Hate to keep rehashing this but, once again, Gazdic takes four right hands from Westgarth straight to the VISOR before he gets loose and unloads bombs on Westgarth, KO'ing him with a vicious right. Gazdic is a tough, tough guy who throws with extremely bad intentions but his visor is what makes him more dangerous than anything else. He can afford to get hit four times in the visor but his opponent doesn't have that same luxury. I don't think there's anyone who should want to fight this guy knowing that he's as dangerous as he is and is protected by a face shield. I have to believe that if Gazdic is not wearing that visor and Westgarth catches him dead in the mug with any one of those four punches ...we're looking at an entirely different result for this fight.

Luke with the KO win. * The kid is having the best debut since Boogaard but it's just tainted by the visor rule. I'll just never be able to get over watching one guy throw with impunity while he's protected by a shield at another guy who doesn't have one. It's just wrong.

Posted by NotoriousT on March 01, 2014 at 10:49 PM

WOW! Gazdic's stock just keeps climbing. Westgarth just got knocked the fuck out!

Posted by Raoul Duke 708 on March 02, 2014 at 02:31 AM

A few things: Gazdic can't handle Grats, we saw that on 11/16 when Grats nearly killed the lad. So just settle down with the rush to anoint this kid. "Rookies are required to wear visors" - that is a true statement. The fact that it is a requirement doesn't make it any less of an advantage. Anyone who has ever dropped the mitts (to say nothing of anyone with a modicum of common sense) can tell you it is an enormous advantage to have most of your face covered by a glass shield. For those of us who don't care to watch visored combatants pillory each other's armor, soon it won't matter. After the lawyers get through with the current concussion lawsuit fighting will be relegated to the Central Hockey League. Gazdic will look great in a Tulsa sweater...

Posted by tnarg62 on March 02, 2014 at 02:40 PM

why take your visor off after the fight?...

Posted by billy jack on March 02, 2014 at 01:53 AM

If people think a visor doesnt make a difference your fricken concussed because it does big time i had a buddy almost split his hand in two on an uppercut.also another get ko trying to get the visor off a guy,if you think me punching your shield is like me getting the bridge of your nose, your is an advantage thats the facts jack, explain how it aint,i saw a good westgarth punch bounce off his visor.,so their you go 777big if you like hittin visor hey thats your thing not mine.

Too bad Edmonton still sucks. Don't they get the number 1 pick every year since Messier left?

Posted by OlKoot on March 03, 2014 at 01:41 PM

Gadzooks w/ the big dukes takes Westgarth out with the garbage. Too bad about the shield though, it definitely gives him an unfair advantage and really shouldn't be allowed.

Posted by Great Murray on March 02, 2014 at 06:29 AM

Detroit needs to trade Eriksson, Kindl and Smith for this guy. They would immediately go from the sissies in their division to the toughest team in the East...and they would get rid of three over priced "D". Gazdic is not to be trifled with. Where was Big Mac. Westgarth asked for this one...oops. Knock-Out for sure...hope he doesn't have a concussion!

Posted by ahartnack on March 02, 2014 at 08:36 AM

' This is for the people who voted for Westgarth!!! He got the f knocked out!!!! How can that be a W for him or even a draw!!!! By the way....Gazdic won the fight. '

Posted by staceyb on March 02, 2014 at 08:22 AM

Gazdooks! Hard to say what hit the ice first--Westy's head or his mouthguard.

Posted by 33Oliwa on March 01, 2014 at 11:04 PM

aaaaaand your out! Westgarth needs to get a "w" here soon or I can't see him sticking around with the Flames. Really like Gazdic's no clutch style, wished it was McGrattan for the rematch.

Posted by nhlofficialsblo on March 04, 2014 at 12:45 AM

He KHTFO but I can certainly do without the helmet flip by a shielded moron. That move has got to go. The code says don't do dat.

Posted by langdon20 on March 01, 2014 at 11:03 PM

Big Ern is watching the game feeling partially responsible for Kevin's nap. What do you say about Gazdic, his right is nasty and his chin is granite. When Are they playing the leafs? I want Orr retired by this kid.

Gazdic is the real deal fellas!!

