Don't know who Westgarth is but he sure as hell isn't a fighter with long career projections in this league.

Posted by mudman55 on September 27, 2011 at 12:45 PM

Westgarth would have won on points, but he got straight knocked out. W Gratts.

Posted by Riomouse911 on September 27, 2011 at 12:02 AM

THWAK! BMcG still has it.

Posted by Big_Goon on October 02, 2011 at 12:08 PM

McGratton caught Westgarth with a good right with enough force to knock him to the ice. That is completely different than being 'knocked out' or 'TKo'ed'. Had the fight continued I'm pretty sure Westgarth would have hung in there while McGratton pummeled him some more. Clear win by McGratton but not a TKO or KO.

westgarth landed a couple of solid rights before mcgrattan sent him down

Posted by LicoriceBiscuit on September 26, 2011 at 01:06 AM

McGrattan tagged Westgarth with a right that put him down. Westgarth popped back up, and went to the locker room and didn't return. KD win McGrattan

No one tougher in the league....sure wish the Oilers had grabbed him.

Are we gonna have crappy quality all year? I know it is pre-season but last years feeds were not very clear either..... Oh yeah, Win for B.M.

aw man..i knew it wasn't gonna be good. Love Ya Westy but B-Gratt is one tough motherfucker. B-Gratt with the win. Keep it up Westy

Posted by KingsFan4Life on September 27, 2011 at 10:13 AM

As a Kings fan, I have seen Westy fight a lot, here in LA and in Manchester. Dude is a legitimate heavy-weight enforcer, but tonight McGrattan got the better of him, no excuses, no doubt. But, I doubt these two will see each other again anyway as the Stache handles Anaheim's enforcement. As always, the freeway series will be intense this year, can't wait.

Nice first punch by Westagarth but McGrattan reminds us fans of NHL pugilism just how powerful he can be by knocking Westgarth down with a nice bomb that caught the big King just right. Too bad old McGratts is destined for the AHL once again as Parros is still the resident tough guy in those parts.....

Posted by SabresFanatic on September 28, 2011 at 08:14 PM

Gratts, has always been a top tier heavy, but his personal problems kept him out of the NHL. He's prob a better fighter then Parros but Parros is so loved in Anaheim. I can't see Gratts in Anaheim.

Posted by staceyb on September 27, 2011 at 06:17 AM

I can't imagine Anaheim is going to keep two oversized enforcers who can't skate, but you never know these days. Gratts delivers a wedding present to Westy's chin and down he went.

Gotta love Gratts, I hope someone finds a spot for him. Old time fighter stands in there and gets knocked silly occasionally, but his fights are always entertaining.

Getting TKO'd in preseason can't be a good omen

Posted by GreatMurray on September 29, 2011 at 09:34 PM

I Punch Knockdown...refs should have let them go

McGrattan destroyed Westgarth

Posted by Clark75 on September 27, 2011 at 08:08 AM

TKO for McGratts. Good to see him back in fine form. He's definitely top 3 toughest in the league. Don't see a spot for him on the Ducks lineup with Parros already there.

i knew this was gonna be bad...

Grats simply top 5 tough guys in the league with an easy win here!

Posted by kevinator63 on October 01, 2011 at 12:23 PM

westie gets TKO'd by a waterfowl. Westie isn'rt much of an enforcer, I prefer Clifford-- GO KINGS!!!

Posted by Rotorhead on September 29, 2011 at 02:42 AM

"KINGSFAN4LIFE........ I too have been a Kings fan but for 30+years... For you or any other Kings fan to say Westgarth is a legitimate heavy weight in the NHL is flat out wrong.... This kid has not won a single fight convincingly and even lost a fight with Paul Gaustad. Kevin, I promise you, is a tragedy waiting to happen. I hate to say it but he has no business dropping the gloves with Big Mac, Orr, McGratts or John Scott... He's going to get hurt, mark my word....

Posted by AZfromNJ on September 27, 2011 at 02:16 AM

Westy gets owned pretty regularly these days. Great to see Gratts back, would love to see him make an NHL roster. TKO Gratts, Westy seemed shaken pretty good as he skated off.

Posted by totmacher on September 26, 2011 at 01:49 PM

per this video... Going to give the Win to McGratten... Buckles West with that last hit. Would like to see the entire fight. No videos up yet?

Posted by FistofFury on September 26, 2011 at 05:10 PM

Jab's don't work that well against a guy with a bomb in his right fist. Now Kevin feels the importance of tying up the power arm Ouch

Posted by von_swine on September 27, 2011 at 03:54 PM

solid tilt. Westy w/a good start, McGratton w/a better finish. looks like the right thrown on the way down stuck Westy pretty good too..fights a fight and you go until it's over though. hope both these guys are around for the season. Brian w/the W over Westy.

Posted by ThrowdownSJ408 on September 26, 2011 at 10:58 PM

welcome back Gratts!!!!!

Posted by Mounty in NC on April 03, 2012 at 09:46 AM

He nailed him .........WestGarth's All woozy....ya know I always feel for these guys who get caught that early in the season......I'm guessing it must make for a long year

Posted by Big_Fat_Dan on September 26, 2011 at 03:52 PM

Dang! McGrattan is still a monster. I really want to see him and Mac go at it again.

Posted by kkdowning on September 27, 2011 at 02:17 PM

McGrattan is still around? Apparently so, with a clear win here

Posted by ParrosFan16 on September 26, 2011 at 10:59 AM

McGrattan smoked Westgarth.

Posted by CloweStaubi on September 26, 2011 at 08:30 PM

Westbarf gets knocked on his back pockets.... Gets up and starts clapping (for some reason).... then misses the door..... McGrattan all day
