bieksa can handle himself just fine, as can eager. duncan keith knows what he's doing (when he does it)...but burrows...are you serious? has matt cooke, jarkko ruutu, or sean avery every pulled someone's hair, on purpose?

Posted by gthompson75 on March 29, 2009 at 11:45 PM

Of course eager was avoiding O'Brien and went after the smaller guy, eager is a no skill bum in the NHL and it shows his intelligence going back after bieska and hitting the ref by accident. In the end all that matters is the score, hopefully Chicago vs. van 1st round, canucks will have an easy time with the young inexperienced hawks.

First off.. Eager's "knock down" came from a sternum punch on an errant punch to the STURNUM. watch the vid at about the 2:43 mark you'll see clearly that he does not hit his jaw. This is a draw, and I would love to see these 2 drop the mitts again. This had the makings of a brutal fight. these 2 guys love to dance. and stop with all the hating. bieksa is a great fighter, he see's red and its on. he'll never quit. and Eager is a behemoth. one tough dude. Watch the fight with an unbiased mind, and THEN post a review. flame on the youtube boards .. is for fight talk.. not "my dick is bigger than yours" talk. kthxbye

Draw Eager in the beginning Bieksa at the end

Good ole time hockey, love it.

Posted by GSP09 on March 30, 2009 at 07:33 PM

WWF at his best, can't give the W to Eager cause of that dangerous takedown, this is not fighting. and that Alexandra what the heck is he doing pulling hair.

Posted by MashnBangers on April 01, 2009 at 02:04 AM

Slight edge to Eager who as usually behaves like a little pussy by running away from his own wight class (Shane O'Brian) and trying to fight the Canucks smallest d-man on the team. Except guess what Eager fans, Bieska is a hell of a lot better fighter then Eager so the big Hawks' goon resorts to 'ufc wrestling' when he feels like Bieska might actually start a real hockey fight with him. What a low-life, no wonder he didn't want to get caught by O'Brian.

Posted by Dave Brown HOF on March 31, 2009 at 10:26 AM

Claire Alexande, do you even watch the games or the highlights or do you just guess at what you think could have happened? The reason that the Nucks didn't go after that lard ass Buttlovin is because they originally didn't see what he did and then the refs took him off of the ice before the skirmish broke out. Did you want them to ask him to unlock the door to the penalty box so that they could fight him? Franchise, what the fuck are you talking about? Destroyed, oh sorry DESTROYED? Wake up dude. Nobody got destroyed, it was good old time hockey. Since it's obvious that you don't know the difference between a KO and a KD. Maybe before you post next time, you could do some research on that and then you might have some credibility. There was no KO dumbass.

PULLING HAIR? wtf was burrows thinking?

Posted by daflyersman on March 30, 2009 at 10:15 AM

I thought that Eager was in trouble when Bieksa's arms came loose, but Eager was like a WEC fighter. Picking him up and slamming him down. I think I'll give it a draw.

Posted by saxonthebeach on March 31, 2009 at 09:52 PM

Eager wouldn't drop the gloves when they're eye to eye. He waits until he can grab Bieksa from behind. *ahem.* Body slams are a chicken**** move. Maybe someone's afraid to get hit?

Posted by zonkedforlife on March 30, 2009 at 12:05 AM

Eager got Bieksa good but when Bieksa was in a bad position Eager couldn't finish him off so Bieksa starts getting Eager while he's down.

Posted by ButterBean24 on March 30, 2009 at 08:21 PM

Eager caught Bieksa at the start but Bieksa regained composure. Bieksa got a good punch in and Eager takes the pu**y move and takes down Bieksa. Ben Eager was obviously scared of Shane O'brien and instead of taking it like a man he goes and grabs a middleweight from behind whatta little bi***.

Posted by trpaulson on March 30, 2009 at 03:18 PM

Eager wins, still a douchebag.

