Dancing fags in love - draw.Callahan can't fight

Posted by The Mob on November 29, 2009 at 10:28 AM

I would have liked that bout between brashear and cooke to develope further....the two biggest idiots in the league pounding on each other.... talk about a self fulfilling prophecy. Brash would butcher cooke for sure ...which is what he needs.

Posted by coreyviking on December 03, 2009 at 12:39 PM

matt cooke likes to think of himself as tough behind ovechkin he is the dirtiest player in the league.

Posted by asakuj on November 30, 2009 at 08:42 AM

Cooke tied him up for a draw. I think he did Ryan a favor here..

Posted by kryon24 on November 30, 2009 at 12:05 PM

Pretty even scrap with both looking to land bombs but most missed. To bad as I would have liked to see at least one connecting. Punch, swirl, get dizzy and Brashear (aka Hug) each other and whisper sweet nothin's in their ears. OK draw fight or very slight edge for Callahan as Cooke was hugging first.

Posted by Ripper20 on December 02, 2009 at 12:27 PM

I think Cooke is a chickens#@t punk, but I'll give him credit here for actually quaring up with somebody. No clear winner here, pretty even, but I think Callahan hurt him with the shot just before Cookie started trying to make out with him.

Posted by BattleAxe13 on November 29, 2009 at 02:49 PM

Atleast Callahan had the guts to drop the gloves and visor and go face to face with Cooke unlike Brash and punk p*ssy Avery on Feds. This fight started off like a classic then ended with disappointing hugs. Draw. Both landed good shots but they both kinda gave up after a while.

Posted by Dave Brown HOF on November 29, 2009 at 03:56 PM

Holy shit. Did I just see Cooke drop the gloves and the lid??? That just makes the fact that none of the Flames drop their lids that much more embarrassing for them now that Cooke has done it. Draw! By the looks of it, this must have been quite the game.

Posted by upyours on November 29, 2009 at 01:28 AM

I called it even. I give Callahan props for squaring up and challenging Cooke eye to eye instead of jumping him like like that punk Brashear did after Cookie blindsided a Ranger. Brashear cowarded out to Godard later in the period.

Posted by bruins rule on November 29, 2009 at 08:10 AM

looked like a pretty even fight.gave it a draw.

Posted by C. Alter on January 10, 2010 at 05:22 PM

starts ok, ends as a dance class

Posted by Scouser on November 29, 2009 at 04:47 PM

Draw for me. Good to see Cooke doing the decent thing and answering the bell honourably. Got to wonder whether some of his team mates might have had a quiet word about doing some of his own dirty work. As for Brashear going after Cooke, well that is his job as a 'policeman' but turning down Godard means that he is either injured from the MacIntyre fight or too old for this job.

Good little scrap with everyone doing the ''class act'' bit. Considering those facts, it begs the question... who was that wearing Matt Cookes jersey?

Posted by shrk33 on November 29, 2009 at 06:01 PM

Nice little scrap. Would have liked to see Cooke on the receiving end of many, but each guy got in a few shots. Draw

Posted by 854x on November 29, 2009 at 12:07 PM

good fight called a draw, fun to see brash run away from godard, i guess he didn't want to get busted open again

Posted by Elegance on November 29, 2009 at 02:27 AM

giving this a 6/10... Its a Draw from what I see. I am giving Callahan some credit here though, he had the balls to square up to cooke face to face. Both landed some. Both shed the helmet. Good to see cooke stand up for himself. And thanks to Brash for those two powerplay goals. Was funny seeing Brash duck and run from Godard. He better drop them gloves on Monday. Don't see how any Ranger fan can be proud of these so called "tough Guys", jump someone from behind, take a double roughing against a nonfighter. then cower to the opponents fighter. Oh and run your mouth all game and do not back it up.. lot to be proud about there. Only thing i can see the Rangers did right was Callahan.

Posted by billy jack on November 29, 2009 at 12:29 AM

cook tagged him twice callahan hit chest, win cook.good short scrap.

Posted by scrapiron wins on November 28, 2009 at 11:54 PM

Cooke wins fight.most importantly he took the rangers out of the game. That is a bigger win.

Posted by bunkerman on November 29, 2009 at 12:06 AM

cooke win

Posted by neiljc on December 03, 2009 at 08:30 PM

This was entertaining. Cooke with slightly better punches, so he gets the edge.

Posted by bruiseyoureye on November 28, 2009 at 11:50 PM

matt cooke wins.

Posted by kevinguy13 on November 29, 2009 at 10:30 AM

Slight edge to Cooke for landing 1 or 2 more punches

Posted by dogace on November 29, 2009 at 12:22 PM

good fight by both guys! i just cant believe brash ducked godard! and avery jumps a non fighter! cant wait to monday night! might be a lot of mits flying!

Posted by bloodykunckles on November 29, 2009 at 01:47 PM

not a good fight... but Cooke started strong but ounce he got hit, that was it he just hugged him,, I have to say win to Callahan.

Posted by rangersfan10 on February 14, 2010 at 08:34 AM

not bad I would like to see callahan knock him out but he did a good job

Posted by tyrone on November 29, 2009 at 09:38 PM

Cook is a fukcer. Win for Harry Callahan (make my day bitch)

Posted by QUIGGS22 on November 29, 2009 at 02:37 PM

Callahan gets the win but I will give props to Cooke for standing up for himself.

