Last minute, Karmic justice from the hockey Gods.
Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

Great technique by Kane, in...
accepting the (obviously misguided) challenge,
quickly getting the helmet off,
and landing the well-thrown, jaw-bomb.

Somewhere, at a pub in Winthrop,
the Bruins are raising a glass.

If that's not a KO, I don't know what is.

Kane made short order of Cooke. Short order Cooke--how apropos.

Poetic justice, it is just too bad Marc Savard didn't do it. Evander, you are now one of my favorite players.

Can't fault Kane...Cooke went looking for it.
Funny how the Hockey Gods have a way of keeping us humble.
Ironic way to turn the lights out on a good season !

Cooke is a wanker

Kane is a skill player and a rookie and i suppose that Cooke thought he could school the kid

as pretty much everyone has said.....Cooke has had this coming too him for a long time.....what a way to end up the season for us fight fans

justice

yeah i am all for 'justice', but i felt sick seeing that, until cooke finally stood up on his own. then i was able to say, 'ah sweet, the little prick'. kane with the shotgun right nearly kills cooke, was challenged, did his job, didn't get cocky, too bad you're in the hockey hot bed of atlanta, kid. if he played north he'd be an absolute god right now.

great KO. just a sweet punch into the bullseye and down goes 1 of the most hated cheapshot artists of the league.

NashRedWing, you sound like an idiot Flyer fan. There is no bigger ***** in the league than Henrietta Zetterberg. 1st off Crosby checked Kane which caused the initial skirmish. Are you that much of a fool to think Sid would fight in a meaningless game to a non-playoff team?? Kane is a pest just like Cooke, thats their style. Evry team wants the down and dirty guys that play through injuries and hit hard night after night and every team has a player or 2 that always plays in the grey area. Once the scoreboard showed the Devils up 4-0 the game was meaningless....Just remember the guy that coached your loser team depended on Sid to win the gold medal. Babcock has had nothing but awe when talking about Sid. Maybe you should learn hockey or better yet move to Philly.

I could watch this all day. Cooke deserves to be KOed this bad and then some for his ***** hit on Savard. Thank you, Mr. Kane, for dispensing justice! This could be KO of the Year!

A cheer went up in Boston. I don't get the "Kane picking his spots" comments. He's a damn good hockey player and doesn't need to fight on most nights. It's like saying Sidney Crosby is avoiding Eric Boulton.

By the way, this is not ironic, it was expected that someone would clock Cooke in a one-on-one battle at some point in time.

Anyway, this is one of the best knockouts of the year and it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
