i think they should leave it to the heavyweights

Posted by wannago on February 23, 2009 at 08:18 AM

draw. Jack Roberts is a total DOUCHE. In the running for the Rick Jeanerette homer of the year award.

Posted by Behn Wilson on February 22, 2009 at 09:29 PM

Not bad for 42. Recovery based draw.

Posted by huddles on February 22, 2009 at 10:49 PM

draw, but could give it to roberts for three bombs at the end. Most of stuarts didnot land and roberts slipped twice from glantzing shots

Posted by mikeyfreake on February 22, 2009 at 09:04 PM

Can't really give this to either player. Looked like a lot of swinging and missing...

Posted by bruiser11 on February 22, 2009 at 10:46 PM

roberts don't take no mess...stuart is way younger..roberts still can handle himself quite well...even

Posted by Boston USMC on February 24, 2009 at 08:36 AM

Not bad. Kudos to Roberts for last second heroics. Stuarts inexpeierience and Roberts age make for a draw. Hey trpaulson, you're the douchebag, you frigging moron.

Posted by heffenator on February 23, 2009 at 07:10 PM

not bad.Loved to see Roberts switch to lefty not enough guy's do that anymore.Todd Gill used to do it all the time.

Posted by Riomouse911 on February 22, 2009 at 10:47 PM

Stuart was walkin' the dog at the start, then Roberts came back with some wildman swings. Good go for both, draw leaning towards GR.

Posted by Juha82 on February 23, 2009 at 11:39 AM

nice DRAW

Posted by b.t.wilson on February 22, 2009 at 09:16 PM

Good job old man! Going with a draw in this fight, good and long, lots of spirit. Calling it a 6.

Posted by tattooedkingpin on February 23, 2009 at 10:36 AM

Stuart owned the beggining of the fight, Roberts owned the 2nd. Gonna have to give it a Draw

Posted by mullet33 on February 23, 2009 at 01:57 PM

Not bad, Not bad

Posted by Humper on February 24, 2009 at 01:22 PM

Good fight, draw.

Posted by CairnsIsGod33 on February 22, 2009 at 11:19 PM

Glad to see the refs letting a fight go on instead of stopping it early. Turned into a decent scrap after a short break when they were against the glass. DRAW. 42 must be the new 25.

Posted by filefactor on February 24, 2009 at 05:56 AM

I'm impressed how Gary Roberts can fight in 42 years old. Anyway good tilt and a draw.

Posted by glaxko on February 23, 2009 at 06:31 PM

good fight. draw

nice draw

Posted by ogie ogiltorpe on February 23, 2009 at 12:34 PM

Stuart early, Roberts late, a draw, good fight with no hugging

Posted by murdog55 on February 23, 2009 at 08:06 AM

Stuart jumped Roberts, Stuart had thrown 2-3 punches before Roberts even dropped the gloves. Stuart tried to beat up the old guy by starting something and ending it quickly, but Roberts is too tough for that, and he ended up getting the cleaner shots in, and the take down...win GR!!

Posted by trpaulson on February 23, 2009 at 04:54 PM

Roberts wins one for us old farts. Stuart's a douchebag.

Posted by mcb789 on February 22, 2009 at 08:08 PM

roberts the clear cut winner in this scrap. all the punches stuart threw were air punches. stuart did not connect with any punches. THE BRUINS ARE A BUNCH OF WIMPS!!!

Posted by kmd19 on February 23, 2009 at 10:30 AM

Good tilt here. Love Stuart's passion when he fights. He throws everything into his punches. I give the old man the win though. He hung in there, took some shots and then came back with a nice flurry at the end. Experience wins this one.

Posted by njteech on February 24, 2009 at 05:40 PM

OLd guy with the win

Posted by matthew_barnaby on February 23, 2009 at 01:16 AM

Posted by legion31 on February 23, 2009 at 11:50 AM

hold time hockey!! edge to roberts

Posted by Nigelle on February 23, 2009 at 10:58 AM

Gotta love a man who gets on his knees and gets back up and still continues to fight!! Kudos to Gary Roberts!

Posted by ibled4theusa on February 23, 2009 at 03:18 PM

Gar Roberts is one of my favorite players ever. He's never been the best and just like Roenick never runs from the need to back up his team. Hey all you BOZOs who don't understand the fact that some guys are men and are willing to fight for the team after a hit. If you allow guys to just run over your team you can; A. go NFL and have the coaches scream at the refs, B. go NBA and as a player cry to the refs, C. go Mc Enroe and rant or D. go REAL NHL and kick the player's ass and he will think next time about maybe that hit isn't worth it. That's the way men handle real issues whether with fists or Armies.

Posted by Belak_Norris on February 23, 2009 at 12:30 PM

Gary can still throw down!

