A shot to the temple = no fight. We'll have to wait until the next time they meet. Nuthin here.

Win McGrattan. He really dropped the hammer on that oversized clown, Boogaard. He's such a terrible giant.

Posted by mcb789 on December 11, 2009 at 11:12 PM

the big freak of nature boogaard loses another fight. mcgrattan smack boogaard around pretty good in this fight. THE BIG WIN for mcgrattan.

Posted by BooSanta on December 14, 2009 at 09:45 PM

Take a seat Grats you ain't ready for Boogey. hope you're stayin clean. I didn't see if Grats was swatting away those annoying vegans going after his ear.

KO Boogaard

Posted by blkjak on December 12, 2009 at 12:08 AM

Looks like Grats is off the Wagon...too bad, he looks so disinterested lately

Posted by preciselyfun on December 12, 2009 at 12:11 PM

For all of you ball-cupping fools who spoon pillows with thoughts of Boogaard I ask you this - how does this 'idgit' fair against Eric Godard? Hmm....

Posted by pepsigenerate on December 11, 2009 at 11:42 PM

not enough to display results, decide on who aggressively went for the attack first "i guess"...McGrattan somehow trips, and Boogaard didn,t look good either.

Posted by tomdetroit on December 14, 2009 at 03:43 PM

Booger wins. Too bad McGratten couldn't stay on his feet and make this a better fight, not that it would have turned out different.

Posted by Jabberwok on December 14, 2009 at 10:30 AM

McGrattan has always been a Glassjaw Joe-type of fighter, this just exemplifies it. I would like to see Boogaard go up against Chara. Then he'd learn what a fight is.

Posted by shrk33 on December 12, 2009 at 04:50 PM

Was hoping for a better and longer bout between these two, didn't happen. Win Boogey Man.

Posted by Sportsdiamond on December 15, 2009 at 10:01 PM

The Boogie Man Knocks him dead again!

Posted by kevinator63 on December 12, 2009 at 03:07 PM

the refs should have let them go again.

Posted by rexleking on January 09, 2010 at 01:26 PM

Boring from start to finish Nilan would handle the two of them in one period back to back :-)

Posted by scorp1on on December 12, 2009 at 04:13 PM

McGrattan either picks the wrong grip or Boogie overpowers him... either way his face is sitting out there like the broad side of a barn and Boogaard tags him. He concedes by remaining down.

Posted by digitalroc on December 13, 2009 at 04:23 PM

Win to Boogaard, but pretty classless when Boogaard continues to throw em while McGrattan was down. I'm sure McGrattan wants a rematch, will have to wait until January 6th for that to occur.

Posted by bruiseyoureye on December 12, 2009 at 05:48 PM

mcgrattan sucks..........nobody beats boogaard....he is the #1 in the league.......actually mcgrattan thinks hes tough...but hes really a washed up scrub alcoholic cocaine sniffing stiff.

Posted by GSP09 on December 13, 2009 at 05:09 PM

Boogaard hits him on the ear and rocks Big Mac but he should have stop after McGrat hit the ice , cheap shots by the boogerman.

Posted by rangers16 on December 12, 2009 at 12:14 AM

not much of a fight, not even going to call that a knock out. looks like boogard hit mcgrattans helmet on that last straight that sent him down

Posted by Mcgyvr on December 12, 2009 at 11:30 AM

Dull fight. If you're gonna fight, give a damn about how it turns out. McGratton seems to always fall over.

Posted by dphilip79 on December 12, 2009 at 02:54 AM

Boogaard gets the decision...but i hardly call it a VICTORY. McGrattan gets hit in the side of the head and trips. Boogaard did not want him to get back up that's for sure....kept punching McGrattan in the back of the head...real cheap!!! A lot of guys in the league with tonnes more honor than BOOgaard would have let Mcgrattan back up to fight some more!! Can't wait for the rematch!!!

Posted by DARCY T on December 28, 2009 at 09:36 AM

how come this fight is rated so high?

Posted by visorless on December 11, 2009 at 11:09 PM

Nice to see the Boogeyman fighting again. Hard one for Mcgratts, but he'll want revenge. Can't wait for the rematch.

