These two never disappoint. Its one thing to tuck the chin but do it too often or become predictable and you end up eating an uppercut. I give it an 8 and Boll with the nod, Brown can play for my team any time, anywhere! The guy is a warrior.

Brown early and Boll late for a stand up draw! Oilers have only one guy who can and is willing to throw. They truly should have kept Hordichuk or MacIntyre. Most heavies are not expected to be goal scorers and play 20 minutes a game!

Draw in a great scrap as 2013 goes. Can't give a win here- certainly neither of the fighters would have thought they lost.

Posted by Bear72 on March 29, 2013 at 10:10 AM

FOTY candidate good bout with two good contestants

Posted by The Mad House on March 29, 2013 at 01:26 AM

Brownie takes on a taller guy here in Boll, and it turns out to be a great slugfest. Brown uses both hands as he usually does and actually lasts in a long bout, when usually he has those quick scraps, he's a real tough guy. Boll started coming back at the end and was throwing some big rights. I'm going with a draw, in a real real good fight.

In my eyes a draw...could have been a win for Boll. Good go..

Posted by Al20Secord on April 02, 2013 at 04:23 AM

Good scrap, uneven tale of the tape... Draw.

Posted by Behn Wilson on March 29, 2013 at 08:07 AM

Brown and Boll deliver a downsized version of McGrattan-Bordeleau with the former working both hands while the latter calmly sizes up how to best use his reach advantage Superior tilt with Brown seemingly achieving what Prust (so far) cannot... I.E. being the teams' heavyweight light-heavyweight and middle-weight all in one Both of those aforementioned teams need to address their respective situations sooner rather than later before one of these " all-heart" guys gets seriously KTFO by trying to be something they're not PS I'm with StaceyB in that the closest that I want to get to a fight of this intensity... is the edge of my sofa

Posted by DARCY T on March 30, 2013 at 06:35 AM

brown is a great example of hard work.i remember him at the beginning of his career mostly considered a punching bag and now he fights with tootoos and bolls of this league....great calling it a draw but im fine with votes for boll too...and 8

Great Scrap!.....I love Mike Brown....such a gamer! Boll is as well....just a great scrap all around!

No way to call a winner solid "Old Time Hockey Fight"

Posted by Kenora Thistles on March 29, 2013 at 01:40 AM

Nice tilt

Posted by Jointman on March 29, 2013 at 04:32 AM

not just edge. this was all Boll. the last two punches really stoned Brown. Win Boll

Posted by vanisland on March 28, 2013 at 11:35 PM

lol. Brown looked like he was doing a tap dance at one point. I wasnt suprised that when Brown stepped up, he got rocked. You could see after his initial vinegar strokes he wanted to lay down but it would have been to obvious so he stood in and got punished.

Posted by hughcares on March 29, 2013 at 08:43 AM

I'm sure Brown wishes he was back in TO when he was number 4 on fighters list rather than the only guy in Edmonton. Brown's tough but not that tough.

Posted by NAILS13 on March 29, 2013 at 01:31 AM

Oily near-side right-hand grip proved to be a mistake against a Blue Jacket with sleeves that long.

Posted by von_swine on March 29, 2013 at 05:14 AM

Boll wins it at the wire and gets some style points for causing repairs on Mikey,..lotta grit in this one, Mike Brown doesn't roll over for anyone,.. #40 FTW.

Posted by mr hockey on March 29, 2013 at 11:57 AM

Boll slight edge good bout from two boy's from Illinois

Posted by squish81 on March 29, 2013 at 03:54 PM

Boll wins on points and face manipulation. Nice try by Brown but the reach deficit was too much to overcome.

Posted by Jellyczar on March 30, 2013 at 10:54 PM

Brown is quick but Boll hit him with 2 hard bombs.... win Boll

Posted by staceyb on March 29, 2013 at 06:19 AM

The Brown Bomber's "iron jaw" has a serious dent in it now. Overall that was a terrific scrap--glad I wasn't in it.

Posted by fernben8 on March 29, 2013 at 03:15 PM

Damm...that was good ! Props to Brown, he did much better than I thought would against a guy like Boll. Noticed Mike made a moderate modification in his style, he was looking up more at his target (which I like for him ). It was close till the last right by Boll...'Iron jaw' was right !

