Draw... sort of a twirly bunch of misses and lack of balance for 2 big men.
Let's see - Boogard is dogging after his shift and is skating to the bench and the t-bagger grabs him? Belak fought like a punk against a guy that was obviously sucking wind. Draw.
Boogy held up at the end. Good fight. Draw.
Both looked like they were at the tail end of their respective shifts. You usually would expect a more explosive fight between two of the bigger boys. Have to respect them for slugging after a shift so not really their fault.
Two tired guys showing their street smarts over the long term. Slight edge in quality of punches and picking of spots by Belak, but not enough of an advantage to give either a clear win. Although I do find it interesting that, up until this point, no one, including the homers, has seen fit to vote for a Boogey win
FROM WHAT I SEE, BELAK CONNECTS WITH ONE DECENT SHOT AT THE VERY END. BOOGAARD SEEMED TO LET HIM TOO !! HOW CAN BELAK GET THE WIN HERE ?? BOOGAARD ACTUALLY CONNECTED WITH LIKE THREE OR FOUR...WATCH AGAIN IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME..AND WITHOUT A BIAS MINDSET FOR ONCE !! THEN VOTE AGAIN !! ITS A DRAW !! Since their are allot of boogaard haters in the fan base around the nhl i guess not seeing more draw votes doesn't surprise me one bit. No fighter won here, call me biased, but boogaard was at the end of his shift and belak has allot more stamina, especially since he is a defensemen. I give belak negative points for being a pansy and picking on boogy while at the end of his shift, instead of at the beginning, but I guess that doesn't surprise me, if it aint godard or laraque, most players will now do that since when full of breath. boogaard works his opponents. Oh well, gotta find some way to beat the giant right ?? Boogaards fault as well for dropping them when he knew he was tired !! Idiot !!
This was a terrible fight, due to the fact Boogie was ending his shift, and Belak took advantage of it. Slight edge to Belak, but I give it a draw.
Boogaard was off balance because his dumbass decided to fight while at the end of his shift, and beleive me, he doesnt have much gas on the beginning of his shift, therefore poor choice for boogy to drop them at that point, should have waited to fight at a better time when he wasn't gassed, negative points for belak picking on boogy when he knew boogs had been aboutn to get off the ice. Belak would had been a bigger man if he would have picked a time when both fighters were fresh. Draw, nobody had done any damage, no hard solid punches. Just some little love taps. What the hell, so many boogaard haters here...boogaard connected with like three...belak not one until the very end when boogaard decided to let him give one.....still a draw but to see allot of votes for belak when he connected with one punch..WOW..just WOW.
Idk id say a draw no big punches either way....
no one won this one. Both guys had problems with balance, both seemed tired. Looks it was in the end of the shift and they had no power to throw.
First of all, The cheap-shot on Boynton was because him and ballard 2 on1'd him right before and knocked his tooth out while on the ice. Second, Boogey had no shot in this one. He was sucking wind even beofre it started. He was on his way off the ice when they started fighting. That is how he will be attacked all year. Catch him at teh end of a shift and fight defensively.
Draw.....nothing more nothing less.
Draw. Belak landed more but they didn't seem to phase Boogs. Boogards punches mostly missed, when they connected they did seem to stun Belak a bit, but Belak was always able to keep Boogard off balance and stop him from doing any real damage. Hopefully we'll see better fights out of both these guys later in the season.
There is no such thing as "picking on Boogard". Guys like him don't get excuses. On the other hand, Belak, did not win this fight either. Boogaard simply didn't dominate like he usually does. That doesn't deserve a loss. Draw Boogaard better figure out how to duck a left, though.
Draw
A little too sloppy from these two guys. Not so many of the hard punches actually connected. Still, a nice long bout and some real heavy hands going back and forth there. DRAW
fair fight
I dont know how people say Belak or Boogaard won this fight. Belak did a nice job keeping boogaard off balance, BUT a fight isnt won whether a player kept his opponent off balance. It looked like belak maybe got a good punch in but it was hard to tell when Belak was leaning over like he was hurt at the end of the fight. I gotta call this one a DRAW.
its hard to tell what landed....balance seemed to be an issue as well as conditioning......
Draw
Drawer
Good stand by Belak, but doesnt get enough for the win. Draw
Good fight Draw
I didn't see the game, was Boogey at the end of his shift? Just looking at the beginning of the clip, it looks like Boogey is tired skating out of the offensive zone and heads to the bench were Belak is waiting for him. Not trying to be an apologist, just wondering.
A solid fight, long one! Belak used his momentum's well. Bogaard threw his typical haymakers, he lands some. No winner.
JUST LOVE IT!!!!!!!
