Weber is a little bitch

Posted by TopTitty17 on April 13, 2012 at 09:45 PM

Who else do you expect the Wings to send after Weber? Morons

Posted by ISUSigTau921 on April 13, 2012 at 08:27 PM

i hate the redwings but glad berrtuzzi stepped in and did this. i lost alot of respect for weber after the last game, each player should take their turn hurting him tonight. weber is the new nhl tantrum throwing pussy

Posted by mrmedia99 on April 14, 2012 at 01:16 AM

Got to give the old man Berts props for going at Webs (despite him being a tool that should have been banned for life)...He's just lucky Webs isnt a fighter...

Posted by Clark75 on April 14, 2012 at 06:58 PM

No no Bert, you've got it all wrong. Your supposed to chase him up the ice then punch him in the back of the head, then crosscheck the back of his head into the ice. Goof!

Posted by Franchise on April 13, 2012 at 08:22 PM

Really Detroit? You send Bertuzzi to avenge the actions by Weber? Disapointment all over this one.

Posted by bboyer on April 14, 2012 at 10:52 PM

Bertuzzi is a bitch

Posted by flanagon on April 13, 2012 at 08:45 PM

Bertuzzi is a joke

Posted by GreatMurray on April 15, 2012 at 06:36 AM

Bertuzzi calls Weber to task when Shanahan wouldn't do his job. Bertuzzi lands 2 punches and Weber 0 in a clutching contest. Everything happened before they got the camera trained properly. This is where Holland (the best GM in hockey) hasn't done his job. He never replaced McCarty. Detroit should have an Asham, an Engelland or a Thornton to keep these other teams honest. Datsuyk and Zetterberg have to be getting tired of getting their azzez kicked. Weber did not land one punch...where do the votes come from...its almost like a Boston game.

Posted by acmocaco on April 14, 2012 at 03:33 AM

To all the morons who are criticizing Bertuzzi's performance in this fight you might want to consider a few things: 1) Shea Weber almost never loses a fight. Check out his fight card. 2) Bert is an old man whose fighting days are long behind him. Someone had to do it, and Bert did. The Wings don't typically carry a tough guy on their roster, and it drives most Wings fans crazy. I'm just glad someone did the deed. Because I honestly expected them to do nothing. +1 to Bert for having the stones, -1 to all the retards talking shit about him.

It’s amazing sometimes how easily we judge, but these situations just aren’t as simple as we wish they were. I think we should just be happy that two guys dropped ‘em in the playoffs, so we all have something to comment on…

Posted by b.t.wilson on April 13, 2012 at 11:09 PM

Good for Big Babe standing up for his star, and good for Weber answering. I know it wasn't much of a scrap, but it was a good hockey play. A little bit of closure at least. I'm a Preds guy, and I thought Weber should have had the day off, so I'm glad to see this happen. (I had a good laugh at all the Red Wing fans on facebook vowing Weber would be "Kronwalled.") Not happy with the game in the end, but eh, the season series was tied, its no surprise this series is tied. Now to win one at the Joe! Oh yes, called this a draw for the hell of it.

Posted by shuckthefarks on April 16, 2012 at 09:41 AM

Not much thrown here and I think Bert wanted to tie it up real good so there wasn't much thrown. Not sure what Bert was doing going for the single leg takedown. Too bad Weber didn't make good use of the goal crossbar since they were right by it. Unfortunately, this was a draw and the only statement Bert made for the Wings is we want to do something to you but we can't.

Posted by Lucy Brown on April 14, 2012 at 08:10 AM

Aweful and I mean Aweful camera work.

Posted by guas99 on April 15, 2012 at 11:08 AM

No clear winner here but at least Weber answered the call, unlike that p.ussy Boyle.

Posted by laughriot on April 15, 2012 at 03:00 PM

I see a lot tough guys hiding behind their computers criticizing both of these guys. Reality is, not one person sitting at their keyboards would last five seconds with either of these monstrous humans. Draw. Good to see Bertuzzi stand up for his teammate.

Posted by TommyGun29 on April 14, 2012 at 12:48 PM

draw - not a great answer for what Weber did but what else do the Wings have?

Posted by hrngmprd on April 15, 2012 at 11:03 AM

The fact that someone stepped up from Detroit to go after Weber since Shanny can't make the right calls in the Playoffs, win to Bertuzzi.

