Good scrap.

Posted by Ripper20 on February 06, 2008 at 12:24 PM

Not a lot of big blows, but a pretty good scrap, nonetheless.Iggy lands on top but I think Jovo scored early. This one's a draw.

Posted by jealeman on February 06, 2008 at 04:20 PM

Great scrap. No clear winner. Jovocop started off strong, but Iginla held in there and fought his way out of it. STORTINI TAKE NOTE: That's how you get in a scrap, not that bear hugging crap you've done 14 times this season. More respect for each dropping their lids before the scrum. DRAW!

Posted by Gunslinger on February 06, 2008 at 10:23 AM

Two pros who do it "old school" and with honor. Props to both and an extra point to Iggy for taking off the visor(were you watching Dion?).

Posted by mikebflorida on February 06, 2008 at 09:16 AM

Good matchup. Jovo wins the first half, Iginla the 2nd. Props for shedding the visor. DRAW

Good tilt boys and respect in dumping the buckets. DRAW no doubt.

Posted by dropkick25 on February 08, 2008 at 12:39 AM

Nice scrap, did the right thing removing the lids, and let em' fly.Jovo early and jarome late.Solid draw. Love the guys who can fight and actually play the game.

Posted by FaxCap on February 06, 2008 at 10:46 AM

All in all a very close fight. JovoCop early on, Iginla later in the fight. FaxCap

good scrap

Posted by LBChockey on February 06, 2008 at 09:37 PM

Great fight... Good sportsmanship on Iginla's part.

Posted by Bigford83 on February 06, 2008 at 02:33 PM

A good hockey scrap is like good sex: it must be passionate, consensual, and free of helmets. I'm gonna say one of the top 5 battles of the season so far, if not for the hits then for both men doing it the right way.

Posted by yerkz on February 06, 2008 at 09:44 AM

Good fight. Jovanoski throughs some hard punches when he gets going. Iginla knows what he is doing when he drops the gloves. Love the way they shed the helmets.

Posted by slysi on June 28, 2015 at 10:35 PM

GREAT OLD TIME HOCKEY .....guys dumping the lids AND no ZEBRAS involved !

Posted by Patman on February 06, 2008 at 07:23 PM

Good fight!

Posted by Mouseman on February 08, 2008 at 01:07 PM

Great fight! I call it a draw. Helmets off...Even the net wont stop the fight! A real man's fight.

Posted by trpaulson on February 07, 2008 at 04:56 PM

Iginla had a little of the upper hand in this one. Not a bad scrap. Like to see more of Jovocop fighting. He used to be pretty good.

Posted by lakingsfan19 on February 06, 2008 at 06:34 PM

win iginla

Posted by RR20 on February 06, 2008 at 12:08 PM

gonna have to give it to inginla they both traded pretty good punches, and each got a take down slight edge to iginla for the final take down

Posted by mrpimp4 on February 06, 2008 at 08:07 PM

decent scrap, iginla with the edge. nice to see the helmets get tossed.

Posted by brad houghton on February 06, 2008 at 08:57 AM

pretty impressive fight for Iggy...if you watch the fight again is it my imagination or does Iggy use the boxing defense of bobbing his head to avoid getting hit? It looks intentional and very effective....very good technique by Iggy making himself tough to tag...waiting.. then going on offense and closing out the fight.

Posted by slav on February 06, 2008 at 09:13 AM

Rid the helmets and let's go! This is a what a hockey fight should look like. Back and forth but Iginla good punches to finish off Joavanovski. Win Iginla.

Posted by HeyImIrish on February 07, 2008 at 12:03 AM

I give a slight edge to Iginla on this one. But really all the credit in the world to Iggy for being a skill player thats always ready to drop the gloves if he has to. One hell of a captain.

Posted by Juha82 on February 07, 2008 at 09:54 AM

Iggy took it in the end and bit before the end but Jovocop did well early on but he didn't land than one. Edge Iginla.

Posted by jthesq on February 17, 2008 at 05:22 PM

Good battle between two evenly matched guys. Gotta love the sportsmanship of both dropping the helmets as well as the gloves, none of that cowardly fighting with a visor crap you see from some guys. Rematch would be nice!

