Nice surprise shot by Erskine. Laraque isn't nearly as effective as his reputation anymore. Good quick win.

Posted by Leafs2006 on November 21, 2009 at 06:45 AM

Eskine gets BGL quick, and gets the decision, if this fight was a square off, droppin the mitts the same time, Erskine gets destroyed, my opinion, but Ersk gets the decision here.

Posted by Mackyboy on November 21, 2009 at 12:59 PM

BGL looks rusty. needs to go back to his roots and be more aggressive. He's always trying to wait and isn't dominant has he should be. Come Georges, do what you're being paid to do !

Posted by mjb_17 on November 21, 2009 at 12:16 PM

Clear DRAW. Erskine looked like a pussy, square off like a man! Non of his punches landed and if they did they were suck wet noodles that they had no impact. Figure it out idiots!

Posted by Fistking on November 23, 2009 at 05:10 AM

Acts of Erskine were unfair. Starts to rush through while Big Georges is not ready enough to defend himself. That´s the main reason why Erskine then wrestled him down. He was scared and should´ve been. no winner for this wrestling match.

Posted by rocky 1 on December 16, 2009 at 01:45 AM

If anyone believes Erskine wins this fight there Blind.First he jumps George like a girl would then throws a few rabbit punches to nowhere.Watch the next time they meet George will be ready and Erskine will be hurting bigtime all!

Anyone who votes for anything other than a draw is this is nuts. There are so many people out there who have been waiting for a long long time for any excuse at all to say that Laraque lost a fight and jumped at this as their opportunity. Nice try Laraque and Hab haters but this ones a clear cut draw. which does buy Erskine some props for standing toe to toe with the heavyweight champ of hockey. Mind you this was Laraques first game in over a month and showed he that he was out of top shape by loafing around the ice for the entire amount of short ice time he was granted. Four or five seconds and only one solid blow to the back of the head doesn't win anyone a fight in my books.

Posted by PBMIDD on November 22, 2009 at 03:12 PM

BS fight. Give Laraque the respect of a fair scrap.Draw is all will give.

Posted by kayc906 on November 21, 2009 at 03:09 AM

A simple DRAW

Posted by laurenthou on November 26, 2009 at 06:12 PM

Erskine jump on Laraque, dont respect the code. Draw.

Posted by habsroom on November 21, 2009 at 09:08 AM

Erskine was scared to death even the washington color guy said he jumped the chocolate rocket.

Posted by Dave Brown HOF on November 22, 2009 at 02:31 PM

Draw. Sorry, I can't give a guy a win when he jumps the other guy. Laraque is one of the fairest fighters in the league and Erskine had every opportunity to drop them without jumping him, that was bush league.

Posted by Bruins29 on November 21, 2009 at 12:31 PM

I'd love to say that Laraque lost a fight, but he didn't. Erskine jumped him before he was ready, and after throwing 3 quick rights, he wrestled Laraque to the ice. Not exactly a win in my book. Laraque probably should have been more ready for the gloves to drop, but I still think this was a draw.

Posted by mcb789 on November 20, 2009 at 11:08 PM

laraque with the easy win in this fight.

Posted by Mr.Fishy on November 21, 2009 at 04:47 PM

This was Laraques first game in a month give him credit at least

Posted by Rantavahti on November 22, 2009 at 05:58 AM

Erskine was sneaky :). Win for him but he knows himself that the way he got it was questionable.

Posted by acd1 on November 25, 2009 at 01:54 PM

BGL is a joke

Posted by Shut up on November 20, 2009 at 10:26 PM

If your gonna fight be ready. Erskine was. Give it to the cap player. George better get into fighting shape.

Posted by Brujo on January 07, 2010 at 03:49 PM

crap fight, but Erskine is a tough guy, and for what I see in this fight smart. He went all out on BGL and takled him before anything came his way.

Posted by rob2h on January 07, 2010 at 07:33 PM

Really not much of a fight,Erskine only gets the win for the take down. Not enough punches landed by either.

Posted by Juha82 on November 21, 2009 at 02:27 AM

EDGE Erskine landing few strong punches.

Posted by bruiseyoureye on November 21, 2009 at 02:24 PM

slight edge to erskine in a lame weak fight.

Posted by straightup on November 21, 2009 at 03:58 PM

Erskine was happy at landing a right and wanted to take the fight to the ground to survive. Can't blame him. Crap fight but he won.

Posted by pepsigenerate on November 21, 2009 at 03:56 AM

erskine started throwing first and he gave his best, and still laraque was still on his feet, then they both juss go down,,,,,round two should be better, and no erskine is not the champ,he has to beat Janssen/McGrattan/Godard first cause these are the three that gave erskine a good beating in there bouts.[AMONG OTHERS].And these three were a big hit when they squared off at there recent games last year and the year before against geoge laraque bout laraque gave them a beating.

Posted by MACMAN214 on November 24, 2009 at 12:47 PM

Laraque talked Erskine responded = Erskine wins crap fight

Posted by kryon24 on November 21, 2009 at 04:33 PM

Ha Ha How about that role reversal. So now I wonder how Georgie Boy feels about the takedowns as Erskine gets the jump and uses his MMA skills for the takedown. Love it. Erskine with the win.

