Three cheers for the rookie! I agree with some of the reviews though, a good clean hit apparently isn't allowed anymore. I always loved the honour factor when someone really got laid out something fierce, but the fact that you can't give a beautiful open ice hit anymore without having to drop the gloves is a little silly.

I thoroughly enjoyed that. I still harbor ill feelings against Cooke after his garbage when he played with the Nucks, and love nothing more than watching the back of his skull get pounded in. (maybe I exagerated a bit, but it was still good) WIN Peckerham (sounds dirty...)

Cooke out head hunting (clean hits at least) and peckham used the back of his head for target practice. This peckham guy could make for a nasty blue liner in the future. Definatly a "W".

How the hell is Cooke not going to be assessed a fighting major?!?!? He dropped gloves didn't he? He threw one punch at the end didn't he? Frickin zebras are special ed students sometimes.

Garbage call by the refs. Even as Pens fan, I have to say we got lucky -- should have been 5 mins. Cooke got the gloves off, but didn't square up. Can't figure the refs angle in this. Maybe they got confused and thought they were at a really cold soccer match. Let the boys fight!

Gave it a 1 and W for Peckham; only because there was no 0.

Crap call by the refs here, Cooke had his gloves off, he just couldn't get any punches off.
Upon second review Cooke landed a punch when the linseman got in, no way he shouldn't get 5 as well.

Win Peckham and a hero in my book for hammering the biggest pansy in the league.

bubbaburgh, you don't know much about Matt Cooke, do you?

The word "cowardly" is typically used to refer to him, not who happens to be attacking him at any given time!....

Awful call by the refs. Just because you get your butt whooped doesn't mean you don't get a fighting major. He dropped the gloves, just got dominated by Peckham.

Finally someone teaches matt cooke a lesson and heshould be beaten up more often, such a cheap skate.

how cooke gets off with just a roughing is beyond me. although, i wouldnt even call his hugging and clinging even roughing, more of a 'loving'. peckham with the clear win.

How the hell did Cooke not get a fighting major for that?

If some of you would of watch the play before the Gagner hit you would of seen the cheap hit by Cooke on I think Tom Gilbert. He left his feet and elbowed Gilbert. So after Cooke running after Gagner 10 seconds after his cheap hit and the refs not calling anything it was the right thing to do for the first game rookie to do. Cooke is a coward and should of at least got 4 minutes.

Peckham, 5 minutes for giving.
