Minnesota GOONSQUAD Respect Boll for not getting his head smashed Call it a draw due to the fact Boogy man should have knocked the F%ck outta Boll but tired out like the bitch he is

Posted by billy jack on January 24, 2010 at 01:29 AM

bolls got a lot of balls fighting a guy twice his size,he should of watched how mirasty beat him.

Posted by Bosoxshute on January 24, 2010 at 01:29 PM

all you fruits out there that are in love with Boogaard need to pull your heads out. This was a draw all the way. Boogie threw a few more, but none landed. Draw all the way. Nice nut shot by Boll

Posted by Dovermv on January 24, 2010 at 12:16 AM

Wow Boogaard beat a middle weight. What a joke. If he lost to somebody is out weight's by 60Lbs he should quit.

i only wish there was a stan johnathan out there to kick boogards ass

Everyone says to give credit to Boll....credit for what???? ... being STUPID?!!? Sometimes you have to use your head other than to be pounded on. He's lucky his head is still attached.

Posted by The Mob on January 25, 2010 at 09:09 PM

Win has to go to the green giant. The NHL should dress up a bull in a hockey jersey, stick a hot poker in it's arse, and then let him go at Booger. It's the only way to get fairness.

Posted by sulley71 on January 25, 2010 at 12:53 AM

Not much of a fight, even though Boogard won, I'm giving more credit to Boll, he showed up!!!

Posted by shrk33 on January 24, 2010 at 05:49 PM

The result of this is no surprise-Boogaard wins easily

Posted by blbjd on January 24, 2010 at 10:37 AM

props to Boll for actually fighting. Clear win to Boogie.

Posted by Bad Dawg on January 25, 2010 at 02:30 PM

Does Boll have a death wish??!! Linesmen saved him from a near death experience. Good show Boll!!!

Posted by b.t.wilson on January 24, 2010 at 08:51 AM

i don't care much for the guy, because he's huge and frightening, but boogaard is THE measuring stick in the NHL for fighters. a lot of people will argue about who's the champ, but though he's gone down a couple times, boogaard is the man to beat, no doubt.

Posted by Davids on January 24, 2010 at 12:48 PM

Props to Boll??? For what, being a moron? If Boogaard had instigated the fight then I would give props to Boll, just for droppin em with Boogie, but Boll instigated it,for what reason I cant figure. Why the hell does anyone with at least 2 brain cells wanna fight Derek Boogaard? Boogie won the fight handily.............For those who voted for Boll, the medication cart will be by in about 15 minutes.

Posted by TeamSweden on January 25, 2010 at 02:49 PM

Boogaard rules. Too bad that Boll was saved by the linesmen. I don’t know why they stopped the fight. Boll started the fight. Boll wanted the fight. I don't get it. Why don't let Boll have it.

Posted by smichaels10 on January 24, 2010 at 10:36 PM

Complete domination by Boogaard. Boll is a tough dude but he's way overmatched with Boogaard....like most people are. That guy is a monster.

Posted by tdepinto on January 24, 2010 at 09:27 AM

Had Boogaard's big right have connected Boll might have been killed. LOL. Did you see the force and speed of that right that just missed? WOW!

Posted by nixu on January 24, 2010 at 03:14 AM

Boll did a good job here and survive. Boogaard didnt land many but enough to win.

Posted by Leafs2006 on January 28, 2010 at 12:05 AM

gomermv , maybe you shoud fight Boogard, moron, he outweighs 99% of all fighters......idiot! Boogard showing he's the new champ of the NHL....especially since BGL is done for the year. Woof Woof!

Posted by Behn Wilson on January 24, 2010 at 08:10 AM

Decent commentary by the announcers, (what!!?...I know, but it happens so rarely that you have to point it out). Props to Boll for even trying, but this ended about as one-sided as everyone expected it to be. Slight correction... when I agreed with boxshute earlier on the Konopka-Vlabik fight,, I actually misread his review, and assumed he was talking about ''these two guys'', not ''these two teams''. My apologies to all Thrasher and Lightning fans. But not to Zenon and Boris.

