Brandon Prust- 6 feet, 195 Shawn Thornton 6 foot 1, 202 Prust gets trounced by Gadzic( 6"3,210) and everyone talks about how brave and tough he is for standing up for his team( which he is, by the way). Thornton, almost the exact same size locks up with Bordeleau (6"6, 225)comes away with a draw and people call him out for hugging and act like he didn't really do anything. I see a little bit of a double standard. A draw all the way.

Posted by fernben8 on October 11, 2013 at 04:40 AM

Unfortunately, a short Draw. Bordeleau wasn't knocked down, he slipped. Also nice to see Shawn sent his regards for the late punch. Yes, there are always interesting debates on the appropriate weight classes of certain fighters. I find there are discrepancies on their official vs actual height and weight. ( using Wayne Simmonds as an example ). Bottom line is we pretty much know who the true warriors are, who will drop them with just about anyone regardless of stature vs those who pick their way to victory...

Still laughing at Braindeads oops Braindogs idiot comments here......I guess in his opinion the washed up Thornton is not getting his proper respect and of course we have to take a swipe at Brandon Prust the now cowardly HAB ......what did juice head give up here 8 pounds.......big deal that hardly ranks as a mismatch..........you same jerks think its a fair match when LUCIC goes after Prust........you see dumbass that's what you call a double standard. Not to mention this came off a clean check and Juice head jumps him at the end of Bordeleau's shift.....classy ......I'm just guessing here but I'm quite sure that Thornton's cut was a result of his shaving his cro magnan head this morning and not a punch........Bruins are too tough to bleed from a punch......L.O.L LUCIC never goes after a fighter it is always okay when he takes on a mismatch for him to have fought..........enter usual drivel here......blah blah to valuable to fight blah blah 30 goal scorer ad nauseam .........the simple truth of the matter........when you're off the ice for fighting 5 minutes against a fourth liner like Prust.......but you're too valuable to fight a fourth liner like George LARAQUE or George Parros people your own size......THIS IS A DOUBLE STANDARD........KNOW WHAT ELSE BRAINDEAD? It also makes you a coward. Enough said.....but also look how many votes Thornton gets here in an obvious DRAW.........I sweah youse. Gaz. Ah retaaaahded. What a joke.

Draw with nothing landing & no Bruins haters that wasn't a punch thrown by Thorton when Bord was on his knees he was clearly still grappling for position SMH.

Posted by gdameo on October 11, 2013 at 09:54 AM

lol....it's def a draw...i don't know how people give the win to Shawn? nothing landed

Posted by ironbar44 on October 10, 2013 at 09:59 PM

thats a draw

Posted by HchVegasNHL57 on October 11, 2013 at 12:42 AM

An accidental elbow from bordy cut ST. Fight never got going which is a shame. You call this anything other than a draw you are retarded.

Posted by tyrone on October 10, 2013 at 10:11 PM

If you guys think JACK EDWARDS is bad, try listening to PAUL ALLEN, the voice of the MN Vikqueens. 10x worse. D-rawwwwwwwwwwwwww

Posted by srehm1 on October 11, 2013 at 10:07 AM

Just a crappy fight. Draw.

Posted by hughcares on October 11, 2013 at 09:39 AM

Thornton immediately ties up Bordeleau to save himself from taking a beating. F*ckoff already about the size difference - Thornton wants to play the role of the heavy, who cares about the size.

Posted by Pug Face on October 11, 2013 at 10:42 AM

This had the makings of a good one. Too bad it didn't get going.

Posted by dustyknuckles on October 11, 2013 at 11:03 AM

ahhhh i was hoping for much more two bigger lads... tuff miss step to end it in my mind draw... again with the chris neil punch on a player when he went down don't like those....

Posted by hockeyrules999 on October 12, 2013 at 05:28 PM

Usual hug fest from Thornton. @braindog Gazdic is 6`4" 240. Prust gave up 45 pounds. Prust stands up to the Mclaren's in this league. 6`5", 250. Prust fights them unlike Thornton. Stop whining.

DRAW!

Posted by streak53 on October 11, 2013 at 12:38 AM

The guy that said Thorton dropped Bordeleau must be related to Ray Charles. You obviously missed the attempt by Bordeleau to land a monster right hand. I believe that is called missing and your momentum carrying you through the punch and falling b/c your off balance.