Posted by nait on April 14, 2012 at 06:35 PM

come on if your gonna have a NHL Playoff fight you have to make it playofff worthy

Posted by dnewland20 on April 15, 2012 at 12:05 PM

Ready for round 2. Bertuzzi is a bad*** he still scores goals and can still fight. His fighting days are behind him? HA ok... 38 years old doesnt make you an old man kids.

Posted by MilburyKOMyKid on April 15, 2012 at 06:36 PM

Dirty Bert out-wrassled him but not much of a fight between 2 big supposed tough guys who don't fight well vs legit fighters. Weber should have been already suspended for this game.

Posted by mr0zip0 on April 15, 2012 at 12:19 PM

Great job by Bertuzzi to stick up for his teammate. Great bout as well.

Posted by staceyb on April 13, 2012 at 09:05 PM

The only reason I gave the bout to Bertuzzi was that he got the Preds' best defenseman off the ice for five minutes. Nothing potent hit either player. Babcock was a happy camper applauding his winger from behind the bench.

Posted by kronvallizer78 on April 14, 2012 at 02:18 AM

Atta boy Bert. Way to stand up for your teammate. Weber should be glad the Wings don`t employ someone like Carkner or Colton Orr or he would have gotten his clock cleaned even more. Fu** this coward. Win Bert who is still pretty strong given his age.

Posted by georgearmstrong on April 15, 2012 at 03:24 PM

I think what we saw was two guys living up to the so called code and no one got hurt... Lesson Learned for cheap shot artists that are afraid to stand up for themselves AKA......... Mr Law suit

Posted by hockeyboy10106 on April 15, 2012 at 12:11 AM

i like seeing from fight from the redwings when you have a team with no toughness players will try and take advantage of that push them around knowing they have nobody threating to answer to

Posted by Detroit_Caps on April 14, 2012 at 07:18 AM

If someone 10 years older than me challenges me and I don't lay him out. . .I'd be embarrassed. . . Is anymore evidence that the Wings don't need a fighter needed?

Posted by Hav42 on April 14, 2012 at 11:23 AM

Edge Bertuzzi for being far more active. Even with the leg grab he managed to throw more punches. This video doesn't do a good job of showing the beginning of the fight where Bertuzzi was the only one active. Detroit did the right thing and stuck up for themselves. Nashville answered. Not a great fight but everytme its a win for the fans.

Posted by jais4nu on April 14, 2012 at 10:08 AM

That was necessary. Weber needed to remember that if you mess with Hank, Todd is not far behind.

Posted by Livewire on April 15, 2012 at 05:33 PM

I'm glad someone got the message to Weber that we don't take that BS in Hockeytown! Now if he just gets a good Kronwalling as well then it'd be all evened up!

Posted by sambino on April 13, 2012 at 10:59 PM

Weber takes some punch from bertuzzi. Weber take excatly that what he want. Idiot hit zetterberg's head last game straight of the side of edge.

Posted by Chellbell83 on April 14, 2012 at 10:11 AM

Sorry, Wings girl over here...so, LOTS of love for Bert in trying any sort of redemption for his fellow team mate. To me it looked like he tried...and it seemed like Weber was not going to retaliate unless he was going to get his butt beat. I agree with the statement that a lot of tension was relieved. It had to be done so the Wings could at least prove some kind of point to be able to let it go and move on.

Posted by freestylin599 on April 14, 2012 at 10:38 AM

Good response by Bert, no one landed much just good standing up for yer star player

Posted by b_eazzzy on April 14, 2012 at 07:49 PM

bert landed the best shot @ 0:19........fuck weber and dyke fisher

Posted by jnk07899 on April 15, 2012 at 12:28 PM

LOVE IT!

Posted by Sup_Detroit on May 09, 2012 at 09:42 PM

Bertuzzi did a good job sticking up for his teammate. He did good. Fuck Weber

Posted by jemihami on April 15, 2012 at 06:43 PM

I'm surprised Berpuzzy didn't jump him from behind and drive his face into the ice. I thought, that after Bert's tearful apology that those "days of retaliation" were over. If I'm Shanny, I suspend him for life. As for Weber, he admitted his mistake was dumb and apologized. In addition, he is recovering from a concussion so I'm sure getting punched in the face isn't his idea of a good time.