Posted by kryon24 on January 24, 2010 at 11:31 AM

Lucky it wasn't a TKO or KO. Boogie is just way to big for Boll although I'll give him credit for even trying. Can't wait till someone of McGratts or Godard get in there and start exchanging with nthat Freak and then we'll see how he takes it. Dominating win by Freak on a leash.

Posted by aaronious on January 24, 2010 at 09:53 AM

He's BACK. Lovin' Boogaard's play this season.

Posted by The Peach on January 29, 2010 at 03:26 PM

Posted by ENFORCER 24 on January 24, 2010 at 03:46 AM

"Too much leverage, too much reach and a whole lotta strength and Bolls kind of in trouble on this one..." The play by play guy gets it right. Clear win Boogaard.

boogie is a monster, boll seems to be a little doll,,,,,,,wow!!

Posted by frankiesfly on January 24, 2010 at 04:16 AM

Are some of you so pathetic that you still talk about laraque beating the Boogeyman. Cmon people get a life. Laraque hasnt fought Boogy in 4 years now, lol. Sad

Posted by snaggletooth on January 24, 2010 at 12:26 PM

Bottom line ,all you Boogie haters should be happy he is in the league, and you know what ,he will fight anyone, anytime.Big Ern got smacked down by Boogie. He is by FAR the KING OF THE RING in the NHL.Deal with IT.

Posted by tattooedkingpin on January 24, 2010 at 02:30 PM

Love the Boogie Man. Linesmen saved Boll

Posted by staceyb on January 24, 2010 at 09:27 AM

Ah, the big "what if" had Boogaard connected with that huge overhand right. Funny thing is that earlier in the first period Boogaard almost tipped in a shot that would have been his first NHL goal. The play-by-play announcer joked that it was his 203rd game and Boogaard had told him earlier, "Do you have to be so specific?"

Posted by tonydomi1 on January 24, 2010 at 07:59 AM

Boogey with the "W". Boll is one ballsey kid taking on the gargantuan. Once again the linesmen stepped in and saved someones life! This is starting to look to easy for the Boogeyman.

Posted by bruiser11 on January 27, 2010 at 12:37 PM

The big goon Derek Boogaard is going to seriously kill someone one of these days, He ain't much of a player, but there isn't anyone who can handle him in the fight cause that's all he prepares for. Plus he's 6-8 260. 10 times out of 10 a mismatch. Even the others his height around the league couldn't absorb the blows if he lands.

Posted by adambomb13 on January 24, 2010 at 12:57 PM

Boll is a weasel, but he always will have a go with anyone and usually holds his own. Way too much Boogeyman for the weasel to handle. Who voted for Boll apart from brokenleg (mcb69withmen) If I were the Boogeyman I'd be suprised almost anytime some wanted to drop em'. I respect Derek in that he can usually murder someone right on the spot and especially in this case (that right that missed was wicked) and will usually administer enough of a beating without seriously caving in someones skull. He is the champ of hockey without question with or without BGL, BGL in the last couple seasons lost the spark.

Posted by allienmort on January 23, 2010 at 11:13 PM

Boogey just toys with Boll a bit. Easy win for Boogey. I wonder if his voice is a little high after the stick to the nads!

Posted by Towmater on January 24, 2010 at 03:18 PM

Obvious win for the freak of nature Boo. but Boll gets my respect for having the balls to fight the freak, and for fighting smart against the freak.

Posted by rocky 1 on February 13, 2010 at 10:52 PM

No contest Boogard rules the Nhl Period!

Posted by giantsfrey on January 24, 2010 at 04:09 PM

i don't think boogard was going to fight him or planned on it at first, but boll kept jabbing him at the circle with cheap shots, so boogard was like 'fine, i guess i'll beat up my hand with your head' and then proceeded to do so. win boogie man, boll and the bluejackets were all weak this game

Posted by crosscheck52 on January 25, 2010 at 09:26 PM

Boll hung in there and probably would have gotten clocked sooner or later, but give him credit and it wasn't a TKO, but Boogaard just brings too much to the table in this match up.

