I like my Bordeleau shaken. not stirred

Posted by Ogre on December 06, 2013 at 01:08 AM

King of goons get withe times. Gadzic can't remove the visor and bordeleau wasn't removing his helmet. Youur a joke. Complain to the nhlpa

Gazdic just upset the food chain

Posted by DARCY T on December 08, 2013 at 05:16 AM

that's my boy...bordeleau started well but then gazdic landed that right bomb and bordeleau was in trouble and never gazdic

Posted by adulane62 on December 06, 2013 at 12:23 AM

Bordeleau got hurt on this one. Being an Avs fan, I have not seen him lose a fight this bad since he joined the Avs. Bordeleau probably got concussed too, and might miss a few games. Props to Gazdic! Can't wait for the rematch on Dec 19th though!

Posted by ironbar44 on December 06, 2013 at 07:24 AM

that was a bomb

Posted by EK65 on December 06, 2013 at 02:31 PM

Well that was unexpected.. but, gazdic is legit! Pb got ROCKED. (Waiting for the troll visor comments from people who are unaware of NHL rules)

Posted by devilsadvocate on December 08, 2013 at 02:10 PM

I hope Bordeleau doesn' go the way of Clifford in LA after taking this brain-rattler. Clifford was very promising light-heavy until he had his skull rattled a couple of years back, and he hasn't been the same fighter since.

Posted by jcstokes on December 06, 2013 at 09:35 AM

TKO. Thats it. Would have liked to see the refs get in quicker. He was stunned.

Posted by Behn Wilson on December 06, 2013 at 08:50 AM

FrancoisLeroux sums it up perfectly as a well timed Gazdic right puts Bordeleau's chin in perspective

Posted by fernben8 on December 06, 2013 at 01:42 AM

In musical terms, Bordeleau gets tuned by a G major and comes out sounding B flat minor.... Gazdic knew he hurt him and tried to finish him off, I'm surprised the linesmen didn't come in sooner . TKO

Posted by ken_bathfart on December 06, 2013 at 12:16 AM

Great bout for the kid Gazdic. Tough as nails and stands up for his teammates. Thought McGrattan would kill him but the exact opposite happened. Lot of promise in a league where the heavy isn't as valued anymore. Gazdic and a 7

Posted by 33Oliwa on December 06, 2013 at 02:22 AM

Nice fight for Gazdic's resume

Posted by CBoom on December 06, 2013 at 08:45 AM

Gazdic landed more and bigger shots. Have not seen Bordeleau dominated like that. Bordeleau stayed too close and got rocked then couldn't find his way out of danger. TKO Gazdic

Posted by kmd19 on December 09, 2013 at 02:03 PM

Gazdic showing some real power in those bombs. I don't get to see much of the Oilers (east coast guy), but this kid is growing on me.

Posted by ColoAvs1 on December 06, 2013 at 12:05 PM

Wow! Avs fan here! PB got ROCKED!!! Great punch by Gazdic. I haven't seen PB get whooped like that yet,,,until now! KO IMO!! win Gazdic.

Posted by Medicdude on December 06, 2013 at 01:56 PM

King of Goons, give your head a shake, or put your helmet and visor back on! Not one of those punches hit the visor, they grazed off the back of the helmet. They came together quickly and dropped the gloves, there was no time to remove helmets. Had they squared up to remove them the linesman would have jumped in. A win is a win, visor or not and you should vote accordingly! MORON!

Posted by The Peach on December 07, 2013 at 04:54 PM

KTFO and stays on his feet. Been there. It's a weird feeling. Bordo needs to rest the melon for a week. Gaz lookin like a beast. They miss him down in Cedar Park, he was a fan favorite.

Posted by von_swine on December 06, 2013 at 12:21 AM

looked as if Bordeleau was almost 'out' on his feet during that barrage,...shame there's NO shame for the new-age tuffys in regards to wearin the shield, but oh well, that's 'showbiz'... Gadzooks w/some heavy knuckles and the W in this one.

Posted by mr hockey on December 07, 2013 at 10:03 AM

wow big bombs ,lucky Bordeleau didn't get knocked out

Posted by bobprobert95 on December 06, 2013 at 09:06 AM

Ouch, it's a good thing Pat didn't hit the mat on that TKO. That was punchers punch to stun Bordeleau. Linesmen needed to step in.

Posted by srehm1 on December 06, 2013 at 06:34 PM

Big win for Gazdic here. He landed a bomb that dropped Bordy who got back to his feet but was done.

