Good clean hit leads to a good fight. Weber probably won the fight but Landeskog gets max kudos for the hit and going toe to toe with Weber. Don't understand why good clean hits leads to a fight.

At first I was going to be funny and joke how Landeskog dominated even though I was going to say at the end "just kidding webber won" Now looking at just punches landed, yeah webber won. I look at the context of the fight though. He had prime positioning for the first 3 hits grabbing landeskog and hiding him up against the boards as he was just getting back on his skates. I'm not counting that cheap crap. After the initial couple as landeskog freed himself and there was a short pause is where it was truly a fair fight. In that series I have to say it's a draw. Much as I hate colorado and cheap-play Landeskog and like webber. P.S. In this case it wasn't a cheap hit. You people who scream "he didn't have the puck" must think he could have noticed and stopped his momentum and the hit in less than half a second. Quit watching slow-mo and mistaking it for the actual spead.

Scrappin' Captains! Landeskog starts this off with a great clean hit Weber was no fan of this and thought he would probably mop the ice with the young SWEDISH captain Apparently Weber never saw the Landeskog-Ladd fight.. I don't know what Landeskog did in the off season to become a good fighter But maaaan I wish more captains would do it Great entertaining scrap Both guys were pissed and they were swinging for the fences That's the way NHL fights should be

Love captain battles. Landy with a huge hit. Weber comes over and they go at it. Probably an edge to Weber even though he got the Gary Bettman hat trick for his efforts. Man, Landeskog could've went tournament style and fought Weber, Gaustad, Nystrom if he truly wanted to Nice to see Nashville stick together I guess. Win Weber & 6

Posted by bspray on February 24, 2015 at 10:34 PM

The quick response by Weber came because Colorado (Downie) went high on Josi last year and put him out for over a month with a concussion. Looks like Landeskog got the message. Solid scrap by these two - Weber wins the decision,. It wasn't a dominating win but it wasn't all that close either.

@pattypred go watch some basketball or soccer if you do not want to see somebody hit somebody else. There was a reason for Landeskog to deliver a clean, shoulder to shoulder hit on Josi... it is called hockey. There is nothing wrong with what Landeskog did. I am a fan of both Weber and Landeskog, but you should not be so proud of Weber, who is a great hitter himself, if you are going to criticize Landeskog for delivering a clean hit especially considering the Weber Zetterberg incident.

Posted by dwiegand91 on February 25, 2015 at 10:14 AM

Good to see Weber stepping up for his teammate! I would have to say this is a draw, both landed solid hits and held their own.

Here come the Zebra's right when things get interesting.

Posted by nait on February 24, 2015 at 10:30 PM

clean hit but don't blame Weber for getting in there

Posted by no123one on February 24, 2015 at 09:21 PM

Easy Win for Weber.

Posted by rocky 1 on February 26, 2015 at 06:32 PM

clearly Weber wins this fight but Koodos to Landeskog for not turtleing!

Posted by bigmike53 on February 25, 2015 at 01:15 AM

Captain my Captain! Great hit by the Avs captain gets this scrap started. This spirited battle of team leaders is ultimately won by Weber.

Posted by Prustifarian on March 28, 2017 at 10:08 PM

No way that hit is clean. He came in with his arm high. Weber gets extra points for not putting up with that ****

Posted by jedi17 on February 25, 2015 at 06:53 PM

Just love hockey now! Cant even throw a hit without being attacked by a guy wearing a visor before you even know whats happening!

Welcome to the new NHL...clean hits lead to fights....NHL better do something soon

Posted by Eesposito on February 25, 2015 at 04:53 AM

Landeskog didnĀ“t really got a chance because Weber was all over him before Gabriel was aware of that a fight should take place.

Posted by Anan0201 on February 24, 2015 at 11:05 PM

Stupid penalty on Weber for instigating, clean hit by Landeskog. Nashville was luck the 17mins Weber was in the box didn't hurt them.