Posted by Ogre on March 30, 2009 at 02:18 PM

Bieksa finally fights somebody who has won a fight before and gets dropped. Looked an awful lot like Semin when he tried to jump on Eager and hump him Champion of chumps

Canucks need Ripper back soon!!!

Posted by Martell on April 01, 2009 at 03:56 PM

Glad to see Bieksa get slapped around. Couldn't cheapshot a middleweight and get away with it... Win or lose, Eager is fun to watch!!

Posted by natebomb on March 30, 2009 at 09:45 AM

So, Eager bodyslams Bieksa, Burrows pulls a Comrie and the ref slew foots O'Brien? That ref should be suspended.

Posted by Behn Wilson on March 30, 2009 at 12:02 AM

Eager embarrasses Bieska with a left, and the latter goes all ''school-girl scratchy'' in response.

Posted by Your Mom on April 01, 2009 at 09:22 PM

Eager easy - not sure what Bieska fans are looking at... I don't see one clean shot by Bieska... no contest.

Posted by kbagwell on April 01, 2009 at 08:14 AM

For you non Hawk fans, you gotta know that Eager is ready to go every night, never backs away and will come to the aid of any teammate, Eager outmuscled Bieksa, so dont give me this crap that Bieska's arm was tied up, Eager by TKO !!!!!

Posted by EDDUBBS on March 30, 2009 at 06:17 AM

Eager with the left to the jaw.

Posted by wannagoagain on April 01, 2009 at 11:48 AM

Update: I should also add that I TiVo'd the game, came home, and frame by frame viewed this fight in HD. There was plenty of video coverage and you are seeing most of it, except you cant slo mo the action. I can see where some people think the left by Eager was a punch to the chest. The reality is that Bieksa was bleeding from the mouth and in slo mo, you CLEARLY see the punch hit him in the mouth. What you are not seeing is how bloodly Bieksa's face was BEFORE he went to the penalty box. IN fact, the United Center cameras picked up the blood on the ice, driving the home fans crazy. In slo mo you also clearly see that Eager slammed his head off the ice and you clearly see Bieksa never connected with a punch. As for Bieksa's "Good Job" comment, you will have to ask him. He was 10 feet in front of me; I know what I saw. The other thing some of you don't realize is that for most of these guys, this is another day at the office. He may have been trying to be sarcastic, but there is no doubt what he said. It's amazing how different things look live compared to poor video quality. I am the guy in the front row with a red Hawks jersey and white hat, this fight was right in front of me and this is what happened: 1. Eager landed a short but very effective left hand that buckled Bieksa 2. Bieksa threw punches but litterally landed nothing 3. The welt on Eagers head he gave to himself. When he lifted Bieksa and threw him to the ice, he hit his own head on the ice. Watch it again. 4. Bieksa was bleeding pretty good from the mouth as the result of the Eager left hand. Bleeding doesn't give you the win, but there is a reason Bieksa went down after taking that punch. 5. Read Bieksas lips on the way to the penalty box. He tells Eager "Good Job". Bottom line, Eager with the win

Posted by mikebflorida on March 30, 2009 at 09:48 AM

Eager pops Beeks flush and cans him. Beeks is pissed and tries to exact some revenge and Eager PLANTS him to the ice with a take down. Win Eager Alex Burrows needs to rot in hell.

Posted by acemtydk on April 01, 2009 at 10:48 PM

Good fight until Eager went WWE on us. No respect!!! Also, Burrows should have been given a double minor for cowardice...err unsportsmanlike conduct. Note to Burrows - please leave the hair pulling to the beer leagues.

Posted by MNBonecrusher on March 30, 2009 at 11:33 AM

Eager with the win. I still can't get over the hair pulling!! How can ANYBODY call themselves a fan of that punk burrows? What a DISGRACE!!!

Posted by Towmater on March 30, 2009 at 12:07 AM

Eager gets the win with one big punch, the Canucks are pussies

Posted by Riley32 on March 31, 2009 at 06:06 AM

how bout that punk bieksa swinging at a downed eager after getting popped. that should be a suspension in my opinion. hes a lil bitch.

