Eskimo-facial-hair, man ambushes, and destroys a surprised Gaborik
That being said, Dave Schultz would have never fought someone named Marian.

Gaborik just got outgunned. He's actually a pretty tough guy, the Rangers announcers have been telling us that all season, but he doesn't fight. So what was he doing with Carcillo? Henrik Lundqvist told a reporter it would have been like Brashear fighting Danny Briere. There will be more to come.

Those announcers are full of crap!!!!!! Gaborik's right glove was on the ice long before Carcillo's..............What is he supposed to do!!!!!!!

Now they want Carcillo to wait until he gets punched square in the face before he is aloud to throw em

This fight is irrelevant- He should hang his head in shame after Avery beat him up. Thats like the ultimate disgrace!

Pretty sad when Gaborik is the one who has to drop the gloves to defend himself and nobody steps in to stop it. Girardi was right there and just watched. Pretty sad indeed.

This certainly turned into an interesting game. Fighter/non-fighter: Hey it's a hockey game and Carcillo had to account for himself later in the game. I do wish the Rangers had kept Orr, but I don't think if he was on the bench that it would have made a difference in this one. I disagree with the comment about Shultz, he would have fought him because his name is Marian. That's assuming that Marian hadn't been skewered by Bobby Clark first.

Not quite the "fair" match up, by Gaborik drops his glove and away they go. Props to Gaborik for going with a much tougher and experienced fighter.

Carcillo is doing his job. I wonder what he would have done if he just matched up with Gaborik, but Gaborik kept his gloves on? I''d wonder, where the rest of the team is to come to the defense of their best player and one of the top scorers in the league. weak.

This stirs up the rivalry a bit more!

Gaborik did drop them, so Ranger fans can't really complain about Carcillo. But that fight was perfectly symbolic of what a joke this team is. First, that Gaborik realizes there is NO passion at all on this team, and felt like he needed to do that to try to get some life into them. Second, that NOBODY jumped in immediately. Friggin Dan Girardi waits until they're down and no more punches are being thrown, then politely tugs on the back of Carcillo's jersey. Hey Dan, get the hell in there. We can live without you for 2 periods. just disgraceful, really sickening. Third, that prideless fraud Brashear was sitting up top, yet again, enjoying some popcorn, when everybody KNEW this game would be heated. And forth, that he was sitting next to the most incompetent General Manager in organized sports history, Glen Sather. Do you think there is a chance in hell this happens if Colton Orr is still on the team? This garbage didn't happen. Even is Brashear did bother to play, nobody fears fighting him. He's either gonna hug you if you throw more then one punch, give you 4 or 5 quick noogies and then tackle you, or like he usually does lately, just skate away, in his quest for the Lady Bing award.

The guy got his last payday, and doesn't even pretend to care out there. He actually pussed out from Carcillo last time they played. And when he is forced into fighting now, he then sits out the next 4 games to recover.

Glen Sather paid this gutless punk MORE MONEY then Orr got, to be maybe 10% as effective at this job. not to mention he might be the least skilled player in the league. Orr developed into a very capable defensive presence, who was being used against Crosby and Ovechkin last year. Brashear can't beat Aaron friggin Voros out of a job. Just disgusting.