Posted by Cricket on February 06, 2008 at 03:38 AM

This is how you are supposed to fight good scrap, both players got shots in Iggy with take down, I give Iginla the win

Posted by Montel8000 on February 07, 2008 at 07:00 AM

JoVo got pwned.

Posted by Goon24 on February 06, 2008 at 08:36 PM

OK fight, booth fighters makes it well.

Posted by yeahbaby on February 06, 2008 at 02:43 PM

Pretty good tilt, back and forth. Iggy pulled it out at the end.

Posted by Gedman on February 07, 2008 at 02:16 AM

Close good scrap

Posted by Bloodbank on February 07, 2008 at 01:43 AM

Iggy gets into to trouble early. He takes a few shots but comes back as Jovo loses his balance. Very close fight. Iggy with the take down. Decision = Slight edge to Iggy.

Posted by BigMoses on February 06, 2008 at 08:20 PM

Yes! Drop the gloves, drop the lids, everyone lands some punches. All action. If only they were all like this. Iginla with a slight edge, bettering at dodging bombs in this one.

Posted by Formerref on February 08, 2008 at 04:45 PM

THAT is what a hockey fight is!!! Edge to Iggy but what a fight!! Some of the so called heavyweights should take note of this one.....ie: Orr and Brashear

Posted by aznstylez on February 06, 2008 at 12:46 PM

IGINLA

Posted by WildFan31 on February 06, 2008 at 11:08 PM

Good fight........nice punches landed on both ends, but iginla finished strong.

Posted by redwingrocket on February 06, 2008 at 03:17 PM

Man I love how the helmets were nicely tossed to the side. This is the model fight for every NHL player. Drop the gloves and take off the helmet. Lots of class. Good stuff.

Posted by oilersfansylvan on February 06, 2008 at 02:23 PM

Hey Dion hope you took notes on being a man from Jerome. Good job, old time hockey still lives. Gave it to Jerome forthe take down and initiative, very close, I HATE the flames, but hey Iginlas a class guy.

Posted by markyz79 on February 07, 2008 at 05:27 PM

Its always great to see stars fighting! I gotta give the win to Iginla, eventhought he probably took more punches. He somehow looked tougher and more powerfull in that fight! He was more balanced on his skates as well...

Posted by kennyj76 on February 07, 2008 at 02:54 PM

nicew fight. iginla showing that he doesnt just score n put up points but that he can also fight too

Posted by Sam1410 on February 14, 2008 at 06:41 PM

Good fight. Nice to see them drop the lids, but I wish people would stop saying all fights should be like this. It wasn't a spontaneous fight - the puck was going the other way and Iggy and Jovo squared off after some yapping. Fights that just happen with someone dropping the mitts and throwing doesn't give them time to get rid of the helmet. Edge to Iggy in this one for taking a couple of early shots and then landing several big punches including the one that took Jovo down.

Posted by dave_brown on February 06, 2008 at 08:14 AM

Good fight. I thought Jovo had the upper hand early then Iginla came back. I like how they both took off their helmets. Players who wear visors should do what Iginla usually does. If they have time while squaring off TAKE OFF THE HELMET.

AMAZZING!

Posted by stizzo on February 06, 2008 at 01:07 PM

love the respect - drop the lids and no cheap shots - both throwing bombs!

Posted by Eric Godard vs. on February 07, 2008 at 11:49 PM

is it just me or does iggy score a big goal every time he fights. iggy is geting triple teammed in the corners his line mates need to pick it up, hus is gone, i would beat my own mother for playing like he is.

Posted by nationals_6 on February 18, 2008 at 10:50 PM

great fight 2 canadian boys going at it this is what hockey fights should look like

Posted by Caniac2630 on February 07, 2008 at 10:28 AM

Jovo with the win, more quality shots landed. Iginla had more jersey, I didn't really see him land anything but one shot.

Posted by Larry_in_PHX on February 09, 2008 at 11:25 AM

I am alone when I say, the only reason Iginla took his helmet off was because Jovo TOLD (not only verbally, but he had to physically "show him up," too) him to? It seemed clear to me that Igy was certainly content to fight with his hat on, for that I will not shower him with sprinkles of respect. Jovo is the honorable one here, too bad it was such a close fight.

