Pacioretty didn't want to have anything to do with this guy. Is Simmonds really 160lbs at 6"1'? Moves like a butterfly but he doesn't sting like a bee. He does look like a boxer (not a hockey player). Boring fight Edge Simmonds

Pacioretty got whooped, he is a pussy who runs his mouth and thats it. I am not sure who has bigger lips, him or Subban the Primate

Posted by Wensinkfan on February 01, 2009 at 12:41 AM

I'll post since I saw the fight. Weak and weak! I'll give the win to Simmonds. Can't get it right every night huh?

First time I've ever agreed with anything Bob ''Go Leafs Go' Cole has had to say... "Both benches are applauding and I''m not sure why".

Posted by Gunslinger on January 31, 2009 at 10:19 PM

Max who? Oh yeah, Max on his way to the minors, that guy.

Posted by mikebflorida on February 01, 2009 at 11:23 AM

Another Hab who can't fight. Yay!

Posted by jlmcgui on February 01, 2009 at 02:37 PM

No comment, Simmonds just because he actually threw some punches?

10-9 Simmonds in a yawner. That dude needs to eat some more Chunky soup, he's going to blow away in the next breeze.

Posted by cementhead33 on January 31, 2009 at 07:50 PM

Simmons will f-up most middles . you will see. not much here .edge Simmons

Posted by BooSanta on February 01, 2009 at 03:44 PM

Wayne simmonds is clearly the stronger of the 2, so he'll get the edge, but boy, was this ever a chuck and duck fest. Bald guys lost their Toops in the crowd from all the wind that last Simmond missed left generated. Still a pretty clear win for Simmonds since he ragdolled Max quite a bit.

simmonds had pacioretty trying 2 wrestle him..i like any1 that gets an edge on a montreal canadien, i like any1 that beats down a montreal canadien as well!

Posted by bruins rule on January 31, 2009 at 07:51 PM

simmonds with the win in this fight.

Posted by kjsst55 on February 01, 2009 at 01:17 PM

Simmonds with the W. Pacioretty wanted no parts of it, he just kept his head down and kept pushing forward trying not to eat punches. I don't know why he was so quick to agree to drop the gloves if wasn't gonna throw a punch

Posted by MajorGroove on February 01, 2009 at 06:46 AM

Well at least Simmonds clearly wanted to go. Pacioretty should have just turtled to get it over with since he wanted nothing to do with this bout. When is Laraque coming back?

Posted by lefthook25 on February 01, 2009 at 11:57 AM

Well at least I saw a canadien fight without a visor...........and lose as usual mcb please remove the cock from your mouth. thank you

Posted by oilersfansylvan on January 31, 2009 at 10:14 PM

not even close

Posted by b.t.wilson on January 31, 2009 at 07:58 PM

Not great but not terrible. They sure ditched the mitts and the lids pretty quick. Simmonds with the definite win, although nothing huge landed. Lucky for Pacioretty. Honestly, no idea who he is.

Nice fight by Simmonds. Easy W

Posted by staceyb on February 01, 2009 at 01:12 PM

Pacioretty is a skilled player with more talent in his index finger than Simmonds has in his entire body. Unfortunately fighting is not one of those talents.

Who is this ass clown of a play-by-play guy? He should be calling soccer down in spic ville (I mean Mexico).

gmr133 = g a y man richard with 133 acts of g a y ism under his belt

Posted by OakSeals on February 02, 2009 at 09:38 PM

Nice job by Simmons gmr133. are you serious with that remark? The only reason the habs won that game is because the officials gave it to you. Habs are nothing and I cant wait till we see you guys again here in LA where the officials aren't in our pocket like in Montreal.

Posted by joeye4 on February 01, 2009 at 08:52 PM

Max was not so Smart. Another losing effort for the habnots.

Posted by Juha82 on February 01, 2009 at 06:49 AM

good fight again, good night today with some good fights. Simmonds did bvery good work all the time. Hes CLEAR WINner.

Posted by Hell of a TILT on February 02, 2009 at 10:17 AM

Poor Maxy bit off more than he could chew.......He was confident at the beginning, throwing the bucket off, it was all downhill after that!

Posted by Rypien on February 01, 2009 at 11:23 AM

I thought MAXPAC was better then that.. anywho good win for Sims, too abd we couldnt get the win of the game :(

Posted by CAheavyweight on February 01, 2009 at 04:44 PM

simmonds should gain some wait and establish him as a fighter he will never be a jerome iginla... i think hes got some fighting potential!! and hes only twenty years old

Posted by foiler on February 04, 2009 at 05:14 AM

Who is Wayne Simmonds and what is he doing in the NHL?

Posted by kimocoyote on February 01, 2009 at 01:59 AM

Simmonds, win, not much else to be said.

Posted by gmr133 on January 31, 2009 at 07:37 PM

"Both benches are applauding--I'm not sure why." Me neither. Draw where neither guy lands a decent punch--two candidates for how to have a hockey fight school. Didn't LA used to have a hockey team--whatever happened to those guys?

Posted by hockeyherman on February 01, 2009 at 01:00 PM

Don't know about Simmonds but Pacioretty isn't much of a fighter so I wasn't expecting him to fair well in this one. The Habs need Laraque back if they want to get energy from fights cause they got no one else that can really chuk knuckles.

Posted by dorobo on February 01, 2009 at 01:08 AM

I'm from Montréal and really wondering if the habs have *anyone* that can actually land a punch on their roster; they either hold on for their life or just get bluntly beaten (ie: every Kostopoulos fight). Oh, and I left out on purpose BGL since I don't really consider him part of the roster, playing 1/5 of their game..

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on March 12, 2015 at 03:29 AM

not much of a fight. simmonds eked out a win

Posted by bigd071 on February 02, 2009 at 07:13 PM

I like how both combatants were eager to go, that's about all I like about this one.
