giving this fight a 1 out of 10 gives more credit then it deserves

Posted by rjmont on April 16, 2008 at 04:33 AM

Shadow boxing.

Posted by jkluhr on April 16, 2008 at 10:40 AM

What a horrible fight. Almost as boring as watching Minnesota play hockey.

Posted by 187Jeremy on April 16, 2008 at 10:32 PM

Garbage fight, garbage series, garbage teams. Draw.

Posted by megnlou06 on April 16, 2008 at 12:27 PM

They could have stared in a soap opera all it was missing was a last minute kiss.... lol Lets fight next time girls

Posted by johnnygoodtimes on April 16, 2008 at 03:16 PM

Kudos to Veilleux for giving it a go. Laperriere is still a no class kind of guy- sure he'll take on a smaller guy- sure talks a lot for someone that won't step up for an even match. You don't need to go with Boogaard- try Simon, Fedoruk, or even Burns or Voros. Colorado runs at the mouth an awful lot for a team that won't step up after the words. All in all- sloppy fight and a sloppy game on both sides.

Posted by boogaardfan_24 on April 16, 2008 at 03:45 AM

wasnt really a fight so a draw. but the refs in this game are probably the worst ive ever seen and they call the stupidest shit. colorado probablypaid them off

Posted by Wensinkfan on April 17, 2008 at 12:38 AM

Draw. The refs came in before a solid conclusion was reached.

BORING! No fight. They should both go on Dancing with the Stars.

Posted by mikebflorida on April 16, 2008 at 09:28 AM

Lapperierre doing his job and meanwhile the Wild enforcers, the vaunted tough guys they have are giving Colorado power plays galore, just what Lappy ordered.Lemaire is an idiot, why even dress Boogaard? No one is going to fight him and he takes up a slot that could be filled with an extra dman or scorer, a glaring weakness in Minnesota's lineup. Thought Lemaire was a good coach but when a team beats the trap, stick a fork in that focker, he's done. Draw in a crap fight. Thanks alot zebras. No surprise that the Wild player gets win votes from the incredibly immature homer Wild fans on this site. Grow up.

Posted by Sasky001 on April 17, 2008 at 08:22 PM

Veilleux should NEVER, EVER DROP THE GLOVES AGAIN. Just because you have no offensive talent doesn't mean you are automatically a tough player. Stick to the perimeter like the rest of your team. This is the stupidest announcer I have ever heard in my life. Laperriere is almost 10 years older than Veilleux. Why would they know eachother from Quebec? No NHL on Fox or Vs.

Posted by erik822 on April 16, 2008 at 04:19 PM

I was glad to see Veilleux step up. The fight sucked, but he showed more class than ANY Av's player on the ice. The calls this game were horrible. Lopsided and pathetic. The officiating this whole series has been pathetic. Man up Av's. Play Hockey. If your retirees can't play without whining, get them off the ice.

sissy fight. Where are the pillows?

Posted by Bigford83 on April 16, 2008 at 10:24 AM

As a non-partisan observer, it looks like Veilleux was running around trying to start something, but when he finally got Lappy to oblige, he wasn't so tough anymore. Fortunately for him he was able to tie up LaP. I guess the message here is 'be careful what you wish for.'

Posted by PFLY64 on April 16, 2008 at 09:27 AM

COULDNT agree more with KORPI24, in my opinion officiating is why hockey is seen as a fringe sport, cant leave out the heirarchy of the nhl, they suck too.

Posted by beter06 on April 22, 2008 at 01:09 PM

what fight? you should both be embaressed

Posted by MNBonecrusher on April 18, 2008 at 08:26 AM

As far as the "fight" goes, it had to be about the lamest I have ever seen. Veilleiux is no fighter, but Laperriere KNOWS that, its the only reason he took him on. He had PLENTY of other willing dance partners, but pissed his breezers just thinking about dropping the gloves with Simon, Fedoruk, Voros, or (God forbid!!) Boogaard! He is a coward, and that is pretty obvious. He has shown that throughout this series. As for Mikebflorida, listen up!!! Just because you used to suck off the high school hockey team in Podunk, Florida, does NOT make you a knowledgeable hockey fan.