Posted by ISYSpanther on April 14, 2012 at 09:53 AM

Weber will have a target on his back for the rest of the post season. I doubt anyone will take too kindly to his late game actions in game 1. There are some headhunters left in the league, besides Weber. Draw, because I have no respect for someone who slams a dude's head into the glass in the last 2 seconds of a game while winning.

Posted by predskickass on April 14, 2012 at 11:37 PM

bert is just a punk hitting after horn sounded and not even doing that good zetterberg stomping on webers foot, if z was a real man he would have done it himself all the wings are pussies

Posted by probie4life on April 16, 2012 at 01:46 AM

WHAT?!! Team Lady Byng red wings has a fight during the 1st round and the bruins don't?!!

Posted by polishpowderkeg on April 14, 2012 at 05:37 PM

Everybody has been saying some Wing was going to "take care" of Weber, maybe they should ask they fallen teammate Andreas Liljia what happens when you fight Shea Weber, better yet ask him twice he won't remember the first time you ask him.

Posted by capsfloors on April 14, 2012 at 11:20 AM

DRAW DRAW DRAW... too many people voting about the cheap shot about no discipline from Shanahan etc. The voting is about the scrap.... nothing happening here. Oh and tpr1960 blows!

Posted by JarHeadGabe on April 13, 2012 at 09:04 PM

Looked like Weber landed a couple more than Bertuzzi. Almost like TB just wanted to hug SW's leg.

Posted by pinney29 on April 15, 2012 at 12:34 PM

Weber.

Posted by Predhead33 on April 15, 2012 at 11:36 AM

tough guy burtoozie!! start it,then hug up and duck, big sissy!!

Posted by brazos on April 20, 2012 at 05:28 PM

Not much here Bertuz wanted out quick as evidenced by grabbing the leg for a takedown.

Posted by kkdowning on April 14, 2012 at 11:00 AM

Going 4 and a draw. Arguably slight edge to Weber

Posted by chad420 on April 18, 2012 at 11:36 AM

win WebHead....Bertuzzis Old School...gotta love it

Posted by JacobSeifert on April 15, 2012 at 12:15 AM

Sitting in the building you were just waiting for it. It looked like Shea handled him and Bertuzzi just was trying to pin him down and fall. Watching it was much closer but Shea gets the edge for bias and he is only one to connect a meaningful punch

Posted by mike2323 on April 16, 2012 at 03:55 AM

Weber with the edge.

Posted by slavv on April 16, 2012 at 04:20 PM

What the hell was this?!? Wrestling 101? Detroit has nobody to answer any kind of bell, so they throw out the only guy that has fought more than one time this season, that being Bertuzzi, who had no idea what he was doing against a guy who hasn't fought in four years....

Posted by WTEC on April 14, 2012 at 11:27 AM

this fight was a crap draw for both players. im here in Nashville and no one but grats is a fighter. with that said no one on the wings is a tuffguy. berrtuzzi is an old man and went for a single leg take down to get out of the fight

Posted by Domi2828 on April 15, 2012 at 02:02 AM

If you voted that Turdtuzzi won this fight then you probably need to get to the nearest tattoo shop in Detroit and have your bad, white trash "D" tattoo touched up because its starting to look as faded as your bad white trash hair cut

Posted by Pupdog on April 15, 2012 at 10:03 PM

How can anyone say Bertuzzi won? He grabbed the leg of weber to knock him down to stop the fight. bertuzzi Has-been.

Posted by MrDigitaL on April 14, 2012 at 11:59 AM

Weber had the Gordy Howe hat trick last night.

Posted by hughcares on April 14, 2012 at 08:21 AM

At least Bertuzzi didn't jump him from behind but after that it looked like all he wanted to do was stick his finger up Webers a$$. I think Bertuzzi learned that trick from Zetterberg. Weber with the easy win

Posted by yngblonde1 on April 15, 2012 at 01:07 AM

Anybody that fights the cheap shot king Bertuzzi I will give the win

Posted by 5fourfighten on April 15, 2012 at 10:03 AM

If Weber is a bitch? Then Bertuzzi is a punk. Dropping your head and Grabbin a leg? You serious? Since his days with the Islanders, Bertuzzi has always been a cowardly punk. Never will he gain my respect after what he did to Moore. Should have been put in jail! Bertuzzi sucks. And he lost this fight for pussing out.