Great heavyweight fight. It kills me how some people give Laraque so many props. Not saying he's not a big strong guy and hard to take down, BUT his fights suck ass cause he's a hugger relying on the one big knockout blow. Boogy fan here but edge this scrap to Belak.
Good fight
I LIKE HOW BELAK SAT BY THE WILD BENCH AFTER JUST GETTING ON THE ICE TO WAIT TILL BOOGAARD NEEDS A SHIFT CHANGE TO GET HIM TO FIGHT. BUT BELAK DID HAVE A SLIGHT EDGE SINCE HE HAD ALOT MORE REST.
Gotta give this one to Belak. It was the end of the shift for Boogy and Belak gave him a poke. Huh...Belak has to go after Boogy at the end of a shift? Next match when Boogy is fresh, RIP Belak.
I ama huge boogey fan but he looked over matched..belak had good punches and kept getting boogey off balance..boogey just needs a little time to get back to his old fighting ability
I like Boogs a lot, don't get me wrong, but he clearly got his butt whooped in this one. Belak nearly floored him at the start, then kept on him for the duration while Boogs was just wildly throwing bombs and hoping to land 'em.
Close until Belak lands one or two more quality shots. Specifically the ones that did a number on Boog's right eye and knocked out one of his teeth. Win Belak.
Belak defo got the best there
Belak clear cut winner! Good for him!
Belak by a nose (Boogard's). Wade seemed to land more clean shots, while Boogey threw too many wild haymakers.
WOw. Someone who could finally give Boo a fight for more than 8 seconds. Still can't believe Belak was the guy. Must have been an off night for the Boogie man. Props Lakkie.
I give the win to Belak.
So much for fight camp. I think Boogaard had expended more energy on the ice I believe that if this fight happened earlier in his shift he would have more energy. Boogaard had better review his technique as the league's Bigger Men are figuring out how to jab him short inside.
Gotta give it to Belak. This was not a very good fight for Boogaard. He looked off balance, sluggish, and off target.
The booger hasn't been the same since Godard knocked his dick in his watch pocket.
Even though i'm a wild fan, edge goes to Belak in this one. Boogy spent too much time just trying to stay on his feet. It's early in the season so Boogy will come around.
Belak showed superior tactics
slight edge to belak surprisingly ... boogaard was off his game on that one for sure, he never seemed to get squared up
I agree with Brad Houghton. Very crafty fight! kept him off balance and took shots when he had them. Advantage by scorecard to Wade!
Edge to Belak!!
Boogie was at the end of shift and was really going after boyton for something earlier, still belak won and a good fight
Edge to Belak
The Wild sure miss Matt Johnson. Boogey is a clumsy fighter that will never be a true champ. He has never beat BGL and never will, never beat Brashear (the guy who will only fight Europeans now) and certainly got his butt kicked by a mediocre heavyweight Belak. The Wild have no punch after getting rid of Simon and Fedoruk. I'm 5'7" 180 lbs. and would not shy away from this clown. Sad to say that I am a diehard Wild fan.
Boogey's my guy, but gotta give this one to Belak. He scored the solid shots here. Hey Messier guy, how is it that Boogaard is the cheap one here, when fags like Tootoo run the goalie, then will only square up with non-fighters coming to the rescue. Last week, he runs Harding behind the next, throws a punch at the never -scrapping Kim Johnnson, then tears off Hardings helmet. That's not cheap? Then he runs him again in this game. Boogie continues to get f#$ed by ref's bacause of all the candy asses that won't go alone with him. A lot of toughness showed when it's 2 or 3 guys going after him as a unit, but none will go solo.
Belak with the better punches. Edge/win Belak.
Boogy couldnt get squared off well from the start so that pretty much doomed him. Belak got some aimed shots at boogards face boogard got a couple in with some kidney shots. Kind of close, belak win though
3 B's. Belak beats Boogaard. Go figure.
belak fought a good fight.those kidney punches boogie throws hurt like hell,if you can fit them in.
Call me biased, but I just love seeing Boogaard lose.
Belak with a win. He fought a perfect fight against Boogaard. land when you can and be defensive since Boogaard can really lay the hurt, Belak took what Boogy gave him and gets a narrow decision.
Belak wins but not by much.
Is it me or does Boogaard seem slower this year? I know it's early in the season, but with some new heavy weights hanging around wanting to prove something, both he and Parros might be seeing a changing of the guard.
the announcers are stupid. they fought for 20 seconds and they're tired? good for Belak to show up for a fight.
nice fight. looks like Belak broke his hand on Boogards helmet there at the end.
Slight edge Belak although he quit at the end. Acted like he hurt his hand but maybe he was just looking to end it while he was ahead. Boogy had trouble with balance and grip all fight long it seemed.
ok fight gotta give this one to Belak for landing the better shots.
Is belak the only person who is not afraid to fight boogaard?