Posted by GreatMurray on March 29, 2013 at 09:21 AM

Brown's piston punches didn't work this time. Boll smoked him!

Posted by Kordic64 on March 29, 2013 at 02:44 AM

Kinda surprised this was a terrific tilt. I know both are quite game, just didn't think their styles would make for entertainment. I was wrong. BTW, slight edge Boll. Had control of fight plus better power punches.

Posted by treblecharger on March 29, 2013 at 01:59 AM

So close! Shot at the end gives it to Boll. I'm in Edm and I &^$#!*( love Brownie and am so glad they got him! Not just for the scraps...other team knows when he's out, just like Boll.

Posted by endor on March 30, 2013 at 11:51 PM

Love Brown's spirit but Boll is just too much. Brown sure did beat the hell out of Boll's armpit though--which is about all he could reach. Boll the winner only because he 's so much bigger. Props to Brown--a real tough cookie!

Posted by Gawd on March 31, 2013 at 02:18 PM

Very close right to the end, brown stepping out of his weight class but fared well.Anybody who doesn't appreciate browns willingness to take on all challengers should not vote on this site because they are just trolls.Boll with the slight win

Posted by lovejoy on March 29, 2013 at 03:46 AM

Great fight. I love Mike Brown and he was better at the start but Boll used his reach advantage effectively to earn the win.

Posted by kryon24 on March 29, 2013 at 03:08 PM

Gotta give it to Boller on this one. Fudge Brownie tried the jumpin jab at the beginning but Boll has been around enough to avoid that. JB is another one who throws his punches with bad intentions looking to take your head off. I give it to him because of the power shots as I believe he landed more. Very close slight edge Boll.

Posted by canamrugby on March 31, 2013 at 10:51 AM

Good effort from Brown despite the loss to a bigger opponent.

Posted by billy jack on March 29, 2013 at 01:00 PM

im no fan of browns punching power are lack their of,but man he stood tall after being tagged with a few from way out in right field.

Posted by EdNo on March 29, 2013 at 03:30 PM

Good fight... win Boll but fairly close tilt IMO Okay People why no outrage at Boll " going down in wieight class".. oh never mind I know why: because he's not Lucic! You hamster-hiders make me wanna fucking puke.. If Lucic wasnt a Bruin peeps would LOVE him.. but I digress Good fight, Brown's a warrior who got beat in a very close fight against a much bigger guy in Boll

Posted by boldbilly on March 29, 2013 at 11:29 AM

Great scrap gave it an 8 ..........slight edge to could argue a draw these two guys made this worth the price of admission.

Posted by pepsigenerate on March 29, 2013 at 08:57 AM

Brown with some speed but no effect on boll,Boll with some wildly effective punches that cut Brown to end it....Winner Boll....

Posted by jnk07899 on April 03, 2013 at 10:29 AM

One of my favorite fighters (Boll) lays a beat down on one of my least favorite fighters (Brown). Ata boy Jared. Still amazes me that Boll is a heavyweight fighter in the league. Good looking dude and he's out there doing that. Ha.

Posted by ferdip on March 30, 2013 at 08:09 PM

The difference was arm lenght

Posted by tomthescrew on March 29, 2013 at 01:01 PM

Boll gets the edge, I love the way Brown fights tho

Posted by scorp1on on March 29, 2013 at 05:38 AM

Would have been a toe to toe battle but Boll was getting tagged lightly but rapidly at the beginning and so goes for the reach-induced lockout and haymakers instead. I'll go draw here because they both had their strong points and it was Boll going defense first.

Posted by BoredOhioGuy on March 29, 2013 at 08:25 AM

Brown started off hot, but Boller eventually got his shots in. Looked like a gentlemen's agreement to stop.

Posted by biga0201 on March 29, 2013 at 09:44 AM

Draw until the end.Boll finished strong and got the win with the last two punches.Finished with a head snapping upper cut.

Posted by King of Goons on March 29, 2013 at 12:03 AM

Outstanding slugfest from two terrific fighters. Brown is one tough S.O.B. and Boll is a professional fighter, if there ever was one. Boll appears to have inflicted some deep cuts on Brown with the heavier shots, although Brown appeared to throw a few more punches in this bout. Close fight but Jared Boll gets the nod here in an 8. Nothing to be ashamed of for Mike Brown, who was narrowly bested by one of the smarter and more game fighters in the NHL.