Posted by GSP09 on February 24, 2009 at 09:12 PM

Close one but edge to Roberts for hitting more solid one's. Stuart did miss on alot of them.

Posted by giantsfrey on February 23, 2009 at 12:18 AM

roberts is a badass... what a gamer. unlike most of these young pups, he can get back on his feet fast if he slips, and he doesn't give up, and he doesn't take any shit. hell, he even knows how to dodge punches like a pro and make the other guy miss foolishly... most guys' defense just consists of grabbing a sweater or turning their head away and keeping out of range. that said, the fight was a draw. no clear winner; i'm just impressed with the old man showing his prowess

Posted by DARCY T on May 19, 2009 at 06:55 AM

roberts landed much more.win roberts

Posted by Rebel Banker on February 22, 2009 at 11:11 PM

WIN ROBERTS! roberts fell early on his own but once he got back to his feet he controlled the fight...JACK EDWARDS IS THE BIGGEST TOOL IN HOCKEY!

Posted by mikebflorida on February 23, 2009 at 09:30 AM

I can see how this might be a tough fight to rate because Stuart is kind of rag dolling Roberts at the beginning but check the punches thrown by Stuart, maybe 1 or 2 connecting with any meaning and Roberts lands 5 good lefts to finish the fight and take the win. As always, Jack Edwards is a complete imbecile and probably influences voters.

Posted by Sukoshi84 on February 24, 2009 at 06:40 PM

Old man took over at the end and for win roberts......jack edwards is such a fuking tool.... noogie shoots ??? haha those landed flush good to see the typical boston [email protected] homers come out and vote a win for stuart when its an obvious win for roberts

Posted by tnaveler on February 27, 2009 at 11:22 AM

I love Roberts . Stuart early, Roberts Late. he makes being 42 just a number.

Posted by swirvin on February 22, 2009 at 09:27 PM

roberts went down twice without stuart actually hitting him, lol. old man gary turned this fight around nicely. win roberts

Posted by RebelliousArmy on February 23, 2009 at 09:59 AM

That was great fight edge to the Grandpa of the league Gary always nice to see him drop the gloves.

Posted by bruiseyoureye on February 22, 2009 at 08:45 PM

damn stuart you must feel embarresed getting beat up by an old man.......win to roberts and bloodies stuart up pretty good......................... not even close........stuart is a creme puff

Posted by ChrisNeilKO on February 23, 2009 at 09:11 AM

Momma had a baby and it's head popped off. Good fight for the old guy. Chris Neil or Jarkko Ruutu would have been even more dominant though so therefore the Lightning and Bruins beware!!!!! Win G.R.

Posted by slomo108 on February 27, 2009 at 12:24 AM

roberts still can throw em

Posted by bucsfan22 on February 23, 2009 at 11:39 AM

good fight with both players getting some punches in. It went back and forth with Roberts getting the best of Stuart at the end. Good fight.

Posted by ToxinX on February 23, 2009 at 02:32 PM

pmarz1, you must be retarded... stuart in no way pounded roberts... he did a great job rag-dolling him at first but the old man landed the better punches, edge GR.

Posted by omorales on February 23, 2009 at 08:46 PM

Gotta give it to the old man, two falls, two recoveries, and he still drops 'em at the end, close, but Roberts NEVER disappoints...

Posted by acd1 on February 22, 2009 at 09:22 PM

Way to go old man!

Posted by brashearisanape on February 23, 2009 at 01:19 PM

stuart had the early advantage on ole gary. Roberts had more effective punches landed and you can tell he's done this a few times in his career as he was dodging what could have been a few bad blows. ROBERTS with the win and still knows how to put those youngins in place.

Posted by Clark75 on February 23, 2009 at 09:10 PM

Roberts wins with a slight edge. Takes a lot for a 42 year old to come back and kick the snot out of a guy 18 years younger than you. Stuart should be embarrassed I would think. Roberts is no joke.

Posted by Snowrider on February 23, 2009 at 11:36 AM

Anytime a bruins loose i'm happy

Posted by scrapiron wins on March 03, 2009 at 01:25 PM

Roberts comes backs. Good fight.

Posted by Simon17 on February 24, 2009 at 07:24 PM

Gary! Gary! Gary! Wow the old man still has it! Good on him for sticking up for his team!

Posted by 2001GT on February 23, 2009 at 12:19 AM

The twirl arounds dont matter for much, it might look dominating. Gary landed cleaner and more blows. Edge for Big Gar

Posted by no123one on March 02, 2009 at 05:39 AM

Roberts is amazing!

Posted by boman on February 23, 2009 at 06:31 PM

mcb is juat a hater

Posted by umaksgx on February 27, 2009 at 10:12 PM

Edge Stuart.

Posted by guas99 on February 23, 2009 at 02:24 PM

How does anyone give Roberts a win, he gets ragged dolled to start the fight and never lands 1 punch? Slight edge Stuart.