Posted by Jmoy on January 25, 2010 at 02:46 PM

Linemen jumped in but the second to last right was solid and, maybe from behind, it looked like Boll was going down as he lost his balance and was stumbleing. I think they did the right thing by jumping in. Also, you can't fault Boogaard for the fight, Boll wanted it so Boogaard gave it. No one wants to fight him anymore so he has a tough time getting good matches

Posted by Brujo on January 24, 2010 at 12:29 AM

Boogaard a monster, give boll credit for trying

Posted by shuckthefarks on January 25, 2010 at 01:58 PM

Clear TKO for Boogey on the stoppage. I am surprised the linesman stepped in in the middle of it like that. Boll clearly initiated it so he got what he asked for.

Posted by brody005 on January 25, 2010 at 09:27 AM

Boll looked like he was holding on for life. Why mess with Boogaard

Posted by GCBC00 on January 24, 2010 at 01:16 PM

You stick me in the balls, I'll do the same thing to you, no matter how big you think you are. What was Boll thinking by sticking Boogaard in the nuts!?! It's bad enough he is, like, 7 feet tall, now you want to piss him off too? Give Boll props for trying, but also give him a slap in the face for sticking one of the toughest guys in the league, in the balls. Not smart, my man. Derek seemed to just toy with Boll throughout the fight and was looking to knock his head off his shoulders. The announcers said, "who wants to go with Boogaard?' Well, Laraque did but Derek declined. WIN BOOGAARD

Posted by Oglethorpe15 on January 24, 2010 at 12:27 AM

There's a reason the Boll's and the McGrattan's of the world don't fight Boogard willingly. Another testament to why.

Posted by tomdetroit on January 25, 2010 at 08:19 PM

Boogey wins. Give Boll an A for effort, but sometimes he's got more guts than brains.

Posted by anklebreak75 on January 26, 2010 at 03:44 PM

Boll was way out of weight class. Still he just got worked, it looked like boondogal didn't even try. Wlison's right, for once the announcers were on spot

Posted by fernben8 on January 24, 2010 at 09:04 AM

Would love to have these two on my team. Boll just shows how much guts he has.. and great job in avoiding those rights! W Boogey man.

Posted by sedinfan on January 23, 2010 at 11:31 PM

It would be nice to see Boogie actually fight someone, it has been over a month since he actually fought a heavyweight (McGratten). Time he went with goddard who KO'd him twice last year or one of the other real heavyweights instead of these lightweights he picks.

Posted by rwallum on January 24, 2010 at 06:33 AM

Slight edge to Boll? When did brokenleg stop grading this fight? After Boll brought his stick up into Boogaard's balls? That was pretty much where Boll lost his advantage is when he actually had to try to defend himself. And sedinfan still sounds a little upset that 3 of the Canucks boys got smoked their last trip into town. For those bitching about Boogaard picking middleweights, try actually watching these fights next time. When you're Boogey's size you don't need to look for a fight, it always seems to come looking for you, and more often than not finds itself on its back or its a$$.

Posted by kronvallizer78 on January 24, 2010 at 03:56 AM

jarred boll is such an unbelievable punk, but as always you get what you deserve. boogieman throwing haymakers in this one a couple landed right in there. boll just tryin to hang in the rest of the way and gets his behind kicked until the refs show mercy. WIN Boogie

Posted by jakethesnake on January 25, 2010 at 04:25 PM

Maybe Booger landed good shots, maybe he didnt.....Point is Boll looked like Hornswaggle from the WWE, Booger has the Mojo, Boll was praying that the troll godz whould save him, bottom line- Boll was scared and $hit himself, booger fan or not....................

Posted by cobert7 on January 24, 2010 at 01:23 AM

Diffrent weight class. Boogaard easily

Posted by flooder on January 25, 2010 at 11:43 PM

boll did a nice job hang on at first. But boogaard was just to much if the linesmen did'nt jumb in it would have been a ko

Posted by drpkick82 on January 27, 2010 at 04:19 AM

No guts, no glory. I gotta give it to Boll though. I sure wouldn't want to drop the mitts with Boogey.

Posted by FiveFoFightin on January 24, 2010 at 12:41 AM

What the hell are the linesman stepping in for?? Let that little [email protected]#$% Boll get the beating he DESERVES!!! He didn't even throw a punch, he just strapped on the seat belt!! What's even more hysterical is someone named "sedinfan" spouting off about fighting! Maybe you should know what your talking about before you open your pie hole!!