Posted by tattooedkingpin on December 12, 2009 at 01:35 AM

Damn, that was quick. McGrattan got tagged. W Booger

Posted by Towmater on December 12, 2009 at 12:34 AM

Wow, I read the comments on here first and expected an epic beat down by Boo., then I actually watched the fight and saw one good punch and then the linesmen step in.

Posted by hal29 on December 13, 2009 at 12:59 PM

i wouldn't say boogard is the most feared fighter seeing he has only been in four fights this year. he isn't doing a whole lot of fighting and hasn't been over dominate. That was a pretty late it by boogy, puck wasn't even near the player so i give mcgrattan credit for standing up for his teammate but this was a lame and boring fight. win boogy. dmsiii...quick question for ya? yes boogy won the fight that is clear but i still don't know what your watching, where did mcgrattan have bllod all over his face? your over dramatic on this fight, we all know boogy won, no need to make up stuff about mcgrat bleeding, thats just plain stupid dude!!

Posted by Davids on December 12, 2009 at 09:33 AM

Whoever voted for McGrattan must've forgotten to take his medication.Boogie with the clear win.Does anyone wonder how Rick Rypien would do against Boogaard?? I sure do,especially after Rypien schooled Valabik, not that Valabik is anywhere near Boogaard, but it would be interesting to see what would happen.

Posted by The Peach on December 13, 2009 at 10:05 PM

boogard makes it look easy. he has finally reached the point of domination. he is the heavyweight beast of the NHL, no doubt. just a matter of who can beat him at this point. the most serious challenge would be scott parker, but he's out of the game. maybe godard can give him an even scrap.

Posted by tyrone on December 12, 2009 at 01:09 AM

TKO.................Boogy is undefeated. Knocked big mac down. Now here this........if anyone else votes different, you are a fukcing moron. Did you see the linesman ask big mac if he knew where he was? Mac thought he was at Disney World. Boogie is #3 right now. He will move up to #2 if huggie Bear decides to go, whcih he won't. Boogie will be #1 if he beats Tigers cousin BGL.

Posted by phatslover on December 13, 2009 at 02:58 PM

McGrattan woke up in the morning thinking he's still playing for the Sens or was that the Coyotes. As for the remark someone made about him slipping, sure I can see him slipping after his knees buckled from the last punch to the side of the head. Big win for the Boogie Man

Posted by Bad Dawg on December 13, 2009 at 11:26 AM

McGrattan was stunned, more then normal. Looked like he s#$% his pants when he was escorted to the box. No contest! Boogey all the way

Posted by Lucy Brown on December 12, 2009 at 11:09 AM

Not saying he wouldnt have gone down anyway but this was a clear ear shot. My buddy ended up in the ER with his ear drum blown out by a slap to the ear by a two year old. Not to hard to knock somebody down with a punch to the ear.

Posted by umaksgx on December 12, 2009 at 01:14 PM

Boo won, but he's junk, cause good fighter never nit opponent who's down. Foo..

Posted by BattleAxe13 on December 13, 2009 at 03:37 PM

TKO Boogaard but respect factor dropped as he wailed on a barely conscience opponent. Learn to respect the code, Boogey will get his later, Laraque and Godard seem to handle the giant pretty well.

Posted by Dampland on December 12, 2009 at 09:30 PM

Boogaard dominated.

Wow! TKO by Boogaard. McGrattan looked like he didn't know where in the hell he was. He looked like he was in never never land, which isn't exactly the first time for him, both on the ice or off. Boogaard's a freakin killer though. That guy has to be the most dangerous puncher in the league. McGrattan's no little guy and is pretty tough in his own right but he was shit kicked by Boogie in this fight and looked like a dazed little bitch in comparison. Boogie is one dangerous dude so full marks to him.

Posted by staceyb on December 12, 2009 at 08:50 PM

At least McGrattan showed up for the dance. After that it was all Boogaard.