Posted by Reverend Kane on February 24, 2009 at 02:28 PM

Gotta give the Edge to Stuart. I love Cap'n Gary, but he definitely did not have much control until the end of the fight.

Posted by wheebill on February 23, 2009 at 12:46 PM

Love Gary Roberts, but I have to give the nod to Stuart. He manhandled GR for 2/3 of the scrap.

Posted by bruinbrigade on February 23, 2009 at 02:37 PM

Eh. stuart could have ended it when roberts was on his knees. Good job to stuart for letting him get up. good showing for roberts also. i say draw, but slight edge to stuart for the haymakers in the beginning

Posted by CharlesmeMelvin on February 22, 2009 at 07:56 PM

Stuart threw the most punches by far and connected on a few. Roberts was down on his knees twice, but give him credit for getting back up. Decent fight for the end of their shift. Stuart the clear winner.

Posted by smackdown time on February 23, 2009 at 04:29 PM

This fight was kinda lame but for those of you who voted for Roberts must be long time die hard Flamers fans, cuz he got tossed like a rag doll. He's old. So what. That doesn't give him bonus points. OUT.

Posted by Wensinkfan on February 22, 2009 at 11:55 PM

I give Roberts credit for getting back up off his knees twice at the start. Good exchange between the two. It lasted longer than I thought it would-no complaints! Even if Roberts took down Stuart at the end Stuart still gets the win for more blows and energy. Win Stuart.

Posted by kingpintoo on March 06, 2009 at 02:26 AM

good fight old man but you lost, barely.

Posted by moneybags on February 23, 2009 at 01:08 AM

stuart with more effective punches

Posted by BozzMan on February 22, 2009 at 10:56 PM

Good tilt, I gave a slight edge to Stuart for getting Roberts down twice...but I give Roberts credit for keeping it VERY close.

Posted by BsFAn4LIF on February 23, 2009 at 03:38 PM

Stuart lands more, even after Roberts rush Stuart slight edge

Posted by nighthawk walt on February 23, 2009 at 07:13 PM

Stuart kicked the old man's butt.Roberts should have started better, seeing he started the fight.

Posted by hal29 on February 23, 2009 at 08:08 AM

i give roberts credit he took a bomb pretty well from stewart.stewart landed a couple bombs early and a couple towards the end.also missed on alot as well.but roberts missed on most of his, landed maybe one at the end that was about it.i give roberts credit.seing him and brind'emore are the two best shae athletes in the nh.age doesn't realy mean shit.42 isn't that old sorry.doesn't make him any less of man then when he was in his 20.if anything he is a better fighter

Posted by bruins rule on February 22, 2009 at 09:10 PM

mark stuart gets the win in this decent fight. bruiseyoureye must have his eyes bruised and cannot see because his judgement is way off on this fight.

Posted by McCunn8585 on February 22, 2009 at 11:24 PM

Stuart early. Roberts late. Edge Stuart, had the fight cont'd Roberts would have taken him. Nice Domi imitation with the jersey tug.

Posted by hockeyfighter44 on February 23, 2009 at 11:51 AM

slight edge stuart

Posted by Cid on February 23, 2009 at 12:47 AM

Good tilt. Close tilt. Stuart started strong and Roberts finished strong. I give slight edge in punches to the crazy man, Mark Stuart. But good showing from both! Man Roberts is one tough 41 year old!

Posted by riggs61a on February 25, 2009 at 08:35 AM

Slight edge Stuart for the first 5-10 seconds of the fight.

Posted by Jellyczar on February 22, 2009 at 09:54 PM

Good bout....Edge to Stuart

Posted by Kocur McBrown on February 23, 2009 at 08:47 PM

Jesus. Could a few more people suck GR's dick. I love the guy. Old warrior. But Stuart won the fight. End of movie.

Posted by beantown on February 23, 2009 at 11:37 PM

stuart threw about 20 more and landed 5 more. gary's wife is very thankful 3 or 4 of those missed

Posted by Bruinsbear on February 23, 2009 at 06:34 PM

staurt definitaly won, he missed alot but he responded surprisly fast which stunned robers and gave himm the early advantage. he also took roberts down twice and pushed right up aganst the boards and for 80% of this fight he dominated roberts so i'd give stuart the win

Posted by kimocoyote on February 23, 2009 at 12:09 AM

Good hockey fight. Stuart early, Roberts got in some hits late. Edge to Stuart. Still proves some "old guys" can fight.

Posted by dlbishop2213 on February 24, 2009 at 01:43 PM

Stuart Edge win

Posted by Flint19 on February 23, 2009 at 12:03 AM

Roberts at 41 can still throw'em, got caught a little off balance at the beginning. Gave the slight edge to Stuart. Close one though, with Roberts coming on at the end.