Posted by hal29 on March 31, 2009 at 06:13 PM,your rediculous oh so you know what happened better cause you were there,i'm i highly doubt bieksa said good job,i think that were talking shyt back and don't trealy see to players that respect each other whaling away whne on the ice..oh and i've been to alot of hockey games and trust me unless your eager, bieksa,or the linesman, you can see a fight better on tv then in person

Posted by Awesome-0 on March 29, 2009 at 10:43 PM

As much as I like Bieksa, he's a bit out of his league here and Eager gets the W. What's with Burrows pulling Keith's hair???

Posted by jvwood1 on April 01, 2009 at 03:20 PM

I give Eager the edge and have no respect fo Bieksa. He clearly broke the code and should be required to ante up for it. He lost and he has no code for throwing punches after the other guy was in a really bad place becuase of the linesman. That is just bush. And when did we start pulling hair and trying to mash a guys face into the ice. Another bush move. Very dissappointing...

Posted by dhank on March 30, 2009 at 06:21 PM

hope to see these boys matched up in the playoffs bieksa is out of his weight class but is always a gamer can't wait for round two

Posted by datafortress on March 31, 2009 at 08:45 PM

Eager get's the win with the thundering left. Bieksa get's the BURROWS pussy award for hitting a downed opponent. The Canucks are embarrassing to the entire league. They have a record of signing cowards...RUUTU, COOKE, BUUROWS...etc. The team is bad enough but their fans are complete mental midgets!!!

Posted by vandymeer13 on March 30, 2009 at 03:14 PM

I wish O'Brien would have got hurt when the ref slewfooted him. Talk about a dangerous play when officials act like bad asses on the ice that's when accidents occur. Remember when Tucker got thrown into the box by a linesman and Sandy McCarthy almost fought him.

Posted by TomC8481 on March 30, 2009 at 07:55 PM

Gotta give this one to Eager. He was the only one who both threw and landed anything while both of them were standing. The only reason I don't view that takedown Eager did as dirty was that Bieksa was laying on Eager and throwing punches while he was down on the ice. Man, I can't wait for the playoffs!

Posted by mckendo83 on March 30, 2009 at 10:15 AM

Eager gets the win for dropping him with the left early

Posted by Rebel Banker on March 30, 2009 at 09:47 PM

Posted by itsthizzbaby on March 31, 2009 at 05:52 AM

Bieksa put up a good fight despite having a weight disadvantage as Eager pussied out earlier when O'Brien challenged him. Eager with the win because of the lucky left =).

Posted by Franchise on March 30, 2009 at 10:24 PM

The Nucks won the game, but got F'ing DESTROYED in the fights! Credit to Bieksa for getting up after getting KO'd, but I'll say it here and on the other fight, Burrows is the biggest pu$$y to play for the Nucks, even moreso than Cooke. DESTROYED!

Posted by merle johnson on March 30, 2009 at 03:11 PM

Eager with the knock down and the win...Short ,solid ,left connects on Bieskas chin, and down he went !!!

Posted by Blackhawk23 on March 30, 2009 at 12:48 AM

wow that was sweet i hope these 2 meet in the playoffs. The Hawks have had some problems with the Canucks this year but there games have been physical. I am a big Bieksa fan but eager wins with the knock down at the start and I am not to big on hitting a guy when hes down but these guys just didnt want to stop. Burrows is a nice player to have on your club but the hair pulling is bullsh*t, I hope Burish, Eager or Big Byf get him the next time these teams play. As for everyone talking about Eager being a bum maybe you should watch him play he has scored some timely goals for the hawks this year and thats alot more then most teams can say about there 4th line tough guys.

