hey just because the announcer thinks Lappy won doesnt mean he won . DRAW

Posted by mikebflorida on March 28, 2008 at 09:27 AM

If you believe the announcer, it's a win for Ian, if you are not a homer moron, it's a draw. Cowan 1st half, Ian 2nd half. Ok fight. DRAW

Posted by goaliefighter on March 27, 2008 at 07:41 PM

Draw here. Leaning on a fighter does not get you a win. Cowan early, Lappy later. Draw.

Posted by razor 32 on March 28, 2008 at 05:30 AM

I'm not sure how 75% of you think that Laperriere won that fight? I guess just cause they only focused on the fight to his punches up close, no one saw Cowan hit him 6 to 8 times before they did zoom in. Draw.

Posted by wildonefan on March 27, 2008 at 04:10 PM

Both guys threw a flurry of punches. I have to go with the draw on this one..

Posted by 2001GT on March 28, 2008 at 07:29 PM

I call draw.....but I also dont think ive ever seen Cowan win a tussle. Cowan and Stortini should go to Boogey mans fight school this summer...

Posted by dromano13 on March 28, 2008 at 05:06 PM

Cowan landed way more early. This is clearly a Cowan win. (for a change)

Posted by StarsFan9 on March 27, 2008 at 03:35 PM

Let's see... Cowan throws 8 straight punches to start the fight, several looked to land, and Lappy throws 4 punches, 3 or which definitely did not land and then leans on the guy to get him down to the ice. And the win goes to Lappy? Get a clue, people. Just because you don't like a guy doesn't mean he loses every fight he gets in. Cowan with the edge here.

Posted by randerson on March 27, 2008 at 08:46 PM

if you actually watch the fight before it zooms in, you can see Cowan landed way more punches.

Posted by trpaulson on March 29, 2008 at 11:54 AM

LaPuke finally won a fight. Amazing. Has Cowan ever been in a fight in his life?

Posted by Behn Wilson on March 29, 2008 at 09:57 AM

Cowan started well, Laperriere finished well. Not sure what, if anything dropped him.

Posted by The Peach on March 27, 2008 at 03:54 PM

remember glass joe from punch out? i like cowan's game. he's a hardnosed guy and a good forechecker. a fighter, however, he is not.

Posted by irishboybrian on March 28, 2008 at 12:06 AM

I'm not sure I care yet? Give me a moment please

Posted by Gunslinger on March 28, 2008 at 12:00 AM

Cowan is the only fighter worse than Stortini. He started out okay but once Lappy started to fight back Cowan dropped and looked like he was begging for mercy.

Posted by Uncle Paulie on March 28, 2008 at 12:25 AM

This ended exactly as expected - with Cowan on his knees, begging for his mommy. Obvious win Laperriere. Too bad Godard didn't have a chance to take his head off a couple of nights earlier, before the ref's sent them packing. You suck, Cow.

Posted by ibled4theusa on March 27, 2008 at 07:43 PM

What happened Jeff? Broken hand? Started well and then went Euro. Lappy wins!

Posted by madnilskillz on March 27, 2008 at 01:35 PM

beat down?? Lmao..he barely won ..that's barely a fight let alone a beat down

Posted by Bear72 on March 27, 2008 at 02:51 PM

After this year and all the beatings like this one Cowan has to hang em up last several fights have been verry lopsided for cowan getiing his ass handed to him

Posted by Godly_goon on March 27, 2008 at 09:05 PM

cowan is a disspaointment to the league i hope he dies im going to kill him dont telll ne one

Posted by Harley306 on March 27, 2008 at 07:18 PM

Cowan has not won all year!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by joeyspop on March 28, 2008 at 08:17 AM

good start no finish for cowan..............

Posted by Sasky001 on March 27, 2008 at 03:31 PM

Have to give the win to Laperriere because Cowan turtled at the end.

Posted by Dampland on March 29, 2008 at 12:30 AM

Cowan gets his butt whooped AGAIN!

Posted by Boogeyman2383 on March 27, 2008 at 10:29 PM

I tell Cowan the same thing i tell Stortini. Learn how to fight. Easy win for Laperrriere

Posted by SirYohans on March 27, 2008 at 12:54 PM

Slight Win For Lappy For The So-Called "Beatdown."

Posted by MNBonecrusher on March 27, 2008 at 09:37 PM

Come on Vancouver fans, get REAL!! This was far from a "beat down" like numbnuts the annoncer said, but Cowan still lost! He was hurt at the end, not leaned on, or resting, or anything other than what he was, HURT!