Posted by Thorn112 on April 17, 2008 at 08:54 AM

Nothing fight - this scrap resulted from SV's dangerous boarding of Stasny and SV is lucky he's not getting suspended for it. The MN kids on here who rant about Lap and McLeod are really out to lunch. Too bad they apparently don't know how to use their computers or the terrific links this site provides to fight logs - they would see that both Lap and McLeod fought pretty much all comers all year, including heavyweights. McLeod has guts to keep fighting when he loses more than he wins! No reason for either to fight Boogard - he takes himself and his team right out of the game with his bravado - forgets that the point it to win the game, not to win a fight.

Posted by KevMack on April 19, 2008 at 04:52 AM

Amazing how Laperriere's elbow pad flew off so easily....what a chump. Fight someone bigger next time.

Posted by roundhouse4u on April 16, 2008 at 11:19 PM

boy you colorado fans got to be proud of this team. i always thought vancouver had the biggest pussy's on a team but now its the avs who do . at least veilleux has the brass to step for his action. lappi you are the biggest pussy in the league. mcleod, forskin, lappi, and so on. all you do is jack your jaw up and down the ice and the only time you start pushing is when you are hiding behind the zebra's. grow a set. lappi you should drop the gloves with boogy . maybe then he could straighten out that f**ked up nose you got you ugly f**k. its safe to say when the instigator penalty is gone. we will see half this team in the minor league next season cause they are not man enough to play and step up. peter forskin should have about 10 diving penalty's in this series. start playing hockey. colorado should be ashamed of this team. watching them running and hiding all night long. this team is a discrace to hockey. living on their glory days by bringing back all these has beens. like foote, who i think crapped his depends when boogy got in his face. puzzy. boooooguard bitches

Posted by rusheetinme on April 16, 2008 at 06:48 AM

Zzzzzzzz. Lame.

Posted by Humper on April 16, 2008 at 08:29 AM

Was that the mambo? Snoozy draw in a non-fight. And PS, Laperriere - you're a joke.

Posted by phisherman1995 on April 26, 2008 at 07:22 PM

I've seen pillowfights better than this....

Posted by sidewinder3001 on May 14, 2008 at 01:08 PM

Lmao all that anticipation for nothing.

Posted by Behn Wilson on April 16, 2008 at 12:58 PM

Nothing much happened, so a draw based on general snooziness. Veilleuxs' external voice- " You wanna go, tu veut d'aller, cris !" Internal voice- "Holy crap it's Lappy, and he want's to go!" "OK. Quick, skate backwards and try to look menacing." "Crap he's trying to hit me!" "Fast, say something French Canadian to calm him down." "Ca va?" "Poutine!!!" "Ot-dog all dress?"

Posted by BattleAxe13 on April 17, 2008 at 06:12 AM

We can dance! A couple landed by each, nothing else really happened, no one with a clear advantage, Draw.

Posted by tossem on April 16, 2008 at 11:06 PM

Agree with KORPI. This stupid dance shouldn't have even been posted on hockeyfights.com. Lappy used to be a tough, hard-nosed player but he has evolved with the rest of the new NHL which should stand for "No Hitting League." To top it all off he stupidly declares that he would not fight Boogard. Are you kidding me?!! Can you imagine someone making that statement back in the 70s? Dave Schultz would have sought him out and beat the piss out of him just for being a pussy! Boogard should have actually done something to earn the misconduct. They used to do the same thing to Probie.

Posted by IceDog44 on April 19, 2008 at 07:22 PM

What's up with all the hand waving from Laperriere? Was he trying to play patty cake with Veilleux? Or was he trying to cast a spell on him?

Posted by cambec on April 17, 2008 at 06:42 PM

Lappy is a punk. He will call out Veilleux, but he himself will not step out and answer for what he did to Gaborik. Can you say...loser!

Posted by Juha82 on July 14, 2008 at 04:26 PM

Not much of a fight. Short scrap with NO WINNER, with no real passion.

Posted by baldhedjer on May 04, 2008 at 10:29 AM

They spent too much time dancing for position. Noone really got off any blows.

Posted by SkateboardWild on April 16, 2008 at 10:53 PM

Veilleux is a great role model for Laperriere to not be a coward! Draw. Mad respect to Veilleux. Any one ripping on the Wild name one coward on are team you cant!