Posted by lb1631 on November 29, 2009 at 11:38 AM

Matt Cooke is a gutless puke right up there with Steve Ott and Rutuu. I give Callahan the win just for standing up for his teamate and because he really is not a fighter. Not to mention he lands a few.

Posted by Joey_Kocur_26 on November 30, 2009 at 04:24 AM

Ryan showing true leadership! the A on the chest fits well.

Posted by beautokyo on November 29, 2009 at 12:14 AM

pretty even fight.......gotta give it to Callahan because of less experience and he held his own

Posted by stevkrause on November 30, 2009 at 12:58 PM

Big points for Callhan for standing up for a teammate against a rat like Cooke

Posted by nycbob on November 29, 2009 at 10:43 AM

cookes a cheap shot bitch. refs should have let brash beat the piss out of him, then maybe guys would think twice on the cheap sots

Posted by staceyb on November 29, 2009 at 07:29 PM

Kudos to Cally for going after Cooke after the cheap hit on Anisimov. That stuff comes with wearing the "A" on your sweater.

Posted by ilovenyr on November 29, 2009 at 01:49 AM

I thought it was kinda close.

Posted by mcb789 on November 28, 2009 at 10:50 PM

callahan destroyed cooke in this fight. win for callahan.

Posted by Snot-Bubbler on November 29, 2009 at 02:45 PM

I hope Matt Cooke does not get suspended. Because his head is going to splattered like a watermelon. Then they will change the rule book.

Posted by rangers16 on November 29, 2009 at 01:43 AM

callahan lands a few right on the button pretty even fight here but i give the edge to cally for landing the cleaning shots

Posted by Oil Can Henry on November 29, 2009 at 02:10 AM

They dropped their helmets for this?...a few, harmless shoulder shots?

Posted by BigBadWolf1171 on November 29, 2009 at 10:08 AM

draw if you go by punches landed.. Brash did the right thing,if the ref let him pound on cooke maybe next time cooke wouldnt throw a semi dirty hit,in the end it'll keep players off the injury list..

Posted by Helmut on November 29, 2009 at 05:10 PM

Matt Cooke fighting a smaller player-- who'd a thunk it? Cooke must kick ass on all the local kindergarten kids.

Posted by J.R. Abel on November 29, 2009 at 04:09 PM

TEXT BOOK Draw. Nothing else that happened in this game or your opinion of either combatant should change your vote, or you're just not voting honestly.

Posted by tiburon4 on November 29, 2009 at 09:04 PM

Started out great, then sucked: draw.

Posted by tomales2 on November 29, 2009 at 10:00 AM

Difficult to call. Draw, I guess.

Posted by goody72 on December 01, 2009 at 10:49 PM

Good fight. I hope Callahan is a career Ranger. Our future captain. Not a fan of Brashear. He is a tough guy. But, I really miss Colton Orr.

Posted by PuckmaninMN on November 29, 2009 at 10:26 AM

I NEVER thought I would live to see the day when Cooke voluntarily fights and takes off the lid.

Posted by Richterfan on November 29, 2009 at 11:36 AM

Draw in a decent fight. I am pinching myself to make sure that I not dreaming. Did I just see Matt Cooke drop his gloves, shed his visor and square off? I didn't think that was possible!? Cooke actually looked somewhat decent here. It was also interesting to see him switch stances during the square off. Both guys land some decent right hands before they lose balance and then grab hold looking for the refs.

Posted by bfox9 on July 29, 2013 at 04:52 PM

Draw, good fight. Question for the Penguins fans who were at this game: How the fuck do you cheer for Matt Cooke?

Posted by bam932 on November 29, 2009 at 01:54 AM

The end of the fight reminds me of a grade 7 school dance.

Posted by piney on November 29, 2009 at 07:25 AM

cooke in a 4

Posted by chad420 on November 30, 2009 at 10:47 PM

win cooke...after throwing their mandatory"few"......they decided to play huggybear

Posted by goob on November 29, 2009 at 09:02 AM

cooke can really throw em if he stays in his weight class which he did in this one...he is never going to fight a brashear or any heavy weight for that matter nor should he that is godards job which from the other comments brash wanted no part of........

Posted by Kid Roberts on November 28, 2009 at 10:57 PM

Close fight but edge to Cooke and sticking up for himself.

Posted by azjim on November 30, 2009 at 05:03 AM

Callhan with the better punches.

Posted by BigBadBruins68 on October 19, 2010 at 08:15 AM

After Cooke got a taste of Callahan's right, he wanted nothing to do with him anymore and hugged for dear life. Callahan wins.

Posted by TrueBlue26 on November 29, 2009 at 10:39 AM

callahan wins...he landed more punches...cooke is a dirty player

Posted by nyrhky21 on November 29, 2009 at 01:34 AM

even fight. draw. callahan should put the "C" on his chest, and send drury down to hartford

Posted by millerdvr on November 28, 2009 at 11:33 PM

cooke lost his gloves, lost his stick, lost some teeth and lost the fight, cooke loses all his fights though so pens fans shouldn't be too upset
