Good to see Brown hold his own against a much bigger guy. He takes this one.

The bout was non existant but my reason for comment is on the announcers saying that the ref could have made a call for boarding. I am not a fan of either team. The very idea that the hit may have been illegal is absurd. This is the type of crap that makes the NHL boring. The hit was clean and there was no boarding. Pretty soon any contact will be a penalty.

I voted a draw. The shirts went over too soon.

I am a Blue Jackets fan and I thought the hit was legal. Klesa was just bent over enough that his ribs hit the edge of the boards in the wrong way. I'm surprised the LA Kings broadcasters were saying it could have been called boarding.

Big dude, Big win

Svitov won dont care what u say He brought brown to a knee ya brown had a few god hits while svitovs jersey was over his head but svitov had him beat right from the beginning

I like the scene when both players can´t see anything^^ I think it was a good revenge of svitov for brown´s check before. svitov wins

Brown gets the nod. Nice tussle between the two. How often do you see two guys wtith their jerseys over their heads. I thought it was a pretty good check.

These anouncers are [email protected]#king idiots. You can get a boarding penalty for use excessive force on a body check? What a bunch of jackasses!

Looks like this might be Svitovs first loss of the season

Posted by lakingsfan19 on March 19, 2007 at 01:31 AM

brown all the way.. not sure who the idiots were that were saying svitov won yesterday in the forums... Those people must be stupid.. clear win for brown..

Posted by Angel of Sin on March 19, 2007 at 09:20 PM

Svitov is much larger and dominated originally even though his first 6 punches didn't land. The reason I voted Brown was he landed a pretty good shot at the 1:00 mark of the clip.

Looked like a legal check. Svitov was just in stepping up to Brown. If he didnt Brown probably would get drilled next shift anyway.

Posted by Six on March 20, 2007 at 03:25 PM

svitov suckered brown and brown came back and fed the much bigger svitov.

Posted by spudboy on March 19, 2007 at 12:42 AM

So you can't hit a guy from the side, a half second after gets rid of the puck? C'mon.

Posted by hockeymariner88 on March 19, 2007 at 01:14 AM

Svitov never even really landed a punch. Brown landed 5 or 6 while Svitov's jersey was over his head and that last one almost knocked Svitov off his feet. Win to Brown.

Downtown Dustin Brown with a crushing victory. For his first real fight of the season (and as a typical non-fighter) I would say he preformed really well. This guy takes the body like no one else. He's only good thing about the Kings this season. And who cares about what the announcers say? No boarding penalty called.

Posted by hrbekroenick on March 19, 2007 at 11:41 AM

Brownie is the man. I don't think Jim Fox was saying that it warranted a penalty, rather that it gets called that way sometimes when there is a big boom and a guy goes down.

Pretty good check i thought. Props to Svitov for making Brown answer but in the end Brown got the best of this one

Posted by snowave on March 20, 2007 at 02:45 AM

brown is indeed quite a guy. Not that big, but he always seems to hold his own, if not more.. nto to mention, he can hit with the best of them. Brown gets the win in this one by a decent margin.

Posted by DarkCanuk on March 19, 2007 at 09:30 PM

what the [email protected]#% are these announcers thinking...clean hit if ive ever seen one...upper hand to brown...terribley outsized in the fight

Posted by Jmfightnight19 on March 22, 2007 at 05:46 PM

Svitov is a coward for going in stick up

Posted by Juha82 on February 21, 2010 at 03:08 AM

EDGE Brown for landing bigger shots and more. Close fight still.

Good Comeback win By Brown.

Posted by bigd071 on March 25, 2007 at 04:06 PM

Hard check on Klesla by Brownie... what else is new. Svitov comes and and TRIES to stand-up for his teammate, gets beaten by a smaller man.

Posted by BrownBomber on March 19, 2007 at 01:28 AM

Dustin Brown gets the BrownBomber award. That guy has been knocking opposing players around like crazy since becoming a King. This time he pounds Svitov despite his shirt being pulled over his head. I wish Brown's punches were as devastating as his hits.

Posted by boycew39 on March 19, 2007 at 04:41 PM

I voted for a draw because both guys got in some good punches but neither really stood out as a clear winner.

Posted by mundonyc13 on March 19, 2007 at 12:44 PM

Boarding??

Posted by okie on March 19, 2007 at 09:24 PM

Pretty hilarious fight. I don't think I've ever seen both fighters with their jerseys over their head at the same time. I think Brown should fight with his jersey over his head more often. He clearly landed more punches with sweater in his face than without.

Posted by mikebflorida on March 18, 2007 at 11:40 PM

That was pretty funny with the jerseys over both players heads. What isn't funny was the hit. I call that one a lot cleaner than Hollweg on Simon but still questionable, player dumps the puck and gets hit from the blind side, he is vulnerable and thats why players are getting hurt all the time.
