retarded; they put on a good fight.

I called it a draw. This clip doesn't show you much (thanks McCabe!) leading to Avery landing on top. What it does show has Tucker landing a couple more, but to little effect.

Tucker wasn't knocked down by that last punch, he was already falling. I didn't see Avery connect near as well so he loses, Tucker wins.

I have to call it a draw. Tucker threw the best punch, but Avery was in control at the end. No real damage was done. Two antagonizers who everybody hates.
