2006-2007 Regular Season

Date / Time Away / Home Team Away / Home Player
Mar 21, 2007 Philadelphia Flyers Todd Fedoruk
1pd 00:21 New York Rangers Colton Orr
Comments: Right off of the faceoff they drop the gloves and immediately grab ahold of each other near the side boards with Orr throwing a right while they are locking horns. They exchange simulataneous rights and Orr gets in an overhand right after that. They wrestle around for a short while until Orr gets loose and throws two more rights. Orr then winds up and connects with a straight right that puts Fedoruk to sleep right away. Fedoruk falls motionless to the ice and Orr is quickly escorted to the penalty box. One of the linesman waves for doctors to come out onto the ice. Fedoruk stays down on the ice for a good five minutes and is eventually lifted onto a stretcher with a neck brace and taken to the back.

The NHL should demand that the Fridge retires before he is unplugged for eternity.

OUCH!

As for Medicore, Orr decimated Goddard TWICE and Goddard is listed as someon's #3 guy (tied with Boogaard for #2)??.

For someone to bring up Laraque rag-dolling Orr as a reason to mention Orr as medicore is foolish in that Laraque is clearly the top dog in the pound and he rag-dolls alot of folks.

Hope Todd is OK

This is my first review. I like a good fight like any player/spectator, but I'm not convinced hockey needs it in the game. Whatever.

I've seen just about every Ranger game for the past three decades, either live or on TV. The Flyers have had the better of the Rangers in the toughness department since they entered the league. The last time I remember a Flyer getting it that badly was when tough little George McPhee opened a crescent shaped cut on Tocchet's face. This shot by Orr was far worse. I've been calling Orr "the punching bag" all year. No more. I agree with the reviewers who mentioned his poor balance, but this was big for the Rangers. If I don't think he's a punching bag anymore, maybe some big NHL enforcers will feel the same way. This was one turning point among many recent ones for the Rangers. Looking good boys. Now if Shanny would just please kick Jagr's ass during practice...

I guess I won't get all my wishes, but I do wish Fedoruk well. Hopefully that comes true.

The effects of concussions are cumulative. I tried to look up reports on Fedoruk and didn't get much info. He came back too quickly from the Boogaard fight, or he has had too may have just had too many concussions prior to the Boogaard fight. I hope he is alright. Maybe he should take a full year off.

As much as I hate seeing Fridge drop, Orr definitely got one good one in and lights out. I hope Todd recovers and comes back because he is locker room guy for this team as well as a checking artist. I don't know where his fighting career will go, but I wish him the best in his recovering.
It's hard coming back and not being able to do what he has always done.

Ouch! Colton Orr has one hell of a right-hand... He's broken Belak's nose as well as Godard's nose and cracked Andre Roy's face too... Orr also dropped Eric Boulton a few months back... Colton has also smacked around some other heavys, like Cam Janssen. and even dropped Boogaard in an AHL game, last season....

Orr has trouble with the big left-handers, like Laraque and Brashear, but he doesn't lose many against right-handers...

Fedoruk has been getting hurt too much. Might be time to get into a different occupation.

Been a rough year for Fedoruk. It's time to retire.

See what happens when Orr is in the lineup. Not many runs at jagr, prucha, and the other finess players. That right hand reminds me of my favorite heavyweight of all time and former ranger #26 Joe Kocur. Keep it up Colton your on your way. I am glad to see you woke up Renney. Oh by the way Fedoruk is an excellent Gladiator but he brought this upon himself for the late hits and elbows he threw around in the last ranger/flyer game. I am glad though he is not hurt, thats the last thing I want to see.

Fedoruk really needs to do some soul searching during the off season. He needs to retire before something irreparable happens to him.