Posted by NE MPLS on April 19, 2008 at 03:09 PM

First of all the announcers were actually good for once (Colorado's or Canadian?)... Lappy is apparently trying to be an enforcer (since Veilleux ran Stastny into the boards) but he cant even take on Veilleux!!! No wonder he wont fight Voros, Simon, Boogaard, or Fridge. Even though I am a Wild fan I still like Colorado (Joe Sakic, Hejduk, Stastny, and Theodore are class players) BUT they need to get rid of Lappy, MaCleod, and Guite (or the Brokeback mountain trio as I like to call them)... Those three are just punks. Get some enforcers who actually respect the game.

Posted by Ripper20 on April 24, 2008 at 01:41 PM

Lappy is such a big pussy. How tough is your tough guy when he'll attack Marian Gaborik twice in one game ( last regular season meeting ) but won't step up to the plate with any of the guys in a similar role from the Wild. Take your pick, Simon, Fridge, or Boogey. What a chicken [email protected]#t.

Posted by ShuterMcGav on April 16, 2008 at 11:38 AM

Why would Lappy fight Simon, Boogaard or Fedoruk? Maybe the Fridge, but you have guys like McLeod and Parker for those guys. Simon and Boogaard are heavyweight, Lappy is a self admited middleweight he has no business fighting them, but if it came down to it I'm sure he wouldn't back down. Minnesota: you are the reason people don't watch hockey! GO AV'S!

Posted by SirYohans on April 16, 2008 at 11:56 PM

Amen, "mikeb." I'm not surprised, Wild fans think their guys have won every fight this season. Even the ones where their player didn't even throw punches. U know why they still get the win??? Check out this logic... Because their guy could've really hurt the other guy if he wanted to but didn't. That's pure genius! In this one, Veilleux gets the win cause he's smaller than Lappy. HAHA, DRAW! HERE WE GO, WILD FANS & FAGGY COMMENTS. I GUESS U GUYS REALLY DO ONLY THINK ABOUT LICKIN BALLS. Oh yeah, the 1 Ranger-Wild game... I guess your memory is a lil shot. It was a 6-3 final & Strudwick beat Voros in the only fight. And Oh yeah, Fridge who had been playing every game was a "Mysterious Scratch" that night. Couldn't of had anything to do with Orr being on the ice. NAH! Of course not.

Posted by Tso xThe Hammer on April 16, 2008 at 04:29 PM

ian laperriere is a fuckin pussy, grow some balls and take on boogie, simon, or the fridge. seriously he only wants to fight people that are smaller than him, which goes to show that hes scared. and for all of u ignorant colorado hockey fans who want to talk smack, i say go have sex with a disease infested nigger.

Posted by tkidu on April 16, 2008 at 11:16 AM

ahhahahaa lap didn't want any of boogy, simon, fedoruk, OR voros so he takes on Veilleux, who is probably more than enough for him anyway

Posted by KORPI24 on April 17, 2008 at 08:41 AM

I watched this game and remember why the NHL referees suck. Why in the hell did Boogard get a second 10 minute misconduct when Foote ran Gaborik through the crossbar ? All he did was skate over and confront him, a very slight push to the chest, but did not punch him or even face-wash him. He should have dropped a glove and sucker-punched him for the penalties he was assessed, absolute hogwash. I like Adam Foote, but Boogard should have just dropped the gloves and started swinging. What a puzzy Lappy is, he's just confirming what I've thought about him for many many years. That boarding Veilleux did to Stastny should have been a 5 minute major and a game, an absolute cheap shot, but if Lappy is going to go after a weak cheap-shot artist like Veilleux, then he has to drop the mitts with the big boys at some point. I'm still disgusted with that second 10 minute misconduct, it totally reminded me of how the refs always took Probie out of the game even when he didn't do a damn thing in a scrum, just because he was on the ice. It's possibly down to just the NFL for my sports watching. Why does the heavyweight on the ice get a FU***NG 10 MINUTE MISCONDUCT WITHOUT DOING A DAMN THING !

Posted by TonyBols on April 16, 2008 at 04:14 PM

Lapps finally found someone on the wild smaller then him to fight. Mcleod and Lapps have no problem running there mouth to Minnesotas big guys but won't back it up. Neither of them would even fight Voros. Whos not even that good of a fighter. Hey laps maybe next you could jump Gaborik again. Give Veilleux credit for jumping in since he'snot a fighter.