Posted by MonkeyQuatro on December 12, 2009 at 10:43 PM

Boogard with a cheap shot...then McGrattan didn't put up much of a fight. Definition of a cheap shot: Waiting for a guy to be in his most vulnerable position and then going high on him. Not the head down shot, but the coming around the net and already having passed or shot the puck. The NHL needs to penalize with the length of time the injured player goes down, not just a few games. There really is a way to stop the cheap shots...and it starts with the guys who are brought up for a game or two and are trying to make their name at the highest level. No responses necessary...just tired of the players limping off the ice. Not fun to watch Malkin give a cheap shot 5 seconds after the whistle has blown and no penalty called...

Posted by Truk on December 12, 2009 at 04:59 PM

Boogey Domination. McGrattan will have to do much better than that to be the Western champ. That hit on Prust looked like a Phaneuf one almost. Carcillo would have smoked Gratts as he looked at the bench. Boogey opened right up perhaps trying to keep his job from big Scott.

Posted by plubber on December 16, 2009 at 09:42 PM

How long has it been since McGrattan won one? No question here.

Posted by EastKing on December 13, 2009 at 04:26 PM

Wow! That punch by Booguard had McGrattan stunned.

Posted by The Foil on December 12, 2009 at 01:46 AM

Posted by zenderon on December 12, 2009 at 07:16 PM

Boogaard landed a nice jab, put him down witht he right and only hit him twice after McGrattan ducked and covered at the end. Easy win

Posted by dmsiii on December 12, 2009 at 03:21 AM

Easy win Boogard! Since when did McGrattan "trip"? Was that how he got the blood on his face?

Posted by C-7Enforcer on December 20, 2009 at 04:52 PM

Maybe McGrattan needs more beatings like this so he won't raise his hands in the air after a fight like a dumbass!!!

Posted by JayMiller29 on December 12, 2009 at 04:04 AM

Boogaard wins it. Tough luck for Brian, but gotta love guys that think defence as an afterthought and just go for it. Boogaard is looking real good this year.

Posted by peeks on December 13, 2009 at 11:02 AM

Umm....if you can't tell this is a knockdown, then you need some DENIAL counseling! Either that or some more education about hockey fights. Boogaard with the the win. Easy Win! Hey preciselyfun....did you mention Godard? Sure, Booogy is 3-1 against him. ONE fricken fight Godard smoked Derek, but that wasn't until the very end, the rest of that fight was still controlled by DB. We are all human and shit happens...but he WILL ALWAYS be 3-1 against live with it. Until the next fight anyway, then he will be 4-1. Suck it up!

Second big right by the Boogie Man wobbles McGrattan's head and sends him to the ice. Whatever homer voted McGrattan is only embarrassing him or herself by showing their total stupidity.......

Posted by bruins rule on December 11, 2009 at 11:24 PM

boogaard gets the win in this fight.

Posted by Hendo67 on December 12, 2009 at 03:30 PM

Power, Power, Power...You can tell that Boog's has heavy hands because that punch wasn't full power at all...It's scary, though...Being 6'7'' 255 is a good trait. Easy TKO for the Boogyman here.

Posted by rowbearprobear on December 12, 2009 at 11:37 AM

boogie will go down soon (mark my words) mcgrattan looked horribe! still not recovered from the orr slaughter boogie with a nice win here mcgrattan almost looked out of it even before he even threw a punch mcgrattan needs to throw early (and often) to stand a chance against a freak like boogie

Posted by drjones on December 12, 2009 at 04:15 AM

Boogieman for the tko. Oh yeah, McGrattan slipped on mcb's banana. What an ass clown. mcb, keep on posting as it always entertaining.

Posted by Jellyczar on December 12, 2009 at 09:01 PM

Boogaard with a HUGE win....

Posted by millwright1966 on December 14, 2009 at 02:30 PM

Posted by allienmort on December 11, 2009 at 10:30 PM

McGratten - Is it still Friday??? Why are all those stars spinnin' round my head?? Bomb into the earhole sends him to the ice. One of the quicker fights I've seen. Absolute win for the Boogeyman.

Posted by Muggsy on December 13, 2009 at 01:56 AM

The Calgary announcer mentions that McGratton may want another "go round" with Boogey. I don't think that's necessarily true.