Posted by staceyb on December 06, 2013 at 05:38 AM

Totally one-sided as Gazdic practically cremated Bordeleau. Bordy's effort symbolized the Avs' futility in the blowout loss. It is no coincidence that the Avs have cooled off since they traded Steve Downie while the Flyers have been surging.

Posted by breakupboss on December 06, 2013 at 07:06 AM

Luke hands down

Posted by rocky 1 on December 06, 2013 at 01:04 AM

Gazdic just proved he is Legit. He just put an ass whopping on one tough S.O.B.I think Bordeleau may be concussed as he was dropped twice.Even McGratton never did that to him.How could anyone with a brain and not sight impaired vote for a draw or for Bordy here.Even Bordy would say he lost! TKO.

Posted by boldbilly on December 06, 2013 at 08:29 AM

wow this Gazdic looks like the real thing.............nice of Bordeleau's sister to give him a vote here

Posted by plubber on December 13, 2013 at 12:28 AM

No question here, too many landed blows for Gazdik, easy winner. Looks good for Edmonton, but then again, Zack Stortini won his first few (until he met Rypien and others) Time will tell

Posted by rowbearprobear on December 08, 2013 at 10:39 PM

Gotta lose the lid in an important fight like this. And, Bordy at the end of a shift. Face shield is shameful. Especially when Luke was the aggressor. Not a fair drop for sure, but never saw a "champ" wear a visor.

Posted by Kaderson on December 06, 2013 at 10:08 AM

Woah. Borledeau with a loss... Did not expect that. Next: Gazdic vs McGrattan.

Posted by CofRed92 on December 06, 2013 at 12:03 AM

Gaz dropped Bordy for a second. Good fight.

Posted by Z.Zalapski on December 11, 2013 at 03:42 PM

Gazdic really clocks him early on there. Bordeleau is one tough cookie for getting back up. Kudos boys

Posted by gorman0 on December 06, 2013 at 11:19 AM

Gazdic just pounded you Bordeleau

Posted by Mark1967 on December 06, 2013 at 12:57 AM

I'd give Gazdic the TKO cause after he knocked down Bordeleau he just kept punching until his knuckles got

Posted by The Mad House on December 06, 2013 at 03:49 PM

Bordeleau starts out well... and then gets pounded. I did not see that one coming.

Posted by kyhammer on December 06, 2013 at 12:17 AM

Clear winner is Gazdic. Bordeleau took a beat down.

Posted by Great Murray on December 06, 2013 at 10:09 AM

So which of you clowns voted draw/win Bordeleau. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you fat fingered your key board! Gazdic knocks the guy out...pure and simple. So much for Bordeleau being the new baddest kid on the block...NOT SO MUCH!!!

Posted by ChuckinKnuckles on December 08, 2013 at 09:56 AM

Gazdic easily. I don't know why Dallas let this guy go. Props to Bordeleau for hanging in there after taking a shot that would have dropped most heavyweights. Gazdic, 7

Posted by dustyknuckles on December 06, 2013 at 09:00 AM

sweet geezus.... bordy got caught and paid for it.. he will have a headache.. win gazdic

Posted by Jet8484 on December 06, 2013 at 01:23 PM

Posted by mikeq on December 07, 2013 at 08:41 PM

Hate to say it, but for once have to agree with king of goons' given his perspective as to the visor being a huge advantage. Taking nothing away from Gaz, the rules are the rules and he's earned the credit he's due for what he's proven so doubt a top contender in the HW class, but that face shield gives him an edge over any visorless opponent.

Posted by Clowes ABeast29 on December 06, 2013 at 10:50 AM

Ouch Bordeleau got pounded.

Posted by pepsigenerate on December 07, 2013 at 11:30 AM

Have to give it to Gazdic....Patrick Bordeleau gets dummied...Kinda like the Eric Godard KO on Steve MacIntyre but MacIntyre wobbled down to the ice........Rematch is called for Bordeleau/Gazdic Dec 19th...who will move up the Ranks??

Posted by GoDucks8 on December 06, 2013 at 08:38 PM

Finally, someone can beat this bordeleau monster kids a beast I think he and grats are the toughest in the show. Props to gazdic on that bomb he landed, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was pure luck. Also for you chumps sticking up for the visor boy. pat marroon on my ducks un buckles his chin strap before they throw every time. There are loopholes to this lame rule besides the dumb stuff early in the year where guys were removing each others lids. Un buckle your chin strap and the buckets will fly on the first punch!