Posted by DARCY T on March 30, 2014 at 06:52 AM

good fight but both but it seems gazdic is so powerful that he is able to eat a couple punches in the process to knock his opponent down...ko win gazdic

Oh Westy that was ugly. Gadzic is becoming a beast!

Posted by English_Bruin on March 02, 2014 at 04:27 AM

Bruins need to sign Gazdic. He can take a punch but sure can give em!

Posted by BennyD on March 03, 2014 at 03:42 PM

Gazdic continues to show that he is the real deal. They need him to protect all that young talent on Edmonton. I would love him on my team! LG with the obvious W and an 8.

Posted by omorales on March 06, 2014 at 11:55 PM

To the 0.8% that voted for Westgarth, well in a normal distribution curve you are indeed the trailing 1%. To the rest of the 'tards that seem to focus on the shield, you all know that it's a rule that rookie skaters HAVE to wear a shield, don't hate the player, hate the game. Take it up with the NHL.

Posted by lb1631 on March 05, 2014 at 02:59 PM

Great fight except Gazdic is wearing a visor.

Posted by Jellyczar on March 02, 2014 at 11:50 AM

Big Gazdic win..... but still tainted by the visor.... So I say Gazdic is the toughest guy with a visor and McGrattan the toughest without and all around. So listening to the low intellectuals on this sight who don't like hearing about the visor complaints. Too bad, it is a definite advantage and needs to be accounted for....

Posted by Gunslinger on March 02, 2014 at 08:50 AM

You wanna know why the rankings/votes on this site are worthless? People actually voted the guy who got knocked out as a winner. Nuff'' said.

Posted by rocky7482 on March 05, 2014 at 05:28 PM

No need to tell everyone who won. Westgarth will not be around for long with Burke watching upstairs if he continues to fight like that. The commentators should have shown Gazdic's fight earlier this year with McGratts instead of cherry picking the Stoner fight.

Posted by Power29 on April 02, 2014 at 10:23 PM

Gazdic all the way.

Posted by Mparkmark on March 03, 2014 at 03:23 PM

Gazdic won the fight; but until he choses to fight without a visor, he can't be considered Top Dog. The visor... which is mandated, needs to come off, etiher self-induced or allow opponent to take it off. Until he fights unprotected, we really don't know how he can stand up to Top Guys. We'll never know what the early Westgarth shots would've done. Did Gazdic win? Yes, but ....

Posted by GCBC00 on March 02, 2014 at 12:04 AM

Where to start?!?! I'll keep it short. Luke Gazdic is a puncher. Meaning he throws heavy hands... enough said. Credit Westgarth for taking about 5-6 punches that would put most guys to sleep long before the final blow. I'm liking this Gazdic character more and more every time he fights. Win Gazdic in a 7-8 *Dukes Leafs.....SOBER up, Buddy. Visors are MANDATORY for any player now entering the league. Shed the bucket, cost your team a PK* Might want to do more on the site than just rate a fight from time to time.

Posted by Jack Meoff on March 02, 2014 at 11:02 AM

I love Westgarth, but why would you vote that he won this fight?

Posted by Cruncher on March 03, 2014 at 10:41 PM

Posted by inspector3334 on March 05, 2014 at 04:26 PM

Gazdic, can really throw, but the visor is a real advantage.

Posted by shawnrocks on March 02, 2014 at 10:24 AM

westgarth hung in there with gazdic who is EASILY the hardest puncher in the league

Posted by endor on March 02, 2014 at 09:11 PM

Westgarth may want to take that Princeton degree and get into real estate. Has no business fighting in the NHL. Can't stand up to the likes of Luke the Brute.

Posted by MStu on March 02, 2014 at 10:36 AM

Posted by d.dog667 on March 02, 2014 at 11:29 AM

Gazdic with the tko. If he is going to be a top heavyweight in the league he needs to at least offer to take off the hat!

Posted by Rsizzle on March 02, 2014 at 11:03 PM

Great win by Gazdic...much repect to Westgarth for absorbing 4 bombs and finally going down...the tough guys on this page posting would have been killed after 1 punch and most nhlers would have fallen after 2 punches...big props to Westgarth for showing real match for Gazdic in this one

Posted by EK65 on March 02, 2014 at 04:41 PM

Yikes! Hope Westgarth is okay that was ugly!