Posted by tidangles91 on April 01, 2009 at 04:23 PM

u guys dont know anything. first off...chicago's fourth line plays a lot so eager plays way more than 4 minutes a game. eager and burish are easily the hardest working hawks. maybe stop and watch a game. second...eager and obrien were calm just holding eachother then they skated back to the scrum. obrien was then trying to get burish and SEABROOK wrestled him away. then bieska tried to get in there and eager grabbed him and they dropped. bieksa got worked. usually the fight ends when its on the ice. the only reason this continued was cuz bieksa hit a downed fighter. eager then picked him up and slammed him and eager hit is head on the ice..thus the welt. hitting a downed fighter is just as bad as body slamming him u idiots. and listen to all these canucks fans. the hawks are in a slump right now and i can give the canucks credit for being one of the hottest teams in the nhl right now and burying the hawks the last two times. i cant say that that will happen again cuz when the hawks are on their game they r fuckin good. but seriously i highly doubt bieksa would tune up eager. if u were watchin...obrien darted for burish. eager didn't run away from anyone. watch the fuckin video and see that seabrook is all over obrien. and byfuglien skated to the penalty box like he should've cuz it was obvious he knew what he did and did it out of frustration.

Posted by wristshot300 on March 30, 2009 at 12:07 AM

eager easy win, and for all you cancucks fans who think eagers a bitch how about you go fight him cuz hell stand in there with anyone. his not a bum who was avoiding obrien. if you were watching at all seabrook already was holdin on to obrien when eager came in and bieksa was grabbin burish so dont say eagers just lookin for the smaller guy.

Posted by adambomb13 on March 30, 2009 at 04:01 PM

Canuck hockey, hair pulling and punches when the other guy is on the ice. Way to go ladies ! You got the "W" but we kicked your ass. Ben Eagers body slam said it all. Bieksa you are load your mom should have swallowed

Posted by nikcanada on March 30, 2009 at 10:52 PM

Eager was stronger and more aggressive - caught Bieksa with a good shot. Bieska was throwing like a p***y. Don't care for Eager and he beat a bum.

Posted by mbaumann on March 30, 2009 at 12:28 PM

Sorry Brandoo, you are dead wrong Eager is one tough SOB. He beatdown Bieksa here and would do it again any time. Eager has had a good fight year this year. He has been on top of his game. Canuks are biatches.

Posted by Narshk on March 30, 2009 at 01:00 AM

Even fight, but I give the edge to Eager for showing Bieksa his strength via the body slam. Since the refs were tied up with other skirmishes, these two were able to continue fighting even after hitting the ice.

Posted by Gaff73 on March 30, 2009 at 06:29 AM

Eager dropped that fool. Then WWE slammed that fool to the ice to finish him off. Easy win for Eager.

Eager had a good shot to Bieksa's jaw. The bodyslam was pretty funny, but it's one of those things those anti-fighting pansies will rant about.

Posted by crosscheck52 on March 30, 2009 at 06:38 AM

Eager got a legitimate knockdown at the start, but it was a wild one from that point on. I have to give Eager a slight edge.

Posted by pmanster on April 05, 2009 at 08:33 AM

It was a good fight. It would have been closer if Ben Eager had hair for the Canuck player to pull. They are famous for hair pulling and other feminine gestures. Bieska was trying for pubes when the refs fortunately jumped in.

Posted by sasso09 on March 30, 2009 at 11:01 AM

Too short to call the best fight of the year, but for me this was the mos entertaining fight of the year to watch, eagar gets the clear win, but credit bieska for coming back after getting essentially KO'd

Posted by teamreno on March 30, 2009 at 02:48 PM

Close fight, edge Eager but the slam to the ice was pretty lame. I am sure that's why Bieksa was punching him when they were down. With all the controversy over helmets and fighting, you'd think a guy wouldn't be such a douche bag.

Posted by PornStache on March 30, 2009 at 01:50 AM

Bieksa is a douche. He got his ass lifted and slammed down on this one. I thought that was the funniest part of this. He got lit up and made himself look stupid.