Posted by Bruins29 on February 24, 2009 at 02:04 PM

A good long, spirited fight. And give the old man credit for still throwing down at age 42. Stuart had the slight edge though...throwing/connecting with more punches.

Posted by pmarz1 on February 23, 2009 at 11:30 AM

murdog55, you are either delusional or a bruin hater(or both), like many of the others here. FYI, GR goes after Stuart, not the other way around. Get a bleepin' clue. Those of you who give GR credit for getting up twice might want to check the tape again, looked to me that Stuart helped him get back up so he could pound him more, which he did. First half of the fight was close to total domination by Stuart. Kind of like the domination mcb's mother experiences from anything that walks on two(or maybe four) legs. Give GR credit for rallying at the end but punches to the back of the head dont cut it.

Posted by Hendo67 on February 23, 2009 at 04:34 PM

Great fight, Stuart early...Roberts with the finish... Too close to call, i'm going with a Draw

Posted by stremb on February 22, 2009 at 08:57 PM

Im glad to see my boy Mark in a fight

Posted by homeland on March 12, 2009 at 12:02 PM

nice fight, Stuart has walkin him for the first part, lol

Posted by psycho87 on February 24, 2009 at 11:57 AM

Boring. Both players nothink landed. Pure hugfest. This guys should learn how to fight from Zack Stortini. Hes fights are so energyc, with some though bombs, but this was nothink.

Posted by dfergin on February 26, 2009 at 12:41 PM

Pretty good fight...Roberts is a pretty tough customer for someone collecting Social Security benefits.

Posted by preds321 on February 22, 2009 at 09:49 PM

christ I hate Mark Stuart. DRAW

Posted by TrueBlue26 on February 23, 2009 at 11:35 AM

oh boy jack edwards shows his boston home bias in this bout with his comments...cant stand him...he made me hate everything about boston hockey...draw or maybe a slight edge to the old man...even tho i cant stand him

Posted by tiburon4 on February 24, 2009 at 12:06 AM

Even-out draw.

Posted by dahofsd on February 23, 2009 at 01:32 PM

Good tilt, gotta give it to Roberts for giving it a go with Junior!

Posted by bigwilly37 on February 24, 2009 at 12:22 AM

Good to see old man Roberts chucking the knuckles still. Staurt in the beginning but good old Gary in the end. WWGRD? Draw

Posted by evol_lurk on February 25, 2009 at 02:41 AM

Stuart is really strong, and old Roberts made it back to the fight. Good fight and a draw.

Posted by BigBadBruins68 on February 23, 2009 at 09:41 AM

Very close, both guys got some big shots in, Stuart may have landed more, but he was punching wild, and Roberts was able to come back, but Stuart got a few in at the end. Gotta say Draw.

Posted by striker2160 on February 23, 2009 at 08:55 PM

Roberts in a close fight stewart just could not hit him.

Posted by CFG1787 on February 23, 2009 at 11:04 AM

I am surprised how close this fight was, Stuart must have been wearing kryptonite or something

Posted by heyohmama on February 24, 2009 at 01:53 AM

how annoying are these announcers wow

Posted by Oil Can Henry on February 23, 2009 at 09:42 PM

If Stuart would've landed anything he wins - but he missed with just about everything. Roberts comes-on at the end to take this one.

Posted by tomales2 on February 23, 2009 at 01:19 AM

I'm giving it to Roberts just out of principle-we're in the same age bracket. In all fairness, it could go either way. He's always been a tough dog.

Posted by J.R. Abel on February 24, 2009 at 05:41 PM

Why does this announcer still have a job?

Posted by azjim on February 23, 2009 at 05:25 AM

I hate it when I pick the same guy as mcb, but Roberts got the most effective punches in.

Posted by CPCraig on February 24, 2009 at 11:18 AM

What are you people watching? Stuart by a wide margin. You can't even give it a draw as Roberts was manhandled. Can all the Leaf fans be banned from voting ,as they are never anything but biased?

Posted by kitcarnut on February 23, 2009 at 03:09 PM

The Kid kicked his butt. Roberts was in survival mode the whole time. Roberts will get pity votes just like an old lady does when she fights back swinging her purse.

Posted by chad420 on February 22, 2009 at 09:40 PM

stuey early ..landing clean & frequent....gary late..slight edge MS...a 6 ..older vs young ...awesome

Posted by Boogeyman2383 on February 26, 2009 at 01:37 PM

Edge to Marty Stuart

Posted by AllDayAP on February 23, 2009 at 06:27 PM

Stuart with the narrow win

Posted by Bosoxfan3 on February 23, 2009 at 11:25 PM

Good fight... I'm giving it to Stuart just because I feel like Roberts shouldn't get too much for the takedown. I can understand voting any of these three ways.