Posted by Kaner88 on March 01, 2014 at 11:38 PM

I give credit to westy for surviving the first 3 bombs. Gazdic is a terrific young fighter. Would love to see him vs McGrattan again.

Posted by Unbeatn on March 01, 2014 at 10:52 PM

Gazdic is inventing himself as 1 of the top heavyweights in the western conference

Posted by Pug Face on March 02, 2014 at 11:17 AM

I advise you the visor is helping this kid big time.....

Posted by Buzman on March 02, 2014 at 08:03 PM

For all you fight fans who get it on so many levels. You are absolutely right. An enforcer who wears a shield (mandated or not) has a distinct advantage and for all intents and purposes has an unfair advantage.

Posted by oldtimebsfan on March 02, 2014 at 10:26 AM

Gazdic is tough for sure .. can go with anyone. Met his match with Lucic though. Can't believe how Westgarth just stuck his mug in and kept it there .. bad idea w/ a guy like Luke.

Posted by Mounty in NC on March 11, 2014 at 11:49 PM

The PU$$Y Gazdic wins again but its obvious Westgarth was trying to take Gaz's helmet off because he couldn't hit him thru his visor. If you are a fight, man up and take your visor's not like Gaz spends a lot of time laying on the ice trying to block slap shots. I would LOVE to give Westgarth the win for simply not have a faceshield, but I won't. Until Gaz loses his faceshield I will continue to consider him a B!TCH

Posted by pepsigenerate on March 02, 2014 at 08:51 PM

to bad didn't get a view from the opposite side of this view.Gazdic stunns Westgarth for the win, To bad McGrattan wasn't in the lineup! can't wait for Buffalo sabres too come to alberta

SO sick of seeing Gazdic with this fu cking visor on. Seriously. CHange the rule and let him lose the window. Not giving Luke as much credit as he deserves until he loses the visor.

Posted by WildFan23 on March 02, 2014 at 10:37 AM

Gazdic with the ko here but still think he's a pussy wearing a visor only puches that would work against him are chin shots or uppercuts. Gave it to Luke but plz take the visor off you tough guy.

Posted by gorman0 on March 02, 2014 at 11:38 PM

Westgarth is the punching bag of the NHL. He's a complete waste of a roster spot. He got his a.. knocked out !!!!!

Posted by breakupboss on March 02, 2014 at 04:01 PM

How is Gaz not rated in the top 10 on here is beyond me . He has done that to about 4 or 5 guys this year.Hard Hard puncher

Posted by J.R. Abel on March 02, 2014 at 04:58 AM

Impressive work from Gazdic. Seems like a lot of big heavies come from Edmonton.

Posted by Biggus on March 02, 2014 at 11:24 AM

Anyone doubting Gazdic should be a little more convinced now as he punches Westgarth into next week. The visor rule is a real problem when it comes to fighting.

Posted by T-Wild76 on March 01, 2014 at 11:06 PM

So why was McGrattan not playing?

Posted by FHgrad99 on March 06, 2014 at 02:50 AM

Kevin Westgarth probably doesn't even know that his name is Kevin Westgarth after that. I'm surprised that he was still standing after several of the shots he took from Gazdic but Gazdic finally hit him good enough for Westgarth to drop like ton of bricks.

Posted by PantherPete on March 02, 2014 at 07:07 PM

WOW! Didn't see that coming, especially after Gazdic walked into the opening jab of Westgarth. Kudos to G's solid chin. This definitely elevates him to the legit pugilist category. Hope Westy gets back on the horse very soon.

King of Goons, well said, perhaps a different outcome had westgarth not had to try punching through the shield, now I understand the hangup you have with the visors, wish the `intagible ` aspect was eliminated joe heathen says

Posted by Streetbob on March 02, 2014 at 12:20 PM

I don't care how tough some is, or isn't, if you fight with a visor against someone who is not, YOU ARE A TOTAL CHICKENSHIT. Here's a easy solution, BOTH PLAYERS LOSE THEIR HELMET, BOTH GET AN EXTRA TWO, AND THE PENALTY TIMES STAYS EVEN....DUHHHH.... I will NEVER respect Gazdic until he loses the visor when he goes. It is just way too much of an advantage. You guys that say a visor doesn't make a difference.....STFU because you don't know crap. Sorry 'boys' but that's JUST REALITY.