Good fight! I originally thought Belak was going to have his ass handed to him. Nice work Belak! J.J.
good heavyweight bout, rarely the boogieman finds himself at the wrong end this one by a slim margin to belak who threw some good jabs at him. more hits, more impact as boogard just tried to hang in there at the end win belak
win to belak Boogy didnt know hwat to do. he just throws haymakers.
Little bit surprised Belak could handle Boogaard. Who was the last to give Boogaard a good ride, Godard in Calgary?
boogieman loses!!!!!!!!!!!
Fight was all Belak, Boogies hay makers are terrible and can be seen from miles away, I see all the Minni fans pointing out that it was the end of Boogies shift...who cares, you can;t knock Belak for that, everyone plays/fights to win. Boogs is a waste of space (1 point in 50 games) and if he can't win fights then he is completely useless to your Boring hockey club.
Belak takes a decisioin with a smart technical fight that other guys will try to copy to fight Boogy....he almost fought him like BGL using a soft spin cycle and mostly left hands and a sprinlking of rights...he kept him off balance which was the key Win Belak
Win Belak. Boogaard clearly looked stunned several times during the fight.
I don't understand why Belak didn't keep on punching Boogaard with his left hand??? Was he tired perhaps??? Or did he not wanted to hurt him??? It is obivious that Boogaard is very weak defending against south paw fighters. Belak won!
belak took boogaard to school. how bout them apples. i always thought belak was underated but didnt expect such a clear cut win here.
Despite a lot of pauses for breath taking, unbalancing attempts and defensive repositioning, these two guys had a good one. Belak definately was more concerned with keeping his noggin safe than Boogaard was, but each time Boogard got aggressive Belak took advantage and got the better of the punches during the exchange. Edge Belak, though props to Boogie for being the more willing combatant.
Belak deifintely had control throughout the fight. Win Belak.
Belak wins, good that he's in Florida were he can play a bit. Pretty goog tilt.
Two big boys throwing bombs. Win to Belak for landing a few more. In some ways a hard fight to judge just because Boogaard has such horrible balance. Some shots looked to stun him but it could just be his balance problems. Did Belak hurt his hand with that last punch because he looked like he was in serious pain?
I give the win to Belak, he got a lot more good punches in.
Good fight and im glad the refs finally let one go instead of breaking it up in the middle. Boogey never really had control and Belak landed better punches, WIN Belak.
Belak is a pretty good fighter but still has a way to get to Orr and Donald level
Pretty close through the middle of the fight. Give it to Belak at the start and the end for the win.
eh, it was okay, good job by both guys, tired out a bit to quick to me. Belak by a bit
Apparently Belak knocked out 4 of Boogaards teeth in this scrap. It must have been the last punch that Wade threw while Boogaard was trying to adjust his helmet. BOMBS!!! BELAK RULES
Inconcevibly, there are some people here who are trying to claim, I think, that this fight was a draw, or at best, give the "edge" to Belak. As the Vast majority of voters have said, this was a clear victory for Belak. This fight has ripped through the NHL grapevine and as we have seen, articles have been written about. And to the intellectual heavyweights out there, the article was not written because it was a "draw". So to all the people from Minnesota - when the opposing fighter is giving interviews about his amazing performance - chances are it is not because it was a "draw". About Boogy being tired, he wasn't tired to sucker punch Nick Boynton, was he? No sucker punch. No fight. I would rather some of the Boogy fans say, " the stock market *edged* down Slightly last week" Than saying Belak "edged" Booger. For the record, I am an oiler fan. No connection to Belak or the Panthers. ( Who is really? ) Just an awestruck fan of the fight trade.
Belak by the slimmest of margins. He had a little more control and some of his punches definetly rocked the Boogeyman.
Good start to the season for Belak, hopefully he has an active season.
how the fuk can anyone call this a draw or a win Boogy, Belak landed 5 solid shots 3 of which stunned Boogy...........the homerism on his site is getting patjetic. CLEAR WIN BELAK
Belak with a very smart showing here. He exposed all of Boogey's weaknesses to take down a solid W. Nice!
Boogey missed some haymakers and it gave Belak several opprotunities to land nasty lefts. the left by Belak at the 52 second mark capped this bout in his favor. Still great punches landing throughout from both warriors. I really wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of those kidney punches from Boogey. Rematch request here, even though matches between these 2 teams are rare.
Belak! I like how he kept him off balance and still landed big shots. I think Belak gets the win by a very slim margin.
Boogie had mixed it up earlier in the game with Boynton. Belak got the better shots in but Boogie had an assist on an earlier goal, so he's probably happier for that. It was his first point in 50 games.
This is textbook stuff, how to beat Boogaard and not get your head removed. Smartest fight I've seen in ages. You can't stand toe to toe with "The Boogeyman", cause he'll KILL YOU. Belak shows he is not only tuff but smart too. Great fight !!!
