Draw between Thorburn and the Jovo-cop!

Posted by trpaulson on February 20, 2009 at 12:35 PM

Draw. Not much of a fight. Jovanowski has been hitting real dirty lately. I like the old Jovocop better.

Posted by Sasky001 on February 20, 2009 at 08:54 PM

Thorburn should have skated off the ice instead of coming over and humping Jovocop's leg. Total dive into the boards.

Posted by Dangelle34 on February 20, 2009 at 02:01 PM

Dirty hit by Jovo, and totally a draw, but I did love that first punch by Jovo.

Posted by MrBoDangles on February 20, 2009 at 05:26 PM

Did Thorburn see somthing he liked in the first row, cause he was trying pretty hard to get through the boards at it. Sure Jovo gave him a little shove on the lower back, but it was a chicken sh*t dive on Thorburn's part. Pathetic.

Thorburn was obviously not in the best shape for fighting after he was put into the boards. This had to be at the end of the shift as well.

Posted by Behn Wilson on February 22, 2009 at 06:09 AM

That's the cheapest shot I've seen this year. I hope that there was some backstory, otherwise...that's about as classless as it gets.

Posted by b.t.wilson on February 20, 2009 at 09:12 AM

Not a whole lot happened here, each had a death grip on the other's jersey. Had potential too! Going with a draw and a 3.

Posted by FreezeSkillz on February 21, 2009 at 07:12 PM

Not the best fight I've seen but certaintly not the worst... I rated it a 3 and a draw. Although, Jovanovski had some nice fists.

WAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE IS IT JUST BECAUSE THE DUMB ANOUNCER SAID IT WAS A DIRTY HIT THAT MAKES YOU THINK IT WAS ,EVERY PLAYER GETS A SECOND OR TWO TO HIT THE OTHER PLAYER AFTER THEY HAVE GOTTEN RID OF THE PUCK THAT WAS A CLEAN HIT AND IM NOTHING CLOSE TO BEING A COYOTES FAN!

Posted by Johnny8242 on February 20, 2009 at 05:11 PM

Thorburn almost got killed into the boards. Draw fight nothing much really both players seemed tired.

Posted by DARCY T on May 18, 2009 at 08:04 PM

disappointment by jovo.i realized he is getting really old

Posted by mikebflorida on February 20, 2009 at 11:12 AM

Win Zebras Thorburn gets in a good position to really give some payback after the cheap hit by Jovo but the dumb ass linesmen grab his arm and break it up. Makes it a draw I guess. No penalty for Jovo, no instigator for Thorburn. Welcome to the NHL, no consistency at all.

Good show by thorburn not to back down. He was hit hard and came after the tough guy Jovanovski.

Posted by tattooedkingpin on February 20, 2009 at 10:42 AM

Draw because the announcer said so

Posted by BAAAAANNERMAAAN on February 20, 2009 at 12:57 PM

nice dive into the boards ace....

Posted by bruins rule on February 20, 2009 at 09:04 AM

an okay fight from these 2 guys.

Posted by kimocoyote on February 20, 2009 at 10:01 AM

If anything an edge to "Jovo" got to give it to Thorburn handling his own "dirty laundry." Questionable hit by Jovanovski, should have been at least 2 in my opinion. Good fight for two guys at the end of their shift.

Posted by nicknines on February 20, 2009 at 11:30 AM

not one good fight all night

Posted by Scott4 on February 20, 2009 at 05:35 AM

Thorburn is horrible fighter...nice to see Jovanovski drop the gloves...win for him.

Posted by Gunslinger on February 20, 2009 at 08:00 AM

Slight edge to Jovo in this one. Refs miss the original call which should'nt surprise anyone.

Posted by Rantavahti on February 20, 2009 at 12:49 PM

Pretty theatrical, that Thorburn's fall...

Posted by Remyy on February 20, 2009 at 11:45 AM

that could have been ugly.

Posted by filefactor on February 20, 2009 at 07:43 AM

Jovanovski with the win because of this first punch. He need to drop his gloves more often. He sure can fight.

