McGratton, simply, punches straight through Rosehill, on his way to an absolute demolition of the, tragically outgunned, Leaf. Once again... Leaf Nation... his name is Kyle Neuber... he's already in your system... stop the carnage. And this, is from a Wings fan, whose team hasn't known true toughness in over a decade, and, by the looks of things...sigh...never will again..

Posted by Clark75 on November 20, 2011 at 11:03 AM

Congrats McGratts on hitting only helmet (hence the knuckles). People keep saying that Rosehill must have some kind of indestructable material in his face. Well you have to hit someone in the face to cause any damage. Rosehill didn't have a scratch on him because he wansn't hit. McGrattan's bloody knuckles are from Rosehill's helmet, not his face. Figure it out people! Rosey looked like he had the better shots connecting in this fight. Wish someone would put up the Leafs TV feed for once. No need for a celebration when your up 3-1. Too bad Orr wasn't in to give him another healthy dose of whoop ass! Not even close to fight of the year people. Not one of his punches connected with Rosey.

when McSorley says this fight was a draw i go with him..sure lots of punches thrown but hardly any landed i thought rosehill landed 2 of the best shots like marty says and who would know better

Posted by The Mob on November 18, 2011 at 10:25 PM

Good show Grats but the bloody knuckles say it all. Nothing of any significance was landed - wasted energy - all for show - DRAW

Posted by Detroit_Caps on November 18, 2011 at 06:30 AM

great bout Landing more without having significant affect does not constitute a win. . .nor does only staying standing despite the home ice announcers and theatrics I say draw

Posted by soupyfly on November 18, 2011 at 01:09 AM

WOW Could very well be the fight of the year..Well Done Boyz..

Posted by leeban on November 24, 2011 at 03:57 PM

Rosie shouldnt be fighting Mcgratton while Orr watches from the press box. Should have been Orr in this one, but either way Rosie gets pummeld give him credit he stayed on his skates the guys head is made of rocks. Orr should have been in this one, Rosie is a good middle weight shouldnt be taking on the heavy's Domination Mcgratton

Posted by pepsigenerate on November 18, 2011 at 03:17 AM

McGrattan with the win, alot of punches thrown but not much connected neither from both,'but good show'.

Posted by PghBri on November 18, 2011 at 10:16 AM

@ "filthynumber1" .. I was going to unsult you, but just looking at your response and how it was typed. I think it's insult enough.

I really don't care for Rosehill's antics; nice to see McGrattan back in the bigs. Would love to see McGrattan pound the tar out of Chrissy Neil!!!

Posted by leafsfan17 on November 18, 2011 at 03:05 PM

well being a leafs fan i would have liked to have seen grats get bloodied up like last year when orr give him a beating. have to give credit where it is do grats started throwing and never stopped, think the majority hit jay's helmet by the look of his hands, props to jay for going toe to toe with a heavy weight, hope orr gets into some games before he gets too rusty

How scared are those linesmen. "excuse me, excuse me, Brian"

Posted by blazers76 on November 18, 2011 at 07:35 AM

Great showing by Gratts. Rosehill did a good job to stand in there but had no shot. Where is Orr?

Posted by pistole pete on April 24, 2012 at 02:34 PM

Rosehill ate many decent face shots by McGratten.

Posted by apollo13jim on November 18, 2011 at 10:45 AM

Really good one.

Posted by staceyb on November 18, 2011 at 06:45 AM

Wow--Gratz just drilled Rosie with rights relentlessly. "Whaddya' say, JayRo, let's give the crowd a show" and off they went. Of course I will be restless in anticipation of the Smithson-Crabb bout that never materialized. (-:

Posted by Joceron on November 18, 2011 at 04:12 AM

Well, that's what happens when Colton Orr has a tummy ache, or the flu or whatever he has. Toronto really has yet to see the best of Orr, I was hoping we would this year but nothing doing so far. Rosehill can take beating for sure. But, you get going like that with little defense, I need to see a buckle if not a knockdown to go higher than a 7. McGrattan and a 7.

Posted by slavv on November 18, 2011 at 03:28 PM

Rosehill had no chance against the fiddler's elbow....

Posted by fernben8 on November 18, 2011 at 07:19 AM

Easier said than done but I don't get Rosehill... You would think after eating the first five solid ones that he'd change his game plan. If the 'Brownie' approach is not working, your instincts would tell you to bail out and try something different ! (McGratt's first two bleeding knuckles shows he's using the correct knuckles to land with.) Gave it a 7.