Posted by bigmike53 on March 02, 2014 at 01:00 AM

Gazdic feeds Westgarth the meat candy and gets the KO! Gazdic is a beast and seems to be improving with each fight. It's definitely an advantage wearing a visor when fighting. We have to be realistic about visors in fighting. That being said, Gazdic didn't make the rules. He just pummels everybody he comes in contact with.

Posted by nbecc1 on March 01, 2014 at 11:32 PM

I feel sorry for Westy, he will be in er checking on the concussion he now has Luke is the best fighter in the game

Posted by Behn Wilson on March 04, 2014 at 11:14 PM

Gazdic punches his way straight through the league's resident Hanson brother en route to a dramatic legitimizing KO But as always... my attorney KingOfGoons makes an important point

Posted by das_mack on March 02, 2014 at 10:45 AM

2 big dudes with long hair absolutely smashing each other faces. Gazdic seems like a guy not to F around with, as at the end he just jackhammers Westy into unconsciousness. Head hits ice. I hope he's ok.

Posted by kryon24 on March 02, 2014 at 08:45 AM

I would have to say KO as Westy was asleep before his cranium cracked the ice. Lucky for him he had his lid still on or it would be worse. Detroit could sure use him ( LG that is) but knowing them they would sign jarimar j├Ągr or some other washed up euro wuss instead. Saw this guy at training camp and he ko'd one of the rooks there also. KO win for LG.

Posted by LAKings on March 02, 2014 at 01:01 PM

The kid wearing the visor wins this one.....

Posted by canamrugby on March 02, 2014 at 02:17 PM

Pretty obvious that the Flames don't have a lot of toughness without McGrattan. I guess this is Brian Burke's version of fielding a tough team, one that can take three or four solid rights from Gazdic before being KO'd. Calgary went on a downward spiral after dumping Tim Hunter way back in the early 90's and they've never really recovered. I draw a direct parallel between losing a super heavy like Hunter and the entire team being fielded is absolute crap.

Posted by von_swine on March 05, 2014 at 03:21 PM

well Westy, if you're gonna lose, might as well be to the new kid w/the rocket launcher strapped to his arm,.. no shame in this one as Westy tried to shake off the first three (yes, 3!) dings to the chin, and pretty much did so, yet the hammer came came down and put a very cagey and fun to watch journeyman to the ice... did the visor come into play? maybe, but Gadzooks aint gonna take the minor for removing the bucket or he'll get benched. the refs move in now if dudes pull off their lids anyways. #20 FTW and a legit KO...

Posted by bouch19 on March 02, 2014 at 12:10 AM

do these shield idiots no anything? get off the site you wankers! or shut the fu.k up. TKO Gazooks.

Posted by Leejayd on March 03, 2014 at 01:14 PM

Obvious win for Gaz, as a flames fan i hope Grats comes back for some revenge next game and toss him around like a pillow case again like last time. About the visor thing though I understand it, it is what it is. why doesn't he do what all those guys did during the olympics, get the smallest visor you can and then push it up as high as it can go.

Posted by wibodyguard on March 02, 2014 at 07:31 AM

Boom boom out!