Posted by rpalmer120 on February 06, 2008 at 07:45 AM

I am just glad the Jovanovski got some god punches to the head of Iginla. I CAN'T STAND iginla AT ALL. I like his spirit and and that he fights as the Captain, but I think he is a sore loser and a cheap shot.

Posted by billy jack on February 13, 2008 at 02:44 AM

smart move jove made iggy take his shield off, nice draw.

Posted by UnderdogDMG on February 10, 2008 at 12:08 AM

Iginla bit off a little too much.. lol

Posted by jbart321 on February 07, 2008 at 02:03 PM

I am giving this to Jov cause he landed more and if he didn't slip, would have kicked Jaromes ass.

Posted by islandmacd on February 06, 2008 at 02:01 PM

Jovo landed the heavier blows, Iginla landed several but did not catch jovo square. Props to both for removing their helmets.

Posted by ibled4theusa on February 06, 2008 at 01:05 PM

Loved that one. True Hockey spirit and good action.

Posted by mikeyfreake on February 06, 2008 at 12:25 PM

Jovo for landing more and bigger punches. Who gives a shit about the take down.

Posted by Jesticle on June 23, 2015 at 02:37 PM

JovoCop all day all night. Jerome just pulls at him until he loses balance at the end, but Jovo landed the haymakers for the win.

Posted by Sukoshi84 on February 06, 2008 at 01:26 PM

Jovocop with the narrow win, awesome thing to see the lid toss

Posted by stevkrause on February 06, 2008 at 09:31 AM

Great spirited go - Edge to Jova - Iginla got the takedown, but Jova landed more shots - slight edge

Posted by merle johnson on February 06, 2008 at 03:13 PM

Bunch of homers voting on this one.Jovanoski the clear winner,He landed many more and the harder shots.Iginlia gets in a few ,and then scores the takedown.Good fight..I counted 10 shots for Jovo & 5 for Iggy !!

Posted by dumby on February 06, 2008 at 09:13 AM

jovocop, coyotes keep fighting, coyote haters keep calling them soft, no gratton, no carcillo, no problem!!!!

Posted by Rebel Banker on February 06, 2008 at 08:15 AM

jovo having a comeback year... this is the year of the AARP...jovocop, roberts, & nolan all beatin arses again

Posted by Nartholomieux on February 12, 2008 at 07:10 PM

Forget takedowns....it's punches that count for winning a fight. Win to Jovo.

Posted by PLoneNRG on February 06, 2008 at 03:10 PM

If I had to choose... I'll give it to Jovo. His shots were more solid. Iginla did well, I guess u can score it win, lose or draw and u wouldn't be wrong. P.S. - Nice to see them both lose the buckets before they went.

Posted by MakaveliTrained on February 06, 2008 at 02:29 PM

good even scrap...draw

Posted by Inultus on February 06, 2008 at 01:46 PM

Good to see two guys both take their helmets off before the fight. Seems that often times one guy busts up his hand because he is hitting the other guy's helmet. Unfair advantage, especially with a visor, at least this time Iginla took it off. Good scrap.

Posted by poopies on February 06, 2008 at 10:47 AM

I hope all the douche bags who think wearing a visor during a fight is cool see this video.

Posted by goody72 on February 19, 2010 at 11:34 PM

Jovanovski the first half. Iginla the second half. Great Fight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Draw...

Posted by preds321 on February 06, 2008 at 09:14 PM

wow what a great fight. I am a big fan of Iginla, but I really can't see either one of these guys getting an advantage in this tight one. lots of blows landed by both fighters. have to say DRAW

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on February 23, 2015 at 02:01 AM

Jovo-cop started off nicely, but after he lost his footing Iggy took over and controlled the rest of the fight beating Big Ed down to the ice.

Posted by biglite351 on February 06, 2008 at 08:40 AM

Class move to remove the helmets and visor.

Posted by kitcarnut on February 07, 2008 at 06:30 AM

power shots by Jovocop

Posted by YRU Blind on February 06, 2008 at 09:48 PM

If you voted for Inginla your a fool, take downs at the end mean nothing!!!

Posted by marinermoose38 on February 06, 2008 at 03:10 PM

Jovo-cop with the win... he clearly landed more!

Posted by RhonaMitra1 on January 21, 2009 at 07:48 PM