Posted by tyrone on January 25, 2010 at 01:01 AM

Hey Morons such as Bosox. Just because you don't like the champ doesn't mean you shouldn't be objective. Clear win for Boogie even though he didn't land the big bombs. Boll got tagged hard with a right eraly in the fight and took it well. He also checks his mouth for blood as he skates to the box. He owes the linesman dinner for saving his life. Boll started this and got what he deserved. Boogie can't help who he fights, but he will never back down from anyone. BGL wouldn't go with him earlier this year. Belak and MacDaddy did and they lost. Boogie is the guy to beat hands down.

Posted by Jellyczar on January 26, 2010 at 02:28 PM

Boll waaay out of his league with the boogeyman...

Posted by wacbzz on January 24, 2010 at 06:46 PM

All you knuckleheads that think Boll should get props for "standing up to Boogaard" are just morons. Boll is waaaaay out of his league with Boogaard. The props should go to the linesmen for stepping in and saving Boll from any serious harm.

Posted by wildfan4eva on January 24, 2010 at 12:14 AM

Boogaard with easy win against the smaller Boll; however, Boll initiated the fight so he had it coming! Sedindouche-Do your research before you open your snatch; Boogaard has beat Godard 3 out of 4 times. Every fighter loses once and awhile, get over it. I enjoy you people whom bring up BS in attempt to discredit Boogy in one way or another, but you know what dipshits? This site is here for rating and commenting on the fights, not other BS that involves the other aspects of the game. If you want to talk about finesse ability or whatever, go somewhere else where someone cares, your wasting your fukn breath talking that shit in here.

boogaard with the easy win in this fight.

Posted by dmsiii on January 25, 2010 at 12:55 PM

Let's see if we can arrange the correct opponents for Tomales2 so he doesn't have to worry about size mismatches. What's Boogard supposed to do? Just skate away because Boll is smaller, even after Boll hit Boogard in the sack with his stick?

Posted by Floppy on January 24, 2010 at 02:30 AM

Read BGL´s blog and you know who the tough guys are in the league.. btw.. no question who won that one.. boll could be happy to survive this scrap

Posted by metz87 on January 24, 2010 at 04:46 PM

Even the army likes to see a good fight or two in a hockey game. Boogaard pretty much destroyed Boll here.

Posted by dmi17 on February 10, 2017 at 05:35 PM

This website is full of retarded apes as it can be seen in votings (and I'm talking about other fights where the voting is extremely biased). You gotta give Boll credit for what?! For doing his job and failing at it. Boll was the aggresor in this one and dropped his gloves first. He got what was coming to him. And it was clear that Boogaard obviously let up on Boll a little bit as he could have seriously injured him. I like my enforcers to be mean and when they fight, they fight, no showing mercy to the smaller guy. It's funny how retards here complain how the NHL is being pussified but at the same time they complain why the big guy didn't let up on the smaller dude. Shitty website that's all I got to say, people here are so dumb that it's not even funny, I wish the guy who runs this site would stop the possibility to comment. Bunch of retarded morons who probably live in their parents' basement with head deep up their asses. It's very likely that apes in the jungle are a lot smarter than the majority of people in this site.

Posted by grappler11 on January 24, 2010 at 11:31 PM

note to Boll, don't hit the big guy in the "jewels" unless you REALLY want to make him mad, announcers were pretty funny and pretty honest. Boogaard is a big strong guy who really has good balance, who may be the baddest dude in the nhl

Posted by baggydomer on January 24, 2010 at 04:00 AM

Boll is considered a "tough guy", but seems to win less than 25% of his fights. I guess a guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do if he ain't that good of an actual hockey player. He might be a worse tough guy than hockey play. Tight call. Not a tight call on this bout. Boogaard from start to finish.

Posted by sunny8 on January 28, 2010 at 04:54 PM

Boogaard dominated and controlled the whole fight, Boll did a good job just to not get knocked down avoiding any major blows.

Posted by carolyn1946 on January 24, 2010 at 11:14 AM

boogaard..

Posted by Pred2Win on January 25, 2010 at 10:10 PM

I know guys get paid to do it, but who in their right mind would willfully drop them with Boogaard?

Posted by Goldthorp on January 24, 2010 at 02:33 PM

Boogaard easily wins. If the refs stop the fight for fear of injury, as they obviously did, should this fight be considered a TKO?