Posted by ogie ogiltorpe on March 30, 2009 at 06:14 PM

Wow! i hope these teams meet in the playoffs! This had it all! Cheap shot on goalie (Byfuglien), WWF wrestling and bodyslammin (Eager-Bieksa), Hair pullin' (Burrows), and peacemaking (Seabrook).....and to the, Burish doesn't need to get over to Burrows and Keith because that's called 3rd man in........with accompanying penalties, misconducts and suspension...sheesh! While I agree the hair pulling is is punching a star goalie in the face when he makes a save...Byfuglien started the whole thing and got off scot-free.....can't wait for the playoffs!

Posted by adivinity on March 30, 2009 at 10:21 AM

Ben Eager DOMINATES. Usually I'm not big on take downs but Eager went WWF on Bieska @ 1:11.

Posted by mwags on June 06, 2009 at 03:08 AM

eager wins early

Posted by orginalsix on March 30, 2009 at 10:49 PM

Eager wins the bout, but give Bieksa huge credit for fighting someone 30 lbs heavier, and coming back strong even when he gets knocked down and thrown (which is class-less, when you outweigh a guy by 30 lbs). He is tough. Eager gets no credit for doing nothing when locked with Sean O'Brien, who is in his weight class. But, when O'Brien gets locked with Seabrook and the referree, Eager makes a bee-line for the much smaller Bieksa. Gutless...

Posted by Bonesaw on March 29, 2009 at 11:10 PM

I don't think this was as one sided as some would say. I give the W to Bieksa because about all Eager landed was that one punch (which Bieksa recovered from right away), and then he went for the ass grab and still ended up underneath a ton of Bieksa shots.

Posted by Josh Mc on March 31, 2009 at 11:38 AM

for the chicago fans, if you watch again, the replay near the end, eager punches bieksa in the chest. If there was a rematch bieksa would kiss his ass

Posted by eastvanbc on April 09, 2009 at 05:44 AM

Ben Eager the pussy didn't wanna fight SOB cause he knew he'd get his ass kicked. So he jumps a player smaller than him from behind and scraps him. Guess the only thing he didn't realize is the Juice is pretty tough.

Posted by jmackisback on March 30, 2009 at 04:13 PM

Some of you clowns need to get your vision checked. Kevin had his own jersey clouding his vision as a glancing blow set him off balance. Then the ogre Eager decides to turn it into an MMA match with a double leg takedown...what a scrub. Draw in a match where one opponent outweighs the other by 30 lbs.

Posted by junghyun87 on March 30, 2009 at 12:50 AM

eager tackling bieksa? what an ass fighter ,, he doesnt kno how to fight

Posted by runky on March 30, 2009 at 09:40 PM

Eager's a bum that plays four minutes a game. He landed a glancing blow that was more a slip than anything. The MMA pick up type move at the end was a joke ala Sean Avery. Bieksa is a tough kid and a really solid defenseman. Draw.

Posted by knuckleballs on April 01, 2009 at 05:54 PM

Byfuglien is an Idiot and should have had is ass pounded into the ice. not a fan of either Team but the cheap shot on the goalie was a puss move and the Hair Pulling fights that followed were an embarrassment to Hockey.

Posted by OneTwo on March 30, 2009 at 07:56 PM

it's unfortunate that Kevin caught that left hand early but he kept out muscling Eager and ending up on top to deliver some shots that made the fight really close. PS: "Posted by CHRISNEILNATOR on Mar 29, 2009 at 7:46 PM EAGER KICKED BIEKSAS ASS. I HOPE KEVIN GETS OUT OF THE HOSPITAL SOO. BIEKSA IS NOT A FIGHTER HE IS A JOKE HE ONLY FIGHTS EUROPEANS WHO CANT FIGHT. I HAVE NEVER SEEN BIEKSA FIGHT ANYONE TOUGH" actually......Kevins fine, he does need new under armour though....silly little girl kept grasping at it while taking punches to the head. and by any means you can't call Bieksa not a fighter when you look at little pussies in the league such as Chris Neil whom you appear to idolize.

