that earned him limited success in the King fight,
but Godard has obviously seen the clip,
and uses his strength, and experience to pound Gillies
much more effectively than King did, off the top.
Overall, Godard's lefts were as good as Gillies lefts,
but his early barrage of rights went unanswered,
and made the difference in the fight
despite the meaningless take down at the end.
For me, this scrap helps to put two things in perspective...
A) ...how much I seem to have underestimated Gillies,
who just went toe-to-toe with two of the leagues best,
and, not only lived to tell about it, but did fairly well ...
and B) ...how far away DJ is from the likes of a real Champ.