Posted by DrRock62 on December 25, 2014 at 11:21 PM

Derek knocked the cr*p out of Jared.

Posted by Arjai on January 24, 2010 at 05:14 AM

Boll was obviously coerced by his couch to start this, because the were down. He was lucky Boogaard didn't send him to Region's Hospital! I give Boll credit for going and surviving, but he was dominated.

Posted by STEVEO74 on January 26, 2010 at 01:38 AM

Clear W for the Boogie Man.

Posted by bruiseyoureye on January 24, 2010 at 11:21 AM

boll is lucky the refs stepped in or he would have been in the intensive care unit...easy win boogaard.

Posted by ThrowdownSJ408 on January 24, 2010 at 05:32 AM

Dude It was all Boogey in this one but seriously boogey could be a much better fighter. I wish he would fight more often and more intense. He always seems really surprised someones gonig to fight him. I just wish he was more bad ass. Such a gentle Giant no one ever picked on him like jordan tootoo hahahahahahahaha

Posted by wetstick on January 24, 2010 at 01:09 AM

at least boll showed up, but he still took a massive beating Easy domination win for boogy I like the Blue jackets broadcast- the announcers were speechless and when they finally said something it sounded like they were watching an execution... ha ha ha

Posted by slodrive on January 25, 2010 at 09:50 AM

Dumb fight. Again, Boogaard shows absolutely no toughness or reason to inspire his teammates -- to no fault of his own. Why anyone bothers with this clown is the million dollar question. I gave this one a 2 for "foregone conclusion". Refs should've tacked on a Delay of Game minor to each guy.

Posted by illukka on January 24, 2010 at 03:25 AM

boll didnt have many chances there. props to him for goin thou IMO this is a TKO as boll couldnt do shi|t and the refs jumped in to save his ass from a seriuos beating

Posted by Tony Esposito on January 24, 2010 at 03:12 AM

Boll gets a lot of credit for fighting him. It's not the first time he has fought Boogaard either. A lot of other so called tough guys in the league are too scared to fight him.

Posted by hammertown on January 24, 2010 at 09:16 AM

I guess after Lucic, Boll felt good about himself, but the boogeyman brought him back down to earth. You the feeling that DB could kill some of these guys if he wanted to. He looks like he's playing with Boll at times. If you voted draw or Boll, go away and don't come back. I'm sure there's a site with figure skating highlites.

Posted by perezj on January 24, 2010 at 08:34 AM

Can you say rag doll!!! Boll hanging on for dear life.. He usually does good fighting smallers players and hitting from behind. He looked like a deer in headlights waiting for the linesman to save him... What a pussy.

Posted by tim daddy on January 24, 2010 at 11:17 AM

crazy boy has some serious balls, but he was just overmatched here. i think its great that all the godard fans can parlay one win since juniors into "domination" or even "two ko's" last year alone, funny thing is ,godard was pretty much an absentee enforcer in the two games against mn this year.come to think of it i don't recall seeing him last year either, but hey ,toke some more bc budd, and make up anything you want.

Posted by PigIron on January 24, 2010 at 05:18 PM

I've noticed (prob. after everyone else has noticed) that Boll plays the old "I'm losing my balance dance." Yes he wins a lot - but makes me wonder if this is a built in excuse for any loses. W for Boogie. I'm not a boogie homer, but I'm not sure anyone has his number right now.

Posted by tomales2 on January 24, 2010 at 07:43 PM

I suppose at least some of you enjoy the mismatches where a beating is involved. They don't interest me as two men of comparable size and skill is a much more entertaining fight.

Posted by mixed90 on January 25, 2010 at 04:13 PM

The Boogey man owned Boll and I think he actually held a few punches back cuz he felt bad for Boll. Nice length of fight though... Boll gets a few points for hanging in there for a little while without getting knocked out!

Posted by JenJen3236 on January 28, 2010 at 12:36 AM

Boll shouldn't have started up with Boogey because we all know how it ends! I'm glad the refs actually let Boogey do a little fighting this time because he's usually thrown in the box if he so much as looks cross at another player (I'm exaggerating a bit of course!) Great round and the obvious winner here is Boogaard. :)