Posted by Ragtop1day on March 27, 2008 at 08:04 PM

Lap looked good

Posted by moneybags on March 30, 2008 at 08:10 AM

jeffrery i admire the heart but you should find another hobby. you are now 2and 12 for the year

Posted by Humper on March 27, 2008 at 09:00 PM

Yes Cowan threw a few punches at the start. Yes Cowan threw more than Lappy in total. Yes, maybe Cowan was "leaned on". But Cowan also got pummeled with some superior shots, he DID go down, and then he turtled. Gotta be win Lapierre. But no beatdown.

Posted by claire alexande on March 27, 2008 at 12:39 PM

Easy win for middleweight Laperriere. Why does Cowan even bother? Even more amusing was the way the little d*rtbag b*tch Burrows ran away from Ryan Smyth, not exactly a titleholder. Burrows has always been a joke, but now he's an embarrassment to his teammates.

Posted by V_Nucks on March 29, 2008 at 03:43 PM

I am a canucks fan but i cant stand cowan he wins maybe one fight a year , he is terrible

Posted by warhero on March 27, 2008 at 06:03 PM

Cowan got the early punchesbut it looked like Laperriere hurt him with the second punch because he collapsed a little bit.

Posted by thepolishkid88 on March 27, 2008 at 01:03 PM

Cowan had the early edge but man did Laperriere rally! slight edge to Laperriere.

Posted by Spanky_Jazz on March 28, 2008 at 12:53 AM

Mack Seaton: Note this is a TSN broadcast, therefore it is not the Colorado home announcers. I was watching Colorado's home feed at the time, and the home announcer for the Avs wasn't as generous. However, Lappy did hand it to Cowan here.

Posted by Juha82 on March 29, 2008 at 10:55 AM

Lappy got the edge/narrow win because of the end, no more words from me at this time.

Posted by ShuterMcGav on March 27, 2008 at 12:51 PM

Cowan early with a couple that didn't look to land, Lappy late with a better flurry of punches. Edge Lappy

Posted by BsFAn4LIF on March 27, 2008 at 09:43 PM

Decent bout. Laperriere landed a bunch of nice throws. No Contest on this one, Laperriere the win

Posted by STL13 on March 27, 2008 at 09:45 PM

One of the reason this website is starting to SUCK! "Posted by Godly_goon on Mar 27, 2008 at 8:05 PM cowan is a disspaointment to the league i hope he dies im going to kill him dont telll ne one 1.) Death Threats? 2.) This guy can't spell and thinks he isn't a dissaappaoinntmentt (sic) to this website. What in the hell's going on with these idiots?

Posted by crazybubs on March 31, 2008 at 01:26 PM

cowan early, lappy finished strong.

Posted by barnibizer on March 27, 2008 at 02:58 PM

Win COWAN...maybe a draw...where the fuck do people get win Lappy??!! Not 1 of his punched landed...then he just leaned on Cowan at the end. Cowan's early punches(altho the camera was far away) looked to land. Its about time every1 left Cowan alone. He is tough and he's a swinger. Yeah he loses fights. WHo cares...he fights.

Posted by azjim on April 01, 2008 at 12:38 AM

Cowan landed more early than Laperriere did late. No, I'm not a Canuck fan.

Posted by Mack Seaton on March 27, 2008 at 07:35 PM

Come on folks, don't let the idiot homer announcer convince you, you're smarter than that. There was no "beatdown" there.

Posted by ROCK HAWK on March 27, 2008 at 03:54 PM

hahaha..WOW. Not sure whos worse , Cowan or that announcer ..Laperriere puts a "beatdown"on him ?? huh?? lol I think Cowan beat himself down pretty much. Yeah, Lappy was throwing..but what punch put Cowan down ?? He hit him in the shoulder pad.. The guy is laughable and needs to quit ,like bam932 said. Laperriere made to look good here by a horrible fighter -I gave the W to Laperriere even though Cowan landed better. Umm..is that possible? OK..a couple ppl say Laperierre leaned on him at the end..I dont really see it like that. Looks like he just finally started throwing and Cowan just crumbles...weak weak stuff. Granted Cowan took the lead but when you go down and give up when the other guy throws its kinda hard to win.

Posted by bam932 on March 27, 2008 at 12:52 PM

For all their trying, I don't think I've ever seen Cowan or Stortini win a fight. For their own safety (and pride) maybe they should just stop altogether.