Posted by DICKJOHNSON on October 10, 2013 at 09:14 PM

draw...nothing landed

Posted by travist on October 11, 2013 at 03:02 PM

clean hit and thorny does what he has to. this is when i wish boston had a goon so thorny didn't have to fight these tall guys...but he does it every time he has to. bordeleau is one scary dude, thankfully this ended without too much damage.

Posted by samtheman on October 12, 2013 at 06:56 AM

Was hoping for better with these two. Thornton held his eon better than I thought in a draw.

Posted by akpryde2 on October 11, 2013 at 12:34 AM

Draw. Bordy clips Thornton with an elbow, hence the mouse. Where's everyone who usually calls the waambulance about a fight after a clean check? *crickets*

Posted by Madhouse27 on October 11, 2013 at 05:58 PM

Clear cut draw. We've seen Thorton strategically getting inside on taller guys and landing some shots. We've also seen him out on the receiving end of a longer reach. Unfortunately, tonight we saw neither. Two tough dudes nullifying each other.

Posted by SouthPaw017 on October 11, 2013 at 04:11 AM

Shame it never got going, but Thornton always fights strategically, and he has to here giving up height, weight and reach... His (5) seconds of grappling to get into a position to throw punches is the complete opposite approach of Captain Huggy Bear Konopka.... Solid draw.

Posted by chad420 on October 11, 2013 at 11:07 AM

dirty elbow by PB&Jelly

Posted by mikebflorida on October 11, 2013 at 11:16 AM

A gassed Bordeleau gets challenged by Thornton after a crushing check and they never really get going. Jack Edwards being his typical stutarded self. Draw Votes for Thornton? Really? Idiots.

Posted by DARCY T on October 11, 2013 at 04:41 AM

quite a disappointing draw.i dont know why bordeleau didnt try to get back up.i guess he was just satisfied with the way it ended

Posted by Sukoshi84 on October 11, 2013 at 12:24 AM

Thorts went all huggy and eats a decent shot that slightly stuns him. Clear Draw, with the bitch ass cock sucking cünt faced fan boys voting a win Thorts to prove eugenics should possibly be reconsidered.

Posted by staceyb on October 11, 2013 at 08:36 PM

Draw though Bordy apparently drew blood on Thorny with one shot. Maybe it was the helmet. I watched the game and noticed that Jack Edward isn't quite the homer in calling the play by play. Both he and Brick kinda lose it when a Bruin gets into a scrap.

Posted by rocky 1 on October 10, 2013 at 10:39 PM

Thornton goes after a tired Bordeleau and they tussle to a draw in a weak fight.Looks like Thornton gets cut as well!

Posted by codemgr on October 11, 2013 at 09:26 AM

Nothing but a draw here. On another note Landeskog is a biotch

Posted by Diablo69 on October 14, 2013 at 08:05 PM

Nice clean hit from the Av'S player, Thornton does his job and challenges a much taller guy (heads up for that). Nobody connected (open your eyes Jack the moron announcer). Draw on this one.

Posted by ThrowdownSJ408 on October 11, 2013 at 04:40 PM

wishi t was longer but job well done

Posted by Jackiep on October 11, 2013 at 03:25 PM

Great comment Braindog! Couldn't agree more. Thornton's the man! BTW, weren't Bruin fans the ones on this board a few weeks ago whining about how clean, hard hits shouldn't result in a fight?

Posted by Canner on October 10, 2013 at 09:55 PM

Crap fight but Thorts still popped in 3 ... I think #2 caught Bord's beak even though he had the helmet lowered for shield effect.... slight edge Thorts. Gonna be a log year for him the way the east has bulked up

Posted by smashem on October 11, 2013 at 07:19 AM

Fight suked

Posted by nait on October 11, 2013 at 03:13 PM

this could have been a better fight but oh well

Posted by dcmac on October 11, 2013 at 10:59 AM

Win Thornton. Kinda obvious once he got in range.

Posted by moneybags on October 11, 2013 at 12:49 AM

Thornton

Posted by Hockey Man4 on October 11, 2013 at 04:20 PM

Bordeleau gassed, he only plays 5 minutes a games. Thornton did a great job not letting him get going.

Posted by jordash.n on October 12, 2013 at 04:55 AM

Im a Habs fan but I would never deny the fact Thornton is the leagues most durable, gifted, heads up middleweight.

Posted by jim_habs08 on October 11, 2013 at 11:15 AM

Lol, Shawn Thornton is not 6'1'' 202 LOL ! He's 6'2'' 217 ...