Posted by BigFistRocco on December 22, 2009 at 04:26 AM

McGrattan, McGrattan, McGrattan what the he11 were you thinking. The hit was clean, you should have slapped Prust for skating with his head down.

Posted by Jmoy on December 11, 2009 at 11:59 PM

Very impressive one shot knockdown by Boogs. Also as impressive was that he was at the end of a long shift and was already pretty tired. If the fight had lasted he would have been in trouble to McGrattan but the big shot was all that was needed. really? People have voted for McGrattan? Come on homers, get real. He lost the fight and the Flames lost the game.

Posted by zonahockeyfan on December 14, 2009 at 09:03 PM

not the best fight, but Boo win, not too many players lining up to fight him, he's a monster, his reach reminds of Chara's fights.

Posted by dino-saur on December 12, 2009 at 11:52 PM

Scary dude. Total domination by the Big Green Booger. TKO. Two rights - the second in the ear had him crawling around like a toddler in McDonald's Playland. The only guy who can match up with Boogie is John Scott - and both on the same team.

Posted by Radar13 on December 12, 2009 at 09:41 AM

Boogard hits McGrattan on the bucket and drops him. No question that was a knockdown. Funny how the Calgary announcers can't find anything to say about the fight.

Posted by Togalthorpe on December 12, 2009 at 05:39 AM

mcb789 I don't know what fight you were watching, but Boogey was clearly in control and throws punches, which ultimately sends McGrattan to the ice. TKO Boogaard. Ps stop commenting on these fights ya douche

Some people never learn...McGratten getting it handed to him again by the BoogyMan. Lost, and he asked for it! Silly man.

Posted by jabuyer2 on December 14, 2009 at 04:49 PM

Boogey is the best fighter in the league. Jabs McGratten with is left to get his attention and drops him with a right. The check was great too!

Posted by bradybigboy on December 11, 2009 at 11:21 PM

poor mcgratton. should have stayed in rehab after that performance! boogy is top 3 in the league for sure.

Posted by EDDUBBS on December 12, 2009 at 10:17 AM

The Knockout punch was right on the jawbone area and McGrattan was visibly woozy. Give credit to McGrattan for turning things around this season.

Posted by bigdog2007 on December 13, 2009 at 01:21 PM

Boogaard is a punk bitch for hitting not once but twice after he drops Grats. Clear win for the PunkbItchman.

Posted by gmr133 on December 12, 2009 at 11:34 AM

You people need to get a life. How is this fight rated a 5 or 6??? There were two punches , only one of which was decent. Nobody got knocked out. Nobody got cut open. Just because Boogard has a name that makes it easy to give him a cutesy/scary-sounding nickname, doesn't make him the most feard fighter in the league. The guy has fought four lousy times. He can barely skate. He can't play hockey. What a waste of time.

Posted by azjim on December 13, 2009 at 11:31 PM

Whoever voted McGrattan was wrong, but whoever yammers on about how great Boogaard is might just mention his cheap shots after McGrattan is down.

Posted by Dijo on December 12, 2009 at 01:23 PM

Boogaard won this easy, but I'm surprised that no one on here has mentioned anything about those last 2 punches that were thrown by Boogaard when McGrattan was down. There was no need for that. Pretty cheap.

Posted by Oil Can Henry on December 12, 2009 at 01:16 AM

Nice hit by Boogaard, then took-care of McGrattan, easily. The punch that put him down definitely hurt - close to calling this a TKO.

Posted by perezj on December 12, 2009 at 07:56 AM

Boogard is a tool, dirty hit on Prust, whch he should have been called for interference. The he hits McGrattan when hes down? Class act. I am not impressed he outwegihs everyone by 50 lbs and is 6`8, he should be winning all of his fights...

Posted by tomales2 on December 12, 2009 at 02:34 AM

"Could be a draw." Puleeese!!! Easy Boogey win

Posted by muskokadangler on December 12, 2009 at 11:31 AM

Posted by PuckmaninMN on December 12, 2009 at 11:59 AM

McGratton seemed to not want to fight after moving in to avenge the hit on Prust. I think McG is a great fighter overall, but he just didn't seem to be in this one at all. Boogeyman with easy win.