Posted by Dave Brown HOF on March 11, 2014 at 12:12 AM

BOOM!! Nighty night Westy. You lose to one rookie in Kellan Lain and you actually think that you're going to beat another rookie in Gazdic whose sole role and experience is as an accomplished fighter? Are you sure you have an Ivy league degree. I actually don't like seeing guys get knocked the fuck out in hockey fights, where they end up staring straight up at the roof of the rink in a snow angel position, but if it's going to happen, then it couldn't happen to a better team.....or make that a worse team. Calfairy is pathetic....IN EVERY way. And Gazdic is a man and I wanted my team to pick him up for a couple of years now, but the Oilers did a good job in getting him and he'll be there protecting their talent for a looong time. And yes McGrattan will come calling next game because he's the only player on that whole team who has a set and doesn't need to douche his vag. There are players and teams who lose more fights than what they win, but there hasn't been a team in the last few years that has had as many embarrassing and devastating KO losses as what Calfairy has had. MacIntyre basically retired Ivanans and now Westgarth getting put to sleep by Gazdic. The Calfairy trainers should wear skates for the amount of times they need to rush out to scrape these hacks off of the ice.......and like I mentioned, it couldn't happen to a better franchise. Hey Stalk-Clairealexande, "if" the Flamers win? You, EVEN being one of their biggest apologists, should know that's a pretty monumental if. And, as it turns out, didn't materialize. And since you apparently don't follow the NHL too closely, then I should tell you that trying to catch a team with a 9 (now 11) point difference in todays NHL with approximately 20 games left in the season is as likely to happen, as you finding and getting a clue, especially when you're talking about the Flamers. The fact that the Canucks have been so terrible over the last 15 games and the fact Calfairy is still 3 months worth of points behind them, should tell you all you need to know about how truly bad the Flamers are. As for Torts being played like a fiddle by Fifi......who won the game? Which is the objective correct? Last time I checked anyways. So, Fifi playing mind games, sure rallied his talentless troops now didn't it. And he looked worse that Torts ever could have with his pathetic Mr. Innocent, "I dunno why that angry man so upset at moi, I dunno" act. That was embarrassing.........and as for your last comment, have you ever heard about people living in glass houses? Apparently not.........well you can look it up.

Posted by fourpoints on March 02, 2014 at 09:13 PM

I haven't seen this kind of KO power that strikes fear into the hearts of mankind since Joey Kocur in his prime. Joey Kocur was a one punch demolishon artist until he ruined his knuckles. Gadzic is the king-size version of Kocur....with good, healthy knuckles. He made poor WestGarthBrooks look like little Lord Fontelroy.

Tough kid, the visor is there for sticks and pucks. There is no way he wears it to better his chances in a fight. You have a problem with his visor, you go take it off.

Posted by ThrowinHands9 on March 05, 2014 at 11:37 PM

Gadzik is a beast. Big KO win and props to Westy for taking a few right on the button before the big one. About the visor. Yes its mandated but yes its an advantage. Ive been coming to this site for 10 yrs and love it. But its always been agreed upon that a visor gives one guy the advantage. Its just the facts. Doesnt make Gadzik any less lethal and prob wouldnt change the outcome of this tilt but it does help ANY fighter to throw bombs and know half your face is covered.

Posted by rocky 1 on March 01, 2014 at 11:55 PM

Plain n simple gentlemen. Gazdic (the rookie) is top 3 in the league now. He needs to beat John Scott or McGrattan to claim the title. Even Jay Rosehill who sadly doesn't play as much anymore because Berube is a poopy head. Anygays, obvious KO for Gazdic and I have a big penis. PS. Calgary might wanna think about a different 2nd enforcer

This kid (Gazdic) is dangerous, Westgarth is as tough as they come and got really beat to all hell. Grats, Luke, and Reeves, simply exceptional fighters and you better have A game if you drop gloves with these three. As a RANGERS fan, I love these guys as my team is a bunch of fairies. Grats and Luke, its a sure bet next time.

Posted by lights out on March 01, 2014 at 10:55 PM

Gazdic's a beast. Last two fights , two knockouts. Westgarth was outclassed and you knew this was going to end badly for him when you see Gazdic throw what looked like a bullet of a right hand that coiled back within a split second waiting to throw another one.

Posted by Buddy507 on March 08, 2014 at 03:37 AM

Gazdic has some skills but I'm not ready to crown him yet. Reeves tried to get him to drop em earlier this year and he didn't seem to want any part of it. Grats handed it to him but he showed well. I think he is on his way to be top tier but not there yet. I never skip watching his fights when I see them posted on here. Visor deal sucks but he doesn't make the rules and nobody is stopping Westgarth from evening the playing field

For anyone who thinks Westy"s shots would have hurt Gaz if he wasn't wearing the visor go back and watch the Lucic fight and the shots he takes in that one. Kid has a great chin and an even better right , dying to see a rematch with Gratts before the year is out

Posted by QUIGGS22 on March 04, 2014 at 07:26 AM

Wow !! Gazdic all day long

Posted by Sudburyfan on March 02, 2014 at 07:59 PM

WOW!! Edmonton better sign this guy for a few years. The kid can play as well.

Posted by Semenko FTW on March 01, 2014 at 10:54 PM

Shhhhhh....Just go to sleep, Kevin.