Posted by MidnightExpress on November 18, 2011 at 01:33 AM

Mcgrattan with a predictable win over a mid-heavyweight, rosehill...dirty celebration after makes me wish the leafs started their tough guy who can't skate to relive the calgary bout and put old AHL Brian back in his place...maybe secure a spot in the show before acting like a complete douchebag...good fight though

Posted by GreatMurray on November 18, 2011 at 08:02 AM

Total wipe out of Rosehill by McGratten. Rosehill must have a concrete head...should have been out and down! What fuggin' idiot called this a draw! I guess Grats loses point for making his own hand bleed!

Posted by Sonomatilts on April 17, 2014 at 07:08 AM

Brian Mcgrattan is by far the most exciting player on the Flames and makes every game worth watching.

Posted by SabresFanatic on November 20, 2011 at 09:35 PM

I dont think Rosy even landed!

Posted by slshbleed on November 18, 2011 at 10:50 AM

What the hell is Rosehill's face and skull made out of? Rosehill should rethink his approach on the square off . He really shouldn't lead with his chin except that his face and skull are made of some indestructible, mystery material. Rosehill gets the Homer Simpson skull strength award. Rosehill's toughness is impressive. Why does McG get a misconduct? I think Rosehill had the gloves off first. If he got the misconduct for the showboat after the fight that would be ok with me.

Posted by DARCY T on November 20, 2011 at 05:31 AM

clear win mcgrattan.rosehill is a warrior but macgrattan's reach advantage and power was too much to overcome....gave it 8

Posted by FaxCap on November 18, 2011 at 09:07 AM

Not sure how 4% saw it as a draw. Must be Rosehill's dad and brothers voting! McGrattan must have hit him with 40 rights.

Posted by prock2 on November 19, 2011 at 04:25 PM

McGrattan all day long! Rosehill gets a pat on the back for taking that beat down without going down.

Posted by shearer2 on November 19, 2011 at 06:15 PM

Now that's more like it, well done guys. Definate win McGratton but give Rosehill every credit for standing there and swinging right to the end.

Posted by BIG AL SECORD on November 17, 2011 at 11:56 PM

Good for Rosehill!!! This beating will get ORR back in the lineup on a more steady basis. McGratts looked solid...hate the showboating after beating up a middleweight. Act like you have been there big guy.

Posted by mrunohoo on November 18, 2011 at 07:50 PM

I kept waiting for Rosehill's head to pop up in the air with a "bing" noise. Rock 'em sock' em!

Posted by Vital Oath on November 18, 2011 at 06:47 PM

I give credit to Rosehill for not getting knocked out

Posted by billy jack on November 17, 2011 at 11:17 PM

man brian had rosehills head rockin, rosehill must have one tough noggin.rosehill is a lot like brown,a bunch of rapid punches that have no message attached.i gotta think orr stil lhas flash bulbs going off from last year, why else wouldn't he be in.but i like guys like orr havin a bit a cash in the bank for the beating they can tell bac is clean, his stamina is twice what it was,he looks alive.

Rosehill hase an anamantium face. McGrattan dominated.

Posted by boogards belt on November 18, 2011 at 12:58 AM

Kudos for throwing punches and not dancing and grabbing. Only thing better would have been to toss the helmets with the gloves.

Posted by hughcares on November 18, 2011 at 12:57 PM

McGratton the clown takes it and I hear he kept celebrating right to the bar and 20 vodkas. Perhaps the d!ckehad Wilson will put Orr in the line-up now.

Posted by bruiser11 on November 18, 2011 at 01:15 AM

McGrattan is devestating. He wants it everytime.

Posted by rocky 1 on November 19, 2011 at 12:15 AM

I had to search for words for a minute in exspressing this fight.Well here it goes.Welcome Mr. Rosehill to the top 5 of heavies in the league and you failed the test.A complete beat down by McGrattan .Call it a TKO! Where the hell is Orr!Not that it would matter much.Rosehill is at best a top 20 AHL fighter not a top 30 NHLl Heavy and thats that! The bully got bullied!Hey Leaf fans giving credit to a guy for being too stupid to hit the deck is just Insane!Look at Ali.

