Gleason screwed himself by stirring it up and then waiting too long to engage. Glass fast out of the box once a fight was inevitable. Gleason's slowness to actually drop the gloves after initiating the fight cost him some blood and stitches.

Glass clearly won the fight. Of course, it is hard to lose a fight when you punch your opponent 4 times before he drops gloves.

Glass got the jump and landed a few big shots all over after that.

Posted by Titzmgee on May 07, 2015 at 11:00 AM

Glass gave him a beating. That was awesome

Two tough guys decide to dance and we're not disappointed. Gleason was asking Glass to go and the decision was made in a blink of an eye! Both men land some punches but Glass busts Gleason up a bit and takes this spirited scrap.

Tanner shredded Gleason

Posted by mikebflorida on May 07, 2015 at 09:51 AM

Finally a decent fight in the playoffs. Glass gets the better of it.

Posted by mpagano22 on May 08, 2015 at 11:59 AM

Glass gave my boy the beat down. I love seeing Glass go after anyone but Wilson. Let's see if Glass has the balls to tangle with Wilson?????

Posted by boldbilly on May 07, 2015 at 08:13 PM

Gleason took a fleecin......Tanners glass was more than half full as he takes the opportunity to pour it on ....all over Gleason ....ouch...that'll leave a mark Glass

Called it last time -- Gleason's game but Glass is a better fighter.

Posted by dcmac on May 21, 2015 at 09:26 AM

Called this a draw. Good to see a couple athletes show some spirit in a very meaningful game. This season has clearly shown the direction of our sport in the fighting department. Also glad the zebras let the two fight it out. Looked like Gleason was surprised the Zebras did not step in, he took several for that mistake Funny how a fight like this is a big deal this season where as two years ago it wouldn't have been much of a fight. This year a 7 in my book, because of the play-off spirit. Three seasons ago it would have been a 4.

Glass smokes Gleason. May be next game...Wilson will look Glass up. Gleason has never been much of a fighter. He was reacting to a really chippy play by Sheppard when Glass jump into the party. I don't mind this at all. There needs to be a lot more of it. There are a lot liberties taken in play-offs with no responses. Bettman and sissymen need to butt out and turn the game back over to the old time hockey crowd. It will be fun to watch Washington and Tampa. Yzerman has buit a team like Holland...really soft except for Callahan and Stamkos and they are both too small to deal with the big boys.

Gleason has always been willing to drop the gloves. Problem is.... He cant fight. So Im not surprised or impressed in the least that Glass cleaned his clock. Glass proved his point in spades. Whats surprising is Glass taking that extra (cheap) shot when the linesmen steps in & basically had them broken up. That was the shot that opened the 2nd gash. That being said. We need to see more of this in the PO's.

Sucker punched

Posted by IrishWristwatch on May 07, 2015 at 10:57 PM

Glass won easily. Gleason's just lucky he didn't get hit more

Glass shatters Gleason in a pretty good scrap.... finally

Posted by orland on May 07, 2015 at 10:04 AM

Glass dominated from the get go. Actually opened Gleason up during the first flurry - cut noticeable. Kudos to Gleason for hanging in there but it made the beating worse as he never went down. I think Glass was remembered a game near the end of the season when Gleason was running around cheap shotting Rangers and playing the tough guy. What goes around comes around.

Posted by mister Wensink on May 08, 2015 at 12:59 AM

I guess Gleason didn't learn from his fight with Tanner. He went into the scrum bopping guys and when he started this one he couldn't finish it. Good thing the linemen stepped or Timmy would have been in even worse shape.

Posted by sndaysnipr on May 06, 2015 at 11:35 PM

Ass woopin to Gleason and probably a nice scar from Glasses hands.

Posted by kpdrummer82 on May 07, 2015 at 11:20 AM

Glass got him, and got him good. Feel bad for Gleason's head this morning after.

Posted by DaniNYR on May 08, 2015 at 05:11 PM

Redemption for Tanner! Gleason got a little help from his teammates in their first fight this year, which gave him a slight upper hand....even tho Tanner got the best of Gleason once it was just one on one. Tanner was exactly what the Rangers needed, a little muscle! Nice job, Tanner!

Posted by citizenrich on May 09, 2015 at 07:32 PM

Game 82 revenge. Glass rearranged Gleason's face.