Posted by DARCY T on March 09, 2015 at 06:30 AM

great angry fight between 2 captains following huge hit...i love it...draw and 7

Posted by rafterman191 on March 01, 2015 at 03:44 PM

Sometimes you win by just being willing to fight.

Posted by Clowes ABeast29 on February 25, 2015 at 12:56 PM

Wow I thought landeskog was going to get mirked Did pretty good actually but edge weber

Posted by johnnyrock555 on February 25, 2015 at 05:01 PM

Weber may have won the fight but Colorado got 5 minutes with our Weber and that is far more important to the outcome of the game.

Posted by Richterfan on February 25, 2015 at 07:19 PM

Effing instigator penalty. Promoting dirty play since 1991.

Posted by cutlass on February 25, 2015 at 03:03 PM

Captains doing what they're supposed to. Weber obvioiusly the stronger and the better fighter, Landeskog holds his own and wins respect, and Josi gets a lesson in keeping his head up. Win, win, win.

Posted by Humper on February 24, 2015 at 09:40 PM

Pretty good bout. Although Landeskog did not do badly, the win most decidedly goes to Weber. However I'm still not a big fan of retribution attempts after a clean hit.

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on February 25, 2015 at 01:26 AM

Man I loved the hit! As far as the fight, Weber really handed Landeskog his @ss. nice scrap from the captains.

Posted by ChuckinKnuckles on March 02, 2015 at 06:31 PM

Old school hockey at its best. Clean hit brings retribution and captains go toe-to-toe. Landeskog early, Weber late. Slight edge to Weber. 6

Posted by DaBuisness17 on February 26, 2015 at 02:48 AM

Just because a hit is clean doesn't make it tolerable, weber did what needed to do to send a message, saying if your gonna run around on my mates, your gonna pay. Love the hit though. Win weber

Posted by Nashvillewayne on February 24, 2015 at 09:20 PM

Edge to Weber as the Captain stands up for his teammate.

Posted by CheapSeats on March 01, 2015 at 11:04 AM

Not bad. Some decent in the pocket fighting.

Posted by mikebflorida on February 25, 2015 at 10:38 AM

Great hit on yet another player with his head down. Weber gets some good shots in as payback. Good stuff. The penalties are absurd, of course. Eat sh1t Buttman.

Posted by English_Bruin on February 25, 2015 at 11:25 AM

Appropriate beatdown for the hit I think. WEber wins but enjoyed the wild swinging from Landeskog

Posted by Buddy507 on February 26, 2015 at 01:11 AM

Edge to Weber, good scrap though. Landeskog didn't do terrible, gave it a strong 6

Posted by Titzmgee on February 24, 2015 at 11:02 PM

jeez guys , that was swell ! I had no idea Shea was that tough

Posted by TheNatural on February 24, 2015 at 09:55 PM

Win Weber in the battle of C's Weber sits for 17 while the Avs muster up 2 SOG's in that span. Not much of a win Bosox!

Posted by MacNerd on February 25, 2015 at 11:14 AM

Weber stepping up as the captain and sending a message!

Posted by ghjkfdhgfd on February 26, 2015 at 01:33 AM

weber

Posted by heffenator on February 26, 2015 at 12:13 PM

Landeskog fought plenty in junior, this is nothing new. He was a cracker for the London Knights.

Posted by mctuttle on February 24, 2015 at 10:21 PM

Respect, Weber.

Posted by RileyWolf on February 25, 2015 at 01:03 PM

Shoulder straight into his face and you retards say it's a clean hit? Blind bias.

Posted by Great Murray on February 25, 2015 at 03:40 PM

It was a clean hit and it was a great response from 2 Preds to protect their mates. It was also a great response from Landeskog to immediately answer the bell against Weber. He may not have won the fight but he did not lose it badly either. The Preds said "Hey, you can't smoke our guy," The Av said "Yes I can, bring it on. Good stuff...give it to Weber but it was closer than indicated by some of the commentary here. Rudolf Nureyev Bettman can stick his instigator rule.