Posted by streak53 on December 06, 2013 at 06:39 PM

The bomb by gazdic was huge. Bordy landed a barrage if early shots to the helmet among other places. Would both helmets being off make a difference maybe. The one bomb that Bordy did land to the side of gazdic a helmet might have shaken him up. Gazdic got the big shot then one more that was legit. The refs should have stepped in sooner as Bordy was looking away. And clearly not with us as he was chasing the dinner bell. IMO kinda cheap shots at the end as he knew Bordy was shaken up.

Posted by Michelle724 on December 06, 2013 at 12:09 AM

Rare loss for Bordy. Don't often see him get dropped or cut. Clear win for Gazdic.

Posted by joe heathen on December 06, 2013 at 11:36 PM

two heavyweights, props to Bordeleau for getting back to his feet after the big right from Gadzik..that right decided the fight..Gadzik clearly

Posted by MansonKOStevens on December 08, 2013 at 02:26 AM

Bordeleau is better than this...

Posted by francoisleroux on December 06, 2013 at 12:53 AM

Bordeleau has the wingspan of a 747, but, as the saying goes, timing is everything. And Gazdic had the timing in this one, twice in a row. TKO Gazdic

Posted by Don Berry on December 06, 2013 at 07:39 AM

Why didn't the lineman's jump on stop this fight? Clearly Bordeleau was dazed and could harldy defend himself. This is how guys get hurt!!

Posted by jnk07899 on December 06, 2013 at 07:48 PM

My question is this: What is this poosewah Gazdic doing still wearing a visor? He's proven he's going to fight the big boys. Lose the visor bro. Clown shoes.

Posted by Joe Rock on December 06, 2013 at 07:38 AM

Gazdic lands a beauty and drops Bordeleau.

Posted by Humper on December 06, 2013 at 09:06 AM

Posted by bobowen34 on December 06, 2013 at 11:33 AM

I don't recall seeing Bordeleau get beat too many time. Yikes - that was a pounding.

Posted by Snoka on December 06, 2013 at 02:44 PM

That is what you call a TKO!

Posted by kkdowning on December 09, 2013 at 05:49 PM

Posted by 4thLineGoon on December 06, 2013 at 09:05 AM

Gazdic with the upset!

Posted by Madhouse27 on December 06, 2013 at 08:06 AM

Gazdic landed a real beauty that had Bordeleau on queer street. Bordy did somehow manage to get back to his feet, but it might not have been the best strategy in this one. Others might have let up or called the refs in to attend to the injured player but Luke goes for the kill. This definitely adds an exciting dynamic to the rivalry between these two young heavyweights.

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on December 06, 2013 at 10:18 PM

GAZDIC pounded Bordy hard. He should have stayed down after that bomb to the head.

Posted by BluesAreTheBest on December 06, 2013 at 09:47 PM

Posted by AnotherWalter on December 07, 2013 at 01:38 AM

Bordy early and Gazdic late with a bomb that saved him from a beating like the one he took from McGratten.

Posted by NickG on December 06, 2013 at 12:28 PM

Patrick, that is not the dinner bell ringing between your ears. Borderline hit(arguable, I know) was met with appropriate dispproval. Btw, what was Bordeleau waving at just before Luke paid his visit? Maybe it was goodbye to his marbles. Btw, linesman took too long to step in, my thoughts. Patrick was not with us for the 2nd half of that fight. Big boy W for Luke who could still eat 50 eggs.

Posted by bberg on December 09, 2013 at 05:18 PM

holy shit, didnt see that one coming, gazdic schooled him! that's the first time I ever seen bordeleau take a beating. gazdic moves up in my book to a true contender!

Posted by Hawkeyman62 on December 06, 2013 at 04:57 PM

Ouch!! One and done. Win Gazdic.

Posted by Lightishred on December 09, 2013 at 09:25 PM

Anyone who says Bordeleau wins is a fool. Gazdic with the punch that stuns Big B and sends him to the ice. Clear win Gazdic.

Posted by thebiff on December 06, 2013 at 09:41 AM

I cant believe they let that go on. Bordeleau was totally dazed

Posted by mufdivr on December 06, 2013 at 08:17 PM

Too bad Bordeleau was reaching to get his helmet off when he got the solid punch that put him on one knee. It's not a even start when one player has to worry about punching a visor so he has to get the helmet off.