Posted by ghjkfdhgfd on May 06, 2015 at 11:52 PM

great fight

Posted by usedtolikefla on May 06, 2015 at 10:44 PM

Gleason is a big boy.. He shoved Glass first and Tanner wasted no time pumping that eye shut. Gleason will look like he's been through a war for Friday's game.

Posted by pope414 on May 07, 2015 at 08:29 PM

Wtf?? If you voted for Gleason you should lose your right to vote!

Posted by Viper207 on May 28, 2015 at 05:33 AM

Win for Glass, but I'm glad to see the Capitals have a tougher line-up for this year. A huge negative goes out to the announcers for crapping on the only bit of physicality we've seen so far.

Posted by Big_Fat_Dan on May 07, 2015 at 01:51 AM

Glass really went to town on Gleason, love the playoff passion

Posted by kkdowning on May 08, 2015 at 09:53 AM

In a classic example of you snooze, you loose -- Gleason does not show up for the punches on time and Glass roughs him up. Interested to see if Wilson goes after Glass Friday night in NYC

Posted by English_Bruin on May 07, 2015 at 10:05 AM

Its been so quiet on here I thought the season ended :o Rangers man won

Posted by Mansa on May 13, 2015 at 12:52 PM

Glass clear winner here, but the cheap shot at the end was too much.

Posted by DARCY T on October 01, 2015 at 11:24 AM

rematch of the last fight of the regular season from about month glass

Posted by retired2006 on May 07, 2015 at 03:10 PM

Both landed a couple, Glass did more damage, connected with the bigger shots, not sure why anyone would vote for Gleason

Posted by Cruncher on August 18, 2015 at 12:20 AM

Gleason was running Rangers in previous match, after this one, he was running to the Docs office! All Glass

Posted by lonegoose on May 14, 2015 at 08:35 AM

Gleason "shredded"...LOL

Posted by the kid 61 on May 07, 2015 at 06:34 PM

When your first name is tanner you better know how to fight. Tim looked like jackie gleason in this fight.

Posted by Joel19691 on May 06, 2015 at 11:23 PM

Gleason throwing punches with his eyes closed, Glass with the win.

Posted by Hkmert1 on May 07, 2015 at 08:22 AM

Rangers still suck

Posted by GB0914 on May 06, 2015 at 10:38 PM

Gleason was demolished. Big difference when that bitch Laich isn't holding Glass's arm.

Posted by bobowen34 on May 07, 2015 at 07:17 AM

Glass with the win. I hate the national feed crew for announcing and for their TV work on this exchange.

Posted by clarkpk1 on May 07, 2015 at 10:05 AM

Glass stepped forward like a shining beacon of hope, landing 4 punches before his opponent could even drop his gloves. Inspired by this act of sheer courage, his team found the strength to carry on losing like they have done so well against the obviously inferior Capitals. The Capitals and their fans simply had no will to continue after this. Well played, Tanner.

Posted by otto449 on May 07, 2015 at 08:43 AM

Right, and the referee holding Gleason while Glass got in his best punch didn't help matters. It was that one that really opened up TG. Punk move IMO. Glass had already won the fight. Have some class.

Posted by Oswegofightfan on May 07, 2015 at 11:00 AM

Clarckpk is an idiot, obvious I know. First Gleason throws a weak ass punch atGGlass, that's why he got his ass swooped. Glass went over to calm it down, till Gleason went hard and started something he couldn't finish. And yes you are right though, the Caps are inferior.

Two tough competitors in a good battle. Glass with an easy win and cutting Gleason over the eye and cheek.

A couple of gamers go at it with Glass getting the decisive victory

Posted by TrueBlue16 on May 07, 2015 at 10:35 PM

Glassy mcglass good strong fight by glass, one of the best showing I've seen from him against a tough customer

Posted by martinhickey on May 07, 2015 at 09:02 AM

This fight was payback for Glass getting whipped by Gleaso a few weeks ago. Tim held back because why ruin a 1 goal lead in a playoff game. Gleaso may be bruised and look like he's been through a war for Friday's game, but he is smiling in the mirror today, and I am too. It is written....

Posted by scooterwest on May 07, 2015 at 10:56 AM

You can tune a piano and apparently you can tune a Gleason too.

Posted by jcstokes on May 07, 2015 at 12:15 PM

Love the whinny cap fans. Cheapest team in the playoffs. No neck trotz sends his players out for the hunt. Glass gave gleason a whippin. BOOM. Should have smacked someone down sooner. A WHIPPIN.