Posted by canada bomber on April 02, 2013 at 09:35 AM

boll looks generally pissed here for once. i feel like he was pissed brown came out like he was just gonna jack hammer boll like brown does everyone else. bolls reach and experience got him this win against this pit bull. go tilly

Posted by ThrowdownSJ408 on March 29, 2013 at 03:45 AM

great fight. very fun fighters

Posted by Lucic_Power on March 29, 2013 at 12:25 PM

Ashton Kutcher survives the initial dwarf fury to use Brownies wreckless abandon to get in some well timed wheelhouse rights. Hi ho Hi ho its off to repairs we go. I hate Brown....Little Dick and Little Man syndrome.

Posted by j_fulch on March 29, 2013 at 01:04 AM

These guys were throwing some serious Haymakers!

Posted by slavv on March 30, 2013 at 11:33 AM

Brown started out like a caged tiger that just got set free. He was great early, but Boll hung in there and came on at the end. Giving it a draw....

Posted by SharkTank19 on March 30, 2013 at 05:11 AM

This is a good fight Brown got cut but he landed more blows, WIN BROWN, but overall it was a good battle.

Posted by kingpaolo on April 01, 2013 at 12:32 AM

great fight

Posted by fightslikebambi on March 29, 2013 at 12:54 AM

That was as even a fight as I've ever seen.

Posted by Madhouse27 on March 29, 2013 at 04:51 PM

Boll really caught him at the end, but Brown was taking it to him in the early going. Draw 8.

Posted by Big_Fat_Dan on March 29, 2013 at 09:02 AM

Brown started well, but Boll used his size and popped Brown right at the end.

Posted by koolpunch on March 29, 2013 at 12:02 AM

Fast and furious vs pace and power.... Although a loss, I give Brown credit. He's shouldering Edmonton's toughness. When are they going to get a heavy for all those talented kids...

Posted by ssully1618 on March 30, 2013 at 09:08 PM

Brown is such a loser. sick swing and a miss in the beginning. circus-like

Posted by hunger423 on March 29, 2013 at 07:25 AM

Boll by a whisker. Good one.

Posted by kkdowning on March 29, 2013 at 12:26 PM

Boll's over hand right, right uppercut combination gives him the win. Boll is impressive this year.

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on March 29, 2013 at 11:27 PM

Brown started good but Boll really turned it on at the end connecting with two really solid punches to the head. Edge Boll.

Posted by Bob Probert 24 on March 30, 2013 at 08:04 AM

Bolled a few perfect strikes. Nice tilt!

Posted by chad420 on March 29, 2013 at 11:23 AM

win Boller in a good close bout

Posted by flyersfan0180 on March 29, 2013 at 12:04 AM

Brown started off better but once boll started swinging, he was landing the better shots. Win boll

Posted by FHgrad99 on March 30, 2013 at 06:55 PM

This was a pretty long and very spirited fight. Brown started off very strong. Boll got some good ones in towards the middle of the fight. Boll landed two of the best shots of the fight near the end and he gets a narrow win here. This was a good one.

Posted by SouthPaw017 on March 29, 2013 at 12:51 AM

Very close tilt here... Brown-eye is one of my favorites and threw more, utilizing both hands.... But Boll, who with that mess of hair needs a cut, inflicts a little more damage... Edge to Boll in a great scrap. KoolPunch and King of Goons call it perfectly....

Posted by LouCat40 on March 29, 2013 at 08:49 AM

I love how Brown went for the Felix Trinidad left hook KO at the beginning. That was awesome. Close, excellent fight between two fearless dudes. Giving a very slight edge to Boll based on him landing the harder shots. This has been a good week for fights.

Posted by bammer24 on March 29, 2013 at 01:41 AM

Looked like Boll went out there and said " How Now Brown Cow". Which is as anybody knows who follows hockeyfights the right words for Brown to tuck his head in and magically transform into the blue "Rock`em-Sock`em Robot. See he isn`t human he is the 2013 version from Mattel.Just say the words and he switches right into fight mode. But this time his head got popped back up mostly with the last right from Boll. Great Fight.Brown I would take him on my team anyday.