McGratton was on full blast... Announcers kill me... Knuckles get busted, sure... But "exhausted"???!!! Technique is on fine display by McGratton... Keep eyes open and on the matter at hand and throw the shortest distance between point A to target B.... repeatedly.

Posted by briggsy on April 01, 2012 at 09:01 PM

Posted by kinga101 on November 22, 2011 at 01:27 PM

McGrattan looks as good as ever. Rosehill will need a new helmet after that one. It has to have cracks in it!

Posted by Broons66 on November 18, 2011 at 09:47 AM

Posted by BigBadBruin22 on November 18, 2011 at 04:20 AM

First off, this was one of the better tilts in a while. Gratts just overpowered Rosey here. Not many guys just stand there and stare punches down while firing their own anymore! MacIntyre and Orr are two more that come to mind, and they are probably the only two heavies around that could possibly hand Gratts a loss. As for the the celebration after, I have NO problem with it. Gratts earned it with an entertaining bout like that AND if it bothers other players then seine will have to take him on and give him a beating to stop it from happening. Domi used to do that all of the time and no one had a problem with it. They r pumped up with adrenaline...sometimes they just act on emotion. Not a bog deal unless the guy that lost is unconscious or something.

Posted by The DZA on November 18, 2011 at 03:31 PM

Gotta give Rosehill credit for the amount of of hard roundhouses that he took. Not many players would be able to still stand during that. On a side note, Orr's concussion is obviously still an issue. He's hardly played this year. The Leafs claim he's fine, but this game was a perfect example of one that he should have been playing in and wasnt. Something is still wrong with him.

Posted by filthynumber1 on November 18, 2011 at 01:42 PM

Welcome back McGratts!!! Total domination. That was flashbacks of George McPhee vs. Rick Tocchet. Gave it a 9. Rosehill is lucky he had his head turned for some of those right hand sledgehammers. He must have a cast-iron jaw, because he ate a ton of rights. Great shot of the bloody knuckles in the sin bin!!!

Posted by kshafe777 on November 18, 2011 at 11:09 AM

while it was a good fight.. both threw their punches, and a lot of them, mcgrattan landed most... good fight

Posted by johnnyrock555 on November 21, 2011 at 06:52 PM

Rosehill missed most of those punches but McGrattan landed a surprising amount. Though I give Rosehill credit for not bleeding, McGrattan by domination.

Posted by shs on November 18, 2011 at 01:37 PM

mcgrattan is a beast.. but big ups for rosehill for sticking in there, and he laid a lot of hits himself

Posted by koolpunch on November 17, 2011 at 11:06 PM

wow. McGrattan took this one from the first punch. Huge credit to Rosehill for staying around. Unfortunately, his flurry of rights into the open air couldn't slow McGrattan...

Posted by kpdrummer82 on April 29, 2012 at 01:35 PM

McGrattan absolutely demolished Rosehill, was that like 20 straights to the face in a row?

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on February 10, 2013 at 12:35 AM

Both guys were throwing a ton, but only McGrattan was landing! Awesome fight, great action.

Posted by masseyferguson4 on January 14, 2014 at 09:44 PM

Mcgrattan destroyed rosehill but you got to give rosehill credit because he was able to hang in there while getting pounded punch after punch and didnt go down and kept fighting

Posted by EDDUBBS on November 18, 2011 at 05:39 AM

McGrattan throws them like a REAL NHL Old School fighter and Rosehill took them like an old school punching bag. Total Domination. THey should require NHL fighters to throw punched in this piston-like fashion or incurr additional penalties for boring the public.

Posted by WhiskeyJoe on November 18, 2011 at 05:01 PM

Posted by BOUNCER on November 19, 2011 at 05:17 PM

Let's get ready to rumble ladies and gentleman because MCGRATTAN is back . His 3 fights was very good boughts and in my opinion BRIAN MCGRATTAN is the # 1 fighter right now in the NHL . He is an open fighter and he throws big bombs too . He knows his job very well about when it's the right time to drop his gloves if it's necessary . I am very happy to see Brian Mcgrattan back in the NHL . He deserves it because he has worked very hard to accomplish that goal . Barry Trotz is the best NHL Coach right now and I think he is the right man to give that chance again to Mcgrattan to perform in the NHL . He has a great heart . Go Mcgrattan Go

Posted by Wensinkfan on November 19, 2011 at 12:39 PM

Domination by McGrattan. Rosehill got a strait up beating. Great fight since there was no grabbing pulling and dancing. A great hockey fight that every fighting player should at least watch once. Win by Mcgrattan done the right way.