Posted by oiler4life on December 24, 2013 at 12:45 AM

WOW ,,,GAZDIC ROCKED BORDELEAU....KO...HAD HIM ON QUEER STREET, Bordeleau one tough s.o.b. though....but ate a couple of real beauties..big win for gazdic

Posted by kryon24 on December 06, 2013 at 11:00 AM

New contender for the title?? I like Gazdic ever since we saw him dropping people at the rookie camps a few years back. Him and Anthony Peluso looked the most promising but of course the Dead Wings passed on both and went with the usual euro wuss. On to the fight, Gazdic drills him with the first right,a kind of delayed reaction shot that drops him but Bordi gets back up to eat 2-3 more and looks like he forgot what he was doing. I think he asked the ref for "no anchovies" please. Clear and decisive win for Gazdic.

Posted by BooSanta on December 08, 2013 at 10:34 AM

Luke rocked the cut. Zebs showed mercy. Bord showed blood. Fight fans got their bytes worth here.

Posted by Bear72 on December 06, 2013 at 08:46 AM

Pat got the shit knocked out of him he was out on his feet what an ass kicking

Posted by ocrage on December 06, 2013 at 12:01 PM

Ouch, that punch that Gazdic landed on him even hurt me. I couldn't help but feel bad for Pat after that because he kept trying to go and Luke just punished him.

Posted by Spinner55 on December 06, 2013 at 07:48 AM

Gazdic provides Oilers with some toughness. Too bad the Oilers are far from being "team tough" It's like pissing against a forest fire.

Posted by sulley71 on December 06, 2013 at 04:03 PM

This Gazdic guy looks like the real deal!

Posted by gpembert on December 07, 2013 at 06:42 PM

Posted by hebs1996 on December 08, 2013 at 08:36 AM

Gazdic keeps proving he's a legit heavyweight by beating a proven in Bordeleau! Western conference has the upper eschelon of legit heavyweights

Posted by Ronnie82 on December 07, 2013 at 05:20 PM

WOW. Bordy starts strong but eats a huge power bomb that leaves him on queer street! Luke goes to town and feeds this guy more rights than the charter! A standing TKO, can't believe Bordy didn't go out. Beauty eh!

Posted by Pug Face on December 06, 2013 at 09:00 AM

I love this gazdic. What a show...I'm sure we'll see part two.

Posted by kellsteener on December 06, 2013 at 08:58 AM

Whoa! Was not 'spectin' that. Gazdic is one tough bugger, but then again, anything can happen when two heavies are swinging for the fences.  Hope there's no concussion for Bordeleau

Posted by Joegizmo on December 13, 2013 at 08:12 PM

My first critique. PB got smoked. The shaggy Canadian did well. Devilsadvocate mentioned Clifford fading from the scene. Is that what happened to Bollig?

Posted by P. Rizzo on December 06, 2013 at 04:21 AM

Loved how Gazdic takes a flurry of punches (6-7) at the start, hangs tough, than rocks Bordeleau. Did Bordeleau insult the linesmen before the game?

Posted by Irish Up on January 22, 2014 at 07:18 PM

We interupt the Bordeleau show to bring you this breaking story "BOOM" How about, since there's a new visor rookie rule, put in a new "rule" to the fight code, first grab each others helmets, then square off. Start the fight honorably, & it would also cut down the whining on this site by 95 percent. Ill still expect to hear some cryin every time a Bruin beats someone's ass.

Posted by pooleyacht on December 08, 2013 at 06:13 PM

Some solid shots by Gazdic that land right on big Pat Bordeleaus face. Having his ass handed to him well deserved after that boarding.

Posted by Sudburyfan on December 06, 2013 at 08:20 AM

Posted by dapwas20 on December 06, 2013 at 11:40 PM

Gadzic with the TKO. having said that, we all can see these two still have unsettled business. Us hawk fans can only wish we had enforcers of this quality...

Posted by Bruins170 on March 07, 2014 at 03:49 PM

The problem was Bordeleau was trying to get the helmet off because of the visor. Then he get clobbered by a couple of rights.

Posted by norsefan on December 06, 2013 at 08:36 AM

Great fight. It appeared that Bordeleau had the early advantage. Gazdic was just too scrappy though.

Posted by kingpaolo on December 07, 2013 at 01:09 PM

Didn't see this whup ass coming from Gazdic ... Bordeleau should be ashamed of himself ...

