Talk about swinging from the hip... my god. In the thumbnail he looks like that one Jeff Dunham puppet.
In his first NHL fight, Hayden takes on a tough customer And the college kid lands a punch out of nowhere Threw that one from the cheap seats... Hopefully Hayden can develop into something nasty
Great Tussle. Will be one of the best this season.
I'm a Wild homer and Foligno was winning until that hit at the end. Any doubts were washed away by the fact that the hit knocked Foligno out for a couple weeks to get facial surgery.
Hayden knocked him the fuck out!
when the knees buckle, you're takin' a L.... nice connect from the kid to waffle the ever-studly Foligno descendent in a 'no-quarter' tilt... #40 FTW
Pretty spirited tussle, Hayden with the obvious W. Gave it a 7 based on entertainment value.
Draw? Foligno win? The linesmen stepped in because Foligno had clearly lost! Never understand some of the voting on this site.
Haymaker for the match
Foligno got domed
Well then... I don't who's more surprised... myself or Folgno I'll let Daysofcoleco's brilliant "Folignoian" inner voice soliloquy take it from there Lol @EK65
wow, i didnt know chicago employs a fighter.an unusual thing...hayden's 1st nhl fight in regular season and a good one.it was a close fight with no real punches landed until that haymaker and he broke foligno's cheekbone with that right haymaker and foligno's got solid reputation as a fighter.good start in nhl for 22 years old hayden...tko and gave it a 6
Unfortunately for Foligno he gets caught with one lucky haymaker.
Foligno was on his was to a win unit he caught a short right jab and then a bomb of an overhand right...TKO! Hayden 6
This was objectively a terrible idea from Hayden, but he hangs tough, takes some hard shots and gets his reward with an admittedly fairly wild haymaker. Not bad for a rookie.
Close fight, but one good punch by Hayden gave him the win.
Foligno had every punch other than a few jabs from Hayden from the collar. Hayden gets the win though with the punch that drops Foligno down to the knee.
Hayden with the Hail Mary full of face, for the win...
Foligno looked like he had things pretty well handled until Hayden landed that big right to end things.
Nick would beat his ass but whatever. I want a Peluso call up from Washington next time they play the Pens. He always fucks Reaves up.
Good scrap. Hayden with the bomb for the edge
It wasn't the best but Hayden did well to protect himself until he could get a hand free and also utilized his left jab as well. He won the fight even if you take away the big haymaker, but that was the icing on the cake.
Hayden would've destroyed foligs on a 2nd punch there had the ref not stepped in, good stoppage.
John Haydens First fight is a win against Wilds tough guy Foligno. Ending it with a big right hand that makes his knees weak. Good Fight.
Definitely a win for Hayden. Foligno suffered a broken bone in his face from the haymaker at the end. Also, I checked. I see many comments saying this is Hayden's first fight. He had a fight in preseason. So this would be his first Regular Season NHL fight but not his first NHL fight.
Ka- POW!
Hayden drops a pretty tough customer with a huge punch. Won this fight easily.
I,ll call it a draw but one last shot by Hayden may win it!
No where near as lopsided as the votes tell you.
Ferlund dominating until he got caught on the side of the head with a haymarker.
Good fight all around. As usual Foligno puts forth a strong effort but Hayden's haymaker is the deciding factor.
Great comeback
Foligno was too focused on throwing the helmet, and got popped.
John "Haymaker" Hayden
I'm probably not alone when I googled 'John Hayden' after this bout. Kid out of Chicago wins with a buckling right we like to call the 'Hometown Haymaker' Marcus Foligno's adrenaline made him bounce right back up after a quick knee wobble, but you could tell he was seeing stars after that one! WHAMMY!
Hayden pulled it out of the fire with the haymaker at the end of the fight.
Started that punch from his ankle. Real Good fight
Boom...protect the chin the grasshopper learned.
going draw, you cannot discount all the damage foligno did before that one big punch from hayden...but boy was that a nice shot.
Foligno's a pretty rough customer, and he was giving Hayden all he could handle, until, somehow, the kid swung from the nosebleeds to drop him to his knees and take the comeback TKO, and he looked as surprised as anyone that he was able to. Good shit from both guys.
Foligno had a big one waiting for Hayden, but Hayden beat him to the punch; and a good one it was! Funny how Hayden is turning away from Foligno's punch as he lands first. Check it out in super slow motion.
All Foligno until the TKO by Hayden.... Hayden and 6
I think myself, Foligno & Hayden have something in common: none of us saw it ending like that! Giving the nod to Hayden here with a borderline TKO (struggling to check the box though). Was more or less getting owned before the Hail Mary swing.
This should be easy - I'm in complete control of this scrap - Sweater Jab? Ow! Christ that hurt. Like brass knuckles. Who gets that much pop out of a sweater jab? OK I've got his helmet off - here we go - Marcus is Back! I'm going to pretend to do my hair - WTF!?
Foligno had him till' he got caught with that wild lucky right landed. had his eyes closed when he through it. Good fight though.
Draw. Good haymaker from Hayden
One punch from Hayden made all the difference
Props to Hayden for turning that around. He definitely started out in a hole, but he hung in there and won in.
Foligno was up on points until he gets lambasted with a bomb from Hayden! KD win for Hurricane Hayden.