Posted by mike hartman on December 14, 2009 at 11:12 AM

Boogard is so damn big and strong his punches looked like slow motion, but man McGratton looked pretty woozy afterward. I think the secong one caught him in the upper chin, and almos ko'd him. Damn that dudes tough.

Posted by GinoOdjick on December 12, 2009 at 02:22 PM

Love watching any member of the Flamers get beat. Boogaards one of the best heavyweights in the league for sure. Hopefully him and Hordichuk go at it tonight.

boogieman drops gratts....he didnt even want 2 drop em

Posted by tim daddy on December 12, 2009 at 11:06 PM

a tko by boogard, look at McGrattons eyes after this fight , and see if you think its a "slip" and godard suck-ups by the way one win since juniors is not domination its a fluke.

Posted by claire alexande on December 15, 2009 at 04:28 PM

Boogaard obviously wins--McGrattan landed nothing--but this was not the annihilation the Boogaardboners seem to see. Hitting a guy when he's down is pretty classless. Didn't see anything wrong with the hit on Prust. If Boogaard deigned to fight Rypien, the little capuke would be seriously injured.

Posted by ImDan11 on December 13, 2009 at 01:37 AM

he even snapped a guys stick with that hit. wish the players would stop being prima-donnas and take a hit. this shit's gotta stop. who ever voted for mcgratton, you should not even be on this website you are fucking this game up.

Posted by goody72 on December 12, 2009 at 02:01 AM

Boogaard gets the win on the slip/takedown. Both look like they land a shot but Boogaard gets the win since McGrattan went down. Could be a Draw. Would like a do over.

Posted by thunderfist on December 12, 2009 at 12:36 PM

Give credit to McGrattan for stepping up but Boogeyman throws anvils. TKO!

Posted by Richterfan on December 12, 2009 at 10:53 AM

Boogaard hits Prust (remember last year folks) with a physically clean hit that may have been interpreted by McGrattan as late. After some coaxing, Boogie drops the gloves and then drops McGrattan with two big right hands with the last one landing flush on McGrattan's ear!! It probably is still ringing. Big win Boogaard! Is there any other heavyweight out there that throws more vicious checks than Boogaard? You have got to be aware when he on the ice. A true asset to the Wild.

Oh man....McG needs some medicine. Boogaard with an easy win as McG assumed the turtle position.

Down goes McGrattan!! Down goes McGrattan!!! I'd like to see how many flamers try and give him the win in this one! HAHAHA

The Boogeyman continues his run through the top heavies in the league, wasting McGrattan here. I'd like to see him go with Orr, Godard, Brash, BGL, and Big Mac before the year's over, although I doubt he'll have that many fights.

Jmoy, you're dreaming if you think a longer fight would mean McGratton might have won. McGrats ought to have learned the lesson of not challenging after a clean hit, or at least not challenging Boogie. Loved the way coach Richards gets it and suited the big man up for the Flames "because they're rough" or something like that. Too bad Boogie didn't catch Pfanhoef with one of those checks too.

I agree, great fight for Boogaard! I'd stay out'a that man's way!

go on youtube to see the fights between boogey and Georges Laraque, they are the best 2 on the game right now even thought Laraques getting old and is always injured, but nobody wants to go toe to toe with him u cant deny that

I don't think Boogey likes McGratten. Not at all.

Posted by BoogeyRocks on December 14, 2009 at 03:21 PM

Total domination. I really doubt McGratten wants another go round. BTW the initial hit wasn't a cheap shot. They teach you in PeeWee's to keep your head up. The Calgary announcers even said it was a good hit to the chest - not the head... Boogey is a beast!

Boogey pancaked Prust, Grats challenges him, they drop the gloves. Boogaard lands a huge right and Grats goes down. TKO Win for Boogaard

Posted by millerdvr on December 11, 2009 at 10:28 PM

Boogaard still the most feared HW in the league, no doubt about it and the proof is in the pudding(the pudding is the mashed heads of his two opponents this year)