Wow, Boogard sucks. Winner = Wade Belak
Wow. The Boogeyman gets messed up. Is Belak climbing back up the tuffguy ladder again? I think maybe yes. I wonder if the bogey man is 100% yet after last season.
Extra, Extra Belak Beats the Beast!
What is also worth noting is that Boogaard to a total cheap shot at Nick Boynton. Nick had his arms pinned by a linesmand and Derk popped him in the face. Bush league nonsense. On previous Panther teams, that would have been the end of it, but huge props to Wade for reminding the team that he would not stand for it. I tend to see fighting in a much broader view than the simple scrap itself. Just as with Chess, it has its moment and reason. Wade Belak should not be scratched again this season (as he was the game before) -- nice to see him pound the bigger and less talented Boogard
Belak Belak Belak!
Belak knocked out a tooth and gave him a black eye Belak wins.
.... MORE PROOF OF THE GREAT MOVES BY THE LEAFS.... IF YOU DO THE RESEARCH IN THE TRANSACTIONS ,THE LEAFS BASICLY GAVE UP BELAK FOR HOLLEWEG. BELAK IS A DECENT 4 th LINER WHEN NEED BE AS WELL !!.... ON FORWARD OR DEFENSE
A good fight. Belak landed some nice left jabs.
Boogaard looks like a gorilla out there flinging his arms around and hoping to connect........Belak definitely gets the win in the battle of Saskatchewan!!
Pretty long & boring bout. Boogarard never really got control, but Belak turtled at the end so I give it to Boogy.
Junk fight edge Boogey looked like Belak broke his hand.
blah
Belak exposes some weaknesses in Derek's fighting here, especially balance. Not really anything significant landing but Belak gets the win here for some nice jabs and a more technical fight all-around. Win Belak.
Boogaards tooth was knocked out when boynton and ballard tackled him earlier, thats why he punched boynton.
Boogaard on a split decision stronger punches Belak sure enough a legit Heavy i thought it was a decent bout
Good tilt, entertaining, lasted a bit long. Belak barely
Smart on belaks part to take on boogaard at the end of a shift, draw/edge belak for this fight being better conditioned and a smart defense. decent fight. Boogaard looked sloppy and tired. He had the upper hand right at the end but didnt capitalize. Hope this woke him up
If you give up in a fight, you lose. Belak had a great technical fight against a rusty Boogaard but, Boogy was still willing to throw. You think Probert would be remembered if all of his fights ended in the first 30 seconds? some fighters need the fight to go past a minute before they get it going. Boogy was sloopy and unbalenced but he's just warming up with that win.
Complete draw.Boogaard was at the end of shift and Belak was not.
Boogard showing some rust as his first fight in the season was a lackluster one, something that is rare in a Boogie fight. Belak gets the slight edge but there was no way to give him a clear win unless we employ a draw-less ranking system. Props to Belak for taking on a better opponant and sticking in there (or winning it as many felt he did) I hope this is the last fight I ever see Boogie not win, what a shame!
Belak couldn't finish off a drunk and stoned Boogy !!!!!
What a lame fight. Typical of most fighting nowadays. No standing up and throwing them with disregard. It's all about cowering away, holding the punching arm, giving the little Mary punches while holding the scruff of the jersey. Just pathetic. No wonder people want fighting out of hockey. It's lame and boring. Bring back the good ol' days of fighting, where it was stand-up haymakers right to the mush.
Belak owned Boogaard in this tilt.
i don't think belak actually stunned or hurt boogaard in any way, but the shot he threw at :52 was the only solid punch of the fight from either. At least they didn't end up falling all over each other on the ice so people don't have to award wins for a friggin takedown. not bad, but a win belak because of the one punch and because he looked like he had boogaard off balance more than the other way around.
lol Boogaard's balance reminded me of our friend with the crazy hair George Parros... Dos E Do your partner.. round and round..
Belak looked pretty good there
Hate to do it, but I gotta give this one to Belak. Boogey never got balanced and took a couple good shots.
belak w a win over the boogeyman...nice hvy weight bout
Was that Boogaard or Hall Gill? Hahahaha. "The BoogeyGirl" got schooled. I kinda like Belak now that is isn't a turdweasel Leaf. He grew a pair....
Belak all the way....Boogeyman needs to work on his balance
boogaard has never been the same since godard knocked his block off. smart fight by belak.
It seemed like Boogaard forgot that Belak can throw with the left, and Belak threw some short lefts to remind him. Not domination, but no doubt who won.
Win Belak on this by the slightest of margins. Watch that haymaker at about the :31 mark of the video that Boogie lands, OUCH! But Belak definately landed more punches and gets the W. Good fight here despite the sloppiness.
boo