Posted by rwsanderson on March 02, 2014 at 09:56 PM

Gazdic is a beast.

Posted by kawartha on March 02, 2014 at 10:06 AM

would like to see Gazdic chase thornton and lucic around the rink , you know they would be running from this machine .

Posted by russainsocal on March 04, 2014 at 03:49 PM

Used to seeing Westgarth getting beat when he played for LAK ... except this time he wasn't clapping his hands on the way to the box

Posted by treborjim on March 02, 2014 at 11:26 AM

luke is becoming someone to be reckoned with.

Posted by Kdh24 on March 03, 2014 at 10:50 AM

Pretty one sided here. Gazdic doesn't have a choice he has to wear a visor

Posted by U wanna go? on March 02, 2014 at 01:37 AM

How did 3.6% of the voters think Westgarth won that fight????? Was that Westgarth's family voting???Total domination by Gazdic. Hey, Brian McGratton, you have a challenger for the title!!! (No disrespect intended to Kevin Westgarth, I appreciate what he does)

Posted by powerforward92 on April 02, 2017 at 03:12 PM

searchiiiiing, seek and destroy!!! 5 brutal punches right in the kisser. Nice to watch

Posted by Jofro on March 07, 2014 at 03:38 PM

King of Goons ..the visor only protected Gazdic from a couple slaps. He took 3 good shots to the chin and mouth area...and they didn't even phase him. I honestly feel like visors do very little to protect a guy in a hockey fight...if anything, they increase the risk of laceration for both guys.

Posted by sarge5050 on March 02, 2014 at 02:42 PM

somebody actually vote for westgarth and some called this a draw? l

A slugfest followed by a KO!

Posted by mctuttle on March 02, 2014 at 12:07 PM

One of the best fights I've ever seen in 30 years.

Posted by prowler on March 03, 2014 at 02:37 AM

gadzic destroys him....but actually I agree with some comments his visor is saving was like when he fought lucic soon as lucic took his visor off, gadzic got punched and then hid behind the ref and lucic gave him a upper cut and that was it.....I think in a fight they should take off the helmets like lucic was doing before......

Posted by Luvdafights on March 04, 2014 at 07:00 AM

This kid catches quite a few guys off guard. Fairly new fighter, and catches Westgarth with some nasties. Hopefully Westgarth is okay.

Posted by Orr Fourever on March 02, 2014 at 09:49 AM

Welcome to the battle of Alberta Kevin. KO Gaz.

Posted by BillHK on March 02, 2014 at 08:34 AM

Westgarth's mistake was letting go of the jersey to try and get in a couple quick lefts. Who's the idiot that rated this a draw?

Posted by MoparMan on March 03, 2014 at 12:41 PM

Clearly Gazdic throws hard. He's developing quite a reputation that will make finding dance partners harder and harder.

Posted by 5_for_fight on March 02, 2014 at 09:48 AM

By far the toughest oiler to ever play in Edmonton. One of the biggest acquisitions before the season for reasons he proves each and every night either by his skating abilities or his pugilistic abilities. Gazdic has made a name and a home for himself in Edmonton for a very long time. He's the man...hands down.

Posted by doobi1 on March 02, 2014 at 10:02 AM

Great scrap! . Toe to toe for a good minute, but Gazdic lowered the boom boom, and out went the lights. Cudos to Westgarth who did land quite a few himself and to Gazdo, the king.

Posted by MarkPBDVM on March 02, 2014 at 08:14 AM

Westy got Gaz-Dicked!

Posted by bura_gokce on March 02, 2014 at 08:43 PM

Luke Gazdic can really chuck em!

Posted by the kid 61 on March 03, 2014 at 10:18 AM

Westgarth messed with the bull and got the horns. Enough said. I like this kid gadzic.

Posted by Nyrangerfanjw on March 03, 2014 at 07:43 PM

If you want to be a fighter and wear a shield you should take your helmet off at make it a fair fight

Posted by spiderlakeDave on July 13, 2016 at 11:39 PM

Wow what a right By Gazdic. Fight was close until that.

Posted by hockey1961 on March 02, 2014 at 01:38 AM

Gazdic and a KO 7. No need to comment.

