If this is going to be considered a fight then give to Neil.

Posted by kryon24 on October 25, 2009 at 07:49 AM

This was no fight but how come that fag announcer didn't say that Begin handed Neil his butt in this. Jack is such a tool. Draw for this hugfest (I think Stevie just wanted to be close to Chris because of his lifestyle).

Posted by moneybags on October 25, 2009 at 03:31 AM

draw nonfight

Posted by Humper on October 25, 2009 at 07:43 AM

Draw. Can't have a winner if there wasn't a fight...and there wasn't.

Posted by Dammit-Man on October 25, 2009 at 12:38 PM

That was Barely enough to even call a Hugfest wtf? but Remember Begin was a Hab after all...

Posted by hal29 on October 25, 2009 at 02:20 PM

draw!!!! should have been match roughing penalties, how can you have a fight when there are no punches thrown.so youget fighting majors just for dropping the gloves??? what is that bullshyt!! i give credit for begin a none fighter just a gritty player going after the much much tougher neil. Atleast he was stickin up for his teammate on a high elbow. thebigbea55,what is you hatred towards lucic,he is a good player, one of the toughest in the game and isn't dirty doesn't hit guys when they are down except brown who deserves it. he held up on harrisn you moron and every other fight he had

Posted by leeban on September 26, 2010 at 05:40 PM

I dont kno how anyone could give Neil the win. Why because he threw one punch and it hit him in the shoulder then then both fell over ? Explain the win to me? They fell over before anything happened. I think there needs to be a rule that unless 4 punches are thrown at least one by the other person its not a fight. DRAW

Posted by bruins rule on October 24, 2009 at 09:00 PM

nothing much going on in this fight.fight started because neil laid a big hit on wideman and begin stepped in.mostly a wrestling match.

Posted by Taubi on October 25, 2009 at 04:34 AM

nonfight, one punch by neil, but its a draw = nonfight

Posted by Riomouse911 on October 26, 2009 at 05:26 PM

Neil tried to throw a punch, but Begin went down before he could. CN takes this one more on what "would" have happened to Begin (Neil winning handily) rather than what actually did.

Posted by BruinLeader on October 26, 2009 at 10:16 AM

Um...Neil with a the beat down.

Posted by bruiseyoureye on October 25, 2009 at 02:16 AM

neil wins this fight. boston is losing most of their games and losing all of their fights too.........boston is going down the drain fast.......flushing the toilet on their season............ boston has no hope to even make the playoffs this year......they really stink.

Posted by rowbearprobear on October 26, 2009 at 09:14 PM

think jack edward's boy lucic would have eased up ??? hell no Begin should have learned a hard lesson here but Neil showed weakness for the first time in his career and don't give me this 'code' bs would begin have eased up if the table were turned?

Posted by jbaktai on October 26, 2009 at 01:23 PM

Hate neil but he showed some class, something i didnt think he was capable of

Posted by Juha82 on November 03, 2009 at 02:09 AM

SLIGHT EDGE C.Neil

Posted by crosscheck52 on October 26, 2009 at 06:52 AM

Not much of a fight, but Neil could and did dominate.

Posted by Jordybats99 on February 26, 2016 at 02:26 PM

Win Chris Neil.

Posted by lovejoy on October 26, 2009 at 03:32 AM

At least Neil landed one. I hate players starting a fight after any clear hit.

Posted by thebigbea55 on October 25, 2009 at 10:23 AM

good job on neil to let up when he's down.. if that was lucic on top, i'm sure lucic will continue to punch the guy..

Posted by bostonrs555 on October 25, 2009 at 09:44 AM

Steve "The Garbage From Montreal" Begin loses his first of two fights on the year... Begin Instigates and loses again....

Posted by tattooedkingpin on October 25, 2009 at 12:13 PM

W neil

Posted by Davids on October 25, 2009 at 09:51 AM

There were a couple of punches thrown by Neil, tough to see if anything landed though.Begin is a gamer, but he and Bitz both need to keep their gloves on and leave the fighting to Thornton and Lefebvre (If Julien ever lets him play).Easy win for a guy I cant stand,Chris Neil.

Posted by SABREHATRED on October 25, 2009 at 10:22 AM

Is it really sticking up for your teammate if you get beat up and manhandled???

Posted by staceyb on October 25, 2009 at 08:00 PM

Kudos to Begin for stepping in but Neil was too kind--he could have beat him to pulp.

Posted by kurtenbach on October 25, 2009 at 07:10 AM

Neil follows the "code" so Begin is lucky to be alive after trying to run Neil and then getting handed his _ss on a platter.

Posted by Bruins29 on October 25, 2009 at 12:11 PM

Win Neil.