Posted by Big_Fat_Dan on December 06, 2013 at 01:54 AM

Posted by GradyCole on December 06, 2013 at 08:59 PM

Wow, that was definitely one-sided.

Posted by brownie21 on December 07, 2013 at 02:37 PM

A good scrap Gazdic with the clear win. However, it does appear on replay that Bordeleau was looking for a line change, maybe he was gassed but still took up the challenge.

Posted by bigdog2007 on December 06, 2013 at 10:54 AM

Gazdic! Was not expecting that! King of Goons? King of Pinheads maybe...

Posted by FHgrad99 on December 08, 2013 at 03:15 AM

I don't know how Bordeleau was still standing after some of the shots he took from Gazdic here. Gazdic with a dominating win over one of the toughest of the tough in the NHL.

Posted by Wooly on December 07, 2013 at 12:47 PM

Posted by TERMINATOR on December 06, 2013 at 02:06 AM

Gazdic Lays down a beat down on the much bigger Bordeleau. Rated 7.

Posted by jimmat on December 06, 2013 at 05:26 PM

TKO Gazdic with the bomb that had Bordeleau wobbling. Goodness that was a shot. Gman continues to impress.

Posted by Eastern3276 on December 06, 2013 at 07:20 AM

Once again Gazdic shows he will take on anyone and WIN. I get the feeling Gazer would be happy to remove the visor and lid but the rules prohibit it. Is he the King of the NHL hill?

Posted by Biggus on December 06, 2013 at 12:30 AM

Gazdic lands a bomb and while Bordeleau gets back up he is never back in it.

Posted by buzzgun2000 on December 07, 2013 at 12:27 AM

The official checking on Bordeleau in the box knew that something was amiss when Patrick told him that his order of fried calamari never arrived....

Posted by shawn46 on December 06, 2013 at 08:22 AM

Bordeleau said to refs after that.... "Where the were you guys? and who left that whisper chipper on the ice! and by the way... Someone answer that phone!"

Posted by slavv on December 06, 2013 at 11:51 AM

This result surprised me! Gazdic was taking a few then took advantage of an outstretched Bordeleau, cutting and dropping him. Bordeleau did well getting back up but was saved by the linesmen....

Posted by tigersw00d on December 06, 2013 at 03:45 AM

Look out heavyweights the new upcoming champ is making his way through, just have to have a rematch against mcgratz

Posted by sedinfan on December 06, 2013 at 01:31 AM

Holy Crap, Bordeleau gets totally owned. Linesmen were slow getting in there as he looked hurt. rematch on the 19th will only happen if Bordeleau isn't concussed. Edmonton wins everything on this night.

Posted by mygameworn on December 06, 2013 at 01:07 AM

I did not think that was going to happen...

Posted by GoonVisor on December 06, 2013 at 12:46 AM

Complete domination by a visor wearing charlatan. Draw. 6. BS

Posted by Sasky001 on December 06, 2013 at 12:25 AM

TKO. Nobody is stopping Bordeleau from wearing a visor. His mom/wife would probably prefer that he put one on.

Posted by MacAttack33 on December 06, 2013 at 12:49 AM

Who ever wants Gazdic to take the visor off should complain to the league. He would have took another penalty if he took it off.... Everyone will where visors in a year or two because of this rule. IMO your retarded if you take your own helmet off before a fight, visors or not. Anyway Gazdic with the win. No disputing that.

Posted by King of Goons on December 06, 2013 at 12:13 AM

This visor crap has got to stop NOW! If a player is wearing a visor, both players should remove their helmets before fighting. There will be no man power advantage if both players take their helmets off. I will not give anyone who fights with a visor on a win under ANY circumstance because, as we just saw in this fight, it puts the other player at a HUGE disadvantage. Bordeleau is one of the toughest guys in the business, but after the first few punches of hitting helmet and visor we see Gazdick swinging away freely and landing bombs on Bordeleau with impunity. I have no dog in the fight here, as I could give a rats a$$ about either one of these teams, but what's right is right. Player's need to start adapting to this stupid visor rule and create their own code of ethics when it comes to fighting. NO FRIGGIN' VISORS. If Gazdick would take his visor off to fight he would get all the respect in the world, but until then he is half a f*g in my book for trying to unload on people with that freakin' piece of plexiglass on his face shielding him from danger. Vote LOSE for the visor!