Posted by perezj on March 02, 2014 at 08:51 AM

Luke take the face shield off when you fight, no class what so ever...

Posted by bigdog2007 on March 02, 2014 at 08:08 AM

Dukes Laffs is a fetal alcohol syndrome twit. Clueless and simple. Then again look at the team he cheers for.

Posted by claire alexande on March 08, 2014 at 04:58 PM

Visor-boy wins. BFD. Westgarth, unfortunately for him, chose the Sestito route (get the shit knocked out of you for the team) instead of the Kassian route (run away from Gazdic like a little bitch all night). If Gazdic can learn the rudiments of hockey, he may be a force to be reckoned with in the fisticuffs department, assuming he loses the shield and survives. _______ dbhof--if the Flames win tonight, they're seven back of your joke team with two games in hand. Since Hartley played Torts like a violin the last time the teams met, you guys are the worst team in the league. And "Calfairy" is the joke franchise? I'd sure like to know what lies at the roots of your delusional hatred for the Flames and Calgary. Actually, I wouldn't--some things are too gross to contemplate.

Posted by nait on March 01, 2014 at 11:05 PM

at least Westgarth got a few good ones in first

Posted by sedinfan on March 02, 2014 at 12:10 AM

Bad match up. Gazdic is a on a roll and Westgarth tries to do sub for the injured Gratts and fails miserably. Westgarth is good for one of these beat downs occasionally. Should be interesting next game when Gratts goes for revenge.

Huggy Bear showed an iron chin until the last one dropped him -- KO win for Gazdic

Posted by Cid on March 02, 2014 at 02:22 PM

This Gazdic kid is the real deal. He's entertaining and he lands some devastating knockout blows. Aside from his unanimous decision loss to McGrattan and his draw with Lucic (both great fights by the way) he has been tearing through the league with ease. Looking forward to Buffalo's last swing through Alberta later this month. McGrattan, Scott and Gazdic (along with Erksine & Lucic) are the 5 best heavies/fighters in the league. I am highly anticipating Scott vs Gazdic and McGrattan vs Scott. I believe those two fights will determine the true heavy weight champ in the NHL this year.

Posted by Massive Coiler on March 01, 2014 at 11:40 PM

I think if Gazdic hadn't proved he's one of the best in the league, he certainly did with this one. Gazdic wins with the KO.

Posted by Hilaker on March 01, 2014 at 11:07 PM

Westgarth was in trouble when McGratton was not dressed. To the moron complaining about Gazdic wearing a is mandated by the NHL, he has no choice but to wear one. All Gazdic with a solid 7.

Posted by ISUSigTau921 on March 01, 2014 at 10:56 PM

Kevin Westgrath: Getting paid to get his ass kicked since 2008.

Posted by mygameworn on March 01, 2014 at 11:33 PM

The shield is a non-issue. Westy was outworked.

Posted by BigJohn on March 01, 2014 at 11:15 PM

Gazdic is definitely a tough guy but he has a distinct advantage wearing a shield. I know he has to but until he fights the league's best without the shield there will be an asterisk beside the win column.

Posted by 777Big on March 01, 2014 at 11:20 PM

If another ignorant bastard makes a comment about the visor........

Posted by Humper on March 01, 2014 at 10:59 PM

Gazdic is going to quickly run out of players who will drop the gloves with him. He is just brutal.

Posted by illukka on March 02, 2014 at 12:52 AM

westgarth is totally destroyed here

Posted by hardcase on March 01, 2014 at 11:07 PM

Shield gives Gazdic an unfair advantage.Gazdic got his clock cleaned by Mcgrattan and rosehill, lucic and nolan did ok aganist him as well.Take off the shield before the fight not after the fight

Posted by rowbearprobear on March 01, 2014 at 11:11 PM

I get that Luke is a tough kid - a very tough kid. But what an advantage to have 1/2 your face covered with a shield. This is a real problem and it doesn't seem like anyone wants to talk about it. Luke is a beast for sure. But what an advantage! Hope Westy is ok,

Posted by Dukes Leafs on March 02, 2014 at 10:24 AM

Wow, just watched it against and the chicken drop the helmet on the ice as soon as the fight was done. He knows he's a chicken and hides behind the visor. Solution is, he shouldn't be fighting.