Posted by NotoriousT on November 20, 2009 at 10:51 PM

I guess thats one way to beat Laraque. Erskine gets the nod here but only for throwing a few shots before Laraque even knew they were fighting and getting BGL off balance. Not a great fight at all really wanted to see them squire off and have another go at it. For two big boys this fight was a let down. Erskine with the Win gave it a 3

Posted by ghjkfdhgfd on November 20, 2009 at 10:24 PM

Posted by EastKing on November 21, 2009 at 11:23 PM

Erskine win all the way

Posted by thebigbea55 on November 22, 2009 at 03:19 AM

erskine surprised BGL here.. if they go again, BGL will kill him easy..

Posted by Behn Wilson on November 21, 2009 at 01:02 AM

Punched and floored based on a good start.

Posted by shrk33 on November 20, 2009 at 11:54 PM

Erskine gets the start on this fight and takes out Laraque.

Posted by omorales on November 21, 2009 at 12:33 AM

Erskine W, smart fight....

Posted by Sukoshi84 on November 20, 2009 at 11:04 PM

Edge Erskine

Posted by hkhk on November 21, 2009 at 12:40 AM

erskine threw b4 bgl dropem luckily for erskine they hit the ice

Posted by bostonrs555 on November 21, 2009 at 08:18 AM

Erskine throws as many punches as he can before Laraque can get squared away, then takes him down.... Puss move, but John Boy gets the cheap W. Any true Capital fan would boo this.....

Posted by Bear72 on November 21, 2009 at 02:58 PM

Surprise BGL loses maybe its time to retire

Posted by tonydomi1 on November 21, 2009 at 01:04 PM

You wanted him Big G you got him! Three shots and then he rag dolled you to the ice. Next time you call somebody out, be ready to throw! Win Erskine.

Posted by Detroit_Caps on November 25, 2009 at 09:16 AM

"Erkenstein" capitalized (no pun) on every advantage and knowing his opponent, didn't let Lafrog get in his Georges Foreman stance. Complete win for Erk.

Posted by bigjcc526 on November 21, 2009 at 10:23 AM

BGL gets ripped by his pu$$y hometown fans all the time. He got what he deserved though, for talking too muhc, trying to be a gentleman. Habs are my team, but the fans totally suck, especially the French ones. Erskine with an easy win here, but I think BGL will dominate if there's a rematch

Posted by bruins rule on November 20, 2009 at 10:37 PM

erskine gets the win in this fight.

Posted by Hendo67 on November 20, 2009 at 10:13 PM

Erskine gets the jump on him and lands the few shots of the fight, Erskine with the W, but it wasn't much of a scrap. /Patiently awaits for MCB to say "LARAQUE DESTROYED ERSKINE, ERSKINE LOSES ANOTHER FIGHT"

Posted by C. Alter on December 05, 2009 at 08:57 PM

Erskine beats Laraque? Amazing!

Posted by Big_Goon on November 21, 2009 at 08:01 AM

Laraque wanted the fight, challenged Erskine for several seconds as Erskine was making his way to the bench. When the gloves came off Erskine being a wide open fighter didn't bother to pose/posture/etc he just started trowing. Erskine with a clear win in a rather uneventful fight.

Posted by dukeofearle on November 22, 2009 at 04:39 PM

Wow Laraque is still in this league? Who Knew Its funny that the first thing I see outta this guy all year is him trying to pick a fight with a non-fighter. I dont think he has the crown anymore. two words Colton Orr.

Posted by Gunslinger on November 22, 2009 at 11:02 AM

BGL's career keeps getting worse. A champ like him should not have let Erskine get off first. After this embarrasement he goes out the next night and kneecaps a Dead Thing. Go Away BGL, your tarnishing your legacy.

Posted by billy jack on November 23, 2009 at 05:26 PM

erskine started swinging and never stopped until he was on to of laraque.

Posted by Heyzeus on November 21, 2009 at 12:26 PM

Erskine with the easy win..

Posted by jlmcgui on November 30, 2009 at 06:52 PM

Erskine with the take down!

Posted by tattooedkingpin on November 21, 2009 at 04:00 AM

Nice hair Georges. he should lose just for that. W Erskine

Posted by staceyb on November 21, 2009 at 06:43 AM

I watched the Caps feed and they were replaying this fight at every opportunity before commercial breaks. Erskine used the Pearl Harbor strategy and laid into BGL before he could get set. Of course the BGL strategy was to take a defenseman with him to the sin bin so the Caps would have to play defense with rookies.

Posted by bruiser11 on November 20, 2009 at 10:17 PM

erskine did alright, yet didn't pound laraque, and its good to see laraque get thrown down for once...he's a big takedown artist that never wants to go long at all!

Posted by jbaktai on November 23, 2009 at 11:09 AM

how do you vote larauqe on this one? Realistically tho that take down prob saved erskin from a beatdown

Posted by shuckthefarks on November 22, 2009 at 04:11 PM

I'll give it the win to Erskine. He clearly wanted to hit fast and get in for the takedown fast before BGL was ready for him.