Posted by Bahjay on March 30, 2009 at 08:30 PM

Eager Beaver is a douche... didn't want anything to do with O'Brien prior to grabbing Bieksa. Too bad Vigneault didn't send out Hordi after to ragdoll Seabrook or Keith.

Posted by zuey45 on March 30, 2009 at 12:34 AM

who form tackles the opponent in a hockey fight? the tackle is a football move, a good way to get hurt, and shows your too scared to keep throwing. look out for rematch...

Posted by stephenandrobyn on March 31, 2009 at 07:27 AM

Shane O'Brien was trying to get Eager to fight in the beginning, but he wanted nothing to do with him. Then once tempers started flaring, Eager got the jump on Bieksa and started tossing em before Bieksa was even ready to go. Eager lands a shot while Bieksa is all tied up in his jersey. Bieksa gets right back up, ready to go. And instead of trading punches like a man, Eager grabs Bieksa's legs and lifts him in the air. Talk about classless. Moves like this is why some people want to ban fighting in hockey. If the two were to have squared off at centre ice, both ready to go at the same time, Bieksa would have beat Eager like a red-headed step child.

Posted by THINKER on March 30, 2009 at 03:40 AM

The observations below are based on the supplied Comcast highlight package. Eager landed the best shot earlier that seemed to knock down Bieksa. Bieska quickly got back up and was throwing a couple of rabbit punches on Eager who was on his knees. Eager got back up on his skates and grabs Bieksa's thighs and got the takedown. Eager couldn't maintain the dominant position as Bieksa positions himself out of it and gains side control over Eager where he threw two punches to Eager's left armpit area before being intercepted and interrupted by the Referee @ around the 1:15 mark of the video. After viewing the alternative Canadian Rogers Sportsnet feed available at this link: I will amend those comments with the following observations: Bieksa followed up the two (2) right handed punches to Eager's left armpit area with at least four (4) lefts to Eager's forehead which may have opened a cut as it looked very red. This can be seen @ the 5:40 mark of the Rogers Sportsnet video in slo-mo. In summary, Eager scores points with his initial knockdown punch and wrestling takedown (and destruction of Bieksa's Under Armour type clothing ) Bieksa scores points for a quick recovery of the KD and his ability to turn and transition out of the wrestling takedown and assume a dominant position by the end of the fight with side control to unleash at least six unanswered punches to Eager before the Ref and Linesman could intervene and separate him from Eager. In fact it can be argued that the Ref/Linesman prevented Bieksa from landing even more damaging blows than he managed to unleash during the end of the fight. If I were to judge this fight solely via the Comcast highlights, I would give the edge to Eager. BUT after viewing the Rogers highlights which showed more of the fight, at worst I would say it was a draw for Bieksa, while a reasonable case could be made for Bieksa winning as he finished the fight off strong and was in a DOMINANT position before the intervention by the striped shirts.

Posted by canucksflyers13 on August 03, 2011 at 02:08 PM

Bieksa is 25+ lbs lighter than Eager. And Eager can't fight, if you look at any of his videos including this one. Bieksa obviously won it, because he was the first one to walk away, and then Eager got scared so he started chirping behind the refs.

I don't think takedowns count as a win. Eager landed 1 half decent punch, but seemed mostly interested in takedowns than throwing punches. I liked how Bieska kept getting up and was the one trying to throw punches, so he gets the decision for me.

I give this one to bieksa for taking on a guy way bigger than him and coming back and pounding him after taking the vicious shot to the mouth. I give bieksa the win also for almost making all the chicks in chicago faint when they saw him without a shirt hahahaha. Wish Pyatt had got out there and tuned up that bufflin (or buttlovin) douche. Cant wait for next game with these two teams!

Posted by Jesticle on March 30, 2009 at 09:36 PM

Bieksa lost his balance after getting hit in the teeth, then issued a beat down to Eager. Eager tried to pull some UFC bodyslam moves, and ended up getting pounded some more. Win Bieksa.