Posted by pepsigenerate on October 10, 2013 at 11:42 PM

Winner Patrick Bordeleau for just about to start throwing his bombs and the cut on thornton. If the fight went longer Bordeleau would have hammered him...jack edwards seeing double and he still can't figure it out...and yes thornton hugged like a puppy.

Posted by Custombreaks on October 11, 2013 at 03:22 PM

Thorny jumped in to save, who else but the Bruins MVP #11. Thorny needs the linesmen to hold his opponent down so he can throw one last cowardly punch. Loved how the Serb assassin sucker punched 20 yr old swede Landeskog. Big tough Bruin hiding behind Gregorys Daddys skirt. Yub Bruins and their Referees have become Legendary ever since # 11 arrived, no bout a doubt it.

Posted by thebapper on October 11, 2013 at 02:39 PM

Thornton was scared of Bordeleau, he wanted out of the fight as soon as it started.

Posted by barks1513 on October 11, 2013 at 10:28 PM

Bruin Homers are the worst. Thornton lands zero, gets cut by Bordy on a missed punch elbow shot. Draw all 15 seconds long. Can you say slow motion B-Towners, it tells the tape. Get off dial up and you can see a clear draw.

Posted by tpr1960 on October 11, 2013 at 04:21 PM

No punches landed, but Boston a$$holes vote Torton. Please ..................................Oh why is Torton eye cut ??

Posted by Blackbeard101 on October 10, 2013 at 09:29 PM

Never really got going as Thornton tried holding on early. Bordeleau landed two solid rights that opened up a leak on Thornton's left eye, so win Bordeleau on more damage inflicted on opponent. Jackass Edwards still as nausiating as ever and Brick getting sucked right down the drain with him!!

Posted by Silent Partner on October 11, 2013 at 07:28 AM

The 2 rights by Bordeleau, one of which cut Thornton gives him the win.

Posted by BruinsAllDaySon on October 11, 2013 at 03:21 PM

I unfortunately had the displeasure of watching this in slow motion during the game last night and Thornton got tagged pretty good twice followed by Patrick losing his balance. Bordeleau is one tough dude - look back at his fight card from last year and watch the McGratton fight. Thornton got a terrible grab on Bordeleau and by the time he realized he needed to start swinging because he wasn't going to get a better grip, Patrick was a half-step ahead of him. Love Shawn Thornton (how can anyone hate this guy), he will literally drop the gloves with anyone and everyone. Wear my #22 Thornton Jersey every game!

Posted by knnite on October 10, 2013 at 10:59 PM

Not much thrown, Bordeleau tagged Thortz with the shot that cut him.

Posted by Bosoxshute on October 11, 2013 at 07:45 AM

Thornton is lucky Bordeleau lost his balance, otherwise he was going to get his ass kicked.

Posted by MD9AvsFan4 on November 09, 2013 at 03:09 PM

Bordeleau

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on October 10, 2013 at 09:49 PM

Crap draw. Thornton got a little mouse over his eye, but it wasn't from a punch.

Posted by Behn Wilson on October 10, 2013 at 10:16 PM

Bordeleau demonstrates his Speedy "Goonzales" maneuver as he starts a breakout behind his own net and then the next thing you know he comes thundering in out of nowhere to punish Seidenberg with a clean hit a full rink away As for the fight Thornton controls once they lock up but nothing seems to land except a random Bordeleau right Looks like the "night of the draws" continues

Posted by GreatMurray on October 11, 2013 at 01:28 PM

HUG IT OUT BOYS...SOUND OFF FOR THE IDIOT ANNOUNCER. NO PUNCHES LANDED, DRAW

Posted by Boston Garden on October 10, 2013 at 09:54 PM

Jack Edwards spot on once again! Thornton dropped Bordeleau to his knees! Thornton is the new heavyweight champ!

Posted by Clowes ABeast29 on October 10, 2013 at 10:57 PM

How can't you like Shawn Thornton?!? No KD Patrick slipped. Blind MF Edwards.

Posted by kkdowning on October 11, 2013 at 10:48 AM

What the what? How did Bordeleau magically appear to crush Seidenberg? Jack Edwards fantasy announcing notwithstanding, this was a draw.

Posted by Hockeybrawler28 on October 11, 2013 at 09:35 PM

Thornton hit Bordeleau with couple powerful lefts and it looked like he buckled him. 7 overall

Posted by kinga101 on October 11, 2013 at 12:08 AM

Thornton didn't land anything and Bordeleau landed a right that caused a cut. Win Bordeleau. Thornton clearly the instigator, but we all know that is never called against a Bruin.