Posted by Denis Gauthier on October 26, 2009 at 03:16 AM

Nice gesture from Neil. He could have hammered Begin was down defenceless.

Posted by mcb789 on October 24, 2009 at 10:51 PM

neil with the win in this scrap. the bruins lost all 3 fights in the game.

Posted by zonahockeyfan on October 25, 2009 at 10:39 AM

neil could have killed begin (dropped bombs as they went down and while on top) if he wanted to, I'm glad he didn't, video shows two landed before the flop, neil win, good for begin to stick up for his teammate who got smoked on a clean hit, even though it cost an instigator.

Posted by Heater15 on October 25, 2009 at 11:07 PM

Chris Neil gets alot of bad remarks on this site but he is a top 5 fighter in the nhl and can actually play the game ....another easy win for the guy i call tough as neils...also a great hit before the bout

Posted by bigdude on October 26, 2009 at 03:02 PM

Neil won, but let him off easy.

Posted by cboy94 on October 25, 2009 at 11:22 PM

The Boston announcers suck. They are the worst homers out there. I remember a few years ago the leafs were up 7 to 1 on Boston and Andy Brickley was commenting with a bounce here or a bounce there the result could be different. What a bunch of losers.

Posted by huskie on October 26, 2009 at 09:17 AM

very fair from Neil at the end. Could have landed more shots!!

Posted by CHRISNEILNATOR on October 25, 2009 at 02:56 PM

THERE IS A PRIME EXAMPLE OF WHY CHRIS NEIL REMAINS THE TOUGHEST PLAYER IN THE NHL. I HOPE BEGIN GETS OUT OF THE COMA SOON WHOS NEXT LARAQUE

Posted by yeah on October 25, 2009 at 09:50 AM

Clear win Neil.

Posted by champxx on October 26, 2009 at 12:12 PM

Neil's an Idiot

Posted by balravens13 on October 25, 2009 at 08:14 PM

So how either guy got a major for that is sad. That was two roughing majors. Chris Neil is a guy like Avery to me. Likes to talk and fight guys that dont fight. This was possibly the weakest "fight" this year.

Posted by FuzzyWuzzy on December 18, 2010 at 03:54 PM

How did Neil win? Are youstupid? They both fell over morons!

Posted by CNeelyFan on October 28, 2009 at 10:59 PM

100% draw. Neither landed anything, and the only reason Begin went down is he skated in to fast and lost balance.

Posted by chad420 on October 26, 2009 at 09:51 PM

win neal in a crappy one

Posted by Bosoxfan3 on October 25, 2009 at 04:40 AM

Damn, I was hoping bruiseyoureye and mcb would take their dumb shenanigans somewhere else for the new season but apparently not. Yeah, Begin definitely didn't win this fight (draw or decision to neil, who knows/cares. Not much of a fight), but your anti-bruins idiocy completely invalidates any actual points you may ever make. You guys need to figure out something else to do with your lives. I'm sure even idiots like you can figure something out thats more productive than this.

Posted by goob on October 25, 2009 at 08:43 AM

again big hit = fight......not much of one mind you.

Posted by BritishRedWing on October 29, 2009 at 09:30 PM

Win Neil. Begin didn't need to do that, but he did. Props to him for stepping up, but in my opinion Neil's hit did not warrant retaliation.

Posted by mike hartman on March 18, 2010 at 11:26 AM

rare class shown by Neil, he could have hurt him bad at the end.

Posted by big10drup8787 on October 27, 2009 at 10:48 PM

Lots of respect for Neil for letting up. He really could have pummeled Begin.

Posted by BostonBruins19 on October 25, 2009 at 08:10 PM

Not much of a fight.. big question hit (looked high to me, but wideman got up fine). Begin steps in, which is good to see but Begin vs Neil is a bit of a mismatch. Goes to the ice quick and Neil holds up from throwing any punches, which was even better to see. Neil wins in what probably should have been called a double roughing on Begin and a roughing and possible elbow for Neil.

Posted by Oil Can Henry on October 25, 2009 at 03:58 AM

Clean hit and easy win for Neil. Edwards would've been calling this a "one-punch knockout" if the situation were reversed.

Posted by PuckmaninMN on October 25, 2009 at 11:56 AM

Begin stands up for teammate and promptly gets knocked down. Edwards and Brickley quickly move to commenting about the hit and not the fight. Hilarious!

NEIL FOR THE WIN

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on March 01, 2015 at 02:21 AM

neil with a great hit, then a sweet two punch knockdown

Posted by tiburon4 on October 27, 2009 at 12:34 AM

q and e: Neil got that one!
