Looks like Smith was swattin at flies around Clarksons head cause I didn't see many land from him. Clarkson landed more and got Smith down, win for Clarkson.

Winner Clarkson for always having that right hand free and ready to throw at will.

Posted by ajt86 on December 22, 2007 at 04:42 PM

draw- neither landed anything damaging

Posted by Plateworker on December 17, 2007 at 10:45 AM

Who the hell voted a winner in this one. This is the definition of a draw

Posted by DARCY T on December 18, 2007 at 03:12 AM

its seems like clarkson got votes for not being was weak fight with no winner and for sure its not clarkson usin peters-style in this one and throwin almost nothin.

Not much to comment on. Draw.

Posted by mikebflorida on December 18, 2007 at 12:02 AM

I gave it a draw. Both landed a few, both were tied up pretty well and both were tired at the end. DRAW

Neither fighter did anything to win the fight. Smith defended well and Clarkson just spun around as if on Saturday night fever. I think a wet paper bag would have held up against either side.

Smith lands a big right early before the two grapple and exchange a few punches that all appear to miss. Smith seems to be in control of the wrestling, despite allowing Clarkson to throw a haymaker uppercut which almost connects. The fight ends with a nifty Clarkson takedown when he realizes Smith was about to try to take him down. Clarkson throws a borderline cheapshit as they hit the ice. No winner here in an okay bout which never really got going.

Edge Clarkson. For the last shot. Hard to tell by the angle if it landed but I will give him the benifit of the doubt. NICE TILT!!!!

Posted by hockey doc on December 17, 2007 at 09:23 AM

pretty close bout, not much happening. Clarkson employing that boring style of the "extended arm hold away and swinging once every ten seconds". Cheap shot at the end by Clarkson when Smith was down on the ice.

Posted by teabagger on December 17, 2007 at 11:13 AM

The fight was a draw, but Clarkson's last punch show's he's a no-ball loser.

Posted by brennank on December 17, 2007 at 08:42 AM

Win for Smith! Only because the best shot from Clarkson was a cheap shot! Smith is not the type to hit a player when he is down! That was the best shot the Clarkson had!! And Smith was F up from the start!!!

Not much connecting here, but definite edge to Clarkson.

Win goes to Claskson for the strong finish. Not a great fight tho.

Win clarkson!

Posted by aces50 on December 17, 2007 at 10:23 AM

Clarkson clear winner No such thing as cheap shot in a fight with a Flyer.

Posted by IMPEACH on December 17, 2007 at 05:43 PM

What the heck was Smith doing? Is he taking lessons from Eager? I think the Flyers still haven't gotten over Fedoruk geting KO'd by Orr last year. They're all afraid of getting hit, with the exception of Cote, who does nothing BUT get hit.

win by the rookie Clarkson over Smith. last punch landed very solid.

Posted by Mouseman on December 16, 2007 at 10:48 PM

I cannot figure out what smith was doing at the end of the fight? Trying to grab the back of his jersey? Draw.

Posted by The Ripper on December 17, 2007 at 09:35 PM

No real punches connected from both players, but the take down goes to Clarkson, so i guess he gets the edge.

Posted by iluvdonuts on December 17, 2007 at 10:47 AM

Looked like most of Clarkson's bombs landed on Smiths shoulder or armpit. Yawner. I wouldn't give this to either guy. Clarkson may have landed a shot or 2, but Smith controlled the situation.

Posted by bnwolfe on December 18, 2007 at 03:41 PM

solid draw, Smith had control but Clarkson was able to dodge around and get in some good shots. Looks like Smith had the height advantage, and an extra point to the fight in general for their being a history between the two.

Posted by MakaveliTrained on January 11, 2008 at 11:15 AM

Clarkson ownes the flyers captain! Thats twice now, Clarkson got the better of Smith...flyers suck

Posted by nevada777 on December 24, 2007 at 03:34 PM

close one slight edge to Clarkson.

WOW, some Flyer hater's here!!! I don't know, Philly, are they the team with the most fights?? If not, it's not because of the lack of trying!!!! And all you guys do is insult, curse, and try to humiliate them. I implore you, they are not animals. They are just a team that has a few bad apples!!!!!! The Devil wins

Posted by Heavy Right on December 17, 2007 at 10:28 PM

Any Philly as whuppin is a great fight, I wonder when the last Flyer dropped the gloves for a true hockey purpose... Broad Street Morons

Posted by shrk33 on December 17, 2007 at 04:33 AM

nice little rivalry these two have going.

Posted by aerotunes on December 17, 2007 at 05:03 PM

1 st place Devils kick flyers butt on all levels ...

Posted by Formerref on December 18, 2007 at 04:14 PM

Clarkson reminds me of Jannsen...what a sucky fighter, even though he got the win. Can't wait for him to get his noggin rocked and hard.

Posted by Juha82 on December 18, 2007 at 05:32 AM

not a great one, but okay. Smith controlled mostly, until Clarkson taked him down. no many punhches here either, but they landed some. looked like they landed about same amount of punches. Clarkson missed an uppercut later. A draw.

its always good when a flyer loses and i agree no such thing as a cheap shot when it comes to philly
