OK,...given the fact that describing Pouliot as...
''one of the greatest disappointments in National Hockey League history''
may be...
''one of the greatest over exaggerations in National Hockey League history''...
...at least, the ''homers'' got the sentiment right,
as that ''attempted hit'', was Cooke-ian'' in it's intent,
and, bush-league in it's cheapness.
It's just too bad that Ferrence couldn't deliver
the proper punch-out, pay-back, retribution,
that Pouliot so richly deserved..

The fight was a draw; the incident leading up to it was a flagrant elbow on Boychuk by Pouliot. Good for Ference for taking him on.

Some pretty emotional posts on here, must be Boston vs Montreal fans as well as the game. i will call it a draw as a Vancouverite. The announcers were a little over the top for sure and calling someone on any team one of the biggest dissapointments in National league history is a little over the top and a little bush league. I love the Bruins second to my Canucks, but I wonder if these announcers mentioned that trading Joe Thornton was the greatest trade in NHL history. i would bet not.

Not a fan of either team, but Ference eeks out a win. More interesting is the ridiculous announcing from NESN, apparently that was the dirtiest, most "gutless" hit ever in the NHL (to go along with Pouliot being the biggest bust ever in the NHL -- hunnh?). Normally these announcers are better than this, but this brings them CLOSE to the level of the two moyocks that announce the Penguins games who are insufferable.

Anyway, Ference should have let Thornton (or even Lucic) handle things because Pouliot deserved some retribution.

Ahh...good to be back after some technical issues from my end.
Gotta love the feisty ference, will go against anyone for the right reasons.
Both threw one or two with nothing landing, concluding with a mutual take down.
I can see there are a lot of homer votes but I see a DRAW.
Scoring 5's down the list.

A broken clock is right twice a day.

Ha ha what a horrible hit. If that wasn't blatant then grass isn't green and the sky isn't blue. Draw and a 4. Too bad a different Bruin didn't get to him first. Thats the kind of hit you need to get your clock cleaned for throwing. And yeah, every person comments every Boston fight about it, but those announcers were atrocious here. Usually I love their over the top homerism, but calling Montreal the source of derision is idiotic. Don't want either team to make it to the finals, though I'd like my hometown boy Recchi (dumb comments or not) to hoist the cup one more time.

FerDeLance draws with Poopyart....Jack was right about Poopyart..also Jumbo Joe does not perform in the playoffs...see San Jose for proof

Cheap attempted hit by Pouliot and got the charging penalty for it. Ferrence should've gotten the instigator, but we all know that no Bruin ever gets that called. Pouliot didn't have time to shed the lid and seemed to catch Ferrence with a big right at the start, which is probably the one that cut Ferrence. The announcers didn't get much of anything right with the call as Pouliot actually ended on top after the takedown. Edge to Pouliot.

Who is the other announcer thats not jack edwards? hes drinking the same kool-aid as jack he should learn from another announcer.
This was the worst call of a fight i have ever heard jesus at least show a little bi-partisanism i dont care if you are homers... they just cut pouliots nuts off and gave them to the bruins in a glass case...and the referees arm went up IMMEDIATELY to call the charge yet both jack and the other loser missed it.

Who are these pieces of sh^t on the mikes? What homer, punk-ass, scumbag, pieces of garbage. What jokes these loser buffoons are, their spewing makes listening to these fights a chore. Volume off from now on. Screw off you clowns.

Draw. I have no homer dog in this fight, just on a rant against bush-league announcers ruining what should be a great game (and series) to watch.

It was an awful hi and should have been an elbowng major
However, the commentators did go a bit over the top
Slight edge Ference in a 5
Would like to see at least 5 game suspension for this hit, if not more

Pouliot would have not dropped the gloves unless it was against someone smaller but he still loses the fight.