Eager is nothing special , he got boom boom off gaurd...hopefully these teams will play in the playoffs and bieksa will show him wutsup

Posted by Snowrider on March 29, 2009 at 11:54 PM

Eager is an asshole, that'S it. How could you defend you're mate the #33 for what he does. It like if he cover his friend who's having sex with a 12 years old girl.

Posted by indoblazin on March 30, 2009 at 09:31 AM

Clean striking: Bieksa. Eager landed one heavy blow, Bieksa landed more overall. Landed many more from the mount position displaying positional dominance. Grappling: Edge Bieksa. Clean double-leg takedown by Eager, however two clean reversals by Bieksa gives him the edge. Aggressiveness: Bieksa. Eager starts strong, but after the initial takedown it was all Bieksa. If the ref didn't step in so early Bieksa would've TKO'd him anyways. Overall: Juice, by unanimous decision. Can't wait to see the rematch. See ya in round one 'Hawks.

Ben are you scared of O'Brien?

Posted by rmhc on March 30, 2009 at 12:19 AM

Eager gets a good left in but Bieksa bounces right back and gets on top of Eager to throw some punches - edge Bieksa Eager tries to wrestle (boo!) and again Bieksa gets on top, the ref comes in - edge Bieksa Then Bieksa gets in one more hit at 1:38 - Bieksa Win.

eager got lucky bieska had his arm tied up i wanna see a rematch bieska will win

Posted by Broism on March 30, 2009 at 04:26 PM

Bieksa was hit from behind, put in a choke hold, tangled up and still managed to man handle Eager. Bieksa for the win, cant wait for a fair bout!

Posted by Canuck-orama on March 30, 2009 at 07:10 PM

This was an awesome line brawl. O'brien was really mad and wanted to kill Burish. As for the Bieksa-Eager bout, Bieksa clearly won. All you people who thought Eager won...well you have no clue what your talking about because Eager only really got in one good punch and the rest was all Bieksa.

Posted by oltimehockey on March 30, 2009 at 09:00 PM

Eager lands two short shots before the jaw dropper. So what is up with the poor VC display of hitting guys on the ice and hair pulling? That is not ole time hockey.

Posted by vintage44 on March 30, 2009 at 10:42 PM

wannagoagain ??? You cant tell on this vid feed , but seeing how you were at the game you should know that the eager punch that ' buckled Bieksa ' didnt even connect with his face. Bieksa took that punch in chest. If a guy gets buckled he doesnt get up that fast and continue to throw and defend himself

Posted by johnnyvancouver on March 30, 2009 at 11:11 AM

Bieksa gets popped but comes back with some fire= Draw

Ben Eager is a moron. First gets Bieksa from behind, then body slams him into the ice, no wonder people are hitting there head on the ice, when you have idiots like this on the ice.

Posted by Cherndig on March 30, 2009 at 12:29 AM

Ben easliy makes Bieksa his bitch. All you Nucks fans your over rated D-man got worked. Doesn't matter who's fighting hitting a guy on the ice is guttless. KB knew his ass was gettin beat and did the low move of hittin a downed fighter.

Posted by azjim on March 30, 2009 at 04:47 AM

I don't give credit for punching a guy who is already on the ice, even if the puncher was quicker to his feet than the other guy. I'd be interested to know just how Bieksa was able to get his right out of his sweater so fast. And by the way, Bieksa and Eager already paired off before O'Brian got into the picture.

Posted by sandals on July 08, 2015 at 10:08 PM

I give the nod to Eager, but anytime Alex Burrows gets his ass handed to him is a good day for the world.