Posted by 45skyfire on November 23, 2009 at 01:08 AM

Laraque didnt get a chance to do his patented stance....then the garb followed by skating backwards while the other guys throws punches...... Looks like George's age is showing.....Erskine didnt give him much time to do his "huggy" thing

Posted by CAPfalcon84 on November 21, 2009 at 02:30 AM

W Erskine, he played it well

Posted by m4rine77 on November 21, 2009 at 10:04 AM

good to see laraque get beat. erskine's a monster. so far he's taken down lucic and laraque! good for erskine. btw "habsroom" your a prick go back to canada erskine won that fight stop being a homer.

Posted by commander on November 22, 2009 at 09:26 PM

This is the first time I've actually seen Laraque not able to wrestle an opponent to the ice in less than 10 seconds. Instead, he took some shots to the head and than manage to drag Erskine (good thing he did!!) to the ice with him....

Posted by FlyersFan29 on November 26, 2009 at 10:23 PM

BGL got manhandled

Posted by pitslam on November 21, 2009 at 12:29 AM

Here is the funny part if you switched the two fighters in this fight half tools on here would be saying George destroyed him.LOL. Nice to see the that pud of wrestler get a taste of his own medicine

Posted by moneybags on November 21, 2009 at 04:45 AM

no bs,no dancin in circles for 10 min...erskine went right at em and won..good job

Posted by Cid on November 20, 2009 at 11:09 PM

If it was unclear before whether or not Laraque had lost his title as heavyweight champ around the NHL, it's clear as day now. He doesn't fight often and after this loss to Erskine he goes down the ranks in my books. Colton Orr, despite losing a similar hug fest to Laraque to kick off the season, has to be the current king based on results this year. Boogard gets an honorable mention, but noone will fight him. lol. Not much of a fight but Erskine did what he needed to for the Victory! Always funny watching BGL get wrestled to the ice. IRONY!!!

Posted by zonkedforlife on May 18, 2010 at 12:02 AM

Wow Erskine really does know how to fight, he actually beat Laraque and he also took on Lucic and won then too.

Posted by Rypien on November 21, 2009 at 12:07 AM

Erskine wrecked.

Posted by shawnfightlover on November 26, 2009 at 05:29 PM

eskrine beat laraque bad

Posted by Togalthorpe on November 21, 2009 at 01:31 AM

Surprised it wasn't a typical wrestling match like Laraque would have planned. Erskine got the jump on him and clearly gets the decisive win

Posted by jakeshapiro on November 21, 2009 at 03:12 AM

Masterful. Everyone has different criteria for a fight, but to me, knocking your opponent to the ice is pretty much a win.

Posted by bloodykunckles on November 26, 2009 at 02:49 AM

Great on John Erskine's part by just exploding right away, came out pounding away.

Posted by BigBadWolf1171 on November 29, 2009 at 01:41 AM

erskine gave GL the beat down, GL tried to get him going the entire time, erskine finally takes it to him and people call foul.. wtf? homers? does it make ersking the new heavyweight? fk no, he just won the fight, everyone loses now and then..

Posted by marinermoose38 on November 20, 2009 at 11:46 PM

So Erskine wrestles Laraque down so somehow he's the winner????? This is a CLEAR DRAW and shouldn't have even been called a fight. No punches landed and it was obvious Erskine wanted NO PART of BGL!!

Posted by millerdvr on November 20, 2009 at 10:50 PM

Wow..... BGL with another sweet wrestling match, typical bgl fight though, 1-2 punches then a takedown , lame fight

Posted by Oil Can Henry on November 20, 2009 at 11:43 PM

Erskine lands a couple quick ones,...realizes what he's done and gets nervous,....quickly, goes for the tackle - that's a win, I guess, right?,...isn't it?,....he's the champ, now, right?

Posted by MrNice on November 20, 2009 at 11:57 PM

Lands more in the exchange and then wrestles BGL to the ice. Edge Erskine.

Posted by muskokadangler on November 21, 2009 at 02:09 PM

Lousy fight. Johnny E with the Cheezzy win.

Posted by PigIron on November 22, 2009 at 01:50 PM

Well, W for Erskine - but an * should go by it. If nothing else, GL learned to be ready for the quick shelling!

Posted by goob on November 21, 2009 at 09:36 AM

it's been so long for laraque and it showed erskine did it right by starting fast and ending it quick......

Posted by azjim on November 21, 2009 at 02:27 AM

Erskine got the jump on him, but BGL had his gloves off before the punches landed. I guess he didn't get to wish him good luck. Erskine with the narrow win.

Posted by chad420 on November 20, 2009 at 11:15 PM

"strike first...strike fast...strike hard.....YES SENSI".....win erskine over bgl in a quick one

Posted by tomales2 on November 21, 2009 at 03:28 AM

Erskine gets the clear nod, but may have been fortunate that the fight didn't go any longer. "he's the champ, now, right? " Lol, great line. Just ask Belak's faithful!

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on March 04, 2015 at 07:49 PM

Man, Erskine really got the jump on Georges