Posted by battleshipfan on April 15, 2012 at 01:54 AM

yawn

Posted by The Mad House on April 13, 2012 at 10:18 PM

We all saw this one coming. It just saddens me that the best guy the Wings had to offer was Todd Bertuzzi.... I realize they are not the same team that had The Bruise Brothers, but come on. They need to pick up some sort of fighter in the offseason, somebody, ANYBODY!!!!!

Posted by DARCY T on April 15, 2012 at 09:20 AM

weber is big skilled defensman who can stand up for himself when he needs to and he proved it vs bertuzzi answering the bell for bullying zetterberg in game 1.im calling it edge weber.he was taking over at the end and bertuzzi realized that and tried to pull weber's leg to get him down but weber landed some more after that i love the sight of franzen sitting in the penalty box with his nose bleeding haha

Posted by billy jack on April 13, 2012 at 09:40 PM

burt wanted to wrestle, weber wanted to scrap, end of story.ps:if this is Detroit getting back then weber is laughing out loud.Detroit has 8 hits in 2 periods, who can watch this boring hockey.probert is rolling around in his grave.

Posted by cougar fists on April 15, 2012 at 05:11 AM

Bertuzzi not so tough when he doesn't suckerpunch from behind.

Posted by sammy51255 on April 14, 2012 at 08:50 AM

at least bertuzzi is fighting someone straight ahead and not attacking from behind and breaking there neck. i cannot stand this guy

Posted by Sweeney2112 on April 13, 2012 at 09:14 PM

bertuzzi tried to dump him by the pants because he knew he was about to get destroyed!!! LOL

Posted by tpr1960 on April 15, 2012 at 01:01 PM

Bertuzzi is a big puss, red Wings are a timid team get over it. Bertuzzi? remember him? Hitting from behind??? And he didn't even WIN THE FIght. Morons.

Posted by PENGUINSCUP09 on April 13, 2012 at 11:21 PM

Time and time again; :"behind-the-back" bertuzzi proves that if the opponent is ready and his back isn't turned; he is a pitiful example not only as a person; but as a would be fighter as well. Weber rag dolls him with superior strength. Is that the best the wings can come up with as retaliation? Preds sure looked scared didn't they....

Posted by pinpin on April 14, 2012 at 02:14 PM

Weber wanted to throw Bertuzzi held on!

Posted by esteef on April 14, 2012 at 12:09 PM

Weaksauce but good response by Bert.

Posted by wingnutt64 on April 14, 2012 at 01:16 AM

Bertuzzi and the Red Wings are winners. Only loosers take cheap shots. Not only did Bert do what needed to be done, he did it well, all things considered. If, and I mean if, PROBERT was in this series Weber would be out of the playoffs. It's a shame and a disgrace the league only fined Weber. The Wings will beat Nashville and thank the hockey Gods for being true to the best game on earth! Go Wings !

Posted by mudman55 on April 14, 2012 at 05:31 AM

Weber shouldn't even be playing in this game. Bitz got a few days off, and waht Weber did was worse. I did enjoy the Bertuzzi-Leg-Lift on Weber, that was tasty. But had to give it a Draw. Will the fight between David Krejci and the pane of glass be posted? Cuz Krejci lost that one.

Posted by trailmix on April 15, 2012 at 09:07 AM

Weber is a bitch.

Posted by ironface on April 14, 2012 at 01:31 AM

Big Bert goes out of his way to avenge the perceived wrongs of the previous game. Not much of a fight but kudos to Bertuzzi in taking care of the issues on the ice and for Weber to oblige. Lucky for Weber the Wings have no real tough guy to do the dirty work. Win Weber, but only by a glancing punch.

Posted by madmanmike on April 13, 2012 at 09:43 PM

Todd Bertuzzi, decides to be the man to step up, and then grabs the leg to try to end the fight like a bitch. To give him any credit is ridiculous, you step to the plate you swing, not that. Win to Weber for pure disappointment of a bitch who can sucker punch someone from behind, but cannot go toe to toe.

Posted by ecnerwalj on April 14, 2012 at 02:44 PM

Bertuzzi is the king of retribution, though he has learned to attack from the front, agree the nod goes to Bert though because he did get weber off the ice for 5 mins, and kept himself off the ice as well, it's a win-win for the wings in that sense...

Posted by rramoz7984 on April 14, 2012 at 02:21 AM

Bert used to play dirty. Weber took his place in game one. Captain...? Yea right.

Posted by montrealSUCKS on April 13, 2012 at 09:50 PM
