Barney Rubble, admirably hangs in there...
at least, until it becomes painfully obvious
that he has no answer for Scott's reach.

Uneventful, but, surprisngly, not as one-sided, as you might think.

Janssen got in the best punch but overall Scott took the decision.

9 inch reach advantage and no beatdown. Janssen hung in there pretty good and Scott sure didn't look too impressive. Will we ever see the day that Chara fights him or the return of McIntyre so we can actually see how he does against someone as tall as him.

For a guy who gets punched in the head alot, Janssen is a smart fighter. But Scott is still undefeated

Janssen's gigantic brass balls lose narrowly. Say what you want, but this dude is fearless.
Lucic loses to Scott. End of story. Lucic's greatest advantage is his reach, which is nullified by Scott's ungodly length.

And I agree 100% with scorp1on. Chara is tough enough to hang in there with Scott, but has awful balance in fights. Scott has exceptional balance for a big man. If Chara could stay upright, then a Scott-Chara experience could be one for the ages. But I doubt it would happen- Chara is too valuable on the ice.

Biased10Year-old Lover and Kokehead2694 no doubt wetting their pants prematurely with this one... Big John Scudd gets the win and pretty much toys with Janssen, but you have to expect more, and we as fans deserve more, with all his "hype."

Just to recap.. Scudd was on the ice for 5 minutes, in the box for 5, and was a minus 1... I only see Chara taking him on with the B's in command, because as usual, Scudd's biggest impact was a pregame 12 incher in his porcelain throne.

Lame fight for the so called tough guy. Like I said, he is not a heavyweight contender until he fights a couple true big boys. He could easily have gotten a Lucic fight if he got in his face with a tough hit or something. Same for Chara, but he chose to ask Thornton to dance. Then from the bench at the end of the game he acts tough. Please.
Lucic has fought Orr, Erskine, Ivanins, Rosehill, Sestito, Carkner, Boll, etc.
Chara has fought Shelley, Laraque, Brashear, etc.
Let's see Scott stop fighting with the smallest heavies like Janssen or even Thornton for that matter. If Scott wants Lucic or Chara in the next game it's simple: take a clean run at them or one of our smaller forwards and he'll have his fight. That was Laraque's problem too. He was an over the hill goon asking a young power forward to fight. That would have been like Probert asking Neely to fight. Not gonna happen UNLESS they are angered enough to act on emotion. Still a ****ty trade off but i dint think anyone is scared of John "lurch" Scott. Please.

Win Big John Studd...good effort from CJ

Draw. Janssen ties up Scott very well throughout and dodges almost all punches except a couple roundhouses which do no real damage. Gets a couple in as well. nice show of defensive skill. Janssen's always been good at turning fights into a bog.
For those who think Chara can take Scott - Get real. Here's the fight description which you can freely cut and paste when it happens: Chara looks angry and moves towards Scott. They grab on, Scott throws a couple. Chara loses his balance and falls. Now that that's out of the way, if McGrattan or big Mac eventually fight Scott they will actually try to go toe to toe and those will be the only real fights that will occur this year for Scott. Everyone else, like Cam, will try to tie him up.

I think I've got to call this one a draw, between two tough customers. Big John seemed to be in control of the fight but a couple of those nice straight punches from Cam landed flush. It appears that the Rangers have enough talent to be able to dress John Scott most of the time despite his liability as a player and limited shifts per game.

I went with a draw...not because JS was bad, or CJ was better, but because donking your fist 3x against the helmet of a guy 3/4 your size doesn't a fight win. (CJ's punches came up just an inch short of JS's beak, or this woulda been one-sided.) Watching JS skate away and double over grabbing his right hand afterwards shows me who hurt the most after this one, but because he had the reach and easier time of it I give it the draw.

Win Big John Stud, no surprise here at these two go again. We're already missing John over here in Chi-town :( Hope to see more of this from the big man

BigBadBruin22: Maybe you should wait till Scott actually goes with Chara or Lucic before claiming whether Scott is tough or not because he is still undefeated.