Posted by PFLY64 on February 20, 2009 at 07:57 AM

I think Jovanovski caught him pretty good with a right after he gets up I think only that and one other punch landed both from Jovanovski

Posted by sundogsteve on February 20, 2009 at 04:55 PM

I don't know how any one can say this was a dirty hit by Jovo, Im not saying he's done it before but I was at the game last night and Thorburn clearly leaped into the boards trying to get a call, looked like an idiot and wanted to fight, that is why nobody "stood up" for him, it was a dive, Im getting sick of homer calls on the play by play and by my own admission the Yotes have one of the worst with Pang. End of story Jovo clear winner in a fight that should have never happened.

Posted by ogie ogiltorpe on February 21, 2009 at 03:08 AM

was going to score it a draw but after watching it several times Jovo lands hard punches at the start and at the end of the fight...kudos to Thorburn for standing up after a very dirty hit but he looked woozy here and didn't do much in the fight...Jovo wins the fight too bad about the cheap shot

Posted by bruiseyoureye on February 20, 2009 at 02:11 PM

thorburn with the win here

Posted by sporr on February 20, 2009 at 10:25 AM

Typical Jovo. Cheap. How the ref doesn't call anything on the initial cheapshot is incredible. Standing right there and you didn't see it? I give the edge to Thorburn as Jovo pusses out at the end when Thorburn is taking control. Props to Thorburn for getting up and coming back at the cheap c_cksucker. Old time hockey retribution.

Posted by ColinGonzo on February 21, 2009 at 01:16 PM

Thorburn was dazed after the hit, kudos to him for fighting his own battle. That sap Jovanovski is pregnant and expecting twins!!!

Posted by TrueBlue26 on February 20, 2009 at 10:43 AM

im watching remember the titans...its such a great movie

Posted by sjovocop55 on February 20, 2009 at 09:19 AM

Nice to see you still have it Eddie!!!!

Posted by KINGANY on February 20, 2009 at 07:42 AM

Just one punch fellas...please?

Posted by PICKLEHAMMER on February 20, 2009 at 09:07 AM

Cheap hit.

Posted by JoMilla on February 21, 2009 at 05:43 PM

Draws, glad he is okay after that check though.

Posted by knuckleballs on February 20, 2009 at 06:50 AM

Sad that nobody else came to Thorburns aid after that hit. Pretty pathetic!!!

Posted by goody72 on July 31, 2009 at 12:46 PM

Would like to see these two go at the beginning of a shift. Draw.

Posted by chad420 on February 22, 2009 at 09:06 PM

draw....nothin landed, but the dirty hit...i used 2 like jovo...cheapass hit, then he threw on him dazed

Posted by tiburon4 on February 20, 2009 at 12:39 PM

Had to duke it out at the last minute, literallly, hmph. Close draw.

Posted by kitcarnut on February 20, 2009 at 03:05 PM

Thats how a real hockey fight is supposed to take place. Dirty hit = punch in the mouth two guys settling a dispute on the ice. Especially the two guys involved, not some prima donna figure skater dressed in a hockey uniform having to pretend to jump in and hug til the ref saves his life. That schit is getting tired.

Posted by hockeyherman on February 20, 2009 at 10:12 AM

Could Thorburn of tried to jump any better into the boards! What a lame attempt at trying to get a cheap call!

Posted by wannago_letsgo on February 20, 2009 at 12:03 PM

brutal hit from Jovo, good on Thorburn for standing up for himself, Jovo takes the win in the fight, marks to Thorburn for getting back up, a lot of people would have laid there half dead.

Posted by Oil Can Henry on February 20, 2009 at 10:02 PM

Nothing wrong with the hit - Thorburn just got put into the boards,....plus he lost the fight.

Posted by PredsFan189 on February 28, 2009 at 11:22 PM

Refs have to make those calls! Surely one of them saw it. Unfortunately, it looked like Jovanovski got the narrow win. Where's karma when you need it?

Posted by stremb on February 20, 2009 at 10:03 PM

check out that first punch by eddy (1:08)
