Two of the best "huggers" in the league....yawn!!!!

Posted by lowbrow78 on February 04, 2010 at 04:57 AM

Was a punch even landed?

Posted by ahartnack on February 04, 2010 at 09:08 AM

' WOW!!!!!! Stortini hurt his hand hitting nothing but air. '

Posted by Canadiens100 on February 04, 2010 at 08:27 AM

Draw. Why does storlinguini keep "trying" to fight? The only thing storini could dust of is a good plate of mama's pasta. What's this with the I'm gonna punch you then hold back, he did this three times. And what's with the my fist really hurts show at the end while he was skating to the penalty box? Is he guido guida's twin brother?

Cracks me up how Stortini is shakin' his hand like he just dropped a bomb on somebody. Please...

Posted by omorales on February 04, 2010 at 07:37 AM

somebody won this? how???

Posted by GCBC00 on February 06, 2010 at 01:09 PM

OK scrap here. Nothing to write home about, though. Two willing fighters who both landed a couple but none with any damage. We all know these two's past and what their capable of, therefore, a disapointing fight. You have to like how Lappy went straight for Storweenie. Both seemed a bit tired due to this fight being at the end of a shift. Now, if this fight happens earlier in the shift, it could be an entertaining fight. DRAW

Posted by RockintheRed on February 04, 2010 at 09:02 AM

The best part of the fight was the very beginning where they were both equally landing. After that it was a hug fest with alternating shots to the top of the helmet. No winner here.

i love how laperriere turned around and just went back towards stortini skating in towards him. i have grown to love stortini, i don't know why, just the heart he plays with i guess. reminds me of the mighty kelly buchberger, now that guy knew how to start a fight and end it in all kinds of pain. personally, going with a draw on this one, and a 4. so much promise at the start for these two...

Posted by tattooedkingpin on February 04, 2010 at 04:17 AM

thats as close to a Draw as it gets. i love the little punch Stortini gets in on Lappy at the very end

Posted by crosscheck52 on February 04, 2010 at 06:47 AM

Gotta go with a draw.

Posted by shrk33 on February 04, 2010 at 12:11 PM

Lapdance actually has a decent performance for a change... RETIRE ON A HIGH NOTE!!!!!! deerawwwww

Posted by Towmater on February 04, 2010 at 01:09 AM

Draw, I was there and saw it, definite draw

Posted by Rockhound6165 on February 13, 2010 at 11:13 AM

Draw. Neither can fight. Come to think of it, no one can fight anymore. I've never seen so pussy fighters in the NHL as they are these days. What is this leaning your head away so you don't get hit. Get in there and bang away!

Posted by kronvallizer78 on February 04, 2010 at 12:43 PM

draw in this one neither lappy nor storts landed where they are supposed to do. nothin but helmet shots

Posted by swass on February 03, 2010 at 11:04 PM

Both got good shots in at the start of the fight. Wonder if Stortini would have thrown more if he hadn't put the first big punch off Lap's helmet...

Posted by BigRob1 on February 03, 2010 at 11:01 PM

Why is huggy bear shaking his hand like he landed 5 straight punches to the head? Landed nothing!

Posted by Spanky_Jazz on February 05, 2010 at 02:40 AM

Posted by Blueliner on February 06, 2010 at 12:02 AM

Stortini: Threw a couple good hits, took a couple too...extra points for not doing his hugging routine. Laperriere: Dished out a couple more hits than Stortini, looked more in control. Edge: Laperriere...but seriously, Stortini's fights are better these days. Good for him.

Posted by Truk on February 04, 2010 at 02:40 PM

I gave it to Lappy. I think Zack hit his helmet with the first one or two and obviously hurt his hand. I bet it's hard to want to throw another one after catching the sharp corner of a helmet once or twice with punch-out force. I think Lappy and the refs knew this hence the early looking break-up. Lappy is still a tough guy and that's why he's in the league doing what he does at 35. Most enforcers can only hope their career lasts that long.

Posted by pepsigenerate on February 04, 2010 at 11:17 AM

giving it to laperriere, stortwennie trying to hug the referree in th end.

Posted by CBarnes on February 03, 2010 at 11:25 PM

Lappy popped storts with two good stingers so he gets the win

Posted by 5fourfighten on February 04, 2010 at 12:44 PM

Not much of a fight. Truthfully no one deserves to be called a winner in this fight. But I'll give Ian the win by landing the one and only clean shot. Poor performance by two guys who make their living dropping the gloves

Posted by EDDUBBS on February 04, 2010 at 10:54 AM

Laperriere gets the edge and especially since that big f*cking idiot Stork is so much bigger and a terrible fighter.