Posted by slysi on February 27, 2015 at 11:10 AM

landeskog needed what he got

Posted by doobi1 on February 25, 2015 at 11:07 AM

Weber's outstanding attack after the Landy hit, edges Captain Gabes's solid come back after the initial onslaught. Good bout but Weber gets the WIN because he outpointed Landeskog in the beginning. Even bout after that. Toe to toe, and away we goooo!

Posted by daydayjigz on February 26, 2015 at 11:21 AM

Love Weber taking the other captain on. Brutal blindside shot on Josi the fight was deserved. Heads up decision by our Captain (and everyone else who was ready to go on the Preds)

Posted by b.t.wilson on February 25, 2015 at 12:09 AM

Weber with the edge in a textbook hockey fight. I've never been a fan of the retribution fights myself, but the captain did what he had to do after his partner, who has concussion history as a result of head shots, was absolutely freight trained. Big respect to both leaders.

Posted by Heyzeus on February 25, 2015 at 07:26 AM

Weber beat what's his names ass..

Posted by PattyPred on February 25, 2015 at 07:49 AM

Absolutely no reason for Landeskog to "clean hit" Josi especially since Downie put Josi out last year with a high (and dirty) hit. I'm proud that my Captain Shea Weber sent the message to the rest of the players to no run our players or there will be hell to play. Earlier I saw some targeting by Avs players and that seemed to stop after that fight. No one (including my team) should EVER target the opposite team's players. That's intent to injure and that crap needs to stop.

Posted by adulane62 on February 28, 2015 at 12:17 AM

Clear win for Landeskog! First, he delivered a clean, legal hit to midget Josi who was running wild on the Avalanche. Second, Landy landed the only solid punch in the fight (0:21), even though the visor-wearing punk didn't give him a chance to square himself. Win Landeskog and a 9.

Posted by Ed Van Impe on February 25, 2015 at 07:05 AM

All Weber in this one ...funny how nobody in this league can take a legit shoulder check anymore .in the words of Keith Olbermann, Pitiful

Posted by Walt on February 26, 2015 at 03:37 PM

I thought it was a clear win for Weber and it was not a clean hit ... it was a full speed charge on a guy with his head down and not in possession of the puck. I honestly do not know any longer what criteria people at this site use to score fights. The fact that nearly 30% of the voters here rated it either a draw or a win for Landeskog baffles me.

Posted by x5ofspadez on February 26, 2015 at 04:08 PM

Cheap shot by Landeskog, then gets he ass handed to him. ref should never stop captain on captain action.

Posted by JSBrown303 on February 24, 2015 at 09:41 PM

Good job Weber for standing up for his team mate after a cheap dirty hit by Landeskog.

Posted by Thorn112 on February 24, 2015 at 11:36 PM

Clean hit by Landy, cheap shots by Weber until Landeskog gathered himself and was able to land a few in return. I don't like jumping in to fight after a clean hit - deliver a big, clean hit of your own if you want real retribution. Called it a draw because Landy held his own and Weber cost his team so much time in the box - lucky the Avs are struggling this year while the Preds team is a cut above just about every other team.

Posted by Cmanmike on February 25, 2015 at 12:05 AM

"good clean hit" or Landeskog attempting to headhunt and Josi pulls up in time to avoid getting another concussion from an Aves headhunter...a matter of interpretation. Weber interpreted as worthy of a beating and gave Landeskog one. Weber appears to land 3-4 solid shots, Landeskog doesn't land anything solid. If the stripes don't step in at the end, it could have gotten very ugly for the Aves captain.

Posted by Bosoxshute on February 24, 2015 at 08:47 PM

Great hit by Landeskog on that Euro bitch. Weber doing what he has to do, but win LANDY, win Avs for Weber being out 17 minutes.