Posted by Edsmo on November 18, 2011 at 10:27 AM

That was a severe smackdown delivered by McGrattan. It was better than a knockout because at least with a knockout it would have been over. This was a beating that Rosehill endured for quite a while. Honorable mention to Rosehill for not turtling.

Posted by Flyers20Fan on November 18, 2011 at 12:21 AM

Clear win McGrattan in maybe the best fight in awhile, the fact that the glass vs mccormick fight is ranked just as high is ridiculous I would give this a 9.5, the 8.6 its currently rated as is too low in my opinion, this is my guess for fight of the year not just now but for the rest of the year cus i dont think there will be a better fight than this however rosehill and mcgrattan have this trade punches style so maybe one of them will get in an even better exchange but i doubt it, great fight, props to rosehill as well for hanging in there and kept throwing punches

Posted by jim_mckenzie33 on November 18, 2011 at 10:44 AM

Rosey was VERY GAME...but Gratts got off early and often and landed a wicked late right ...right on the Bu-gel as Joe Bowen would say... This fight is what this SITE IS ALL ABOUT. Big time win by the man from Hammertown, Ontario.

Posted by TommyGun29 on November 18, 2011 at 01:22 PM

complete domination!! McGrattan was landing most of his and Rosehill was eating them. Gotta hand it to him though...Rosy took a lot of shots and din't pull the chute! Best fight of the season so far!

Way to go Jay.....full marks for GUTS and for knowing how to act despite getting beat you stood in there and didn't turn in to a 2 year old....

Posted by KovHeLL on November 18, 2011 at 11:38 PM

McG threw alot of punches - 99% to the helmet of Rosie. Rosie landed 4 or 5 shots to McG's face. If it was a punch count then yes McG. I went with shots that landed somewhere other then ones helmet.

Posted by whalen7 on November 18, 2011 at 11:10 AM

are you guys watching? Mcgrattan landed tons of shots to the helmet... did hardly any damage... Draw

Good bout

Posted by STL13 on November 20, 2011 at 07:46 AM

McGrattan with the win and the D-bag celebratory hands up to the crowd. Can't a guy be a "cool" badass anymore? BTW....McGrattan landed more than 16 hits to the helmet....(watch the replay), no wonder his hands were bleeding! And how could people give this such a high rating for such an uneven fight? Did Rosehill even land a punch?!?! I'd give McGrattan a 9 and Rosehill a 3 ...equals a 6. Flyers20Fan said "I would give this a 9.5, the 8.6 its currently rated as is too low in my opinion, this is my guess for fight of the year not just now but for the rest of the year cus i dont think there will be a better fight than this" OMFG....what a dumbass! This isn't the fight of the year, it was lopsided. THAT'S not a good fight! Maybe there should be a ass kicking of the year and a fight of the year and seperate ratings for both. I will NEVER understand how this can be rated so high when only opne person actually landed punches. McGrattan doubt about it but fight of the year? Geezus! THIS lopsided tilt wasn't a fight of the Check this one out! or this one...

Posted by Oil Can Henry on November 17, 2011 at 11:51 PM

...the ONLY guy "throwin'-em", was McGrattan,...Rosehill was being used for target-practice,......

Posted by HawaiiHockey on April 10, 2012 at 07:20 PM

McGrattan won that, but the vast majority of his hits landed on helmet. He's an idiot and his gesture at the end of the fight shows it. If those rapid fire hits had really connected hard, Rosehill would have been down on the ice. I didn't see Rosehill after the fight, but McGrattan's hand was super bloody.

Posted by Dijo on November 18, 2011 at 12:23 AM

McGrattan with the win, but give credit to Rosehill for hanging in there with one of the NHL's best. The Leafs have to get Orr back in the lineup. He's healthy, but Ron Wilson prefers Rosehill because he's definitely the better player of the 2. Rosehill just doesn't have Orr's power. I didn't like McGrattan's showboating at the end, but he's done that before. It could be a good thing. Maybe McGrattan's antics will get NHL teams dressing their heavyweights again.

Posted by mike hartman on November 18, 2011 at 08:56 AM

McGratton fed him a ton of rights. rosehill hung in their and even landed a few of his own. Great bout. Obvious win for McGratton but props to rosehill for hanging in there.

