This fight helps to put Gillies in perspective,
at least, at this point in his career.

Basically, he's Leblond, with less names...
Bissonette with less letters...
a Vukota-Langdon-Vial, re-incarnated, kinda thing.

A legit heavy that can hang with the big boys,
and give an honest go to just about anyone who shows up.

Great for team character, entertaining as hell...but never to be champ.

F- for ''linesmanship'', yapping, and not being ready to go,
and the ''reverse Janssen'' ref wave in.

Great fight.
I now consider Gillies an official heavyweight enforcer..and a good fight to analyse him a little. A natural south paw. He tried to go with the right a few times but noticably uncomfortable on that side. Strong as a bull but lacks the flexibility and reach to land the knock-out bomb. Has to fight in close and tight to be effective. How do I know all this ? I slept at a Best Western last night .lol

Leblond should know that there is going to be a fight, but the linesmen should as well and clear out. At one point, a linesmen has a hand on the back of Ldblond's helmet while Gillies is throwing. That should never be. Even though Gillies got off to a good start, I think Leblond landed the better shots and edged him in the end.

yeah i dunno, gillies with the pretty lame start to the fight, but still, another very entertaining fight, one of many tonight. calling it a draw, for how many shots gillies threw while leblond's gloves were still on, the guy sure came back with an awful lot of his own, including at least a half dozen uppercuts. great job fellers!

edge "Best stache in the league"....P3L did tap...horrible job by the lineman holding P3L with BSL blasting him with 6 shots... real good tilt

Gillies with the early start, but Leblond pulled it even. Draw

Good tilt, no clear winner. Both are to be commended for their efforts.

Win Leblond

Neither guy seems to have a lot of ooomph; lots of punches landed, none ever seemed to do much to either guy. (Linesman = class A clown for holding one dude when he's being hit by the other.)

Draw, no one seemed to feel a punch.

Good fight. Both fighters looked great, but Gillies administered the most damage.