Posted by Behn Wilson on February 04, 2010 at 11:28 AM

Come on.. did anyone really expect anything more than an excessive hugging incident? The best part, was the two of them finding each other. Slight edge to Laperriere, for having a better start, before the tenderness set in.

Posted by Riomouse911 on February 04, 2010 at 12:21 AM

Sorepeenie loses a 10-9 descision to a guy 10 years older, 4 inches shorter and 35 pounds lighter than he is...and all he has to show for it are sore knucks from maybe one punch that glanced off plastic... ouch.

Posted by jdue722 on February 04, 2010 at 04:55 AM

same ol' same ol'

Posted by staceyb on February 04, 2010 at 08:24 PM

What's with Stortini's knuckles? Laperriere with the early surge holds on for the W. Lousy outcome to the game, however. What a heartbreaker for the Flyers.

Posted by bruins rule on February 03, 2010 at 11:07 PM

ian gets the slight edge in this fight.

Posted by Mug Jitsu on February 03, 2010 at 10:51 PM

You're an idiot bruiseyoureye. It's people like you that ruin this site. Vote fo who actually wins not the guy on your team. Stortini does not land one punch. He only throws one that misses. Lappy landed 2 straight rights at the beginning of that fight.

Posted by Velds on February 04, 2010 at 09:27 PM

Amazing!!!! Stort didn't hug!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by cory411 on February 04, 2010 at 02:10 PM

Stortini held on.... LOL Ian went after Stortini because he knew thats the only people Stortini fights is Vets who are samller in size... Ian still landed a heavy shot to his face hahahaa... Stortini you still get beat by little players who are twice your age!!!!! Quit hockey please,.... I best part is when Stortini skates away and he howls into the sky why hold his fist like it hurt.. HAHAH how can it hurt when u did't hit anything with it!!!... FCUKN JOKE!!!! WHAT AN A$$ CLOWN

Posted by knucklehead7272 on February 06, 2010 at 02:46 PM

advice to Stortini...next time PACK A LUNCH!

Posted by acd1 on February 04, 2010 at 03:52 AM

Lappy landed the only punches, so he gets the win. Why was Stortini shaking his hand? Did he hurt it hugging Lappy to death?

Posted by ThrowdownSJ408 on February 04, 2010 at 02:17 AM

Seriously why is stortini such a bad fight, he fights often and is pretty good size. lose the hair. Lappy with the close win in this.

Posted by vangodard28 on February 04, 2010 at 04:53 PM

the only punch stortini landed was the cheap shot at the end... lappy deffinatly had the edge in this one.

Posted by bruiseyoureye on February 03, 2010 at 10:34 PM

stortini destroyed the flyer that gives other men (LAP) dances.

Posted by Spinner55 on February 04, 2010 at 10:09 AM

Win, lose, or draw, each Oiler has to step up to the plate and contribute what they can to regaining a degree of respectability in the NHL. Stortini has not been an active participant in recent games. He needs to be feisty and willing to step up for team mates.

Posted by metz87 on February 03, 2010 at 10:44 PM

All Stortini fights end wth the huggy bear. Fight started good and juus died. Have to give the win to Stortini though.

Posted by djh700 on February 04, 2010 at 09:55 AM

How did Stortnini hurt his hand hugging someone? The guy is always shaking his hand out like he actualy hit something.

Posted by BritishRedWing on February 04, 2010 at 09:50 PM

Pretty boring fight-draw.

Posted by chad420 on February 06, 2010 at 11:32 AM

edge lappy

Posted by kah134 on February 04, 2010 at 11:47 AM

for 6'4" 220 or whatever he is, stortini sure doesnt like to fight as a heavy weight. surprised to see him throw a punch in this one instead of trying to win a wrestling match. cant even win a scrap as an over-sized middleweight. couple games ago in colorado with koci(who also sucks at life) on the ice, stortini makes a beeline to mcleod instead so he wouldnt have to drop em with koci. worst heavyweight in the history of hockey!!!!!

Posted by tomales2 on February 05, 2010 at 10:23 AM

For whatever reason a lot of you don't care for Laperriere but man the guy is fearless. Not the best of fighters for sure, but I'd take him on my team anytime. Lappy ekes out a win, though I can easily see votes for a draw.

Posted by HerbRaglan on February 04, 2010 at 12:10 AM

lappy won this, don't know why stortini didn't overpower him...

Posted by samtheman on February 04, 2010 at 07:40 AM

Very slight edge to Laperriere. What's with the refs being so eager to break this one up? They were grabbing a the player's jerseys while they were still throwing.