Looks like Rosie's face did a number on McGrattan's fists. I think the last time a Leaf won a fight was in 1967

Posted by fritomnky on November 18, 2011 at 01:12 AM

Holy Jebus...that was awesome!

Posted by bigdog2007 on November 19, 2011 at 11:18 AM

LMFAO......Wow......Typical Leaf taking a beat down!!! Rosie make Lucie Schenn look tough. Where is Leafs2006? Washing his jizz and mustard stained Coltie Eggshell Orreo jersey?

Posted by Viper207 on April 16, 2014 at 07:39 PM

WOW is right. Rosehill can take a punch, that's for sure.

Posted by wannago_letsgo on November 18, 2011 at 01:04 PM

McGrattan all the way, nice to see Rosehill uses this site and votes for himself as the winner. If it wasn't Rosehill then some leaf fans are hopefully joking, i'm a leafs fan by the way. I watched this on Leafs TV and had a good laugh at Joe Bowen's comment about McGrattans knuckles taking the worst of the fight, fairly sure Roshills face felt worse than those leather wrapped battering rams.

Posted by BigBadBruins68 on November 19, 2011 at 01:52 AM

Rosehill proves he has a titanium chin, taking a terrifying number of direct and full power punches from one of the hardest hitting heavyweights in the league and never once looks like he's going down. Gratts definitely won dominantly, but give Rosehill credit, he took a ton and kept returning, only landing a few, but staying in the fight 'til the end. Great tilt.

Posted by wirzy on November 20, 2011 at 12:42 PM

How could anyone vote for Rosehill in this bout? His arm was swinging but he wasn't landing anything. Meanwhile McGrattan was pummeling in the face over and over. Best part of all to me is that Rosehill started it. What a chump!

Posted by brokenhead on November 18, 2011 at 12:55 AM

Gratts with the overwhelming W! SO happy he has found a new home and getting the ice time he deserves!! He looks like a beast and he's having FUN! Welcome back Brian! Definate FoTY candidate.......only thing that woulda been better is, if Rosehill had of been Colton Orr.

Posted by bleachy666 on November 17, 2011 at 10:59 PM

McGrattan wins!

Posted by KeepItSharp on March 15, 2012 at 05:19 PM

I've never seen ANYTHING like it. WOW. That inarguably goes to McGrattan.

Posted by J.R. Abel on April 16, 2014 at 12:35 AM

Rosey stood in there. But Grats just throws and pummels. calling it a 9. McGrattan all day.

Posted by illukka on November 21, 2011 at 01:31 AM

fantastic fight

Posted by Rick16 on November 20, 2011 at 12:03 AM

dandy fight - mcgrattan uses his reach advantage but loved seeing these two heavyweights throwing that many shots

Posted by samtheman on November 23, 2011 at 07:16 AM

That was one of the most one sided bouts I've ever seen. I didn't see any of Roeshill's punches get through and McGrattan seemed to land every one he threw. Props to Rosehill for staying on his skates.

What b.t. wilson said. Happy times here in Nashville

Posted by muskokadangler on November 18, 2011 at 08:04 PM

Well at least he didnt go done LOL Rosehill was just schooled in the fine art of a NHL heavyweight Bout Gratts has definately got it goin on.......

Lawnmower. Love it.

Posted by Big_Fat_Dan on November 18, 2011 at 02:10 AM

McGrattan is having a ball this year and the Preds crowd love it. Props to Rosey, he has a future as a tough guy and will learn a lot from that bout. But McGrattan just looks awesome, two horse race between the Mc/Mac's.

Posted by FHgrad99 on November 17, 2011 at 11:24 PM

This might be the fight of the year leader so far. This one was all offense but McGratton was landing a lot more than Rosehill was and most of them were heavy shots. Good toe-to-toe fight here. Rosehill's head must be made out of concrete because a lot of fighters would have gone down after taking some of the punches he took from McGratton. Good fight, I gave it a solid 9.

Posted by Massive Coiler on November 17, 2011 at 11:00 PM

McGratten dominated that one

Posted by JeanLaValette on November 21, 2011 at 04:59 AM

Rosehill ate so many punches i don't know how he is standing...he one tough hombre, but McGrattan destroys him....end result never in jeopardy. 9 and a dominating win for McGrattan...

Posted by PantherPete on April 16, 2014 at 05:54 PM

99% of other fighters would have gone down with any of those punches. Classic! Sore just from watching.
