Wow those guys travelled quite the distance. Thornton controlled the cross country battle and landed a nice shot at the end to get the clear win. Nice to see Shawn back at it.

Put down the ducky...put down the ducky....you gotta put down the ducky if you want to play the saxophone ....Hit it Ernie....lol Thornton with the win as he puts down the Ducky ....Thank you Ernie and Burt....

They go from one end of the ice to the other with not much happening. Thornton lands a few punches and "down goes Jackman". It seems like we've heard that a few times this year. Lol. Win Thornton.

slight edge to THORTON . there was no right hand dropping JACKMAN .a feather puts him down

Posted by Walt on February 11, 2015 at 05:00 PM

@doobi1: Thornton beat a moribund Jackman but c'mon ... Thornton "scored a big TKO"? Jackman was going down just from being a clod. Incidentally, nice crowd in Miami seven minutes into the game.

All Thornton. Good to see him wearing the A for the Panthers, he deserves the recognition for his work in the NHL and off the ice.

Posted by Canner on February 12, 2015 at 09:17 PM

Ya, Bs could use Throts this year to spark em and keep that 4th line honest. Did Jacko No Show fall or get punched down? Always a good foe for Shawn to keep his fight card looking respectable....

Geez, were there any people at this game? We get more people at my midnight adult D league games.

Posted by travist on February 13, 2015 at 08:57 PM

thorny in COMPLETE control, nice to see, and nice to see him hold up jackman at the end so he doesn't bounce his head.

Posted by Pug Face on February 12, 2015 at 01:04 PM

the old guy wins...

Posted by King of Goons on February 14, 2015 at 01:41 AM

Glad to see Shawn put this loser down.

Thornton got a couple good ones in and won this decisively in my opinion. Keep hoping to see his name on the fight list for the night when I come on HF, but it's been rare this year.

waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting... POW. game over.

Posted by Behn Wilson on February 16, 2015 at 09:22 AM

Thornton uses a superior grip to negate Jackman's right... and skates almost all the way back to Boston throwing the same punch repeatedly until it eventually connects Lol BoldBilly

Posted by DARCY T on February 12, 2015 at 06:23 AM

they battled for a better position for a while then thornton missed a couple punches lefy and right before he dropped jackman

Posted by steakbelly8000 on February 11, 2015 at 02:36 PM

All Thornton... Jackman is embarrassing...

Posted by dcmac on February 12, 2015 at 11:29 PM

Thornton, ok fight even with all the time spent with both getting into position. Thornton landed a couple solid shots even before the bout ending knockdown.

Posted by rocky 1 on February 13, 2015 at 02:49 AM

Win for Thornton but I think it was a close strategic fight by two old veterans!

Posted by von_swine on February 13, 2015 at 06:55 PM

finally, the 'Great Rock n' Roll Swindle' of 2015 is over as Timmy 'Steve Jones" Jackman is exposed by the eternally ham-fisted Shawn Thornton.. you could see Jackman was still believing the hype around his recent 'hit status' on the hockeyfights.com charts, only to be thoroughly punished by a REAL rock n' roller... for all of you music buffs out there 40+, this is what a fight between Malcom McLaren & Johnny Rotten would look like, (Johnny in red, of course...) #22 FTW and a note to T.J.; 'ever get the feeling you been cheated?'...

Lovely ice dancing exhibition by these two until Jackman decides to lose his footing and Thorton glances a decent right off Jackman's chin. But Jackman was going down just before or right at the time of that glancing punch. Had Jackman been put down by that punch he wouldn't have gotten up that fast and skated directly to the box. Win Thornton.

Thornton, Winner

Posted by Jordybats99 on February 25, 2016 at 12:08 PM

Edge Shawn Thornton.

Posted by jnk07899 on February 12, 2015 at 01:38 PM

Thorny!! My boy!! Hopefully Jackman is okay, but a seeming knockout for the old vet on vet fight.

Posted by doobi1 on February 11, 2015 at 03:09 PM

A win to the OM. Thornton did a great job of not getting hit once he lost the lid. When Jackman finally did get one in, it just pissed Thornton off enough to score a big TKO. Thornton the hands down win.

Posted by burnsy9 on February 11, 2015 at 03:15 PM

All Thornton.

Posted by Titzmgee on February 11, 2015 at 07:05 PM

Shawn drops the big man. He don't last long or hit the hardest anymore, but he still gets the job done. One of the all time greats in my opinion. That all being said, if he still played for boston every bruins hater on here would say he lost.

Jackman smiling in penalty box, lost his balance. Scores a goal alomost gordie howe hat trick.

Posted by Humper on February 11, 2015 at 02:35 PM

The punch at the end that tagged Jackman was all that Thornton needed for the win. Not that he really did anything else (except follow Jackman's dance moves).

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on February 19, 2015 at 01:29 AM

Wow, Thornton wins one... oh wait it's only Tim Jackman.

Posted by Amerkfan8 on February 14, 2015 at 06:07 PM

This went as expected. Thornton may not be the fighter he once was, by Tim Jackman is still the fighter he's always been.

Posted by kkdowning on February 12, 2015 at 11:07 AM

Jackman comes looking for Thornton and Thornton obliges. Not all that much going on here -- other than a bit of ice dancing -- until Thornton lands a good shot at the end.

Posted by Clowes ABeast29 on February 12, 2015 at 03:07 PM

id take thornton on the 4th line over what we have 7th rounder in 2018 for him lol shit he would even be our captain 1st game out and nice watched him line that right hand up! lol

Posted by BigBadBruins68 on February 11, 2015 at 05:09 PM

Quick piston rights give Thornton the edge in this one, including the last one which looks to have put Jackman down. Good win for the old tough guy, who we still miss up here in Boston.

Posted by mikebflorida on February 12, 2015 at 08:43 AM

What a garbage "fight". Maybe 4 or 5 weak punches thrown and the last one floors Jackman? What a joke and those are 2 "old school" guys. Sigh.

Posted by Great Murray on February 11, 2015 at 07:50 PM

Nothing much changes at this site...Thornton would get the nod if he was laying unconscious and bleeding. Like he did his last year with the Bruins. He wins because he landed the ONLY punch of the fight. All the rest by both guys are misses. Thornton avoids being axe murdered by a real fighter...Anaheim doesn't have one of those right now. Should be about it for him...he can't even put butts in the seats in Sinrise. Thorny and 3