Posted by illukka on March 30, 2009 at 01:22 AM

wow almost a line brawl, win eager in a too short bout.. this had the makings of a classic

Posted by marinermoose38 on March 30, 2009 at 07:35 PM

Eager ABSOLUTELY DRILLS Bieksa with a left and down went Bieksa! All these Canucks involved are spineless bi***es! See Bieksa, Burrows, O'Brien. Just CLASSLESS. And they lose every fight in this one too (and not many on the year)

Posted by jcstokes on March 31, 2009 at 07:58 AM

Vancouver lost all the fights tonight. First Eager with the knockdown, then the hair pulling. Good stuff.

Posted by tomales2 on March 30, 2009 at 02:43 AM

Where were the Hanson brothers?

Posted by ianneitzke on April 01, 2009 at 12:50 AM

Eager - that fist in the jaw and the lifting slam to the ice was awesome. Eager looks like a bad ass with that shaved head. As for Burrows: Pulling hair is for women.

Posted by BroadnPattison1 on March 30, 2009 at 04:01 PM

Eager with the win. Nice UFClike takedown. Whats with the clown pulling hair.. embarassing

Posted by Rex from MN on March 30, 2009 at 02:51 PM

I thought Eager kept trying for takedowns while Bieska tried to get them both back up to fight. = Win for Bieska, and kind of legitimizes the shots while down since Eager kind of asked for that.

Posted by Capslock17 on April 01, 2009 at 07:33 PM

I'm pretty sure I've seen that takedown at 1:10 in the UFC or WWF

Posted by Blackhawk16 on March 29, 2009 at 10:57 PM

Eager with the easy win...nice hair pulling by the way.

Posted by Moose7602 on March 31, 2009 at 01:36 AM

Nice double leg take down! High School wrestling in Chicago

Posted by goody72 on July 25, 2009 at 03:29 AM

Great short left by Eager. He gets the win.

Posted by AlMan42 on March 01, 2012 at 09:18 PM

No contest here, Eager owned him.

Posted by BigBadBruins68 on March 30, 2009 at 03:02 PM

Talk about old time hockey! That was just a brawl. Eager with the win.

Posted by knuckleup14 on March 30, 2009 at 08:37 PM

first. obrien. your a piece of shit. coming from behind. your a disgrace. your fights suck. your not a legitimate heavyweight. you refuse to fight a legit heavyweight. get out of this sport you pussy. okay. to the real fight. shuda settled it with dustin b later, there would have been more time. eager dropped bieska iwth a great punch, then throws him as bieska is a headcase. bieska has NO CLASSS, when a PLAYER IS DOWN, YOU STOP THROWING. good enery though. eager made me extremely happy, trying to break through the linesmen, reminds you of teh grim reaper back in the olddays

Posted by lurch420 on March 30, 2009 at 10:13 PM

I was at the game. The fight happened right in front of me. Eager dropped him with a left, then threw him around like a rag doll.

Posted by HerbRaglan on March 30, 2009 at 01:21 AM

finally a real line brawl with anger! I hope the powers that be saw how happy the fans were!

Posted by stiri on March 30, 2009 at 04:05 AM

Better hits by Eager, great fight

It's kind of hard to see on youtube, but it was really obvious on tv. After the fight Eager had that huge red welt on his head. Bieksa didn't even have a scratch on him, Eager just tried to tear his clothes off.

Posted by JDubJones on April 01, 2009 at 03:22 PM

Bieksa defaults. Eager gets the DQ for the lame-ass pants grab/MMA style take down. Looks awesome, but has no place in a hockey fight. Almost as bad as Burrows pulling hair.

Posted by Rick16 on March 30, 2009 at 08:08 PM

terrible camera work... they failed to show how bieksa wanted to fight eager for about 10 seconds and then right when he turned his back to see what was going on eager grabbed him from behind as for burrows, him and crosby obviously went to the same school of pussy fighting evidently there are a lot of idiot hawks homers here that cheer for goofs like eager, byfuglien, and burish hopefully keith gets revenge on burrows, and bieksa takes eager in round 2

Posted by vangodard28 on January 04, 2011 at 04:13 AM

Eager got the first punch but then couldn't control Bieksa after that... Edge Bieksa.