Posted by dangleansnipe on April 21, 2008 at 06:49 PM

home town ref advantage this whole game. so many bullshit calls against the wild. the reffs stopped it way to fast laperriere had it comeing but he didn't want to take on any of our good fighters

Posted by wildkillavalanc on April 16, 2008 at 08:45 PM

ian laperriere and the rest of colorado are babies. laperriere is one of their toughest guys and the wild have at least 4 guys that will kill him. plus simon and boogard can both take 3 people each. laperrire can suck my balls cause him and mcloud # 55 are pussys

Posted by angelfish24 on May 10, 2008 at 05:14 PM

i think that the dude from the wilds won

This was a fight?

Posted by Kovac on April 20, 2008 at 11:48 AM

Did any of you douchebags actually see what veilleux tried to do to stastny. guy has no fucking class at all. Minnesota didn't even belong in the playoffs, thanks for wasting 4 rosters spots on guys with 14 goals and 30 points combined this season. who the fuck were they planning to fight?! mcleod...hannan... foote? nice strategy lemaire.

Posted by giefs on April 19, 2008 at 04:17 PM

The square off was excellent....the fight was piss poor.

Posted by Crocosaur on April 17, 2008 at 06:29 PM

Veilleux's had his fair share of scraps, but he's a grinder, not an enforcer. That and isn't Lappy beginning to remind you of another infamous Av who liked to hit and run, but when it was time to step up, he ran like a little girl? He's already said he doesn't want any part of Boogaard, and he's making it obvious that he doesn't want any part of a Wild player that could be a threat to him. Hell, he went after GABORIK for God's sake. As for the fight, nothing really happened, so we'll call it a draw.

Posted by ROCK HAWK on April 18, 2008 at 09:04 AM

Draw. 10 min. misconducts for the Wild fans that voted for Stephanie. mncraig...u get a game suspension for stoopidity. Is anybody else tired of seeing Boogaard's name mentioned in most every Wild fans post ?

Posted by Rynryn on April 16, 2008 at 11:12 AM

Shite fight. This is the difference between our "punk" and Lappy. One of them actually drops the gloves when challenged on a questionable play, no matter that the guy who they're facing outclasses them (as a fighter--no one would assert that lappy has class as a human). That aside, the fight is a draw snooze-fest. No one gets bonus points for obscure non-fight related reasons. I'm still trying to figure out how Voros got 10 for simply wanting to jump in. If they were going to do that, two of the three guys that grabbed boogaard after foote stuffed gaby in the net should have been given 10ers.

Posted by peternorman on April 19, 2008 at 09:40 PM

"Lappy" is a punk. Veilleux answered for his hit from behind. No Av would do that. Still can't call it anything but a draw.

Posted by psycho22 on April 28, 2008 at 09:48 PM

It was alright

Posted by Richterfan on April 18, 2008 at 07:27 PM

Draw in a shit fight. This is a hockey fight site, too many Avs and Wild homers getting in the way of the real travesty here. The fact that the Avs are avoiding fisticuffs like the a virus. There is no defense of this. I wonder why some of you guys come to this site? This is a HOCKEYFIGHT site! We want Hockey fights! Colorado is ruining what could've been a very entertaining series. As a hockey fight fan, I was hoping the Wild would win and somehow would wind up with a Flames-Wild series. Imagine that with the lineups and Iron Mike coaching the Flames. There would be no running to momma like the Avs are doing. Honestly fellas' check the emotions and biases at the door and look at the reality here! Nobody as a hockey fight fan can criticize the Wild! They have tried to stir the pot but the pansies in Colorado are going to do more to hurt fighting in hockey then the Red Wings did over the past few years.

Posted by Tangy30 on April 16, 2008 at 08:56 AM

What did Veilleux get the misconduct for?

Posted by mncraig on April 16, 2008 at 01:36 PM

Vellieux gets the vote for throwing the only punch and having more talent than Lappy. Lucky for Lappy that the linesmen were so quick to come in.

Posted by hollywoodseth on April 16, 2008 at 10:54 AM

If Laperriere was a man he actually fight someone his size. Veilleux showed he will go. Hope Boogaard lays him out soon.
